RW Abbey: Breezeway

A covered, narrow walkway connecting both the smaller building of the kitchens and the large, dwarfing building of the Great Hall.  It is a walkway for the kitchen's servers for easy access to the Hall during mealtimes and Feasts. Because it is covered, it is mostly protected from the weather but outside so that more easy access to it is afforded.  At almost all times, beasts can be seen scurrying across its surface -- despite their destination and the weather going on around them.  Life must go on!

New growth sprouts up around the edges of the walkway but anything that managed to take root in the walkway and breezeway itself finds itself trampled -- and quite not worth the energy of rooting there.  Brisk, slightly chilly spring breezes find their way into the breezeway, stirring the puddles of the many rainstorms that always manage to dump water onto the little, narrow walkway -- despite the coverings and shelter.

Elmef is leaning on the baulstrode of the Breezeway watching the rain sheeting down from above, the grounds are soaked and so is Elmef. He waves to a few of his brothers and a couple of Novices running in from the orchards and gardens. "Ok is that everyone?"  He asks as above ground thunder BOOMS

Leon had been outside trying to have a quiet place to think when the storm hits, he rushes to the closest place which happens to be the breezeway and frowns, so much for quiet thinking. He is lucky not to have his surcoat on, just his robes today and the healers bag is in the infirm, he had went to the grounds to take a walk after he straightened up the infirm and laid his stuff on one of the cots before he went out.

Silverstorm steps out into the breezeway and jumps at the thunder. Her left paw is still bandaged as she frowns. She never did like rainstorms, ever since she was a dibbun she disliked them.

Lightning flashes, illuminating the sky and thunder rumbles once more as Elmef turns away to look at Leon and raises a paw, "Leon good day, and miss SIlverstorm as well."

Leon nods "Looks like one of those spring storms, those were always so sudden sometimes. I was not paying attention and was outside trying to take a walk, guess was lucky I was close to here to get out of the rain" He looks at Silverstorm, "How is the paw today?"

Silverstorm answers as she makes sure it stays dry, "Its fine. I have had the bandage changed earlier and its healing good they said"

Elmef says, "Well I am glad you are healing well."  He looks out at the storm, the rain pouring down and hissing loudly, "Yes it did catch us quite by surprise as we were walking the wheat."

Leon nods sighs, " Yes...crops are doing well then? Then it’s a while till fall harvest, closer to summer than fall." He sounds a little tried but is also curious "Speaking of summer soon, when is the summer feast? I was talking to someone on like feasts and all a few days ago, they were curious on something...sort of used feast as a way to say when..seasons were mainly in full swing"

Elmef says, "Well you would have to ask Abbot Benar but I believe he is planning something big for the Summer Feast. I am sure news will spread soon."

Leon nods, "Sounds good..." He then adds "Sorry I am just a little tried and thinking on couple things, one talking with a beast on...some stuff." He leaves it at that for now.

Silverstorm listens, " Feasts are fun here."

Elmef smiles at SIlverstorm, "I am sure the Abbot has something extra special planned for us all soon." He then looks back at Leon and places a hand on his arm, "Are you... ok Leon?"

Leon nods slowly "I am fine, let’s just say being a healer is hard. Not the skill...no, just...helping sometimes, or.." He frowns, "Maybe I am still upset over Lorimis death, I mean I KNEW he was worse than he said, but he hid it well.." He walks over to look at the rain as it falls outside, "And..."

Silverstorm smiles "Cool...you think I could be promoted to Sister.." He frowns as Leon goes on stops, maybe this is not the best time for this."Ummm...should I go elsewhere?"

Thunder rumbles, reflecting Leon's dark mood and the small mouse stands beside him. "You did all you could for Lorimis, no one can say you didn't. If it was his time it was his time..." He then looks at SIlverstorm and smiles, "If you have done well in all your lessons and you can get at least two different members of the order to vouchsafe you before the Abbot then the Summer Feast is the time when you could be promoted."

Leon shrugs, he still frowns "Also...there is.." He sighs as he had promised not to tell anyone, well he did mention certain beasts or was it everyone.." Well like I said, should be ok for summer, maybe not fall...even less sure on winter..." He seems to not care of the thunder and lightning outside and looks to Elmef, "I got asked a question and wasn’t sure how to answer it..even gave someone a checkup, they couldn’t do everything and wasn’t expecting them too just stand..how long ect...got asked to not tell anyone my thoughts but I should least tell a couple beasts here..I..I don’t know I just don’t" He seems to be trying to not cry maybe, and he manages to not cry.

Silverstorm nods to Elmef and half listens as he and Leon speak, " Yeah...I think I will go inside..." So she heads inside.

Elmef frowns at Leon, "Ah... is this... is this about Zork?" He looks at SIlverstorm, worry in his eyes, "I noticed he's been... stuck in a chair"

Leon frowns and nods, he watches the otter head off, and looks back to him "I am unsure how well she does with...forge stuff. I know she helped a few days ago when there was a problem with the forge, forgot the main problem but it was a lot less..how did he put it..wasn’t as bad as it could have been since it was caught early but it can be fixed easily.." He sighs "Yes he is in the wheelchair most of the time now, he can't walk. He tried a couple steps and fell, he is ok just told him to take it easy rest of the day. He can stand..sort of, maybe a checkup was a bad idea but was curious on what he meant by couldn’t stand well."

Elmef nods his head, "I think.... Zork will get better. He is stronger every day Leon and Silverstorm is a good forge beast. She is learning well I think we should support her to full sister hood at the Abbot's Processional"

Leon says, ""I..hope so but I am unsure, guess time will tell." He nods to the Processional "I heard of that , may talk to him and see if I should help or not. I need some time off at the infirm, think just been stressed and worried past couple weeks on every little thing. Zork does have his weak heart problem but he has also done a good job of taking it easy and not doing anything to over stress himself."

Elmef says, "Time is the best healer and you cannot spend all summer being stressed out about this. You should go on the Abbot's trip. It would do you right”

Leon nods and manages a smile "I could leave Angela in charge, and I..I admit I rarely take time off and this would be a good idea. A trip and fresh air...who would be left in charge while Benar is gone, I know it’s not too long but someone would have to do his job for that time."

Elmef says, "Well that would be me, I draw the short straw there I have to stay behind and tend the Abbey whilst the Abbot is away with all you lucky beasts.”

Leon chuckles a little "Well I may end up going if Abbot Benar allows, maybe even Dorarose could come..our kids could stay here and I am sure they would be fine."

Elmef says, "Your children should go along with you, make it a family outing. It is an event for the whole abbey"

Leon asks, "So I am guessing, others join us later or do all come back here in time for the feast? What about Lilymores lessons with the bell and Caleb cooking lessons?"

Elmef says, "They can wait a week or two whilst the Abbot is journeying about and the feast happens at the edge of the Quarry. It is to be a grand affair that all Mossflower are invited to attend, a celebration of the birth of the Abbey"

Leon nods "Sounds fun, who all is going? I know some wont and some will need help to where the feast is after wards."

Elmef says, "Ah I don't have the full list I am afraid."

Leon nods "Well that’s ok, still time to get ready to go. And a few guards can go just in case but I think most of the trouble has passed, have not heard of..least much trouble on the roads"

Elmef says, "Oh my yes, do believe the Abbot is planning to take the Champion and quite a few guards along to be extra safe"

Leon nods again and smiles “I will go too, with Dorarose and the kids as well, like said I trust Angela to watch things in the infirm while I am away. I will also make sure the infirm is very well stocked before then, though I always do that as I did today it’s very well stocked now."

Elmef says, "Angela is a very good healer I am sure she'll be just fine on her own"

Leon smiles "Should be, and she will have some novice as well to help. Hmms I wonder if Silverstorm should go with us, might cheer her up and I do know that, whatever part, needs replaced in the forge anyways..though she may be needed to stay here, hmmmms" He tries to think of anyone else that might go as well, " Not sure who else should come or go along with us..maybe the recorder? Or are they needed here? I know Oz needs to stay with the dibbuns and not sure how well he would enjoy a trip like that being blind...he could help you around the abbey maybe"

Elmef says, "The recorder should be joining the abbot and Oz I think was planning to stay at home with me and Silverstorm should totally go"

Leon nods" One of us will have to let her know, Sister Zinnia that is, of this trip and it’s a way to learn some things of the abbey that even I do not know of"

Elmef smiles and goes to head on inside the abbey to speak with the abbot.

Leon heads on over to the infirm, to double check the supplies and then he heads to the cavern hole as it’s still pouring down rain .
