Salamandastron: Training Room
Rothal is in the training room again, this time doing pull-ups instead of push-ups. Still trying to recover what he lost from a long term of capture at Halyard, no doubt. Sweat has started to cover the non-regulation tunic he's wearing, and a nearby hare holds a towel, ready to toss it in his direction when he needs it.
Taye has almost completely recovered from his stint of duty in Halyard. All that remains to suggest that he was in battle is the mostly healed gash across his brow - he got off light. Presently he is going about the task of delivering the day's notices to the hares of the mountain. A crowd of sweaty, just-training fighters surround him as he passes out their mail.
Ironic that we've come from the infirmary. ;p Ah well. The major leans in the doorway, watching the crowd gathering for their mail amusedly. He crosses his arms, grins, and moves in that direction at a leisurely pace. "Anythin' there f'me?"
Rothal lets the pull bar go with a grunt, dropping to his footpaws. The other hare tosses the towel at him, and Rothal catches it just before it hits his face, which the other hare seems to find amusing. Glaring at him, Rothal heads in Taye's direction. Like it matters, there's never any mail for him, but he usually checks anyway.
Taye looks up at the question and grins upon seeing Rahier. He then looks back down, looking through the remaining papers. He plucks one out, holding it out. "Report from yer lieutenant, looks like." Another hare comes up and he rifles through before passing off the requisite mail. When Rothal approaches, he presses his lips into a thin line and shakes his head. "Sorry, chap."
Rahier takes it with a grimace. XD Ahem. "Wonder what 'e wants.." Rahier breaks the little wax seal and opens the letter, scanning it briefly, muttering to himself as he reads. Finally, he shrugs, and places it in a pocket. "How goes th'mail duty?" Grin.
"The mail duty goes the same s'always..." In other words, boringly. Taye grins at Rah and then returns to passing out mail, though the pile quickly dwindles. When he's reached the end, he sighs and slumps his shoulders. Ahhh, relief.
Rahier chuckles. "Y'seem a bit bored, soldier, don'tcha like doin' your duty?" He grins again and pats Taye upon his shoulder, watching the mob of mailclaimers wander themselves away. And here it comes, the healer-squint. At Taye's forehead. "Feelin' a bit better, it looks like?"
Dandelion comes staggering away from the rest of his class, looking somewhat groggy and looking for someplace to sit. He's keeping his head tilted back, a cloth pressed at his nose, which is bleeding rather heavily.
Taye notes the healer squint with a faint grin. "Yeah, Da'. I'm fine." He rolls his eyes, shouldering the empty mail sack before turning and - woah. Spying Dandelion's predicament, he glances at Rahier out of the corner of his eye. "Think someone else could use yer attention."
Sorrel at some point had wandered in to watch. She was lucky enough to join the lp during their time at the abbey. no recruit schedule for her. She watches, poking her rib and grimacing respectively.
Dandelion tries to look around without tilting his head too much forward, and eventually spots a bench, towards which he heads sorta straight.
Rahier beams. Ahehehe. Well. That is, until a significantly more bloody hare enters. ;p "Ahh, what's this, then?" he enquires, moving toward Dandelion's bench. "A bap t'th'nose, hm?" That is, of course, rather likely.
"Yes, sah." Despite being a bit woozy, Dandelion recognises an officer when he sees one, and promptly switches paws on the cloth so he can salute with the proper hand. "Ab fid, sah." he says, putting on a brave face.
Taye follows after Rahier, eyeing the gushing nose with slight displeasure but none of his usual fainting tendencies. "Ya don't look it."
Sorrel eyes the recruits with some interest, a bit to tender at the moment to slime too widely, much less bounce around greeting everyone.
Dandelion is actually starting to feel a little wobbly, what with the blood and all. "A thigk a need t' sit dobd..." he murmurs, and plops down on the bench, leaning back against the wall. "Stupid dose..."
"Ahh, yeh, that I can see," he replies, with mild amusement. "Someone hitcha a bit too hard?" With a slight grin, he moves his paw to separate bloody cloth from squishy nose. "Lemme see. Didja break it?" His other paw feels tentatively at Dandelion's snout.
Dandelion flinches visibly, but manages not to yowl. Bloody and sore though it may be, it doesn't feel like the nose is broken. Of course, that doesn't make it hurt or bleed any less.
Sorrel watches, reminded of rothal. eheh. injuries happened far to often in the mountain
Coming in on his crutches Ral glances around and smiles "Hey."
Rahier winces in practiced sympathy. "Ah well, jus' sit here f'a bit..." He disposes of the bloody cloth, fishing some fresh gauze from a pocket, to wrap around the immediate area of Dandelion's ensanguined nose. "Keep a bit o' pressure on it. It'll stop righ' up."
Taye can't help but grin at the sight of Dandelion's snout all wrapped up, and so he brings a paw up to cover his mouth, hehing softly. He turns as Ral nears, nodding.
Sorrel turns towards ral, a little too quickly, and screws up her face in pain. "Agh, gaddamn..."
Ral sighs a bit at the sight of Sorrel wincing "Should really slow down a bit there Sorrel."
"Thagks, sah." Dandelion says, trying not to sound as miserable as he is feeling at the moment, although proper healer care helped a bit.
The other recruits of Dandelion's class begin to file out, and some take the time to pass him by and pat him encouragingly on the shoulder.
Ral moves over towards Dandelion "You alright there Dande?"
Dandelion looks up at Ral, nodding a little. "Yea, a thigk so."
Ral nods and says "Looks painful.."
Taye shakes his and chuckles, turning and moving a little ways off from the gathering crowd. Odd lot. He glances around thoughtfully, searching the leaving recruits for any beast he knows.
Dandelion shakes his head a little. "Jus' a bi' sore." he murmurs.
Ral smiles a bit "That's good, Least it's not like my leg.."
Rahier ties off the end of his bandage roll, placing it back into his pocket as he stands. "Y'can see me in th'infirmary if it gets bad again," he says, before stepping back some.
Dandelion makes an attempt at standing up, and succeeds pretty well. "A shoud ged goidk." he says, motioning towards the final stragglers from his group, who are leaving for the dorms.
Ral nods and moves off to the side a bit..
Dandelion salutes the major a final time, and then heads for the door, walking quite a bit more carefully than usual. As he goes out, two other recruits intercept him and - taking him by a shoulder each - start to lead him to the dormitories.
Taye watches Dandelion leave and then turns to Rah, with a small grin. "Dangerous work we do 'ere, huh?"
Ral nods "Yeah."
Ral leans against the wall to rest his leg with a slight sigh..
Sorrel is still watching...well, more zoning than actually that. the pain's only gotten worse...lying bunny Ral...
Ral glances at Sorrel "You doing alright Sorrel?"
Sorrel nods, her beaming face ridden with a touch of sourness. "Oh aye.... tis almost gone...I think..."
Ral nods "I hope it gets better soon, The way you act it seems like it hurts worse then my leg."
Sorrel nods. "well, ye've 'ad longa tah 'eal now..."
Ral nods again "True, But you can still walk right." He says with a bit of a smile
Taye listens to the exchange between Ral and Sorrel, smiling slightly at the one-upping of injuries.
Sorrel nods. "Aye, jus' can' move ma face..."
Ral grins "Good point there."
Sorrel folds her arms slowly. "Ah, well... is it a contas'?"
Ral shakes his head "Not that I know of."
Rahier gives Taye a pat on his shoulder as he heads toward the doorway. "See y'about, kid." Hehehe. He heads out after Dandelion and the group, doubtlessly to make sure the recruits don't trip and bleed all over the place.
Sorrel runs her fingers through her legnthening headfur, her face opulled tight at the stretch. as she watches Rah go she nearly runs after him, but her pride stops her from admitting how much it hurt.
