RW Abbey: Entry

Well, would you look at that. It's a patrol of hares! Aaaand... Zoe isn't heading it! There's some young Major or other at the lead, and that's just peachy fine and keen with the Colonel. She is moving along at her usual, slow, and limping pace, her gaze turned upward towards the ever-impressive Great Hall. Squint. Fiiiinally, they're here.

Ender has arrived toooo! How he actually made it this far is somewhat of a mystery. The rabbit is walking as straight and upright as he can, which still allows for a slight bend at the waist. The cane in his paw /seems/ to be unnecessary, but an occasional heavy lean on it proves it is quite important for him to keep up his rapid march...or stumble, more accurately. He's near Zoe, a few hares separating the two. Look, Redwall! He almost says this, but thinks better of it.

Well don't worry, some of the recruits and younger privates are saying it for him. Some of them are even pointing and chattering about things they've read about. Oooooh, spiffy. Zoe's seen it often enough, and simply continues forward, turning her attention to the other hares - and oh, one bunny rabbit, too. She smirks slightly. They are so old and decrepit and it is so, so, so very obvious.

Ender does a little hi wave with his stump before looking back at the soaring Great Hall. Still pretty cool. Not as cool as Floret, of course. He says this to some recruit near him, garnering an odd look. "Castle Floret? Southsward?" Kids these days...bugger. He speeds up and gets near Zoe. "You've seen Floret, right?"

"Hm?" Zoe had gone back to looking around and now turns her head around to look at Ender. "Oh. Floret? Aye. Once or twice. Just in passin'. Why?"

Ender thinks for a second. Why? A legitimate, well-put question. "Um. No particular reason." And...in they go? The pack pauses for a second at the gate. "Are we going to the 67th or staying here, eh?" Ender looks at Zoe. An even /better/ question! Ha HA!

Damn him and his better question! Oh wait, Zoe knows this one. "I think I'll leave that t'personal preference. I'll be stayin' here, m'self." She grins, a smidge. "Prob'ly in m'head, but I nevah sleep quite s'well as I do in Redwall beds."

She sleeps better in her head? UH WUT. By now Ender's a pro at wiping away confused looks (or he thinks he is), and nods. "Guess I'll follow along then, eh?" Pause. "In Redwall, I mean. Not with the rest of these little blihghters." And...in they gooo!

RW Abbey: Great Hall

The Great Hall of Redwall Abbey. Countless paw falls have echoed from these stones, and untold numbers of feasts and merry gatherings have been held here. A table, not nearly so grand or large as its predecessors, but quite functional for mealtimes, rests near the center of the hall. Chairs exist here aplenty, though most of them are obviously not from the same set. High above, the stain glass windows give the Great Hall a beautiful appearance. The glasswork is exceptionally done, crafted by a skilled artist. The floor is clean and swept. A fire is kept burning in the fireplace at almost all times of the day and night, and there are several more comfortable chairs and cushions set up here, of varying sizes. One looks large enough to easily accommodate a badger.

The Tapestry hangs proud and tall, and while the rest of Redwall may still bear the scars of natural disaster, this most famous of Redwall's relics remains unharmed by beast, time, or the elements. The figure of Martin the Warrior seems to be watching over his own with an unchanging, kindly gaze.

Shadows are long in the dying evening light.

Zoe_Lang is by now a pro at not taking notice of Ender's confused looks, and so she doesn't comment. Ha. A large number of hares suddenly file into the Great Hall, Zoe amongst them. She reaches over and squeezes Ender's forearm, then releases. "T'be honest, I don't think I could've made it anothah day. Bloody 'ell, it's nice t'finally be here."

Ender collapses into a seat near the fire. Despite the fact that there's not a fire on a hot summer day. He melts into the chair a little before nodding at a chair near him. "Get off those paws...good god that was too far." He /almost/ drifts off to sleep right there. Old people.

"Well, 'least it's ovah... We c'n just, um." She pauses while she sinks into a chair. "Stay here fer the next ten seasons or so, righ'?" She puts her legs up on a foot stool, grimacing. "I figure I c'n make the hike again, by then." Old. OLD.

Ender shrugs a little. "I don't care about going back. That mountain brought me nothing...barely anything good. Just a lot of hurt." Aw, poor Endy. "Stay here until my legs fall off as well." He waves about his stump a little, before letting it fall half-heartedly to his lap. "Oy, you!" A random recruit comes towards him. "Get us drinks. The best thing you can find." The recruit looks over at Zoe...who does this rabbit think he is?

Clearly the super spiffiest rabbit ever, that's what. Uh right. Zoe gives a very slight nod to the recruit, who promptly runs off to get them something to drink. Zoe looks at End out of the corner of her eye. Smirk. "Well if that's how ya feel about it." Snort. "I mean, honestly. Don't hold back on my account. The mountain 'n' I c'n take it."

Caesar arrives in the great hall from the Entry. The Hare adjusts his jerkin and doesn't bother To even look up. He goes about half way in before actually looking around and hms quietly to himself as he examines the beasts in the room

Ender doesn't notice the unfamiliar hare enter because, well, all faces are pretty much unrecognizable. "Oh, don't be like that. The mountain and I had our ups and downs. I guess we ended on an up, but it went pretty low first." Because, you know, Redwall will be super different.

The beasts in the room consist of a surprisingly large number of hares, all similarly uniformed. Most of them are heading for the stairs. Zoe and Ender look like they plan on taking up residence permanently in front of the nonexistent fire. "Well, I think that mountain could fall down on top o' me and I'd still be obligated t'love it."

Caesar finally clicks that the beasts are hares. He jumps back in surprise as he has only seen this many hares in one place once in his life. The hare glances around the room and studies the Uniforms before finding them quiet Familar but he does not say anything for the time being. He takes a Seat thats not too far from The two sitting by the fire.

Ender does blink at the lack of a uniform. Patrol Secret Police? He quirks a broww, but is distracted by a drink! Yay! A second cup is proffered to Zoe. "Let's not argue." He says, simply. But. That may have been a bad thing to say. "Since we're not. And won't be." Phew, saved. Drinking noisily, Ender tries to hide a moment of awkwardness.

Zoe_Lang's lips twitch and she sends another sideways glance to Ender. Mm-hm. She takes the proffered drink, sipping it thankfully. She nods to the recruit in dismissal, then notices the unfamiliar hare. She offers a grin and a nod. "Hullo. Are you an abbey beast?"

Caesar glances over and Shakes his Head. "No, Just Staying For a Few Days. I never stay in once place more than a few days eh" he hms as he Examines some of the uniforms again. "Never Seen this many hares in once place, something Going on I wasn't informed about, eh wot?" He laughs before going back to his norma look.

Ender laughs a little. "We're the Long Patrol!" He doesn't seem to notice entering the conversation unbidden. "Or they are. I'm just a rabbit who tags along." Thinking for a moment, Ender takes a drink before continuing. "Here to honor the Abbot's recent passing, eh? Sad time." Not that you could tell from listening to him, that is.

"We've come t'-" But Ender beats her to it. Zoe nods in agreement. "Aye. The late Abbot was a good friend t'the patrol. We've come t'offah what services we can. We've brought food 'n' supplies."

Deciding to pass off the exchange to more capable hands, Ender is satisfied to sit, drink, and stare at the empty hearth. Yaaawwwnnn. It's hard being old. Hustle and bustle aside, he's clearly nodding off. G'night, silly old bear. Rabbit.

Caesar hms and then Now only recognizes the uniforms. "Long Patrol Eh?" he hms. "never liked 'ee lot" he Mumbles under his breath before letting out a yawn and closes his eyes before Slowly Dozing off but soon wakes up a few moments later.

Humph. Well then. Zoe's ears twitch at Caesar's assessment and at Ender's sleepiness. Well then. She stands from her chair with much creaking and wincing, snags a blanket from over an armchair, and drapes it quietly over Ender before moving off and towards the stairs. Those beds sound good, after all.
