Characters involved: Rothal, Keita, & Zeraph.
Halyard Village: Main Street
Rothal sits quietly on the barricade, staring across main street in the direction of the vermin's barricade. Technically, he's in main street, since he's over the barricade. His stitched face seems to be healing at a good clip, although he still looks a little pale.
Keita's firmly in main street proper. In fact, she's just exiting one of the buildings with an armful of what would appear to be clothing. The odd things Keita "risks her life" for. Indeed. She looks around over the edge of clothing pile and turns, heading for the western barricade.
Rothal hops off the barricade as Keita appears, walking over to the other hare. His mouth has healed sufficiently that he can talk. "Hey, Keita. Need some help?"
Keita grins at Rothal over the pile, and when he reaches her, she unloads half the pile on him. "Aye - thanks."
Rothal shrugs. "No problem." Holding the pile in one arm, he runs a paw through the clothes. Looking for weapons, or maybe supplies, hidden amongst the clothes. Nothing. "Uhh... Any reason yah ovah here lookin' fah clothes?"
When they reach the barricade, Keita calls out to the hares on the other side, and promptly begins tossing the articles of clothing over to their side. "Not fond o' wearin' borrowed Patrol uniforms..."
Rothal tosses his pile of clothes over the barricade as well, shaking his head. "An' h'I thought h'I was h'in bad shape..." He mutters to himself.
Keita grins and turns to look at Rothal once she's finished her tossing. She peers at his cheek thoughtfully. "Looks better."
Somewhere on the muck, Zeraph has connected.
Rothal smiles slightly. A paw goes to his cheek, feeling the stitching. "Yah think? h'It's hard for me to tell."
Keita clicks her tongue thoughtfully and nods. "Aye... I'd say so. Ya might have some scarrin', but looks like it's goin' t' heal well 'nough."
Rothal nods. "Expected that. The scarrin', h'I mean. Anythin' else yah want to get while we're out here?" Might as well do something while they are on main street.
Keita hms at the question and turns, peering around main street with a considering grin. "... Wondah if they've raided the tax office 'r not. It'd be nice t' get back the taxes I've payed on the tavern..." She's only half serious.
Rothal shrugs. "Why not? Better than lettin' the vermin get any more stuff than what they already have."
Zeraph pulls himself up onto the barricade to peek over at the two hares there, though he does this using only one of his arms, keeping the one curled to his chest slightly. His ears quiver as he listens to them, then scowls a little, straightening and popping up even more. "Should you guys really be over there?" He questions out as quietly as possible. The stained in blood that covers the one half of his tunic front can't be seen at the moment.
Keita smirks at Rothal's assessment, and finds herself agreeing and turning in the direction of the tax office - until Mr. Killjoy speaks up. XD Keita roooolls her eyes and turns, arms crossing over her chest as she peers up at Zeraph. "'Llo, Raph." Grin.

Rothal has taken a few steps before Raph appears, but now turns around, walking back to the other two. Nodding to Zeraph, he smiles slightly. "Hey, Raph. How's h'it goin'?"
Zeraph turns his ears backward a little. "Well, just because I don't want you guys to get hurt that is. You don't have to listen to me.." The buck sets his chin on his arm, the one he's actually moving, and just gazes towards the two, the usual happy expression gone from his features. He goes to reach into his pocket, having to raise his head up first to do so, and glances backward as he does, tugging the flask out of its resting place. "I mean, you're both older than me, right.." Sigh. The fighter takes a drink, then just nods in response to Rothal. "I'm alive."
Keita leans forward against the barricade, eyeing Zeraph curiously. "... 'Ey now, somethin' wrong, Raphy m'boy?" She flashes him a lazy grin and flicks an ear.
Rothal looks Raph over. "Didn't yah hear, Keita? Raph here went and got himself h'in a fight with a big ol' rat. Lucky he didn't get his fool head cut off." He smiles at little, to let Zeraph know the last part was a joke. At least, the part about him being a fool.
Zeraph shakes his head a little. "Not much." He pauses and turns his attention on Roth as he speaks up, though he doesn't looks too happy still, and the buck's expression actually darkens slightly. The fighter sets his gaze back on the doe. "On that note.." Pause for a light sniffle, and to hold out the flask towards Keita, partially shaking it. "..I think I'm up for some more of your brew."
Keita reaches up for the flask and tucks it into a pocket, though that lazy grin died right about the time Rothal mentioned a fight with a big ol' rat. "I'll get righ' on that..."
Rothal is quiet for a moment, watching Raph intently. The hare doesn't seem much in the mood for talking. Not that he would be if he were in Raph's position, from what he heard of the fight. "Keita, yah can help out Raph here. h'I'll go see h'if h'I can't break h'into the tax office. h'If h'I'm not back h'in awhile, don't send anybeast out lookin' for me."
Zeraph nods slightly, rubbing his nose with the one paw. "Thanks.." Then there is the sound of sliding furniture and the buck disappears from sight. Nothing is heard from his side of the barricade for a moment, then the fighter murmurs loud enough for them to hear, but still half to himself. "Yeah, I think I'm ready to get drunk now..."
Rothal shakes his head at Raph's actions, murmuring for Keita to keep an eye on him. Depressed as he is, it's hard to tell what he might do. Then, quiet pawsteps mark his exit, as he heads in the direction of the tax office. Hopefully, breaking a door or window won't alert any of the vermin.
Keita reaches out and pats Roth on the shoulder before nodding. "Sounds good." She watches him leave, then she begins climbing up and over the barricade. She lands on the other side with a thump, fortunately not /on/ Zeraph but beside him. "I'll go fill up the flask... Don't go anywhere, a'right?"
Zeraph looks up as she lands beside him and starts speaking. The buck nods his understanding to her. It is apparent that he has tried to clean the blood off of his uniform, but it is still stained into the fabric. The fighter just closes his eyes, leaned back against the make-shift wall and closes his eyes, remaining seated.
Keita jogs off towards the tavern and disappears inside. It's a couple of minutes before she reappears, and she holds up the flask as she jogs back over. Stopping short, she holds the flask out with a half-bow and a flourish. Hee. "Here ya go."
Zeraph offers a light smile to Keita and takes the flask from her, drinking down some immediately, ears still tilted back and pulling his legs up to him, resting his injured arm against them.
Keita sits down indian-style on the dirt in front of the barricade. She pokes absently at a pebble, not looking up at Zeraph. "Ya want me t'... take a look? Make sure they fixed ya up a'right?"
Zeraph pulls the flask away from his mouth, whiskers giving a slight twitch, then he shrugs, immediately regretting this action of course as he winces in pain. "Sure..have fun." The buck goes to take off his tunic, if that'll help, though he moves his one arm as little as possible.
Ooh, no! Keita looks up in time to see him trying to take off his tunic. Erf! She immediately stands, moving to help him with it. "So what happened?" She manages to get his arm out of its sleeve, and begins examining the healer's handiwork. Frowningly, she shrugs. "... It looks a'right." Well, aside from looking absolutely awful and painful. ;p Her eyes flicker up to Zeraph's. "What're you doin' up and about, exactly?"
Zeraph smirks a little as she helps him out, then glances down at the deep wound. "Hmm..It was that rat you used to have so much fun with in the tavern. I got pinned against a wall, when they all showed up. He stabbed me through the shoulder." He leaves out the fact that he didn't even get a hit in on Vorth, or the fact that he fell over the barricade in the first place. The buck gazes up at her for a moment at the next question. "I don't feel much like resting. Though I guess I have no other choice." He looks back down, murmuring a final thought. "..since I've been taken off duty."
Keita holds a paw down to Zeraph and triiiies to smile, though it falls extremely short. "Well... 'ey. 'Tis good t' have a vacation, righ'?" She hehs softly, and glances around. Her eyes eventually set on her tavern. "You c'n rest in one of m' guest rooms. It's yers fer as long as ya need it, a'right?"
Zeraph turns to look towards the tavern as Keita does and he bobs his head a little in agreement. "I guess.." The buck goes to stand now, so he can walk into the before mentioned building, ears turning up now, though he takes another swig of the drink. "Maybe I'll head in there now. Better than having a chair leg in your back.." Obviously talking about leaning against the barricade.
"Sounds good..." Keita steps back once Zeraph is standing. "I'll come 'round t' check on ya, mayhaps bring ya somethin' t' eat latah." She moves out of his way and nods.
Zeraph nods once more, again half smiling at her, then just walks towards the tavern without saying anything more. The buck can be heard murmuring something to himself, though, as he goes.
