View source for Another Fight And This One Ends Badly


Ebony looks around the camp, not far from where they left the mouse, maybe ¼ a mile away.

Patchfur yawns and nods to Ebony, ”Hey boss lady, Morgan is out finding more beasts to rob and valuables to get and..I am hungry” He complains.”

Leon is awake and looks depressed as he sits where he was left during the night, worry about his father has slowly gotten to him and it’s been overnight now, 6 good hours almost.

Ebony folds her arms over her chest “Then, I don’t know get the mouse to cook” Also in the camp is about 3 other rats, most are out with Morgan it would seem.

Patchfur grins and goes to force Leon to stand “Your now cook mouse so..cook!” He shoves him towards a pot of what looks like very watery oatmeal, or maybe cornmeal.

Leon narrows his eyes “I am not…” An idea comes to him as he sighs “Fine, I will cook.”

Patchfur smirks “Ya better and no you won’t get any, it’s for us..hahahahah” He then goes to sit letting the mouse cook breakfast.

Ebony raises an eyebrow as she watches Patchfur and shakes her head “When Morgan returns he and I need to have a serious chat.”

Patchfur nods “Course boss lady, whatever ya say”

Leon waits till no one is watching and pulls out an herb, no not poison it’s sleeping herbs and quickly, with some mint leaves mixes into the oatmeal and stirs it up, he steps back and calls out, ”Your breakfast is cooked, now what?”

Ebony watches as 3 of the rats get up to get some of the oatmeal and sits back down starting to eat it, she gets some and sniffs it, hmmming softly but doesn’t eat it yet.

Patchfur smirks “Ya sit down and watch us eat it and be wishing you had it” He goes to get some and takes a couple mouthfuls and shrugs.

Leon sits down a little ways off, “Whatever you say Patchfur” He then simple waits.

Ebony watches as the 3 rats fall asleep and sits her bowl down, she closes her eyes but she is faking being asleep and keeps an ear listening to the mouse.

Patchfur makes a face and doesn’t eat as much as the others, he yawns and rubs his eyes being very tried , but still awake somewhat.

Leon gets up since he is untied and quickly dashes downstream to where he last saw Taran, he is quick on his foot paws and soon finds him “Dad! Oh please..please still be alive” He checks for a pulse and checks his wound.

Taran is alive, just barely, he has some dried mud on his chest where the wound is and it seems to have helped stop the bleeding, but he is still ill with fever and if one looks at his leg they will know why, he groans weakly as his pulse is weak and he is not conscious.

Leon frowns and quickly gets to work, pulling out herbs and using the river water to clean the wound best he can, he then checks the wound and applies any herbs for infection and swelling, a little inside the wound and he sews it, applying herbs then on top of the wound and goes to bandage it. He gets out willow bark and feverfew and a little water and helps Taran drink it by rubbing his throat to help him swallow it.

Ebony has followed the mouse after a short while and stays quiet as she doesn’t bother him, she oddly lets him work.

Taran groans weakly again and coughs, getting most of the mixture down, he moves his leg and tenses up, a nasty looking infected wound from a few days ago is on his lower leg.

Leon checks the leg for a wound and gasps, he frowns “Dad…” He acts quickly and using a knife he keeps with him frowns “This..will hurt  but needs done” He cuts away some of the infection and quickly applies cayenne herbs and a lot of herbs for infection and swelling and applies a tight bandage. Tears of worry go down his cheeks.

Ebony keeps watching him from where she is and then jumps down out of the tree, "You know, that was an interesting trick putting sleeping herbs in the oatmeal, I figured something was up, guess the others didn’t and your lucky Morgan is elsewhere with some of the fighters" She for now is alone.

Leon turns quickly to the voice and frowns. "Look take me back to your camp if you must but let me help him first"

Patchfur follows his leader and blinks “Hey found the mouse..can I kill him NOW..please”

Taran says nothing, he has slipped into a faint.

Ebony frowns, a couple other rats join her, “I do not know, it would only cause trouble,  then again he has caused some trouble himself already. I do not think the one older mouse is much of a threat, the healer on the other paw..could be.”

Patchfur smirks and draws his two daggers, he motions for the other 3 rats to join him as they go surround the mouse, "So..ya giving up or do I get to have some fun?"

Before the rats can advance on Taran and Leon the whiz of javelins can be heard flying through the air and hitting the dirt nearby each of them, the shafts still quivering in the air after impaling. Wherever those came from its nearby and the answer is in view shortly. a group of six heavy round shield, javelin and sword equipped figure com into view, an assortment of ferret, squirrels, and unnaturally tall mice.

Ebony aims an arrow at one of the beasts, but she doesn’t fire it yet as she stays alert to where the sudden wave of beasts may of come from.

Leon blinks but says nothing, he is surprised as well but he still is prepared to fight the rats if he needs to. He glances at the creatures but also makes sure he knows where the rats are as well.

Patchfur looks around and narrows his eyes "Oh like this is supposed to scare me off?" He chuckles" I say attack the other woodies and then we can take any captives, it will be fun"

The shield of the beasts may seem familiar to Leon, a blood red sun emblazoned on each of the steel rimmed shields that cover most of their bodies, much like another mouse he knows. They remain quiet besides one as they advance, shield placed in front of themselves protectively. "Scare you? Hardly, to warn you. the next aren't likely to miss!" Certainly these don't look like normal woodlanders.

Ebony fires off an arrow at one of those shield beasts, aiming for anything not covered by a shield.

Leon bends down to check on Taran, still very worried but not of fighting, he is worried about Taran.

Patchfur smirks "Warn me..fools, I say I attack ya  all  , me and my friends can handle this" He does study the shield and seems curious of it but shrugs, "So..back off woodies so I can take those mice or least one of them, my boss has a slaver who may want mice" The rats get ready to fight.

Taran groans weakly, he isn’t waking anytime soon it looks like

The tops of their head and lower legs aren't covered, a well-placed shot might kill up above and only cripple down below. Otherwise the shield bearers will have time to block the arrow or just walk on through the pain. No more conversation is given as the formation breaks, the beasts breaking out into many directions as their next salvo of wickedly barbed javelins follow the sudden charge. " FOREWARD, UNTO THE RED DAWN!"

 A guttural yell breaks through the woods and Emyuil emerges from cover, ragged cloak and all, wielding his fabled black sword.  He charges into the melee and seeks foes to engage.

Ebony watches as the arrow hits one in the leg and cusses at her bad luck, but it may slow on of them down at least.

Emyuil lowers his head, bull-like, and falls into a guard position, gripping his sword in two paws.  "TUSCANI!" he yells again, the sunlight playing along his obsidian-hued blade.

Taran is, well in a faint so he won’t be much help at all.

The beasts have split up into pairs, leaving one of those rats quite outmatched as Javelins pierce out towards him from the thrusts of  the ferrets, ripping flesh and piercing skin when Patch deserts him. The other pair is fighting with the other rats while the pair with the wounded knee are rapidly advancing to Ebony, one of the tall mice lifting his leg along the way to snap the arrow along the rim of his shield with a harsh yell.

Ebony frowns, she tries to get another arrow loaded and moves backwards, firing this one off only to have it bounce off into a tree, she then gets out her short sword and stands ready. She watches as one of the three rats die.

Patchfur seems only focused on fighting Emyuil as he angles and slices with his blade, one of the rats fighting a squirrel  ends up losing his head so there is now one rat left to help Ebony and Patchfur.

Leon takes the risk and moves Taran slightly and out of harms way, mostly and frowns as he examines him again.

Emyuil parries deftly and flicks his sword in a harsh arc, angling his blade towards Patchfur and growling in the back of his throat, swinging his blade upwards as he withdraws, an upward-arcing slice.

The beasts simply take down the last one without killing him, though one of them takes a nasty slash to the side of the head and causes him to fall unconcious, a mercy perhaps and turn their attention to Patch and Emyuil, advancing towards him... leaving the rat severely outnumbered. The Mice separate and start to move in on Ebony in a pincer movement, if she wants to escape it may be time to turn tail and run.

Ebony frowns and can tell she is outnumbered and unlike some in her group she is not a fool to keep fighting and decides the best course of action is to just flee, she does want to live after all.

Patchfur is a foolish rat , he tries to slice Emyuil and gets himself a large gash on his chest and shoulder blade, this causes him to stumble backwards and bleed heavily, he slowly stands and grips his blade weaker now and looks at the advancing beasts, he digs in his pocket and finds a throwing dagger, normal one and flicks it at one of the closer beasts.

Emyuil bellows, "Stand back, I'll handle this!" He raises his sword in both paws and brings it down in a powerful arc...

Patchfur gets a paw full of dirt and throws it upwards into whoever's face is closer, and goes to make a run for it and trips over a tree root but gets back up, "Later..fools!"

Ebony has watched from a safe distance in one of the trees, she shakes her head and mutters, “Fool"

Leon has been quiet during the fight but been still tending to Taran as well.

The mice are left with the dust of escape and nothing else, at last out of immediate danger the mouse with the arrow in his knee drops to nurse the wound. The rest of the beasts go to their comrades to help get them ready for travel to the closest place of healing, Redwall. "Very well, but we will follow for the most part. Our commander told us of that one." The uninjured move to help Taran and Leon. "Timothy said to send his regards if we found you."

Emyuil roars in frustration as what should've been an easy execution is foiled, and by the time his vision clears, Patchfur is gone, too far to follow.  He nods to Leon, struggling visibly to control his anger at having failed for now, and departs through the woods.

Taran is ,yeah unconcious so he will need carried

Leon lets one of the fighters help him carry Taran, if they offer and goes to also head back to the abbey.

And so he will be carried, simple to remedy when you have strong beasts about.

Ebony disappears into the tree line, she is heading back to her camp and have a meeting with those there over what’s happen.
