Vermin is a catch-all word for "bad guys" in the Redwall universe. In general, vermin are carnivorous species, particularly those creatures considered nefarious by European folklore. They pose the "evil" to the woodlanders' universal "good". Though the Redwall books regularly emphasize the vermin-woodlander divide, the MUCK has never strictly enforced those roles.
