Characters involved: Keita & Zeraph.
Halyard Tavern: Sleeping Chamber
Keita has been moved from the bed and into her armchair, which has been pushed over to the window. There's a table with a tray of food beside her, and her lower half is covered - as it usually is just lately - with a blanket.
Zeraph knocks on the door, before he actually experimentally gives it a push to open it. His ears are the first things to appear. "K?"
Looking around, Keita can just see the door opening from the angle of the armchair. /That's/ a familiar voice, and hey, there's only one creature who uses that nickname. "'Raph?" She grins.
Zeraph steps around the side of the door, smiling at her and closing it slowly behind him. "Yep..Hey. How're you feeling?" The buck moves over to where she is, ears tilting back now and looking her over.
The blanket is covering her lower half, but what it's covering on the right side may be tellingly less substantial, all the same. Her lips twitch slightly at the question, and she shrugs. "I'm a'right. How ya feelin'?"
Zeraph nods slowly as his gaze returns to her. "I'm doing good..Sorry that I missed the final battle of course..and that I couldn't help you out." He shakes his head. "But then again, if was your fight.."
Keita grins ruefully as her words do, indeed, come back to haunt her. Le sigh. ;p Nonetheless, she shakes her head. "Nothin' t' be sorry about. We did a'right fer ourselves... Won, 'n' all that." She looks out the window and down towards the western square. "Nice 'n' quiet without a buncha vermin, innit?"
Zeraph leans against the wall to gaze out the window, though he is more staring out over the rooftops and sky. The buck nods and a half smirk forms. "Oh yes. Though I wonder what happened to Vorth, aye?" He glances back over at her. "I didn't see him. Think he ran?"
Keita's nose wrinkles uncertainly, and she shrugs. "I dunno... guess 'e must've. Prob'ly lickin' his wounds along with the rest that survived, wherevah they are."
Zeraph snorts and shakes his head, gazing at the floor. "So much for taking us down." He chews on his thumb as he stares off thoughtfully. "Will you be staying here, now?"
Keita looks uncertain, and then shrugs. "I dunno... Zoe wants me t' stay at the mountain fer a bit or somethin'." Her ears twitch thoughtfully, and she looks away from the mirror and towards Zeraph. Shrug-shrug.
Zeraph glances over as he feels the look. His one eyebrow raises and the shrugginess, then he bobs his head understandingly. "Hm..Maybe she wants to bond or something."
Keita glances back towards the window again, and laughs. "Y'know, Jarril's gonna assign a few Patrol 'ares t' tend m'bar 'til I've recuperated?"
Zeraph's ears perk. "Oh Gah, do I have to do /that/ again?" He starts chuckling a second after he says this. "Oh, so many fond memories.." It is here where a little flashback/montage would be, set to music.
Oh, and a dance number. Can't forget the dance number. "Well, y' don't /have/ t'... I'd rathah have you around than some green, ordah-followin' recruit, though." Grin-grin.
The dance number must include Akakios...in tights. Throwing Rothal around in a dancey way. "I suppose..Though I'd kind of like to go back to the mountain at least for a little while. Maybe bring Tae back with me." Zeraph remains leaned against the wall.
Keita nods in understanding, eyes narrowing thoughtfully as she looks out the window. "Mayhaps I will come back t' the mountain fer a bit. Lil'll hate it, but..." She shrugs.
Zeraph smiles. "Oh yes...Lily..I forgot about her for a moment." The buck sighs a little, leaning his head back now. "How is she doing?"
Keita shifts slightly in the chair, grimacing as she does so. "She's doin' real good. Still a little jittery, but mostly she's fine."
Zeraph observes her for a moment. "You alright?" He looks her over again, paying a little more attention this time.
Keita shrugs and looks down at her lap, nose wrinkling. "Yeah... It's jus', I c'n still feel it. M'leg. Like nothin' happened. It's..." She shifts again, frowning. "Creepy."
Zeraph's ears tilt forward. "What?" He moves forward, then shrinks back, startled, now noticing. "Oh..uh.." The buck doesn't know what to say. He wasn't aware she'd lost the leg.
Keita blinks, having assumed he'd already been informed. At the way he looks, though, she realizes he wasn't. "... Oh. Uh." She looks down at the blanket and the leg beneath it, which ends just above the knee. "Ya weren't, uh. Told?"
Zeraph shakes his head. "No..No one told me." He clears his throat and heaves a sigh. "I'm sorry, K." The buck rubs his forehead. "This..is why I loathe vermin."
Keita pokes a finger-tip experimentally at her thigh, not having the heart to look back up at him. "They didn't force me int' the battle, 'Raph. I did that m'self."
Zeraph nods slowly, paw still to his forehead. "Yeah..I know..You're crazy." He leans back again, remaining in said position.
