Redwall Abbey Infirmary

DoraRose the mouse. Cheshire the cat.

It hasn't been a good day for Cheshire. The cat looks frazzled once again to be in the infirm. So many sick beasts, so many annoyances, so many possibilities to catch a diseases from these Redwall barbarian heathens. Most of them don't even wash their hands before they eat. Heathens! He is almost happy to see the beast he was talking to leave. That dolt of a fat fox has somehow dyed his fur blue. Sure Cheshire can fix the problem. It's easy to mix up a black, or white or what ever dye. It is just so...distracting from the projects he is working on. The cat sighs, happy to finely be rid of the fox after he walks out the door, leaving the cat alone in the infirm. At least he doesn't have to work on anyone today...

Hahahaha....the cat thought too soon. DoraRose Strongheart is brought into the infirm on a streatcher, carried by a Novice and a guard. She has a cut on her lower left arm, down to the bone, and it's bleeding heavily. She has fainted from a combination of pain and blood loss.

Cheshire throws his head back and facepaws. "Dang it! For a group of pacifists how do you lot keep getting into sword fights!" The cat points to a wooden table to set the mouse on, grabbing his bag as he walks over.

The guard glances at the cat as he and the Novice set the mouse on the cot. "She's not a pacifist. You should've seen how she was beating up Bandit yesterday!" And with that cheerful thought he leaves, and the Novice run s to get the needed supplies. She rushes back just as DoraRose groans drowsily.

Cheshire begins to examine his patient, less than gently touching the wound to her arm. Great, cut to the bone. Beasts often down play the dangers to arm wounds. In reality having a blade cut you any where is dangerous. It damages the muscles, cuts blood vessels, and risks amputation. "She might be forced to after this." He grabs the mouse by the chin, and looks at her eyes, grabbing a large wooden spoon from his bag he inserts it into the mouse's jaw, "Trust me... you'll understand what the spoon is for later mousy." He reaches into his bag and pulls out a needle and thread. "Cause this is gonna hurt..."

DoraRose faints again when the cat touches her wound, and so is thankfully, blissfully unconscious during the entire stitching operation. When her wound has been sewn up and bandaged, she is moved to a more comfortable bed, where she is given warm broth and tea when she wakes up. Her twins are left in the care of their father.

Will continue this log with DoraRose being awake tomorrow! Thanks for reading! :)
