Ferravale Infirmary

Zinnia the badger.  Blisa the cat, Ferdinand the ferret, Valerie the vixen, Clarissa the rat, Waldo the weasel, Statler the stoat, and Hank the fox.

Zinnia has layed here, somewhat still and quiet. Her breathing and pulse has been fairly good, it started out weak but got better and now she makes a groan sound as she slowly wakes up and her eyes flutter open as she looks to see where she is she coughs slightly from a dry throat.

Blisa is visiting the infirmary to ask a couple of questions, and she brought almost all of her guards with her.  Ferdinand is standing beside her, listening to a healer.  Valerie the vixen and Clarissa the rat are looking out the front door, quietly talking.  Waldo the weasel and Statler the stoat are each at a window, keeping watch.  Hank the huge male fox is the only one not doing something important right now.  He is walking past the end of the badgermaid's bed as she awakens.  He blinks as her eyes opens, then he turns to the young cat and says, "Er, er, I think she's awake..."  Blisa turns and hurries over to the badger's bedside, smiling.  "Good day!  I'm so glad you're awake!"

Zinnia blinks as she focuses "Where?...What happen I just remember this meeting and.." She frowns "Thats all."

Blisa goes to gently lay a paw on the badger's arm.  "There was a poisoning attempt.  Somebeast sent poisoned tea with Bramblefur to try and kill my father and Marek.  You were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.  Don't try to get up...you've been in a deep faint for about a week.  You're in the infirmary here in Ferravale."

Zinnia listens and gets a worried look" A...week?" Her voice is weak and she does at first try to get up "Papa...he, he must-coughs some- must be worried, I..I can't stay...here" She places a paw on her forehead as she is a little dizzy .

Blisa nods.  "Yes, a week.  Zee sent a letter to Redwall, telling them what happened, and Leon came to help.  You don't need to worry, and I don't think it would be wise for you to leave right now.  You should wait until your strength is back.  If you'd like," she adds, smiling gently.  "I can send them a letter saying that you woke up."

Zinnia nods "That...would be good I don't want Papa to worry" She has a coughing fit and frowns, "Stress could hurt him...h...how long will I be here?"

Blisa shrugs.  "I have no idea.  Until you're strong enough to walk back to Redwall, most likely.  And I will send the letter right away so he won't be stressed.  I promise."  Her smile broadens, and she makes an invisible X on her chest with her finger.

Zinnia manages a small smile "T..Thank you. Is your father and Marek ok?" Yeah she did ask if Marek was ok as well.

Blisa tilts her head in acknowledgment of the thanks.  "My pleasure.  Yes, they are fine.  They didn't get nearly as much as you."

Zinnia is tried and stays awake long enough to hear an answer to her question, but she is also still very weak and lets her eyes close. Luckily she is just asleep now as the danger of the deep faint has passed and she should recover slowly over the next few days, hopefully in time for the feast.

After the badgermaid falls asleep, Blisa goes over to the counter, pulls out a sheet of paper from her messenger bag, and borrows a quill pen and ink from the healers.  She sets about writing down the good news so she can send it on its way to the Abbey.
