Ferravale tavern

Blisa the cat and Ferdinand the ferret.  Derean the sea otter.  Scioto, another cat.  Safana, yet another cat.

The door opens suddenly and sharply, and a very bundled up white kitten and an equally bundled up tall, lean ferret guard enter, hurrying over to the bar and sitting on stools.  Without them saying a word, the barkeep hurries off and gets two steaming cups of tea for the newcomers.

Safana pushes open the door and quickly finds a chair by the door, she growls at the rats sitting at the table and they ran for their lives to the far end of the room, she grumply orders an ale and drinks it down quickly after giving a coin or two for it, she pays attention to no one just the drink that's almost gone now.

Scioto has been having a meeting with some of the guards when he sees rats suddenly rush past him and blinks, he looks over at the doorway and raises an eyebrow, not yet seeing who it is that just sat down.

Derean looks sideways down the bar counter to watch the cat who had just stormed in. However, he simply just returns to his drink, which seems to be the third that the otter has had so far considering the two empty bottles apart from the current bottle.

The kitten and the ferret remove some of their wrappings, revealing that they are Blisa and Ferdinand.  Upon hearing the door open, the white cat whips around, spots the new cat and leaps off her barstool, running over to the other female cat.  "Aunt Safana, is that you?!"

Safana looks up and half smiles, "Hey there."She finishes her drink looking a bit shaken up from something and looks at the kitten .

Scioto gets back to his meeting with the guards for now, he can talk to Safana later.

Derean sighs, setting his third empty bottle to the side. He was certainly getting the alone time he had come here for.

Blisa smiles brightly.  "How are you?  I've missed you."  She goes to hug her aunt as Ferdinand comes over and nods, smiling, politely.

Safana allows the hug, "Yeah yeah...missed you too, just a little jumpy is all, a job errr.." She looks over towards Scioto and back to the kitten and body guard, "Never mind, and not here long passing through"

Scioto stands and exits the tavern, he seems busy today

As the otter sits, not paying attention to anything else, a rather...tipsy stoat wanders by, bumping into the otter. Derean growls, turning in his seat and giving the stoat a rough shove which sends the drunken stoat to the floor.

Blisa jumps as the stoat falls to the floor, and so she decides that sitting by her aunt is probably pretty safe.  She clambers up into the seat by the other cat, frowning.  "But why?  Why can't you stay long?  I wanna spend time with you.  What's your job?  Do you fight alot?"  Ferdinand retrieves the teacups and joins Safana and the kitten at the table, keeping a wary eye on the stoat and the sea otter.  He really doesn't want to be in here for another barfight....once in a lifetime is one too many.

Safana frowns, she is not about to tell the kitten, "Well one job I decided not to take so that's...good, and besides was not the best job" She sighs and gets another ale and drinks it straight down as if something is bothering her.

The stoat struggles to stand as Derean stands from his seat. The otter waits for the stoat to try and stand before placing a light foot on the stoat's chest and pushing him back on the ground.

Blisa thinks for a moment, then whispers, "Are you a mercenary?  I don't mind that.  One of my friends, Darkwatcher, is a mercenary, and he's nice."  Ferdinand is only half listening, watching the sea otter and the stoat duke it out as he sips his tea.  A guard sitting over by the fighting beasts is watching them intently, debating about making them stop.  There's had enough barfights in the area for a while.

Safana groans, she stands as if to leave "Look...maybe or maybe not, a beast did ask me to kill someone and I said no ok...now leave me alone"

Derean finally ends the fight with a swift kick to the stoat's jaw, knocking the stoat out rather quick and walking back to the bar.

Blisa jerks back a little, a hurt look on her face.  Ferdinand turns his full attention to the conversation as the kitten gets angry to cover up the hurt and snaps, "I am five seasons old, Aunt Safana!  I'm old enough to know about these things!  Why are you yelling at me?  I'm your only niece!  I'm just asking!"  The barkeep behind the bar frowns as the white cat's tone and pitch rises, but he doesn't interfere.  Instead, he comes up to the sea otter and asks, "Will you be requirin' anythin' else, sir?"

Derean shakes his head. "I think I'll be fine, thankee."

Safana watches the stoat get kicked in the jaw and manages a chuckle, then looks at Blisa "I am sorry. its...just who she wanted me to kill"

Blisa glowers at the tabletop, then jumps and relents when Ferdinand kicks her under the table.  "Who did she want you to kill?  Don't worry, I can take it."  The ferret bodyguard rolls his eyes, then sighs and goes back to his tea.  The barkeep nods and begins to wipe the bartop, making sure to not wipe any of his customers.

Derean looks to the side, now interested in this conversation.

Safana sighs, "I said no, I would never kill..." She frowns, ok maybe she has changed but not that much, " A black and white cat wanted me to...she wants Scioto dead, may want to keep an eye out for her, her name is Aster" She shakes her head "I don't...kill beasts and not my own brother for sure"

Blisa shudders, then jumps up and hugs her aunt as tightly as she can.  "I'm glad you don't.  Aster already threatened to kill Oakenpaw.  She scares me..." This last bit is said in a whisper.  Ferdinand smooths down his tail, which has fluffed out a little.  The barkeep, who was also listening, shakes his head and says as he nears the sea otter, "I'll never understand why anybeast'd want to kill the father of that sweet kitten over there."

Derean shrugs. "Me either, though I'm not sure wot all I can do about it."

Safana smiles a little "I would stop anyone from killing Scioto, not to worry." She frowns some as yeah  Aster seemed to hate the hare too, she frowns more as if in thought of something she was asked.

Blisa nods, smiling in relief.  "I'm not worried about that.  Do you think Aster is going to come here and try to hurt Daddy or Oakenpaw?"  Ferdinand looks like he's not listening, but he really is.  The barkeep has finished wiping the bartop, and is now slowly wiping glasses and tankards.  "Are ye a warrior?  Maybe they'll send out a group of warriors to hunt down this Aster creature, and you can join them."

Safana shrugs "I dont know Blisa, I am unsure" She looks at the barkeep, "I am a warrior but not sure I will be staying here long"

The barkeep nods, then grumbles and stomps off as somebeast in the kitchen hollers for his help.  Desperation can be heard in the creature's voice.  Blisa nods and looks up into her aunt's face.  "Why can't you stay longer?  We could have fun.  I know allot of the storekeepers."

Safana looks at the kitten "I don't know much on fun anymore, sorry"

And I'm sure we can safely assume that Blisa is now giving her a full and detailed description that they can do to have fun.
