An Odd Couple

A roleplay involving Doutric (A rabbit) and Rosethorn (A Hare) Read on and learn the truth behind the title.

Rosethorn is siting up in a tree singing to her self...

Doutric hops into the orchard and hears singing,"Who es thur?

Rosethorn hears doutric and sighs than climbs a bit higher into the tree...

Doutric hops further into the orchard looking around. Not once does he think to look up.

Rosethorn stays where she is in the tree...

Doutric tugs his ear,"Who es thurr?"

Rosethorn still stays in the same spot tell the branch gives out and she falls to the ground...

Doutric blinks and turns around quickly,"Rose! You okay?! I thought I heard someone singin' out hurr..."

Rosethorn sits up and coughs some."I think I am ok..."

Doutric hastily hops over to dust her off. Then he proceeds to check her over completely,"You look awright. I'm right well glad you ain't hurt."

Rosethorn shrugs."Yeah...I guess that is a good thing..."

Doutric pulls her close,"I was right scared sumthin' nad had dun happened to yah."

Rosethorn sighs and says."Well I am fine...dont worry..."

Doutric shakes his head,"It's my job tah worry about ya darlin'."

Rosethorn stands up and sighs."I dont need anyone to take care of me...you can just worry about your self..."

Doutric suddenly changes his attitude,"When will you understand that I care about you Rose?"

Rosethorn lets out a sigh and says."I know you care about me....I was just saying you dont need to take care of me...I can do that on my own..."

Doutric shakes his head,"I believe you, but it's in me heart tah try and protect ya darlin'"

Rosethorn nods."I get wot you are trying to say."

Doutric smiles at her.

Rosethorn sighs and sits back down with her back to a tree...

Doutric looks her over,"You sound tired darlin'. Did you sleep at all last night? Or did you go somewhere earlier?

Rosethorn shakes her head."No...just feeling a bit depressed..."

Doutric sits down beside her,"Anything I can help ya with?

Rosethorn shakes her head."No...it is nothing you could fix..."

Doutric lays a paw on her shoulder,"Want to talk about it?"

Rosethorn frowns and says."I just miss my family..."

Doutric takes her into his arms,"Don't worry darlin'. We all start feelin' that eventually. Soon you'll be seein' your brother that I am certain."

Rosethorn shakes her head as a few tears start to form in her eyes."Wot if its not him...Than I wont have any family left...some days I think it would have been better if i had died with them..."

Doutric looks at her and his seerious expression deepens,"You need to believe. You need to want to live. Don't you ever think diein' is the better decision!"

Rosethorn frowns as tears roll down her face."Well me liveing also comes with haveing to deal with not haveing a family, It still hurts to walk, and I have never even had a real home!"

Doutric hugs her and whispers in her ear,"Be hopeful that your brother lives and know that you have a real home here with me if you want."

Rosethorn looks at douric than wraps her arms around him and sobs into his... .

Doutric lays his head on hers,"Everything will turn out ok darlin' even if I hafta make it turn out ok for you."

Rosethorn shakes her head still sobing."But...*sniff*...this is something you cant *sob* fix...."

Doutric smiles at her,"With a little spit,grit,and love just about anythin' can be fixed darlin'."

Rosethorn just shakes her head...

Doutric kisses her forehead,"Everything will turn out ok darlin'. Just have hope in the world."

Rosethorn just sobs and holds onto doutric...its good to let this kind of stuff of your chest from time to time and its been a bit to long since rosethonr has been able to talk about anything like this...

Doutric holds her tightly and kisses her forehead again. He holds her as if trying to protect her from the world,"Let it out darlin'. Just let it out."

Rosethorn looks up and wraps her arms around doutric."*Sniff*Doutric...I...I love you..."

Doutric nods at her words and hold her even tighter in his arms,"I love you to Rosethorn. Ever sense I met you I've loved you."

Rosethorn nods."You have told me...But...I never told you..."

Doutric nods,"I know, but I hoped. I hoped long and hard that you loved me back."

Rosethorn nods and holds doutric tight."Well I love you...I love you more than anyone I have ever loved before!"

Doutric's jaw drops,"Nobody ever dun said such powerful words tah me, but Rose...I love you more than anythin' I ever dun did loved too. More than me old farm and more than me mum and pap."

Rosethorn lets go of the rabbit and sits back."Thank you..."

Doutric nods to her,"I'd do anythin' for you."

Rosethorn smiles."So...wot now?"

Doutric stands up and says noble-like,"Now we live and we hope my darlin'."

Rosethorn laughs."Well I was thinking we should go work on the farm or something."

Doutric says, "Well that works to."

Rosethorn laughs."Or we could stay and talk."

Doutric smiles,"I'll let you decide."

Rosethorn shakes her head."I dont car wot we do, as long as I am with you."

Doutric exclaims, "I know! Lets get some apples!"

Doutric exclaims, "And make a pie!"

Rosethorn grins."That sounds good!"

Doutric smiles at her,"Shall I pick you up so you can reach the higher ones?"

Rosethorn nods."That might work!"

Doutric lifts his sweetheart Rosethorn up in his arms easily,"There we go. Try to get a few red and green ones."

Rosethorn pulls a few of the biggest apples off the tree and says."Ok you can let me down!"

Doutric grins and lets her down,"Shall we head to the kitchen?"
