Amethyst is sitting in the study sewing. Baby Wilco had been put down for a nap in nearby basket. Amy hums to herself as she works on new springs clothes for Clenal and the baby.

Wilco is laying in the basket, but is still wide awake. She's fiddling and making crabby paws up at the ceiling, wanting to get out and do stuff. Whatever babies want to do of course. But when Christopher comes in, she stops and stares at him. What's with all the weasel like things? He doesn't even notice the kid. "Hey Amy." he greets, putting a pile of folded, clean clothes on top of Wilco. Her head still sticks out and she giggles when he doesn't realize what he did.

"Hello, Chris," the blind rat greets her nephew biting the end of the thread off her needle as she ties it off. She re-threads the needle and looks in his direction. "Seen th new babe yet?" she asks casually. She is unaware that he'd just dropped a pile of clothes on her daughter.

Christopher blinks a little then ohs. "Thane? Yeah. He's so cute, don't you think?" he smiles then blinks. "Oh...uh...sorry." he frowns a little. He doesn't hear the giggle from the rat in the basket who has started to unfold the clothes and play with them.

"No, th liddle un in th basket ere," the rat says with a chuckle, "She should be in there. Not old enough yet t get out of it."

The stoat blinks. "What?" he looks over to the basket. "Oh wow! I just put a whole pile of clothes in there...." he spots the pile moving but can't see the babe clearly. "Whose it? Whats the name?" he asks, tilting his head a little.

Amethyst quickly tosses her sewing aside and picks up the basket pushing clothes off it as she does so. She feels Wilco to be sure the babe is alright and tries to remain calm. "Christopher, you could have killed your cousin," she says through gritted fangs. She is trying not to yell but this is a serious matter. "Her name is Wilco. She was born a few days ago," the mother rat adds petting the babe.

Chris blinks. "I'm sorry...the babe was playing with them when I...hey...wait now...cousin? She?" he stares at the babe and blinks. "You...you...and William...she's YOURS?! She's...she?" he blinks.

Amethyst sighs, "Yes your uncle and I had a baby girl. It's not like we're ancient like Aik is. We have three rats at Moledeep now. And this one," she holds up the babe, "Is very liddle and easy t be stomped on by otters an stoats. Thet's why she was in th basket 'stead o on th floor rug or some other place."

"Rat...she...you..." And then there's a LONG pause. "Ungh...." and then there's a really LOUD thud on the floor. Christopher...is out like a light.

Amethyst pets Wilco and rocks her while talking to her softly, "Seems cousin Chris-a-bell though about that a liddle too much. He'll wake up soon though, don't you worry." She stretches a footpaw out to lightly poke the stoat. He may have a headache when he gets up.

Chris groans and rubs his head, slowly waking up. He sits up and huffs a little. "What happened?" he asks, blinking a little bit as he looks to Amy and Wilco who giggles and points at Chris.

"You threw a fit and tried to knock your brains in from what I can figure out," Amy says, "Yes, she's a girl but is that really so bad? She'll never be a big as th twins so you need'int worry about her playing with you like they did."

"Huh? OH yeah..." Chris blinks. "Well...uh...I'm just surprised that...you...had a kid...I mean. You...and Will...why didn't you say anything? Oh...uh. Congratulations by the way."

Amethyst says, "Eh, she came liddle unexpectedly. Didn't know she was coming til after she got ere."

Chris nods slowly and then blinks. "How couldn't you not know?" he asks, tilting his head slightly to the side, blinking a bit more and reaching down, picking up the sewing stuff that Amy was working on, setting it on the arm of her chair.

Amethyst says, "I don't know. But aside from bein' hungier than usual there weren't any o th usual signs leadin' up t her bein' born."

Christopher shrugs just a little. "I suppose that your moody enough we didn't notice any change." he jokes with a chuckle. "Heheh."

"Yew an otter t day?" she asks, "Or yew jus forgit yer manners?"

The stoat blinks. "Sorry...it was just a joke." Chris frowns just a little and then starts to pickup those clothes that Wilco messed up on him, folding them again slowly.

Amethyst says, "It wasn't a very good joke. Yew don't talk like thet t ladies. I know Yew've been taught thet." Changing the subject she asks, little more cheerfully, "What'd yew come in ere for in th first place?"

"Sorry." Then Chris nods. "Oh! Just came in to see if there were any dirty clothing laying around so that mum could wash them." he nods. "I'm on gathering duty." he frowns just a little bit. "Thankfully its just that for now"

Amethyst says, "Don't think there's any in ere, but yew kin look."

The stoat nods and sets about looking, grabbing just what he had dropped. "Nope. Nothing in here. But mum told me to look everywhere." he chuckles a little.

Amethyst nods, "Better do what she says then.”

Christopher nods and hums. "Yeah...so. I'll get going so I don't keep her waiting or anything." he nods. "Congrats again..." he says with a bit of a smile, waiting a little before he turns towards the door.

"Yew kin come play with th babe when yer done if yew like," Amy calls after him as he leaves. She lightly bounces her daughter, "What'd yew think o yer cousin, Wilco?" she asks the babe.

The stoat smiles and nods. "I will." he says but then vanishes soon after.

Wilco only giggles a little and waves at the stoat before peering back up at her mother.
