<pre>The Black Gull - Tavern

The Black Gull is being redone slowly. The once dim lighting is now brightly enhanced by a more oil lamps, both on the walls and on the vertical support beams. Along the entire back wall is the bar, now longer, wall to wall with two flip sections to allow service beasts in and out. Before it is lined new seats of various sizes and shapes, to allow for the various creatures that enter the tavern. Behind the bar and out of reach of the patrons are racks of just about every liquid drink known to the vermin world, and a few yet undiscovered. The old broken mirror has been replaced finally. Now several smaller ones offer everybeast at the bar a view of what's behind them, set to maximize the lighting so serving beasts can see behind the bar easily. Over a dozen round oaken tables have been added to the floor, along with half a dozen larger rectangular ones for larger gatherings. All of them are now nailed down most solidly. The stage along the left wall has been removed, and it looks like something new may be going there. In fact, something has. A large oaken door labeled "Combat Arena" is there now. The images carved upon the door are of a fox and a ferret standing facing one another, swords crossed as if preparing to battle. There is a small sign on the door with the heading {Arena Rules} if anybeast wishes to read them. The floors have been redone in solid red oak, making it easier on the occasional face when a scuffle goes awry. Behind the heavy entrance doors are two large wooden beams wrapped in cloth, to prevent damage to the doors when larger beasts slam them open. Fifteen archer's slots are lined along the side and back walls , five per wall, each up rather high, so the archers are shooting down towards their target. They are always manned and ready to act upon Kragger, Valerian or Dukar's orders, should the need arise.

Algie is quietly wiping tables at the rear of the room.

Valerian trots down the stairs and behind the bar and begins helping Cheena clean up before the evening rush.

''Vaticus shouts, "On a peaceful night, as the sun is falling, the ground beneath you begins to tremble slightly. After a few quick moments, the shaking begins to increase to a much more violent blow. Branches fall, and things begin to crumble... The sounds of destruction can be heard in the distance all throughout the lands of Mossflower. Then... there is quiet...."''

Kirain slips in, out of breath, and sinks into a stool at the bar, gasping.

Algie yawns sleepily.....

Algie frowns at Valerian.

Kirain sighs, and calms himself, and chuckles, "Ale, eh? Boy've I got some news fer ye. Make yer slave problem a cinch."

Dillon enters from the entry.

''Vaticus shouts, "Amid the confusion and apparent destruction within the Mossflower region, the shaking once again begins to move the unstable dirt beneath your paws. Definitely not as strong as the main round, this shake still has some kick of its own. Weakened branches and stone fall about you, only adding to the disasterous mess which surrounds all in the region..."''

Valerian cusses as bottles crash to the floor around him. He takes shelter under the sturdy bartop.

Algie glances at Valerian, dropping the sponge he was holding in his paw, taking a step forward to balance himself, slips on the spong and BOOK.

"Bog in a bitva!" Valerian coughs, crawling out from under the bar. "Wo' in 'ellsteeth an' black 'Arry's 'rucksack w's 'at?"

Jyl and Amyeha scamper inside, Jyl holding a large bloody cloth to his side. "Amyehya..fa'na cyva.."

Teska enters from the entry.

Teska has arrived.

Kirain shudders, and continues to pant, smiling, "Ye'll love de news...is very good."

Fleg enters from the entry.

Fleg has arrived.

Algie sits up shakily.

Lor steps into the Black Gull, smiling to himself. "Well what do ya know. Seasons now beasts have doubted me. But now the omens have come true." He continyes to mutter to himself, moving to the back of the room to sit in the corner and continuing to mutter about omens coming true. "Knocked me outta me bleedin' tree, 'at shaker..."

Rhys mutters darkly, stepping into the tavern. "Val me mate, you a'right?" He turns to Kirain without awaiting an anwer. "Aye?"

Valerian pounds the bartop with his fist, and swipes a broken bottle away onto the floor. "Wot now, K'rain? Wot news 'ave you that'll put the liquor back on me shelves?"

Two foxes slip into the tavern. The taller is a typical tod, if exceptionally well groomed, but the shorter is pure black, and marked quite strangely. Both beasts seem quite pleased, and are chatting eagerly to each other.

Amyeha winces, and holds a paw to her left arm, which hangs limply at her side. "Fa'na cyva.." she says slowly.

Lor looks around at the beasts gathering and carrying on. He doesn't interrupt any of them, waiting fo the right beast to come to him instead.

Rush enters from the entry.

Rush has arrived.

Kirain snickers, "Wunnerful news. De shakin'...well...de redstone place d'n south, e'know, de woodiepit?"

Alijandro enters from the entry.

Lor moves to the bar, and calls for a strong drink, listening to the other beasts while he waits. He doesn't try to hide his listening, but watches the others intently. Once his drink is delivered, he pays, and drinks it, still watching.

Alijandro collapses in a chair completely overwhelmed by the occurences.

Kirain hisses into Val's ear quickly.

Torrence sits next to Alijandro, doing the same.

"En't no bratchny drinks, mate," Valerian fumes at Lor, "'Til I figgers out wot we got an' wot got smashed."

Kirain whispers, "De walls'r down! Dey felled in, anna woodiebeasts'r swarmin' out! We c'n 'ire all dese beasts, an restock yer pit AN yer liquor threefol'!" to you.

Kirain goes Away From Keyboard.

Jyl stumbles up to Valerian. "

Algie stands up shakily, shaking his head and wincing.

Valerian's eyes widen at Kirain's words, whispered in his ear. "Well, wot the bleedin' barmy Bog we waitin' for? Redwall Abbey's a shamble, an 'ere's plenty o' young muscle t'be taken!"

Jyl stumbles up to Valerian. He slams a chunk of sandstone onto the bar, and growls, with a grin on his face. "Fyhd cusadrehk...navnacrehk..." This sandstone is red, however. nd it's compeltely flat one one side, jagged on the other.

Rhys flicks his ear forward, and listens.

Teska and Fleg slip into a table near the majority of beasts. The vixen nods at Valerian. "Aye, what -are- we waiting for? The Abbey has never been more vulnerable." Her eyes are practically gleaming with the possibilities...Teska doesn't forget a grudge.

Alijandro goes Away From Keyboard.

Valerian roars, "I'll pay four silvers on the gol' to anybeas' brings me a Redwall bratchny f'my slave pit. You vecks get out 'ere an' make yselves some cutter!"

Lor thinks for a minute. "I betcha that most of the Whiskey'll be fine. I'm not too sure about that, but fairly." He listens to the others talk of taking slaves. "Well I think that'd be a fine idea. That's probly where my slave ran off to. The beast told me I could 'ave and when I got to where she was kept, the thing ran off. I'm too old of a beast to be doin' heavy work like tending slaves. Need a nice young beast to do my work."

You room page-pose, "Valerian calrifies, four silvers on the gold EXTRA."

Amyeha walks over with Jyl to the bar, and then shakes her head, "E zic' fyhd...y cmehk un cusadrehk. pacd drehk dy tu ec syga uh, ar?" she says to Jyl, then winces.

Algie walks slowly over to Valerian behind the bar.

Jyl looks up at Valerian. He motions to Amyeha's arm, then he arcs his own arm to mimic a sling...

Rhys draws the long kindjal from the sheath on his back and tests the blade with a paw. Calmly, he replies, "Don' soun' like a bad idea t'me, mates...leave now, I will. Who's wif me?"

Valerian tilts his head at Jyl, and slowly understands. He takes the rag from his shoulder and hands it to Jyl. "No charge, mate. Everybeas' a little busted up."

Fleg licks his lips at the mention of money, and fingers a sizeable lump on his snout. "Teska an' I be with you. We've gots a long standin' score t'settle wit that abbey an' its beasts."

Alijandro goes In Character.

Torrence has left.

Jyl nods. He turns to Amyeha, starting to fix the sling onto his comrades arm. "Dra suhao lycdma rc vymmah... ed'c uin lryhla du tusehyda ed, amyeha.."

Rhys room-pages, "Anyone else? I have the power to take slaves, whether they like it or not. >:)".

Lor smiles to Rhys. "Been waitin' to here a beast say that. I'll come, though I won't be much with a blade. Though ya may need my other services. I know herbs..." He pauses, before continuing. "And omens."

Algie room-pages, "OOh, me, me, me!".

Algie room-pages, "Lemme loot and pillage! Erm.....".

In a room page-pose, Rhys smacks the barslave with the flat of his blade. ;)

Amyeha nods slowly, and as Jyl finishes with the sling, she sighs deeply. "Oa kutc.. e kiacc oui'na nekrd, Jyl."

Vaticus shouts, "Out of the still comes a third jolt, as the ground again becomes fluidic beneath your paws. As things continue to crumble, the now flooding River Moss continues to surge into the countryside, only suplementing the terrible devastation that continues to grow. This jolt is more powerful than the last, causing more thinks to wall around you."

Kirain goes In Character.

Valerian paw-motions to Jyl, and holds up a chain from behind the bar, pointing to Algie. "Ge' me a few strong malchicks, mate? Make if worth y'while, I will..." He rubs two fingers together.

Jyl blinks at Valerian. Smirks. He simply points to the chip off of redwall abbey that he collected, grins devilishly, and swats it off the table, planing his fisted paw firmly where it once was. I think he gets it.

Kirain turns back to Valerian, having quite caught his breath, "Godda knife ah kin borrer? I'l sharpen'r fer ye!"

Lor grips the counter, stumbling as he stands, and as he catches himself and holds onto the counter as the third jolt comes. He smiles, and waits for the jolt to end before letting go of the bar.

Valerian rummages around behind the bar and comes up with a functional, wicked-looking dirk for Kirain. And a hunk of lead. "Take a few o'me rings, mate, an' 'is 'ere lead billy, put it in y'paw. Gives one 'ell of a tolchock."

Rhys is steady on his feet, but the jolt causes even him to nearly fall.

Valerian curses again and stumbles, slipping on spilled alcohol.

Amyeha shakes her head to no beast but herself, then puts her uninjured arm on the counter, keeping herself steady from the next jolt. Her eyes shut tightly as the paw seems to nearly dig into the counter.

Rhys room-pages, "Jyl, was that an affirmative?".

Kirain examines the blade, and grins as he clutches the bar and grits his teeth, "Preddy 'ting. C'n ah jist h'v dis fer pay an' ferget de coin 'e 'ired me fer?"

Jyl room-pages, "Yes.".

Dyomun enters from the entry.

Dyomun has arrived.

Valerian gets back to his feet and utters strong oaths under his breath. "Sure, mate...jus' bring me plunder!"

Swiftral enters from the entry.

Swiftral has arrived.

Teska just barely manages to keep her feet and scramble beneath a table, but Fleg isn't so lucky. The fox slips and falls flat on his rump, then throws both paws over his head, whimpering. So much for his previous bravado. "Oh get under here you useless lump," Teska hisses, reaching out to drag him under the table.

Kirain slips the overgrown knife onto his rope belt, and smiles like a babe with a new toy, "Dankee! 'll never ferget it!

"On t'yon abbey!" Rhys shouts, raising his fighting knife over his head. "All who seek slaves an' riches follow!"

Kirain slips his new toy out of it's sheith, and plays with it for a moment, getting the weight, "Aye! Bloo' an gol' flow t'nite!"

Lor chuckles. "Come on beasts. I predict good fortunes if we follow now. We'd better hurry though. I doubt we're the only ones to take advantage of this."

Dyomun bares his teeth, entering in shakily. He's never dreamed of anything like this, not anything... a few foreign curses are uttered from his teeth as well, as he makes his way over to his comrades. "Jyl..." *cough, cough* "Amyeha. Fryd dra valg rybbahat?" Harsh, harsh.

Valerian yanks Algie by the collar. "An' you, merzky...don' leave me sight."

Jyl bres his teeth menacingly at Dyomun, "sycdan! dra suhao lycdma rc vymmah! zueh ic, fa'mm dyga ed!"

Algie winces as he's yanked about by Valerian.

Dyomun nods. "E ghuf... E fyc jano hayn frah ed rybbahat. Dra crulg... ed lnispmat. Mega uid uv y hekrdsyna. Syho yna tayt, E drehg. Fa bmihtan cuuh un hud yd ymm."

Nadine enters from the entry.

Nadine has arrived.

Amyeha nods quickly, but says nothing. She seems oddly quiet now, letting go of the counter, and now just staring out all dazed.

Rhys starts eading out the door, followed by his entourage. "Well be back, Val. Wif' pluder apenty."

Lor smiles. "Good fortunes mate. Good fortunes for all." The old rat pulls out a crooked and rusty dirk. "I haven't fought in a bit. Should be fun. Hehe." The Seer Rat is in good spirits.

Teska has disconnected.

Teska leaves Rhys's group and wanders off on her own.

Dukar says again. "WELL?"

Dukar lowers an ear and growls. "Ok mouse, either you talk or I'm gonna give you more ventilation than a dead rat at Badgerfest."

Valerian crawls out from behind the bar, a bloody rag on the side of his head. "Wo' the bolshy Bog's goin' on 'ere, D'kar?"

Dukar says, "Got some blighter mouse about, about to extend his silence, seeing as how he refuses to reply."

Algie hides behind Valerian.

"Aye, me slave," Valerian replies.

Dukar blinks, than bursts out laughing, waving Kragger down, glaring at the guard. "Kragger, next time, if ye know something, ye'd better bloody say so or I'll have YOUR arse on the wall next time around."

Kragger nods and goes back to his drink as Dukar walks up to Valerian. "I needed a laugh after today.....slave eh....ought to teach it to talk, might save its life." Valerian groans and reels...the rag on the side of his head *is* rather bloody.

Algie frowns, showing almost a sort of concern in his look at Valerian, he offers his soapy sponge to the beast,

Dukar angles an ear. "Shaker got you too, full report." he says, waving for Val to sit at a table. "Cheena, bring us something."

Valerian regards Algie with a smirk, and waves off the sponge. "Y'r worth every gol' bit I paid f'you, malchick. N'thanks."

Dukar eyes Valerian, waiting for him to take a seat and give a status report.

Dukar goes ahead and sits, pulling out a paper and sighing.

Kirain enters from the entry.

Valerian settles into the seat across from Dukar, a woozy scowl on his face. "We los' sev'ral bottles, a shelf, an' yon mirror's cracked. Ask Kragger to 'ave a proper look at our buildin'."

Ferratia limps up to the bar and waves to Dukar and Vlaerian. "Something hard, please."

Cheena looks around the wrecked shelves and pours Ferratia...Fire'n'Ice.

Kirain limps in with a bandage on his right leg, trailing two bound/gagged beasts, a mousemaid and a squirrelmaid, standing just inside the door questionally, "Whadda I do wid dese tings? De attack worked, by de way. Godda coinpurse anna sword fer ya too, if'n 'e wan..."

Dukar nods and looks to Kragger "Send Yval to do a complete survey. NOW."

Kragger nods and goes to assign the task, returning shortly.

Dukar looks to Val. "Your slave....does he help you here in the Gull?" he asks, nodding to Ferratia and waving for Cheena to take care of her.

Valerian nods slowly. "Aye, malchick...Algie...cleans tables an' floor."

Ferratia nod and pays for it, gritting her teeth as she pulls her leg up to sit properly, and takes a drink.

Dukar says, "Well Val, whatever you paid for him, take from the coin barrel below before we count for the night whatever it was plus half again."

Dukar peers at Ferratia. "You too?"

Ferratia looks over. "Got thrown down and a stone hit me hard, I must have been out for hours....leg's swollen and I can't bend it, but I can still get about."

Algie yawns, and returns to his corner for the ngiht.

Algie wanders over to a corner.

Algie has left.

Valerian gives Dukar a confused sort of look.

Dukar sets his paper down. "We lost one trade run, a ship, and perhaps 2 outposts. The eastern valley is closed off, so we're going to be hurting for supllies unless we resort to Collinsel. Are those runs still open?"

Dukar grins. "If you bought him and he helps you work here, then reimburse yourself. I'll chalk it in as 'hired help' or something."

Ferratia rubs her head and keeps her ears pulled back.

Alexandria growls quickly and struggles with the bounds, and the gag for that matter. She has a broken leg, which she doesn't seem to notice yet.

Mona stumbles along still feeling on the light headed side. She tries to pull her paws up to touch the lump on the back of her head and almost falls flat on her muzzle as Kirain yanks on the ropes. She mutters something rather obscene under her breath, most likely, one may guess, about Kirain's origins.

Kirain ties the rope to a secure fastening somewhere in the room, and dumps a coin pouch and the sword on the table next to the conversing businessbeasts, "That's wha' I picked up. Dankee fer de dirk, by de by. I'll head off an' take a nap, eh? Busy day."

Kirain wanders off back into the common room.

Kirain goes Out Of Character.

Mona glares after Kirain giving one testing pull on the rope after the beast departs. She glances aside at Alexandria and mumers quietly, "Miss, you alright?"

Dukar peers at the mice. "Yours I believe Val?" "Take all th'liquor y'can drink...y'gold I'll 'ave shortly," The ermine says, voice slurred.

Darrius enters from the entry.

Darrius has arrived.

Dukar says, "Kragger, fetch some pillows or something. Val, just relax."

Valerian nods slowly, wincing suddenly with pain.

Alexandria nods to Mona quietly, not saying anything.

Mona takes the time now to step in close to the post to allow her paws to stretch up behind her head and rub gingerly at the lump she finds there and the small trickle of blood. She sighs, taking the free time to look around the tavern room...hrm...kinda neat. She never seen the inside before.

Alexandria looks at Mona, she's seen this place all too much. She looks at her leg, which is poorly set.

Kirain leaves the tavern.

Kirain has left.

Ferratia rests her head on the bartop and tries to relax.

"Dukar, mate...I'm sleepy," Valerian says finally. "I'd like t'get me battered bottom upstairs an' sleep 'is 'ere lump off."

".. bloody wankin' /hell/, Sam!" comes a vixen wail as the ragged figure of Aeysin stumbles through the swinging doors. ".. my .. house is a pile of bloody /rocks!/" She is clearly irate about the recent bad turn of events--and also appears somewhat bruised and sore. 

Valerian turns his bloody, rag-wrapped head to the arriving vixen with a weak smile. "Oh, Aey there, hey..."

Aeysin discontinues her screeching at the tod that accompanies her. ".. Val! .. whe--my /house/ is .. crumpled." She plops down in a bar stool with a cringe, exasperated.

Deckart grunts softly as he ducks his head to fit through the doors just after Aeysin, lifting a hand to scratch the back of his head as a worried expression riddles his features... He seems better for wear than his cousin, just a split lip and a couple of bruises in one place or another. Holding his hand out with a grunt, he follows after Aey like a puppy. "Hey, hey, Aey... C'mon... I'll help y'build a new one. These things happen, ey?"

"As' D'kar real nice, Aey..." Valerian replies, craning around in his seat. "If 'e won't give you a room, I'll pay f'r et m'self. Things right proper bad all over."

Aeysin stabs him with a very icy glare. ".. y'dun /not/ know how t'build a house, Sam--" She halts to take in Valerian's words. Ears prick, head turns, and the vixen walks toward the appropriate ferret. ".. ehe--sir," she whimpers Dukar (her pain is clearly exaggerated), ".. m'house is in shambles .. care to be generous to a fox down on her luck?"

Dukar says, "take a seat, Cheena, serve any normal customer with tabs....we'll settle later when things calm down....if they are woodlander, have them shot on sight."

"Kitchen's a shambles, boss..." Cheena snorts. "But I'll see what I c'n do."

Darrius leaves the tavern.

Darrius has left.

Mona continues to gaze slightly curiously around the room. She watches Aeysin attempt to work her way into a free drink and chuckles lightly in some amusement. She doesn't seem to take the fact that she's now imprisoned in a vermin bar too terribly hard. She notices Dukar...it appears he's the boss, and she gives the beast a good look over.

Dukar says, "Kragger, put three guards at Cheen'a side. They are to aid her as she sees fit."

Deckart's mouth twists in all sorts of directions as Aey shoots him a look and a snap of the tongue, shrinking his 2-meter frame a bit as he flops down in the seat next to his cousin... Grunting faintly, he touches the side of his face gingerly, giving a 'yow' as he contacts a bruise that's mostly affected surface tissue. "... I always figuered it weren't half s'bad as buildin' boats fur Uncle Vanye, coz..."

In a room page-pose, Deckart apologizes for suddenly trying to instill Sam's accent. ;P He's still trying to figure out the gymnastics of it.

Ferratia has disconnected.

Dukar sweeps Ferratia off to her home.

Ferratia is sent home.

Ferratia has left.

Aeysin presses her eyes shut, and slides down in the seat. ".. oi, Sam," she mutters at her cousin, ".. we'll work it out in a few days." A less frantic paw motions away his sorrow with a light wave.

Dukar says, "Stay alert Val, we need everyone we can hold on to."

Mona sighs lightly giving the rope a couple more sharp tugs, though it doesn't give in the slightest and she mutters, "Fine knot..."

Aey's words serve to calm Sam down a bit -- his empathy alerts seem to be going crazy as far as the happenings of the day are concerned, and he reaches out a hand to fluffle the hair at the top of her head, grinning faintly as he props his heels up on the lowest rungs of his barstool, turning around to face the rest of the tavern as a sigh heaves from his chest. "I'm wonderin' if per'aps this might affourd me the opportunity ta' get some wuerk done.... Any ideas in that fair clever mind of yuirs, coz?"

Valerian rolls his head side to side and fights to stay alert. "Aye, boss..."

Aeysin flicks an ear to the side. ".. your face all right, 'coz?" she questions of the tod, critically glancing at his bruise. ".. It would be a shame if you were forever ugly because of /my bloody collapsing house./" She pauses. ".. and my mind is /not/ so clever." She is objecting randomly.

Mona sighs lightly giving the rope a couple more sharp tugs, though it doesn't give in the slightest and she mutters, "Fine knot..." The mousemaid after a little bit more study of the room takes a seat on the ground, bracing her back agianst the very post she's tied too. She draws up her cloak hood in order to drape it down over her eyes to cut on the light from the tavern lamps and she closes her eyes. Might as well get some rest...she ain't going anywhere for a while.

Aeysin squints at the ermine. ".. you don't look so swell, mate," she tells him, as if he was unaware.

Valerian chuckles at Aeysin. "Aye, feel proper sloshed, me...bu' I en't taken naught bu' a bottle to the *side* o'me gulliver."

Dukar looks around and mrfs. "Could have been alot worse....."

Aeysin lifts her ankle for better visibility. ".. my leg's a bit sore--not broken, thankfully--m'back too." She drops her foot and leans against the table. ".. frankly, Sam," she tells him, pointing to her cousin, ".. and I are lucky to be /alive/ .. much less still kickin'."

Dukar says, "Ok Kragger, have any available guards off duty assist with clean up, report to Cheena or Myself. Valerian after he is more himself."

Mona has disconnected.

Deckart umphs softly, looking across the bar as he makes some vague attempt at summoning the barkeep, flagging him down for two pints of lager; one for himself and one for Aeysin. He fingers the sorely flat looking pouch on the right side of his belt, eyeing it with yet -another- worried glance as he looks back up at Aey. "Eh? Nou, m'fine... S'nothin' but a bump." He chuckles, waving a hand at Aey as he turns around towards the bar, grinning faintly as he waits for the drinks to arrive, raising a hand for lack of a glass. "Caith siar e agus na lig anair a., eh coz?"

Aeysin offers Deckart a faint smile. ".. aye." She, likewise, lifts her hand. And then her face returns to its palm. ".. oi."

Dukar gets up. "Cmon Val, I'm taking you upstairs. Cheena, Kragger, you're on it tonight. We're now open dusk till dawn until this mess is over."

Valerian gets shakily to his feet. "Startin' t'wake up again, boss..." He says. "I've a fear if I sleep now I won't wake."

Kragger sighs and gets up, walking over and dragging another sleeping beast off to the Commons room.

Mona has left.

Aeysin flicks an ear. ".. we'll make sure he stays standin'," she says, offering Dukar a less-than-convincing vulpine grin. Her tail swishes. ".. aye." A curt nod of her head.

Dukar nods. "If you think you can handle it, its your call."

Deckart sighs slowly... Cheena takes her time, but Deckart's fine with it - he understands that everyone's probably pretty well shaken... About as much as himself and his relation. Pushing the rather tall glass of lager that comes to him over to Aeysin, he shovels six coppers - his last - over the bar before picking up his glass with a smile. "Slainte."

Aeysin stretches; her arms raise above her head, bach arches (with a few audible pops) and voice grunts. ".. feh." She snatches the lager and nods at her cousin. ".. slainte, 'coz." Conversely, cheer is not something be found in her tone.

Deckart mmfs softly at Aeysin's... Well, apparent lack of enthusiasm. 'Course, he never really did drink much with her before. Tipping his glass back, he turns to the bar as he gives a long sigh, like a deflating tire. "Ach... Coz, d'yu 'ave any idea where 'tis we're going to sleep t'neght?" ".. here, gods willing," Aeysin grunts, and returns her lips to the rim of the glass.

Dukar says, "You can stay in the common room here, or at the Fang and Claw's common room a bit north. It fared better than we, being farther away."

Aeysin's icy expression melts; it is replaced by a somewhat grateful smile for the ferret. ".. thank you," she says, clipping him a short nod.

Deckart nods. Well, it works for him, he supposes -- not having any experience with either, as far as he knows. Sipping at his drink again, he breathes a deep sigh, smirking faintly as he glances across to his cousin. "Any thoughts'ah packin' up what yu've heyr an' cumin' home, coz?"

Dukar nods back, returning to his papers, trying to sort out how to best figure out a resupply route.

Dukar exclaims, "Val!"

Dukar turns in his seat to look at the Ermine. "You with it yet?"

Aeysin is momentarily dazzled by the remaining shards of broken glass about--she watches the crude, fantastic show put on by the reflection of latern light. ".. home? You mean to Anapa?" She directs her remarks to Deckart, but fails to look at him. These many shades of glass really have her captivated. ".. neh .. nah--not worth the hike."

In a room page-pose, Deckart ... egad!

Deckart umphs softly, resting an elbow up on the bar as he tips a nod. He's not quite so fascinated by the glass -- he's used to disorder. Maybe not in these proportions, but he seems to be fairly easy compared to many of the beasts to be found about the parts. "Yeh, I s'poose yer reight.."

Aeysin picks at a tooth with her claw. ".. what is it, you know? .. six moons at /least/ between here and there, Sam?" She gives in to idle consideration--or uses it as an excuse to continue staring at the broken glass bits. Aeysin lifts her chin, breaking her fascination with the wreckage. ".. how much damage did the rest of the woods take on?" she questions of no one in particular. ".. haven't been south of here yet."

Nightblade enters from the entry.

Nightblade has arrived.

Deckart smiles softly as he glances sideways at his cousin, shrugging as he tips his head back, draining his glass considerably... He should probably be moderating the rate of his intake as he doesn't have any more money, but he doesn't. "Th' loongest rehd oet es th' shartest rehd home, coz." He wraps his glass in both hands, yawning slowly. "Ay, mo' tosaia."

Rhys enters from the entry.

Rhys has arrived.

Rhys stumbles into the tavern, a young bound squirrel in tow. Blood runs down from a dirty gash across his back.

Jared enters from the entry.

Jared has arrived.

The heavily-accented words of her cousin shoot down Aeysin's spine as a chill, and causes the fur on the back of her neck to bristle. What an annoyance, that. ".. what ever," she apathetically murmurs to him, and dismisses the wisdom by dropping her face to the tabletop.

Aeysin lifts her head immediately at the commotion of a new entrant. ".. geck," she grunts, critically eyeing the scene.

Valerian regards Rhys with glassy eyes. "Eh, g'work, Rhys mate...Cheena, 'elp 'im. I'm gettin' some sack."
