Characters involved: Zoe_Lang & Toroth.

Salamandastron: Infirmary

Zoe_Lang is sitting on the edge of her cot with her head bowed. It is held in slightly trembling paws which barely touch, as if her head is fragile and might break at the lightest impact. She makes nary a sound, glad at least that the guards have removed themselves to the hallway to hold their watch, just outside the door.

No such luck on getting any piece, Toroth has heard about the news of what has happened and he entered the room with a smile. "Ah, Colonel. I see that you've been in the wars. So how are you doing?" The pine marten looks about the room and stands there looking at the hare. "You know, you really shouldn't have fought so much when we arrived, perhaps you would've still

Zoe_Lang straightens at the first, "Ah, Colonel." She looks /around/ as he continues speaking and lowers her paws to her lap, gripping the wrist of her damaged paw with the opposite one to stay the trembling throughout. It works. "If we'd fought more I'd've kept it, s'well." Because the vermin'd be dead. Mm-hm.

"I've got nothin' t' say to you. And yer 'brothah', as you put it, seems rathah interested in keepin' me alive one way or anothah." The Colonel shrugs, looking unconcerned. "But! Do whatevah you wish. I care not."

Toroth nods his head. "By all means, Zoe." The pine marten gives a chuckle. "Been reading quite a bit over the last couple of days, see that we have a few hares outside, young ones as well. I am sure I can come up with a trap for them when they try to take this place." Moving from the cot, he makes his way towards a cupboard and peeks inside. "I also know you have your cousin at the abbey, perhaps I should sell the location of where your mossflower operations are to another vermin group?" Closing the cupboard he turns around. "Ah well, at least you look like your cousin now, so what's he doing? Ran away home with a couple of your young lot?"

Zoe_Lang's expression is neutral - blank. After he's finished speaking, she only shakes her head. "I haven't got a clue what or who yer talkin' about. But feel free t' continue threatenin' me with made-up threats. I have a large family. I've got many cousins. I imagine you've got one or two of 'em downstairs. 'Tis hard to keep track of which ones've joined the Patrol, t' be honest." She smirks.

Toroth walks up to where the cot is and snarls. "Well, thankfully you have a very well kept written record of who is who in this patrol. But I be sure to take a few of your family you apparently cant remember and sell them into slavery." Moving away, the pine marten makes for the door. "I be sure to say you told me to say goodbye to them."

"Mm-hm. You do tha'. And I'll be sure t' say goodbye to yer brothah Roreck for ya, when I kill 'im." She looks up into that snarling face with a frightening smile. It is frightening, though perhaps not to Toroth, because it is uncaring. His words mean nothing to her.

Toroth gives a smile back. "It's amazing, you woodlanders slowly turn into us vermin more with each passing day. I wonder if you can bring yourself to it to just kill without any reason." The pine marten keeps a paw on the door. "But I feel that you're arrogant lot will come up with some excuse to make sure it was all for the might of good. Your patrol is well known, colonel. Though mostly for being hypocritical. Besides which, even if you did kill my brother and win back the mountain. I've already taken quite a few of your young ones, you never see them again so really you failed. The failures do stop at the one at the top and that's you, my dear and with your actions even now will determine their fate so I would point out to be a little more forecoming and polite." Opening the door fully now, he turns back. "It's on your pelt not mine on their fate, afterall."

"I have watched your brothah kill 'n' maim our hares, one by one by one, Toroth. I have quite a lot o' reasons fer killin' him. The fact that he's yer brothah 'n' that I might be able to make ya feel even the /slightest/ amount of what ya've caused the rest of us? That's jus' icin', mate. Pure icin'." Her lips draw back in a sneer which really would be on par with any that a vermin could throw at her, but then she's had quite a lot of practice at it. "Yer words may work on our youngah hares, Toroth, but I was already killin' vermin when you were still in short pants. Go waste yer breath somewhere else." And she snorts, shaking her head as she looks away from.

Toroth gives the reply back. "Then I better let him off the leash and let him finish off pretty much all the hares left in here then before your other lot get here and you forget something. I have other family members myself but they're not here, they're taking care of your young elsewhere. Your idle threats don't scare me hare, we've heard it all before." He closes the door and walks back to where Zoe is and speaks quietly. "I let you in on a little secret. I killed my own father right in this mountain so that should answer whether or not I would be that bothered. I came and got what I wanted. We meet again but remember, get practise in, you have a blind side now, things will only get harder during battle." Moving back he opens the door and looks at the two outside. "She's had enough recovery, get her back downstairs where it's noisey."

Zoe_Lang looks just short of rolling her eyes. Really. She smirks back at him, regardless of his words. If they have any effect on her, it doesn't show. And once he's moved away and spoken with the guards, and as they approach, she stands to them. She doesn't even seem to mind as her arms are gripped and resecured behind her back. It's aaaall icing, easy as pie. "Thanks, mate," she calls as she is lead past Toroth, "I was gettin' a mite bored up here!" She snorts softly to herself as they lead her off.

Toroth slowly clenches his paws into fists as he mutters. "Oh keep trying me hare and you soon find out why most fear me...." He watches her vanish around the corner.
