Salamandastron: Caverns
- -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Salamandastron *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
These are the deepest, most catacomb-like passages and caverns, the ones that
go into the the bowels of the mountain. These cold dark caverns are sparsely
lit and contain several dead-end passages. Few hares frequent here. This
area is the most catacomb-like not only because of its physical appearance,
but also because some of the caverns which the passages lead to serve as tombs
for slain comrades. Several of the passages lead off to holding cells for
captured prisoners.

Aww, look at the ickle recruits filing out of the archery range looking disgruntled! Taye must've just given them a lesson! The buck leans into the doorway to look out after them, shaking his head with mild disgust. Not a shred of talent in the bunch. Not a shred!
It's like a sea of middle schoolers all getting out of class at once. You can almost hear the ringing of the class bell. Rah parts them with his body; they break around him, arresting his forward progress in a most annoying fashion. "C'mon, kiddos, keep movin'." The gabbing pairs are the worst, he can't even slip between them. But think of the tasty gossip he misses! Anyway. When the pack is reduced to just the few scrabblers, Rah would be visible-quite visible indeed with that blazing white he sports-to Taye.
When Taye spies his dad, the put-out expression fades into the background, just still visible in a slight wrinkle to his brow. He flashes a grin, pushing his shoulder off the door frame to propel himself forward. "Hey, da'. How's it goin'?" Mind you, he stays /out/ of ruffle range.
You can't stay out of ruffle range. It's impossible. Rah is still moving forward when Taye does and up comes the paw and... ruffle! He's not even cognizant of any resistance to it. It is simply as natural as saying hello, now. "Pretty good, kiddo." Yep, Taye has not yet graduated from kiddo status. Maybe he never will. "'Cha doin'? Makin' a whole buncha recruits unhappy, seems like."
Fiona has arrived.
Siiiiigh. XD The head ruffle. He tolerates it with a grimacing smile and a roll of his eyes. But! Recruits! He sends a waspish look after them. "They're awful... /awful/. And one of them shot me with a dull point!" They can't be trusted with pointed arrows, bah. He lifts up his shirt in the back, twisting around to reveal a sizeable welt. "/Shot/ me." Tsk.
Waspish indeed. If looks could... sting. Rah's eyes turn down and he tilts his head sideways, admiring the sizable welt. "I dunno," muses the elder buck. "Are y'sure it wasn't intentional? Would be easy jus' t' 'slip' an' hit th'hated an' feared lieutenant."
"Well, I cuffed 'im one anyway." Taye's muzzle twists in a faint grin. About the ears, you know. Nothing bad. He's not a brute or something. "So eithah way." He's covered.
Rahier shakes his head. "Hope y'cuffed 'im hard. Fire discipline is damn important." Then, of course, he sidles up to his kiddo and slings his arm across Taye's shoulders. "So how y'/really/ been, Taye? Haven't talked t'you in a dog's age."
Hum. "... Well. Y'know. I've been okay." His eyes glance around a little, a cursory check of the area. "Me 'n' Aiden broke it off a while back. But, ya know. Was my fault, 'course." He shrugs a little. "How's the new kiddo? Keepin' you two up at night?"
Rahier's features soften, into a small frown for his boy. "Aw, Taye, 'm sorry." 'Course, even if it's Taye's fault, well, who cares! "I know y'liked him." Not that they usually talk, um, romance-shop. Rah would probably blow Taye's mind. "Oh, nothin' 'm not used to. With m'sleep schedule I could just keep Dei company all nigh'."
Taye nods his appreciation of Rah's sympathy, but then lets it drop. He flashes a grin. "Yeah, well. That's good. IF ya evah need t'be spelled, though, I gotta live up t'my big bro responsibilities."
Oh, but hey the guys aren't alone anymore. Fiona might have heard voices or she might just be looking for something. She isn't in a uniform, so it's still assumed that the doe hasn't joined up as a recruit - instead wearing a pair of slacks with a high-collared tunic and scarf tied at the side of her hip to dangle down her thigh. At first the blonde pauses, as if unsure whether to interrupt or not, before going to saunter towards the bucks. "'Lo." She chirps.
Rahier laughs. It's weird how laughs echo down here.. almost turning the amusement into a sinister bwa-ha-ha. "Maybe you can come over'n watch th'kid an' Levi an' give th'missus an' I some time alone." Haha, Taye is the ultimate babysitter. The chirped greeting catches him just as he's looking up anyway, tilting his head at the doe. "Ah, hey, it's the baths doe."
Taye snorts. Ahh, Levi. "Yeah, sure. I guess I could take the both of 'em," he allows. And then! Fiona. :D He grins, turning to look at her. "Hey, Fiona." Aaaand brow quirk. "Bath doe?"
"Hey, Taye." Fiona grins up at the buck as she gets in closer to him, eyes narrowing almost mischievously. Then a glance is sent to Rahier while she smirks. "Majah." Her attention returns to the younger officer as she responds to him. "I happened t'wandah in on a gatherin' in the baths. I think I made at least one uncomfortable."
/Almost/ mischievously. Well, that's no good. Rah kinda grins again at Fiona. She's the Tam-thing, too, as he remembers it. "We met in the baths," he says, to Taye. He can make of that what he wants, for Rah does not elaborate. xd
Aha. Taye kind of smirks at that, then tilts his head. "Was it Tyree, by any chance?" If anyone's uncomfortable, it's BOUND to be him.
Really, she doesn't know. Fiona's lip twitches at the side as she shrugs her shoulders, hands going out away from her hips in a disarming gesture. ".. I dunno actually." She was too involved in her family reunion after all! Now with Rah being vague the blonde can't help but to shuffle closer to Taye and pinch his side, plucking at the side of his tunic.
Rahier has disconnected.
Taye grins at the pinch, leaning into Fiona a little. He slips an arm around her. There's brief goodbyes when Rahier has to go, suddenly, and then he turns his attention back to Fiona. "So how're you gettin' acclimated so far?"
Rahier has left.
The farewell the doe quips for Rahier hardly seems to take much of her attention from Taye. Fiona lets her muzzle bump to his shoulder while she lifts just her eyes to meet with his, grinning cheekily. ".. well it's startin' t'feel more like home." Slowly she goes to pull away from his arm. "So what're ye lurkin' down here for?"
Taye grins at Fiona and thumbs a hand towards the door that leads to the archery range. "I was teachin' a class." He snorts. "One of 'em hit me with a dull point."
"So... ye were /failin'/ at teachin' a class then?" Fiona's brows lift thoughtfully and her gaze trails away from the door that he gestures to. "Are ye free fer a private lesson?" Already she has started to sidestep towards the range, giving him an expectant look.
Taye snorts. He really likes this doe. XD "Hard t'teach without an ounce of natural ability, eh?" So, she shouldn't be a problem. He nods, then, following her with a paw to the small of her back, guiding her inside.
Always with the touching! She thought she'd gotten away from him. At least she doesn't smack Taye off - so maybe that's a good sign for the officer. "So I guess we migh' have a problem, hm?" She chirps this out with an innocent smirk. "Jus' be patien' with me."
And into the archery range they go!
