Redwall Abbey: Entry
"More to be dry than I found flying home..." She states, happily, shaking her wings free of her sodden sleeves. "The thread, it is cheap, so the market, I think, was good. How are you, Senher Benar? You are enjoying this rain?"
Benar chuckles softly and stands up, "I am good, Iw as enjoying the rain and talking with good Master Udat. Now I think I am a bit too wet." he looks up at the pouring rain and smiles, "It feels good though."
"Oc. But you are not wearing your habit, Senher..." The bat points out, with a friendly smirk. "I am feeling that my habit wishes for me to be even shorter, such it pulls... I do not think this fabric does well in such wet."
Benar laughs softly and picks up the folded, soaking wet material, "I was wearing it, it got too heavy and I like to feel the rain on my fur after all."
"Hm. Oc... Well, I do not think it would be much welcome for to be taking mine off here. For one thing, I do think it should be heavier in my wings than upon me. I do not think I should manage to carry it so well..." She shuffles a little, and then looks up. "It is raining so often, yet both with and without the thundernoise... Summer is always such rain, upon this place?"
Benar looks up at the sky and gerins, "Not normally, this is a wet summer it seems." he smiles and indicates his shorts and vest. "This is why i wear clothing under my habit. SO i can take it off when I have to.
Gwennythe wrinkles her muzzle, considering the idea. "But... Surely this is to be making such days to be... too hot, non?"
Benar smiles, "not really, it is really light cotton. I've never been too hot and if I get too hot I can take my habit off witrhout worry. If anything that thing is going to be too hot."
The little bat nods, slowly, her eyes widening happily as she understands this. "It... should seem obvious, but I have never thought of such a thing, Senher Benar..." She flaps her wings, again to free them from sodden sleeves. "I think, maybe I could make such clothes."
Kisharn Walks out of the abbey looking quite pleased her good eye looks at everyone happily. " hello everyone! how are we all?" and leans on her gnarled stick smiling
Benar looks overe at the weasel and grins, "Wet!" he declares, spreading hsi arms, letting the rain fall down atop him. "But happy. It is nice to see you Kisharn," he winksa t Gwenn, "See! I can help if you like, I can do a bit of sewing,."
"Ben vespre," Gwennythe listens to Benar for the name, and dips her head "M'dam Kisharn. Oc, we are wet... And, that would be welcome, Benar. Thank you."
Kisharn smiles. " it's nice to see you too" and looks up at the rain smiling as it falls on her face and sighs. " i love the rain, feels really nice. especially after a hot day."
Benar grins p at the sky and nods, "Oh yes, the rain, the flow of water through my fur. its lovely, especially aftera long day and hard work."
"Again, I think it is to be better without a habit..." The bat states, joining the others in looking up. "And, it does not make for useful shapes, this rain."
Kisharn, still looking up asks. "how does one join redwalls order?" and blinks as a raindrop hits her unseeing eye.
Amethyst comes up the dirt road alongside Will. It's hard to hear with the rain so she's been staying close to him so as not to get lost. Hearing the voices up ahead she starts to walk faster. "Hello there!" she calls out experimentally toward the voices.
Benar smils, "You just need to let the abbot know you wish to join,. It is a simole as that really." he turns to look at Amethys and peers, "Hello there William, Miss, nice to see you both."
Gwennythe turns her head and waves a little wing towards the rats as they approach, while nodding along with Benar's answer. "Oc. This is how we were to join... Ben vespre!" A greeting called upon the end.
Kisharn looks at the two rats and smiles. "hello there!" And sits down on the grass. " alright. I shall ask him, whenever i see him next."
Will says, "Hi, Benar. Miz Gwen." He comes up beside Amy to introduce her to the others and keep an eye on her. He doesn't know Kisharn so he just waves at her. "This is Amethyst," Will says nodding toward the rat-maid beside him.
Benar nods to her, "Nice to meet you miss Amethyst. welcome to redwall abbey. It is good to see you as well William." he looks up at the rain, shakes out his tail and snorts. "Well with all these people around I thinki I am wet enough and ready to go back into the warm."
Gwennythe dips her head as the ratmaid is introduced. "Oc. Ben vespre, M'dam Amethyst. It is rare that I see Senher William, let alone to meet a friend."
Kisharn stands up and curtseys to the two rats. " pleasure to meet you, my name is Kisharn." And hold out her paw accidentally knocking over a shovel. "oops!" and mutters somethnig about her clumsiness.
Will shakes the weasel's paw, "Nice t meet you Miz Kisharn."
Benar says, "Well Kisharn, I am glad you are thinking about joining the order. If i see the abbot I will make sure to mention your wish to him.""
Gwennythe cringes just a little as the shovel goes over, but doesn't comment on it. She smiles, merely nodding as Benar mentions the Abbot.
Amethyst turns her head as the shovel falls, "Something fell over." Hearing the squirrel say he's going in she calls, "It was nice t met you Benar."
Kisharn quietly picks the shovel up and asks everyone. "would anyone like something from the kitchens?"
Will shakes his head, "Not right now. ... Thank you."
Benar smuiles and nods to all, "I'll see ytou all later, take care now everyone." he heads up the steps and inside.
Gwennythe says, "Non. Thankyou, though. But I shall eat later tonight. As long as this rain does, um... become less."
Amethyst closes her eyes and lets the rain fall on her. "Mmm? No thank you. I've eaten already."
Kisharn nods " alright." and heads off for the kitchens and returns with a mug of blueberry cordial. she sits down careful not to knock any more objects over.
Gwennythe regards Kisharn with a friendly, if not slightly bemused smile. "You will rest and drink out here? In such wet?"
Kisharn chuckles "the rain does not bother me. I never had much of a roof over my head to keep it off so ive grown used to it." and sips her cordial.
Gwennythe nods a little. "I see." She watches the weasel for a moment, as if puzzled by the idea, and then shuffles, as the accumulated water begins to make her feel rather cold in her habit. "Um. I think I will go inside, oc, so as to not wear this wet... I should not wish to be ill..."
Deadbrush walks into the entrance but seeing several other beasts present says nothing, simply stops and looks at them.
Kisharn nods and smiles. " alright. I may head inside in a bit. But for now i'll enjoy the rain while it lasts." and looks up at the sky smiling.
The little bat shuffles her way into the warm and dry, nodding and offering a bright little greeting of "Ben vespre!" to Deadbrush as she goes. With a twitch of her ears, once she's inside, she flaps up to her favourite attic.
Will nods, "Ok. Bye, Miz Gwen." He turns to Amethyst, "You wanta go inside or stay out here in th rain?"
Amethyst shrugs, "It doesn't really matter. Either's fine with me. Sounds like everybeast is going in now. Or nearly everybeast." She nods as Kisharn goes in and another beast walks up, she's not sure where Deadbrush is since she's only heard him arrive and not leave yet.
Fae Walks into the clearing and see the small group of beasts and waves. " hello. Enjoying the rain?" and briefly looks up at the sky.
Deadbrush speaks suddenly, to know beast in particular " anyone seen a ferret dressed in other beasts skins and covered in painted dyes..." he mutters quietly but loud enough to be heard. He looks about as if expecting to see him suddenly.
Will smiles and waves at the vixen, "Hello Miz Fae. We have been and we're just heading in now. Well, Amy an I are." He turns to look at Deadbrush not that he's spoken, "No I haven't. Seen a fox little like that before but never a ferret."
Fae looks at the grey fox. "erm....I've never seen any ferrets like that." and smiles and nods to Will.
Amethyst is still enjoying the rain with her eyes closed as she leans on her staff. She ignores the foxes seeing no reason to not to.
Deadbrush nods and shakes the rain from his muzzle, "Do they still keep regular look outs at this place?...been a while since i was back 'ere...". He glances up at the wall but turns away swiftly as the rain falls in his eyes
Will takes Amethyst's arm to lead the blind rat-maid in side, "Pretty sure they do. An they got an Abbey Champion now. His name's Flicktail. Ya can tell th Abbot or Flicky an they'll keep an eye out for th ferret if ya want."
Deadbrush nods " i'll have a word to em, thankye, are there any rovin' bands of vermin been spotted in the past season or two? I'm sure they'll pass by 'ere sooner or later..." he looks at the pair, "are ye headin' back inside?"
Amethyst lets herself be lead towards the doors of the Great Hall, "Looks that way. Though not so much back inside as just inside since we weren't in there to start with."
Will says, "You're welcome. I don't really know. We don't live at th Abbey. We're just visiting."
Deadbrush nods again " I see, fair enough, thank ye for yer 'elp..." the old fox follows the pair as they head towards the abbey.
Redwall Abbey: Great Hall
Deadbrush takes a seat in a big old armchair near the fire and stirs it with a large poker. " so are ye stayin' at the abbey? Where be ye from?" the old fox gazes around the room, noting the large magnificent tapestry on the wall.
Will guides Amy to a chair at the table and take a seat next to her. "We're visiting not staying. Not from any place really ... we live in th woods." Will doesn't know this fox and isn't about to tell him much without knowing what kind of beast he is first.
Deadbrush nods and sighs " well i been on the trail of that ferret for seasons...but lost all trace of 'im two seasons back...was hopin' he passed by this 'ere abbey, no such luck eh mates.." the fox continues stirring the fire
Amethyst listens the males talking and the brothers and sisters moving around here and there. It's not very busy at the Abbey during the summer even with many beasts staying in due to the rain. "Guess not," she says joining the conversation if only for the moment. She pulls out her lute to check if it got damaged any by the rain.
Fae walks down the stairs into the great hall smiling and waves to the small group of beasts and sits at the table. "hello again."
Will smiles, "Hello, Miz Fae."
Deadbrush asks casually "so why you live out in the woods when you got a nice big cosy abbey right 'ere eh..." he stirs the fire some more, sparks showering out a bit as the flames build higher. He barely notices the other beast entering.
Will states flatly, "Abbey doesn't suit everybeast."
Fae watches the fire and smiles. " some people don't like stayin at the abbey i guess" and pulls out a book entitled: History of mossflower volume 1
Amethyst turns her head toward the fox's voice as she tunes her lute, "This is only my second time at th Abbey and I already live somewhere else so no need t move."
Aine walks into the Great Hall from the stairs she goes and sits at one of the tables near the tapestry and just stares at it.
Deadbrush gives a harsh cackle, quite disturbing sounding "hahahahahaa...too right, i wouldn't stay in this abbey long either...there's a whole world to be explored out there, i only use it as a stop over on me travels." the old fox looks like a ghost as the flames flicker around his grey fur.
Fae smiles " I used to travel lots. but i decided that the life of a traveler wasn't for me." and continues to read her book intently
Aine just sits at the table listening to the conversation and staring at the tapestry.
Will watches Aine as she comes in before turning his attention back to the fox. "... used t explore a lot ... not as much now though got other things t do instead."
Fae looks at aine and smiles " It's a nice tapestry isn't it. I wish my tapestry weaving skills were as good as the ones who made that" and looks at the tapestry also
Amethyst smelt the cat before she'd gotten to the table where the rats are sitting. The maid stiffens and grips Will's arm tighter. "... I uh wonder if it's still raining." she asks trying to ignore the cat since no else is responding to her yet.
Aine looks at Fae and smiles."It is nice never seen one quite like it."
Fae smiles and nods. " neither have i. must have taken ages just to make it" and puts her book on the table and prepares some tea.
Deadbrush glances at the tapestry and smirks " hope this flicktail can live up to the beast on the tapestry if that ferret and his band come a callin'..." the old fox laughs again, stirring the fire some more.
Fae frowns and looks at the other fox. " who is this ferret?" and pulls some teabags from her pocket.
Will grins, "I think Flicky can. After all he was picked an marked by Martin t be th Abbey Champion and he's an OtterFox that's gotta count for somethin'."
Aine watches the animals near the fire she gets up and walks towards them.
Amethyst can hear and smell the cat getting closer. She whispers something to Will and wanting to stay here with a cat around.
Deadbrush laughs again "an otterfox? Sounds like his brains were addled along the way." The fox becomes serious suddenly "As for the the ferret, he's the most vile, evil and dangerous beast i ever came across in all my long seasons, the way he hunts down and kills anythin then skins em and wears there fur as a trophy...not safe with 'im around...".
Fae frowns again " w-whats this ferret's name?" and pours some tea.
Aine smiles as she walks over and sits near the fire.
Will sighs and looks over to Aine before getting up. He doesn't mind the cat being there but it clearly bothers Amy a great deal. "Well, It seems we'll be on our way, been gone too long I'm told. Wouldn't want Pa t have t come lookin for us. We'll come back by again another day. Good day everyone." he helps Amy to her feet and walks with her out of the Great Hall.
Moledeep: Mole Hall
Both Garnet and Kentar are sitting in the hall, the stoats are sitting next to each other. Garnet's paw is on her belly, and Kentar's paw is on her shoulder gently. "Well. How about the forest?" he suggests to her. "Maybe. It sounds like a nice idea."
Aikuen comes in from the outside... and the cooling summer rain. The otter is damp, but he doesn't care much. He enters Molehall, smiles and waves at both beasts already there, "Evening stoats..." as he goes to his chair at the table, and puts his feet up on the table. He seems happy enough, especially with the return of Fira in his life... and he has a small little grin on his face, as he just rests in the chair.
Will comes in from outside with Amy close behind. Both are soaked though neither seem to care about that. Will leads the blind maid to a chair before sitting down himself. "We're back from th Abbey," he says seeing the others
"Evening Uncle!" Kentar makes a little squeaky voice, pretending to be the little stoat that has yet to appear in their lives. "Heheh. Evening Aikuen." Garnet greets with a soft smile. "Raining out I see?" Kentar peers towards the door. And he sees rats instead. "Wow. Must be raining rats."
Aikuen snorts, "Raining Rats... shrews and cats out there..." he laughs, as he likes the rain. He waves lazily to the rats, "We must just have missed you outside... I just came in to rest a bit... from... outside" yah that'll work. He stretches in his chair and peers at the stoats and chuckles to himself. And then he looks to the rats, and almost burst out laughing at their wet condition.
Amethyst is again checking her lute for water damage. "Hi stoats and Aik. Thankfully it's only raining water not ... other things."
Will leans back in his chair, "There was a fox stoppin by th Abbey while we were there. He was askin' if anybeast had seen some vermin weasel he's been tracking for a long time. Said he'd lost track of him two seasons ago and wanted t know if any beast had seen him or his band around. I told him t tell th Abbot an Flicky if he needs help. Didn't hear anymore about it cause Amy wanted t come back here."
Amethyst is again tuning her lute and refrains from commenting.
Kentar Blinks a little and then nods. "Never hear of no weasel like that." the stoat nods a little before looking around a bit and then frowning. "Well. That crashed a good mood." the stoat blinks and yawns.
Will says, "Sorry ... Yeah th rain is good."
Kentar is obviously not in such a good mood anymore. "That might change the wedding plans. IF there's a band of raiders going around, we might have to change the wedding location." he looks at Garnet for a moment.
Aikuen looks to the stoats, and takes his feet of the table, "Wedding location? Where did you plan on having it anyway?" He places his paws on the table and starts tapping, "Because Moledeep is almost quite hidden... and... it depends on how many raiders there are also..." he scratches his head as he thinks.
Kentar sighs and leans on the table. "We were going to have it in a clearing we found near the river." he says. "But not if there's a threat of raiders."
Aikuen nods, "Aye, I can understand that..." he then thinks for a minute before continuing, "Soooo.... are you gonna postpone the wedding... Are is there another place you had in mind..." he yawns and blinks a few times, and then looks back at the table.
Amethyst plucks at her lute a little, "The fox doesn't know where the weasel is and was asking if he'd been seen around the Abbey and no beast had heard of him so he hasn't been around the Abbey. Camp Willow isn't far from here and I know their guards keep a close eye on things in this part of the woods though it is true most of them don't seem to know about us. Or they might and they just don't see us as a threat."
Kentar shakes his head. "We postponed it once already and moved it two days from now." he says. "We don't do it again. We'll probably discuss it tonight and see if we'll get married in the same place." he sighs a little then looking to Amy. "Then I suppose its a good thing." he nods a little finally placing his paws on Garnet's paws again.
Aikuen shrugs a little bit, "Whatever you want to do... But I'm gonna have to go with Amy on this... But there is always a chance anywhere you have it... Including here... it would just be less of a chance..." he hmms a bit, thinking about going outside in the rain again... He did leave Fira out there... "Just give me the day... once you have decided... so i can start preparing...
Kentar nods. "We're going to go with the day after tomorrow. That is what we will do. If it changes, we will tell you." he smiles a bit. "We're going to have a cake too." the stoat grins
Aikuen smiles, and mentally places the date on his to-do list, "Alright thanks...." he blinks a few times and looks back to them, "How are you gonna have a cake? We have no flour... You make cake with flour right? Or am i just losing it..." he grunts as he tries to remember, "Yes... cake has flour in it... yes..."
Will looks over to Aikuen, "Weren't you an Stepmum going t th Abbey t get more flour once she wasn't mad at you anymore or something like that?" he asks.
Kentar blinks then sighs. "I thought someone went to get flour." he says before shrugging. "I'll make the supply run tomorrow and bring back what we need."
Aikuen looks to Will and nods. Yes he did say that, but since Fira has been talking to him, they have been mostly busy, but a trip to the abbey might be good for both of them. The otter holds a paw in the direction of Kentar, "No... You don't have too... I said that we would go... And we will go..." he stands up and stretches a little bit, "Besides there is some other things i need to pick up at the abbey... Is there anything else that we need?"
Amethyst thinks a bit, "Fabric maybe. The blankets and stuff here are really old and our clothes will only last so long. And babies grow very fast."
Kentar blinks and then frowns slightly. "Alright. You can go if you want. But I'm going too! I have. Something to pick up." he nods a little.
Aikuen says, "I meant.... for the next couple of weeks...not for the next few seasons... But cloth and fabric, alright ill see what i can scrounge up..." he then hears Kentar, and closes his eyes. Well he wanted to spend some more alone time with Fira, "Alright... I'm not gonna stop you..." he grunts a little bit, "I plan to leave in a few hours, depending on what Fi says... Spend the night at the abbey, then come back tomorrow... If you still want to go..."
Kentar sighs a bit and thinks for a few moments. "I don't know." he says. "Yeah. I do need to get a few things. Sorry to be a third wing, Aik."
Amethyst shrugs, "Doesn't hurt t be prepared."
Will closes his eye and leans farther back in his chair thinking about what the fox at the Abbey had said.
Aikuen shrugs and smiles, "Nah, its okay mate, you can help us carry the stuff back... there is a bunch of things we are gonna get... and it will be nice to have another set of arms..." he chuckles and looks to Amy, "Hey, i said I'm getting the cloth... but I'm still only getting enough supplies for a couple of weeks... like the first time we came here..." he takes a deep breath, "I'm gonna go outside... if you want to go, come out before nightfall... we will wait till then..." he smiles a little bit as he walks out of the tunnel.
Kentar watches Aik go off then sighs a little. "Do I want to go?" he asks Garnet. She just shrugs. "He probably wants alone time with Fira, but I'd planned on going to the abbey before the wedding sometime..." he thinks. "I don't know."
Will chews on his lip some, "Th Abbey's real big ... but ya do go you'll likely have t sleep in th bunk room or one th dorm rooms. Pa doesn't course cause he still has his own room there. The Abbey's has lots of rooms ... If you want t go just go you don't have t be around them if you don't want to. Or you could go a different day instead if it bothers you that much." He's trying to helpful but it can be hard to tell if a beast is talking to themself or to another or the whole room when you can hear them so well
Kentar nods slightly. Garnet yawns and goes off to bed, knowing Kentar will follow son. "So." he waits until Garnet is out of hearing range. "I'm only going to the abbey to get Garnet something."
Amethyst blinks trying to stay awake, "Good for you." She smiles a little, "What is it?"
Kentar smiles. "Well. Its a necklace. I made it from pure gold when we first met. I melted down a few of my rings and such to make it. They meant a lot to me, and well. She does too, so I thought that the necklace would be a good idea. But I left it at the abbey and I really want to go get it to give to her on our wedding day."
Amethyst Aws, "Well, go get it. If the otters don't like you coming along they can go hide from you in Aik's room, he apparently still has. The Abbey must not be in need of spare rooms or they're very slow about reassigning them after beasts leave."
Kentar smiles. "Yeah." he nods a little. "I'm really looking forward to giving it to her. Its real nice and will look great on her." the stoat laughs and claps his paws together once. "I cant wait! Day after tomorrow, I'll be married to the beast I love!"
There's a dull clunk as the front legs of Will's chair return to the floor. The rat stretches and gets up, "Congratulations. I'm going t bed. Night." He wanders off to the cellar where it's nice and cool since it's still raining outside.
Kentar waves at Will and then nods. "Night Will." the stoat yawns before standing. "I think, I'm going to go join Garnet. Sleep well Amy. I won't be here in the morning, I'll run after the otters. They can have their alone time."
Amethyst yawns, "Night. I think I'll head t bed too. Guess I'll hear from you when you get back."
Kentar nods. "Do you want help finding your room?" he asks.
Amethyst grins, "I know where my room is," she points toward the cellar where Will when, "it's that way. I don't alway sleep there but I know where it is and no matter what certain otters say it /is/ my room." She stands and with staff in paw heads toward the cellar.
Kentar nods and smiles. "Well then. Sleep well Amy." he smiles before going off to his and Garnet's room.
