A Lazy Day

Characters: Aikuen, Kentar, Will

Moledeep: Dibbun's Garden

Aikuen is floating around the pond, humming, whilst he floats. His wife is off, somewhere... and since he doesn't have to take care of Chris, Aik decides that this is the place to be. He slowly uses his rudder as a paddle to putt around the pond, dodging reeds and such. Its a happy day it seems.

Kentar comes out to the pond to sit down after having played a while with Chris. Both his wife and Chris are now napping and he's due for a break. "Hey Aikuen." he waves when he spots the otter.

Will walks into the garden with his book planing to finish it while waiting on his latest project to bake in the kiln. The rat waves at Aikuen and Kentar a little before settling down on the grass to read the last story in 'Chilling Tales of Cluny the Scourge and Other Stories'. He sits just far enough from the pond to not get splashed.

Aikuen cracks an eye open, when he is called. He waves a lazy paw in the air, "Hiya Kentar... How are you, on this day of all days!" he chuckles. He then spots Will, "Hiya Will!" he grins and paddles a little more.

Kentar smiles and shrugs a little. "I'm tired. My whiskers are sore." he smirks a little. "Chris just loves to pull on them." The stoat slowly shakes his head before he spots will. "Hey Will!" he smiles.

Will looks up from his book and waves at the otter again, "I'm fine. He glances over at the stoat wondering if he'd heard his request last night. He hopes so and returns to his book after sending a quick, "Hi." to Kentar.

Aikuen smiles and paddles over to Kentar, going to rest his arms against the side, "That is to be expected! I wonder if he will grow of out it!" He rubs at his muzzle, "I hope so... Chris has pulled out like seven of mine already..." he grumbles, "Anyways, Where is the rest of your stoaty family? Not enjoying the sun, i see!" he smirks.

Kentar shakes his head and laughs. "They're both napping." he laughs. "Too much playing with Chris I guess." the stoat nods a little, smirking. "And Kluna...I don't know." he laughs a little.

Aikuen nods, "I see, well... they can enjoy it later!" He dips into the pond and reemerges and shakes the water from his head, "Chris can be such a handful... Luckily he is not a otter..." He smirks again, "I saw Kluna this morning, gave us a picture of me and Fira... It looked really good! The little weasel is an artist!" he grins.

Will's ears keep tabs on the talking going on around him as he reads his book.

Kentar laughs and nods. "And he's very, very good at it. I'm so glad he didn't turn out like he might of on that ship." he nods before looking around a little to Will. Thinking Will is enjoying the book, he doesn't say much.

Aikuen scratches his head, "Oh... you mean a Pirate..." he nods, "Well... I'm so glad too... I like him... When i see him at least... seems like he is not afraid of otters anymore... or at least, me and Fira..." he hmms, "Just good thing he doesn't act like a Pirate... That's always good" He already knows what Will is reading, and if he likes it. Why not!

Kentar nods. The stoat chuckles a little. "Yeah. You know. I've been thinking a lot lately about Kluna." he says, scratching his head. "Just about what he was on the ship and everything. That I lied to him to get him to let me go. And how that one lie made him my son." He chuckles a little.

Will is enjoying his book, mostly and is on the last few pages now. He flicks a ear at the others' talking, "It is good that he's not there anymore." He lays the book down, now finished with it.

Aikuen shrugs, "Sometimes the world works in mysterious ways... Just be glad it worked for the better..." he sighs, "For example... If i wasn't booted from my home... i might have never met Will... Or Fira... Or you... and everyone else... And i might be laying a ditch rotting in the sun... I think it worked out for the better... What do you think? Think it turned out for the better for him?" he tilts his head.

Kentar nods slowly and then looks at Will. "Yeah." he nods a little then looks back towards Aikuen. He'd start a group hug if Will was closer. "Will...come here for a sec. I Have something for you."

"Don't forget, Pa, wasn't for me ya'd still be sittin' in th Great Hall drunk. Or sitting outside it more likely." He stands up at Kentar's request. "Ok," he says walking over closer to the pond.

Aikuen smiles and nods, "Yeah Will, I know... " he chuckles tilting his head, wondering what Kentar is planing.

As soon as Will is in range, Kentar tries to pull both the otter and the rat into a big group hug. "You guys really are the best, you know?"

Aikuen uffs, as he is pulled into a hug, "Whoh! matey!" he smiles and pats him on the shoulder, "Thanks, your not so bad yourself! NO!, YOUR THE BEST!" he laughs stupidly, and continues to hold them both.

Will squeaks a little as he's caught off guard and the stoat hugs him and Aikuen. He doesn't mind hugs too much if their quick or they're his idea which this was not. "Yeah. Thanks. What he said," the rat agrees somewhat waiting for the stoat to release him.

Kentar hugs them tight then lets go. "You guys really are the best friends I have." the stoat chuckles quietly before laying back and staring into the sky

Aikuen smiles and lets go of them. He likes hugs regardless, "And you guys are mine... You little stoat you! And you! Oh son of mine!" he tilts his head, and shakes its, "That was weird... what I said..." he chuckles and slips back into the water. He could give them both a quick drench, but that would be too much fun!

Will doesn't let go since he wasn't holding on to anybeast to start with. The rat laughs at the otter's weirdness and plops back down on the grass to watch him swim around.

Kentar smiles a little and watches them for a few moments, then laughs at Aikuen. "heheh." he smiles.

Aikuen eyes them both, and makes a motion that he is going to splash them, but doesn't at the last second, "HAHAHA! I'm not that mean!" he grins, and plops his arms near Will, "So Will! How you like that book! Is it dark and scary enough for yah?" He laughs evilly.

Kentar blinks and falls back in an effort to protect himself from getting splashed. "Why you little..." he stands up and leaves. He seemed quite annoyed.

Aikuen blinks a few times, at Kentar, "Eh matey? Where yah going?!" He seems quiet alarmed. He hops out of the pond, and makes to follow the stoat, "Matey! Whats wrong! It was just a joke! And besides its only water..." he places a wet paw on his shoulder.

Kentar stops as soon as the paw is on his shoulder. The stoat grins to himself before turning around, charging the otter, trying to hoist him over his shoulder before diving into the water with the otter around his shoulder.

Aikuen is caught off guard, "What the!" he is hoisted and dove back first into the water. He swallows a lot of water, and breaches the surface after managing to get away from the stoat. He coughs, "YOU LITTLE BUGGAR!" he grumbles, and splasher the stoat he come to the surface.

Will had put his arms up to shield himself from the splash that never came. Hearing the otter's laughter he tries to splash at him and answers, "I was alright," and then the stoat is running toward the otter in the pond! Will is quick to move out of Kentar's way but gets splashed as the stoat and otter dive into the water. "Hey!" Will cries out as he gets wet and splashes at the pair of beasts in the water from the pond's edge before taking Aikuen's lead and switching to just splashing the stoat instead of both of them.

Kentar comes to the surface and laughs. "Ahahaha!" he meeps as he's splashed before ducking under the water again. He doesn't come back up yet. He gets right next to the shore before popping up in front of Will, trying to pull him in without getting seen before hand, then diving back under.

Aikuen splashes the stoat until he goes back under again. He tilts his head and watches him a bit, then noticing what he is doing, he grins and acts like its still just him and Kentar, "Come mere you little stoat-fish...." he mockingly swims so the stoat has some room, to do what he wants to do.

Will is grabbed and pulled under before he can do anything to stop the stoat. He takes in a mouthful of water before closing his mouth. He thrashes around and kicks at the stoat in an effort to get away from him. He doesn't want to hurt the stoat but he doesn't want to drown either so while he isn't trying to attack the stoat pre say he's still fighting him off without holding back too much. When he gets to the surface he coughs and treads water as he tries to figure out where to the other two are grinning a little despite being dragged under like he was.

Kentar laughs loudly and breaches water, he let go of the rat without trouble. "Hahahaha. You two are so fun." he laughs, now treading water himself.

Aikuen rolls his eyes at the stoat, "You're such a goofball..." he splashes him, "Well i'm glad the pond is being used. Except being dragged into the pond wasn't one of my ideas for it..." he shakes his head, and splashes the stoat again. He slowly treads water

Will ducks down and gets a mouthful of water before slipping under the surface planning to come up near the stoat and squirt the water at his for dragging him under

Kentar laughs and smiles before blinking at Will. "Oh...why you little." he splashes at Will then laughs, floating on his back and drifting to sleep.

Aikuen shakes his head at the Pair, "You guys are silly!" he chuckles he dives quickly and comes up under Will, placing on his stomach, as he putts around again on his back, "Well it seems the ole floater has drifted off..." he smiles.

Will laughs at the stoat and splashes him a little before letting him alone to float in his sleep. The rat blinks a bit as the otter come up under him and he finds himself sitting on Aikuen. "Hi. Yeah he did," Will grins at the otter.

Aikuen places his footpaws against the side, and pushes off shooting across the pond, leaving the sleeping stoat to bob around on his own, "Lets go get some rocks, and place it on his stomach, see how many it takes until he sinks or wakes up!" he chuckles, and moves his rudder, to move them around.

Will chuckles a little, "Ok. But don't let him drown."

Aikuen winks at his son, "Oh... Okay then...I wont let him" seeming put down at that, but he is just jesting. He grins, he goes over to one side of the pond, collecting some nearby pebbles and placing them on his chest, "Grab as much as you can!" he smirks.

Will fills both paws full of pebbles and arranges them in a pyramid like heap on the stoat's stomach once they get back over to him.

The floating sleeping stoat, barely even goes under the heap of rocks that both the rattling and otter place on him. Aik frowns and takes on of the smaller rocks and places it on the stoats forehead, "Sleeps like a... a... Rock!" he chuckles.

Aikuen grins as the 'bob' floats away from them, he starts to swim around the stoat, and soon to the stoat is twirling in a cirlce, "Looks like the stoat is caught in a whirlpool!" he chuckles and places what's left of their rocks on random places, likes his knees, and arms. He laughs, after all this, the stoat refuses to wake. Chris must have worn him out!

Will laughs at the otter's joke. "I think Chris could tire any beast out given enough time," he says leaning back against the otter lazily.

Aikuen smiles, and lightly scruffs Will head. He likes this, and he misses this. Just him, and his son... without a care in the world. He still putts around the pond, slowing down just enough, to not create noticeable movement, "The little nut hasn't tired me out... course i have had experience in taking care of little nuts!" he laughs and places his paws behind his head, "I like this... Lazy afternoon!"

Will smiles as his head is scruffed. He lays down using the otter as a floating bed of sorts. "Yep. ..... It is nice today. It'll be nicer when th weather gets cooler though," the rat says closing his eye to rest a while.

Aikuen nods a little bit, "Yep... Autumn is almost here... and you now what that means!" he grins.

Will grins widely, "They'll have deeper n ever pie at th Abbey but you're probably thinking of something else. .... We'll have more work t do t get ready for when winter comes and need t clean out th fireplace in th garden burrow and other stuff. I was thinking when it gets colder we'll probably eat in there where th fire is stead of th hall."

Aikuen chuckles and shakes his head, "Well yes, i guess that is true also... But not what i was thinking!" He smirks and starts to allude to it, "So Will! What should we name the boat when we get it... I was thinking of the 'The Drunken otter' or how about, 'The one-eyed rat' What do you think?" he grins.

"Oh, our boat trip," the rat says starting to chew on his lip. After a short while he says, "I don't know. .... would Constance be a good name? .... maybe we could ask Stepmum an th others what they want t call it."

Aikuen nods, "Constance eh? Like the badger of old... Sure! Why not!" he chuckles, "Ill ask, but i don't see a problem with Constance... Its not a very good name for a boat, but its our boat... and who cares if it isn't!" he chuckles a little bit, and pushes off against the other side, "This boat trip is going to be fun! Haven't been on one in seasons, since i first came here... May have to jump of the side several times!" he laughs.

Will says, "Kinda." That wasn't the Constance he'd been thinking of but he'll let the otter think whatever he wants too. "Can't be any worse than 'Woodship' I'd think but if they don't like it they can come up with a different name for it."

Aikuen snorts, "'Woodship'?" he chuckles, "What an odd name..." he smiles, "I could care less... as long as they don't call it the 'Fluffy Bunny' i'm okay with anything... And of course if it floats... But i'm not going to be looking for a bargain... I'm looking for the biggest bloomin ship in the harbor!" he grins evilly.

Will nods still laying back against the otter, ".... biggest they've got? Where are we going?"

Aikuen hmms for a little bit, "Umm... Oh geeze i forgot the name of the place!" he chuckles, "HehHeh! Bad memory... Well remember the harbor when we went to the west coast for the first time... and i got hit in the noggin by some rat pirate... that's the place... Do you remember the name? I remember where it is... just not the name..." he hmms a bit more, trying to figure it out.

Will chews on his lip trying to think where that was. They went to so many places on that trip, mostly taverns. "... Hmm. I don't remember either. But if you know where it is and I think I do too, then we should be able t get there without too much trouble."

Aikuen nods, "Exactly! since its a harbor and such, it should have a shipbuilder, and they sell ships! At least i hope so... Anyways, before we head off, we need to stop at the abbey for supplies... and other things..." like his well hid money, "I know you take the river west... then go south on the shore, not that hard to find!" he laughs, and bounces against the sleeping stoat.

Will nods, "Yeah. So we going th same way as last time t get there?"

Aikuen smiles, "Yep, just like last time! And we will still stop at taverns to rest... just like last time. But this time, i will remember to bring my own dern tea!" he chuckles, then tilts his head, "You tired Will?" why does he even ask that, as his son has already fallen asleep. He silently chuckles as he slowly gets out of the pond, and walks Will over to the Kiln. Just to make sure that if the rat had anything cooking, he would know so that they wouldn't break and stuff. After making sure that there wouldn't be pottery shrapnel, Aik goes back to making sure the stoat doesn't drown. After a few hours or so, Fira came back from wandering, and she plops next to Aik to rest. The otter smiles and rest his head against hers, "Hey Fi... What do you think for a name of a boat...'The beautiful Otter'?"
