2-25-10 - Fiona, Taye
Salamandastron: Northeast Mountainside
- -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Salamandastron *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
You stand on the northeastern side of the mountain, faced with the long
stretches of beach that surround the mountain on its northern and eastern
sides. The dunes further eastern, and the flatlands still further are evident
from this height, as are the mountains that stretch between Mossflower and
these Western Lands. The rockface itself is craggy and cold, barren but for
the path leading up to the crater.

Visible Exits:
[G]arden [Up] to the Crater
Earlier in the evening it was fairly nice outside, a good time to be in the garden and enjoying the beginnings of nighttime creeping on. Now that darkness and stars have completely taken over the sky, the temperature has begun to drop. Fiona has pulled a jacket on but she's bent over some of the sparse vegetation - plucking a weed from the midst of budding flora with her head ducked forward, shoulders shrugged against the cold.
Taye has no reason to be out in the gardens... save for one. Fiona's here. It draws him to the place like a moth to the flame. The recovering buck moves slowly down the garden path, choosing his footing carefully as he descends to his mate. His muzzle twists in a very faint smile as he approaches her from behind. "'Llo, darlin'," he greets. The cold night air puffs out his breath in a cloud of white.
Fiona's jacket is not thick enough to hold off against the cold well, but she is ignoring the drop in temperature for now. For a hours now the doe has been working in the garden, rearranging the landscape a little and trying to make it look more 'presentable' in her eyes. Only when she hears Taye's voice does she snap out of her thoughts, glancing up to the buck with both ears twitching out of their pinned positions to meet with the chill of the wind for a moment. They settle into the protection of her hair once more. ".. hey." She flexes her fingers and settles back on her rump, tucking her hands fully into her jacket sleeves.
Taye comes over the rest of the way, to crouch next to Fiona and then sink down onto his butt. He then proceeds to draw her over against his side, with a kiss to her forehead. "Are you okay, love?" He nuzzles into her hairline.
The runner leans into her lover, bumping her muzzle underneath his chin as he nuzzle into her hair. Fiona shakes her head, shifting near to hug in close to Taye's side for the warmth he can provide. A shiver runs over her form, the blonde resting her cheek on the lieutenant's shoulder. "Tam. The whole thing's.. got me bothahed."
Taye's ears flicker. "... He's gonna be okay, Fiona," he murmurs reassuringly. He presses a kiss, his muzzle curving in a smile. "He's safe 'n' he's home. That's the important bit, righ'?"
The doe shakes her head. "But he's not fine." Fiona murmurs, then her eyes cast upward to take in Taye's face as she tucks her hands between her thighs to help keep them warm. She rubs her fingers together, curling her legs off to the side while huffing - making a cloud of cold air fog in front of her muzzle.
"He's gonna /be/ fine... Fi, trust me," Taye mutters softly. His arms slip around her, then, trying to tug her upward, to encourage her to rise as he starts to do so. "Let's go inside, babe. You're cold."
Fiona smirks up at Taye before giving a deeper sigh, closing her eyes while shifting enough to allow the arm to hook around her form. She at first seems unwilling to accept his invitation, but when her arm goes around his shoulder she pulls up onto her feet with the officer's help. "'m not."
Taye's uninjured arm rubs gently at her back, to keep her warm. "Liah," he mutters with a faint grin. "... Well. /I'm/ cold, anyway. C'mon."
Fiona pulls her jacket around her and ducks her head against Taye's chest, shoulder hunched forward to ward off the cold. She totally is a liar. The doe rubs the side of her head against her mate's collarbone. "Jus' hope he'll be fine." She seems to be speaking aloud. "Doesn' seem it."
"... I'll talk t'him," Taye promises, drawing her in front of him so that he can guide her back up the path with his paw at her back. He kisses the back of her head. "I promise."
A mute nod is what Taye gets in response as she shifts in front to step carefully over the path back to the entrance of the third level. It's easier for them to travel this way. Fiona's hands go behind her to grasp the lieutenant's wrist where his palm is settled to her back.
Taye smiles at the back of Fiona's head and then follows her quietly up and then over towards the entrance back into the mountain. Only once they head in does he turn her to him, to press a brief kiss to her lips. "Don't be so fretful, love. I don't like t'see you unhappy."
Another shiver runs through the girl just as they move into the warmth of the mountain's interior, her body adjusting to the change of temperature. Fiona turns with both ears lifting, looking up to Taye's face before closing her eyes to receive the kiss. They remain shut as he speaks to her, her tongue brushing out to savor the contact. ".. I try not t'be." Her green eyes once more meet with her lover's blue gaze. ".. seein' him like that though." She bumps her nose to the middle of his chest, snuffling as she runs her hands up along his back, to give him a hug. "Doesn' seem safe anymore."
Taye's brow furrows slightly. It's his job to make her feel safe, and no doubt his condition isn't helping matters. "We'll find out whoevah did it 'n' we'll take care of it, love. I promise ya that. It'll be just s'safe as it evah was."
"Which.. probably wasn' very safe at all?" Fiona smiles up at Taye, her mouth quirking at the corners as she teases him with this statement. She sways from side to side as she nuzzles into her mate's chest, before ducking her muzzle to kiss his injured arm lightly. "'M safe with ye. Or.. yer safe with me." She smiles adoringly.
"We're safe with each othah, I guess," Taye allows with a soft smile. The kiss to his injured arm draws a little sadness into it. Stupid arm. "... now. I want you t'promise me you'll be happy... /all/ day t'morrow. A'right? Promise."
Grin. "Aren' ye tired of me bein' happy for weeks at a time?" So bubbly and optimistic. Fiona shifts her hold to wrap her arms around his neck and fairly hang from his front, swaying side to side once more. "Ye'd think 'm due for a break."
"... It keeps this ole grump from succumbin' to foul moods," Taye explains with an almost cheeky grin. "Trust me, you won't like me when m'grumpy."
"So what d'ye call the mood ye were in when ye were laid up in the infirmary?" Fiona retorts, before sliding her hands down away from the back of his neck, letting her palms trail over his shoulders as she steps back. "Luckily.. it's hard t'keep me down."
