Hello All:
This posting I am sure is going to be far more controversial then my last.
I want to start out by pointing out, neither I, nor Flicktail have any OOC say on what gos on, on the MU. Only Otter has that privilege.
I do not mind making IC Decisions as Flicktail, in fact I LIKE them, but I am uncomfy if that decision always entails using physical force...
I have noted a few (at least to me) New Role players who are trying controversial things... I think this injects some Drama, some interest, that I agree not everyone is looking for (We get comfy role playing the way WE role play) The problem is TRYING is, sometimes what you try backfires... I am worried people are holding this against a kind of player *I* really think the MU needs. I am not looking to start an argument over what is canon, or what is PG...
What I'd rather see is some OOC discussion.
For example, a case was made for a PLACE in the Abbey to do weapons maintenance, sharpening, repair, that did NOT involve a 1/2 day walk to Ferraville. I agree with this.. in mid evil England, weapons needed constant maintained, so they did not rust. Practice so the muscles were kept trained for defending, and I applaud the Role Player who decided to have their character make a point of it, Please do not pressure them off just because you may have disagreed (I am not saying anyone DID)
I woudl also like some discussion on WHAT to do with a Vermin, who does things "evil" but warrant LESS then a death sentence.... Being in "Jail" stifles RP if no one is in the jail WITH you you sit there bored... I have suggested chains, a guard and being forced to do chores... but some feel that is Slavery and as such is not allowed. I do not KNOW the answer..but we need to find something that can be fun AND encourage more role play....
And please do not hate me because of this post, I just want to find some help and make the place abetter MU...
