A Boat for a Stoat
Characters: Tagger, Buck
Location: Panov
Its another lovely day here in Panov. The sun is shiny and the ocean laps quietly against the TOTALATARIN SOCIETY! Tagg grumbles to himself as he hangs around the market, at all the fake happy beasts. He sorta wishes that he wasn't in the know. Sometimes. Ignorenece is bliss. He walks around the shopping are as he looks at all the wares. Garo is not with him today, which is cool. Gives him some otter time and allows him to be his al'naturale self. The market is surprisingly busy today as the otter looks over an egg looking... thing.
Well, the day was just about to change for poor ole Tagger! Sure, everyone was faking being happy, well, most everyone anyway. But one beast, a stoat, probably a pirate, with a straaange accent appears. "G'day mate!" he greets the otter from behind before offering out a flyer with a picture, an OLD picture, of Kentar on it. "Lookin' for this stoat! Have ya seen 'em?" he seems nice enough.
Tagger hmms at the egg then backs away quickly at the price, "Ummm... Nah. Ill... Ill think it over mate..." he shakes his head before semi running into the other beast. He blinks at him before his eyes going wide, as he has NEVER heard that accent before, "Hiya..." he offers back before taking the flyer and then his eyes nearly pop out of his noggin. HOLY SNAP Kentar! He blinks at it before gulping to himself, "Errr... No... I haven't actually. Why... What has he done... You know... In case i meet him..." he tries to seem nonchalant as much as he can.
"Hm? Oh notta thing, mate! I was hired to find 'em and bring 'em home for some...will readin' or sommat." The captain nods before smiling, giving the flyer to the otter. "Lemme know if you see 'em! Gotta leave by tomorrow mornin'." he nods, turning, starting to trot down the path
Tagger blinks at the page, then blinks at the pirate stoat. He wonders if he SHOULD tell the stoat about the other stoat. He shrugs as he tucks the flyer into his belt, making off after him, "Oi! Wait up mate... I er... I just realized who was in the picture... He is my friend... what kinda readin and somat?" he clicks his tongue, "And whatever..." he sighs, stupid accents.
Quickly, the stoat turns and eyes the otter carefully before smiling. "Oh! Well if thats the the case" he approaches the otter. "Just tell him that he's got a boat waiting for him at the docks tomorrow! Big boat, red hull, tall white sails...can't miss'er!" he nods. "Give him this, he'll know its true." he offers out a small piece of parchment that's closed with a red seal.
Tagger is still a little wary about beasts in this town after what happened. Though at the mention of a ship he nods, expecting this is what we have been looking for. He takes the rolled parchment from the stoat and nods, "Aye i will. And thank ye!" he nods at the stoat before looking at the seal. He hums, and WISHES he could open it. But probably best to let Kentar see it first, "Hmmm. What be your name?" he asks, "Er. So i can tell him."
The stoat grins and offers a fairly ROUGH smack to the otter's shoulder, of course, all good natured of course. "Name's Buck! Capin' Bucko!" he nods. "Of the Ocean's End!" he grins. The sea captain smiles "Y'can tell Kentar that we'll be waiting, but by mid day tomorrow, we'll be gone...dead line an' all that!"
Tagger laughs and then arghs at being punched in the shoulder. He rubs at it and mouths ow before chuckling, "Alright Captain Buck. I will be sure to tell him. We will be ready before the morn, im sure of it..." the otter nods before saluting the stoat and heading back toward the Inn, see if he can find Kenty.
The stoat nods his head and waves off, turning. Its clear he's quite happy, singing a sea shanty as he goes. Some beasts just glance at him as they go. "G'day, g'day!" he greets as he vanishes down near the end of the path
