Aftermath of finding Seth, among other matters :)

Redwall Abbey Infirmary Recovery

Zork the badger. DoraRose and Caleb, mice. Flicktail the fox. Zarok the Smooth monitor lizard and Terfil the newt. Some very upset healers. Sunwing the sparrow.

Zork lays on one of the cots, a couple healers check on him and will report to the master healer if they need to, he starts to move slightly for the first time since yesterday afternoon, well he was breathing but now his paw moves to his chest as he groans a little, he moves his leg slightly but has yet to open his eyes, but he is close to waking up.

DoraRose peeks into the room. She has Calb on her hip, but LilyMoore is nowhere to be seen. Looks like Caleb didn't wasn't okay with leaving mommy today. His mother smiles and quietly crosses over to the badgers' bedside and sits down in a chair next to it, setting her son on the floor and digging six little wooden soldiers from out of her sewing basket. The Dibbun happily sits down to play with them and his stuffed Martin the Warrior action figure as DoraRose brings out a nightshirt and begins to sew a patch onto a hole in the left elbow.

Zork mutters something and his eyes flutter open, he is still weak and tries to remember what all happen, yeah the rat and pain, he groans and barely remembers stumbleing at the abbey gates, he has yet to say anything, but he is finally awake.

DoraRose glances over at the badger as he groans, smiling slightly and gently saying, "You're awake. I heard what happened to you. Are you in much pain? Would you like me to get a healer?"

Zork looks at Dorarose, "Why ...are you outside?" He shakes his head, he looks around and takes metal note he is inside, not outside, he closes his eyes, "Sorry..how get in here..where Cera and..Leon?"

DoraRose stands and gets a cool wet towel. "I'm not sure where they are. The guards told me that you came up to the gates and fainted, that you had been poisoned, and that Cera saved your life. I confirmed this with the healers in here. Are you thirsty? I'll get you some water."

Zork nods slowly, his wound hurts but not nearly as much as it did before, he speaks "I..found Seth..then' he ran off"

DoraRose gets him a cup of water and holds it to his lips. "You found Seth, huh? Didn't hear that part. I'm sure you put up a good fight." She sets the cup down and sits back in her chair, picking up her mending again. "What did you do to him? Did you find anything out about Streamheart?"

Zork coughs as he sips the water, "Clearing, he-coughs- sold her, sold the lass" He groans still very weak, and he tries to sit up and fails, he frowns as he really hates feeling this way.

DoraRose frowns and sets her mending down again. She's barely getting any done at this rate. "I know it's irritating to be helpless like this, but please don't stress yourself. Where would Oz be then?" She moves the wet towel a little. "How do you mean? Sold her? Like, into slavery?" Great. Slavers. Hope not. They really don't need another problem.

Zork nods slowly "Guessing..don't know. Seth used his...blowdart thing, hit my leg, burned and.." He sighs and gives up trying to get up, he is a little dizzy, " He...got away, I...limped here and"

"And Leon and Cera helped you." DoraRose finishes, frowning. She picks up her mending yet again and slowly sews the patch onto the shirt elbow. "Well, at least you got here in time to not die. Pity that jerk got away. Are you in allot of pain right now? I could get a healer to give you something to take it away."

Zork answers, "No. I am...am ok lass, I were afriad some when I got hit with de dart, just don't tell any beast"

Flicktail comes charging in looking about rapidly panting, but he says quietly "I heard Dora Rose were here? where is she?" he smiles obviously the fox likes to visit with her

The couple healers on duty glare at the fox and one says "shhhhhh, we do not run in the infirm"

DoraRose smiles slightly. "Don't worry, I'll tell nobeast." She looks up as the fox charges into the infirm, then exclaims slightly as Caleb shrieks and clambers into her lap, abandoning his toys on the floor. His mother strokes his head, making sure her sewing needle doesn't poke him. "It's alright, it's just Flicktail, don't worry..."

Zork looks at Flicktail and nods slowly, "Flicky...hey"

Flicktail says, "Hey Zork..Hows the poison coming?" he smiles, no he BEAMS at Dora Rose, and then offers Caleb a NEW toy... a soft fluffy stuffed fox toy, white of course....

DoraRose smiles kindly, happily in return. Caleb peeks out of his mothers' apron top, then reaches out and snatches the fox toy and observes it, stroking the fluffiness, turning it over and over again. His mother mouths the words 'thank you' at the Champion.

Zork frowns at Flicktail, he is still weak to do too much but lay on the cot for now.

Flicktail's on cloud 9, DR said THANK YOU to him and he smiles widely then says jovially to zork "Do not frown ol friend, I made sure you be ok before I asked..I am just so THRILLED to see our Dora Rose"

DoraRose blushes a deep red. Great. She is so embarrassed now... She gently tugs the nightshirt she's mending out from under her son and continues to sew, after transferring Caleb's toys from the floor to her sewing basket, of course. "Zork was just telling me about the fight he had with Seth. Seems the rat sold Streamheart to somebeast."

Flicktail sighs "I feel that my Adopted son be shamed of me, 'e never listens, he runs off wi' out me even when I'd go wi' 'im if 'e just told me 'e was goin'"

DoraRose raises an eyebrow. "Adopted son? Haven't heard about that." Caleb is now peeking at the Abbey Champion and smiling shyly, hugging his new toy close.

Flicktail smiles and waggles his fingers at Caleb "Aye His name is Lee"

Caleb hides his face again, squishing his new toy, as his mother 'ahs' and nods. "I see. Well, he's trying to find his true love. What do you expect?" DoraRose smiles. "But back to the problem at paw. We need to try and figure out where Seth is, and who bought Streamheart, and where they would've gone."

Flicktail says, "I expect 'im to let me 'elp"

DoraRose sighs, and is rewarded by Caleb imitating her. "I'm sorry, Flicktail. I'm sure the reason that he didn't tell you was because he didn't want you getting in trouble for leaving the Abbey. He is a little new still. But, please, help me figure this out. What do we know of Seth? He was one of Marec's cronies."

Flicktail says, "aye, and I spared is life last night.... I know wot e looks like now, and E can be hunted"

"NEKRAAAAAAL!" A green bullet flies through the air into Flicky's back! It's Zarok! He recovers from impact and rolls off of Flicky onto a cot, laughing uproariously.

Flicktail ends up all akimno and blinks "Z...Zarok th smooth? kin it BE?"

DoraRose nearly bursts from suppressed laughter as the on-duty healers glare murderously at the monitor and, it turn, the fox. "Be quiet! There are sick and injured beasts in here! Either be quiet and civilized or leave!" The warriormouse has managed to regain her composure enough to look sternly at the lizard. "Zarok. You know better." Caleb peeks at the other Dibbun, smiles, then hides his face in his mothers apron top again.

Zarok's tongue flicks in and out as he tries to think, before raising one paw and hollering out the door, "Hey! Terf! Don't--" WHAM! A smaller red form comes flying in and smashes into Zarok at terminal velocity. The monitor and newt double over laughing.

Flicktail sneaks over toward Caleb to give him a soft gentle tickle

Three very angry looking healers are suddenly standing over the young ones, glaring murderously. "What did we just tell you?!" one of them hisses in a whisper. DoraRose sits foreward and quickly speaks up, quietly and gentely. "I'll watch them. If they cause any more trouble, I'll punish them." The healers, after a few horrible seconds, nod and go back to their business, still sending angry glances to the two young lizard peoples. Caleb peeks out, smiles at the fox, then giggles and hides his face yet again.

Flicktail asks, "Zarok, who's yer friend and where ya been?"

Zarok makes a face at the healers' backs, and Terfil does a very rude gesture, by lizard standards, using his tail and half the claws on his toes. They giggle a bit before saying to Flicktail, "Dis Terfil, r'member? I been learnin' t'ings in Abbeyzzzchool, Flicky!"

Flicktail nuzzles Zarok and Terfil but whispers "make no rude gestures"

DoraRose grabs the monitors' arm and glares. "Zarok! Behave! When I said I'd punish you, I meant it! And I will tan your tail if need be." She sighs and rubs her forehead. "I'm sorry, Zarok. But you two /must/ obey the rules! You are getting older and bigger, and younger beasts like Caleb here are going to start doing what you do. Please be good...if only for my sake. Okay?"

"Yarr, Auntie-boss!" Zarok says, saluting with his tail. Terfil mirrors his gesture solemnly, but he winks at Caleb.

Flicktail says, "And if you want to learn wi' my sword, you must be good beasts"

DoraRose nods and smiles. "Good." Caleb smiles and points at the newt. "What name?"

Zarok nods seriously to both adult beasts. Terfil smiles at the mousebabe, saying, "I Terrrrrrrrrrfil," rolling the 'r' in his name proudly.

Flicktail chuckles and says "Terrrrrrrrrrrrrfil" Flicktail cannot help but Hug Zarok and slide his paws up and down the smooth lizard sides

Zarok hugs Flicky back and smiles, wrapping his long tail around the fox like a scarf. "Heyazz," he buzzes.

Flicktail smiles "I missed you so much Zarok..." he beams to DoraRose he will put Zarok on his shoulder if the lil' beast allows it.

DoraRose smiles in return as her son smiles. "Terrf'l. Hi! I Caleb. What?" His mother turns to the newt and whispers into his ear, "He's wondering what kind of creature you are. He's never seen a newt before!"

Sunwing hops in and looks at all the beasts in the room and tilts her head, "Injuried worm beasts"

Flicktail has come prepaired, whe wa sout fishing and brought the spare worms for Sunwing

"I a Newt!" Terfil says, glowing with pride. Zarok smiles fondly at all of his friends meanwhile.

Caleb smiles. "Newt? You red newt?" DoraRose smiles at the Sparra. "Good day. Yes, but none of us are injured. We're just visiting an injured friend worm."

Sunwing puffs out when she sees the lizards and flaps up to a empty bed railing leaving a feather behind.She nods "I am Sunwing,Queen sparra"

Flicktail smiles and offers Sunwing the plate of worms as he says to Zarok "Terrrrfil be growin quick..like you, have you shed a skin yet?"

"Yarr," Terfil says. Zarok shakes his head. "Not yet, but I shed soon. I lost tail already once," he adds.

DoraRose wrinkles her nose slightly when the fox produces the worms from somewhere, then hides her distaste with a smile. Turning to the Sparra, she introduces herself, saying, "I am DoraRose Strongheart. It's nice to meet you."

Sunwing nods, she looks at the worm and then eats one, well they were offered after all, she nods "Dora be worm friend yes?" She looks around, "Why beasts injuried?"

Flicktail brought them from a stoneware jar from fishing "Because they got hurt Right Zarok?"

"Yarr," Zarok says, nodding sagely. Terfil scrambles up onto his friend's shoulder, giving a toothless smile. "Yup," he says.

DoraRose nods and smiles to the Sparra Queen. "Yes, I am a worm friend. And so is my son here. Caleb, say hi to the Sparra." The little Dibbun smiles shyly at the bird and says, "Hi. What name?"

Flicktail Risks trying to tickle Terfil

Terfil shrieks and giggles, his slimy hide reacting sensitively to the tickling. He rolls over laughing and falls off Zarok onto the bed safely.

Sunwing repeats her name "Sunwing, Queen of Sparra, many, many warriors live above red abbey worm house"

Flicktail says, "I have a description now of Evil red worm Seth you can Killie killiy Killy"

Flicktail uses his tail to wuft the newt

Caleb smiles. "Sun'ing? I Caleb." DoraRose smiles and sews quietly, hoping the fox will describe the rat to the Sparra Queen...and that they'll find him.

Flicktail begins describing the rat in detail....

Zarok falls asleep there on the bed, Terfil perched on top of his friend, guarding.

DoraRose smiles and stuffs the (finally) fully mended nightshirt back into her sewing basket and pulls out a green apron that is now in two peices, and begins to sew the peices back together.

Flicktail says, "Dora I think you be the most Beloved beast inna abbey"

DoraRose blushes again, keeping her gaze on her work. "And what makes you say that, Sir Flick?" Caleb has fallen asleep on his mother's lap, clutching his precious new toy fox close.

Flicktail says, "Because yer the Kindest most Gentlest most beautiful most wunnerful beast anyone knows"

DoraRose blushes a deeper scarlet. "Are you sure about that fact? I am a formidable warrior, y'know. And I would suggest you be careful saying that around Leon..." She has run out of thread on her needle, and now rethreads it and continues sewing.

Flicktail says, "oh verra sure marm, I been asking all beasts I knows...."

If DoraRose blushes any harder, it's gonna become permanent. "Well, alright then. I guess if you've asked every-body-else..." the apron is all sewn back together, and it goes back into the mending basket, and out comes a very ripped Dibbuns' dress.

Flicktail says, "I am honored to know ya Mrs. Rose"

DoraRose smiles. "Thank you, Sir Flick. I'm honored to know you, aswell." She yawns a little, then bundles the sewing into her basket and looks up at the fox. "Shall we go to the kitchen and see if we can get some food? I'm starved."
