About Roseway House
The house is at least a century old, built long ago by a wealthy shipping merchant as a gift for his bride-to-be. Sadly, legend has it that the merchant was lost at sea before the wedding could take place, and the bride dwelt alone in the house from then on. Local tradition holds she became a healer, and cared for the sick in the house-- and they say her spirit, the White Lady of Roseway, still watches over those in need there...
The house has passed through many owners since, most recently the benefactor who willed it to the Order of Redwall. Unfortunately, age and neglect over the decades have left the house and grounds in need of much work. The current residents have been restoring the house since their arrival, and with the help of the Southsward royal house, have repaired the roof and done much to make the place livable again.
At present, there is still a great deal to be done, and the coming seasons will be spent replanting and taming the estate as well as refurbishing the house to serve as a priory, including the construction of an infirmary, dorms, and a classroom.
