Chars involved: Zoe_Lang, Jarril
Leader Lounge
Sitting in one of the overly luxurious chairs of the leaders' lounge, Zoe is reading over a parchment - of what, who knows. Humming thoughtfully to herself, her foot tapping absently on the floor before her, she's not really paying attention to the others in the room.
Jarril entering the room slowly, not paying attention to anyone himself, the major looks about, heads for a small table and promptly pours himself a drink from the private bar before heading to sitting down on one of the chairs quietly, in case of not disturbing the peace in the room. Looking about, he idly takes a small sip, before looking at the liquid inside as he rolls it about gently.
Taking a break from the reading, Zoe sighs deeply and streeetches her arms up above her head. "Ugh..." It's then that she notices Jarril's presence. Blinky. Her thoroughly-stretched arms drop back to her sides, and she clears her throat. "Evenin', Jar."
Jarril smiles. "Evenin' Col." Replying back softly. "So when am I going ta get that telling off?" Smiling softly as he wrote the report instead of actually speaking it to avoid whatever was coming to him by a few hours. "But before ya do, I like ta point out that they did have a small dibbun, so lost my head and needed ta do something right there and then. Besides, they really thought I was some rogue vermin hare. Personally, I actually enjoyed myself, wot." Taking another sip again from his drink. "That's unless ya haven't read it yet then erm, my apologies if ya confused right now."
Well, that was... next in the list of things to read, after the current one. For the moment, she just blinks at him. "... Yeah, well, I'm assumin' that'll make more sense once I do read the report." Heh. She grins juuust a bit, and apparently the reprimand'll wait 'til after she has more idea of what she's reprimanding him for.
Jarril rolls his shoulders and places the cup on his lap. "Alright, I explain. Patrol finally found a cave where we knew there were vermin living there. Some signs here and there. Messy bunch, anyways. We waited ta see if and when all of the would come back and surprised them. In hiding of course. However, some of the sea rats, they were definately a corsair bunch, not sure what ship though." Pausing. "Anyways, they had a little rabbit dibbun with them, one of the rats wanted ta cook him. So I kinda took off my jacket, turned it inside out and went off to them unarmed ta get their trust in acting like some lost sea faring vermin myself. If only ta get at that dibbun." The major sighed. "Didn't quite work ta plan though."
Zoe_Lang is silent for a good bit, but eventually she crosses her arms over her chest and sits back. Hmm. "I guess ya got the dibbun, at least?"
Jarril looks at his cup and coughs slightly. "Well, erm. No, not exactly. While working on the trust of said rats, weasels and stoats. One rat managed ta get into the cave. At then I knew it was not going right and had ta send the signal for the rest of the patrol ta fight them." Looking about and swallowing since he's now got the whole room's attention, the major swallows. "At that time, the rat came out, waving some small rabbit paws, saw the attack and locked himself into the cave with a boulder. All vermin were dealt with, though there were a few injuries and of course ya know about the leiutanent. At the time I thought it was the best cause of action to do. Just didn't work out that way though in getting hold of the little 'un before attacking. Doing it straight off would've risked hurting the little one as well." Wriggling an ear. "I did what I thought best at the time. I'd go out again unarmed if it meant saving another. Not bravery either, just something I had ta do." Frowning slightly. "'sides ya know I don't like searats but I'll never do anything that I wouldn't order someone else ta do."
Zoe_Lang sighs, running a paw over her face, looking rather tired as she does it. "Aye, well.. I won't fault yer decisions. I'm not one t' talk about takin' personal risks.." She shrugs and sits forward, rubbing at the back of her neck. "I'm just glad most made it out a'right."
Jarril nods and gets up again. "Well, ya tired, I only came in for a drink." The major smiles himself. "Ya know, why don't ya take time off as well. Put the work ta one of ya majors." He smirks slightly. "I've already done the pass it down ta one in my patrol for the time being." Winking. "Starting ta actually listen ta ya now." Moving to the side, the hare places the cup onto the side table. "Still like ta know about where that ship went though. Don't like ta see some vermin coming onto these shores and not knowing why they came so near ta us." Fixing his uniform. "Ah well, that's for another time. If ya excuse me, I bid ya goodnight." Bowing slightly before heading off towards the door.
