Velm decided to have a runner fetch a couple of hares, course they were surprised when they saw Velm with Elbio, a quick "I will explain soon"Was all he said and that he felt it was just better to be at the mountain, well Elbio to be anyways as the camp had other matters to deal with, they didn't need to worry about the Lt. on top of it."Easy just lay him down...yes yes I can explain later but only with some"   

Elbio tenses up a little and frowned, a small smirk that showed he was starting to get some strength back."Food ...is better 'ere anyways."He sighs"And..beds are softer."   
   
Velm glares slightly, then a soft chuckle"Be lucky you can complain, and lucky I have to be at the camp..but I do have orders that if you try and do too much, too soon...they can send a runner or maybe that gull to "He grins "Tell on ya."He straightens up, "So behave"He smiles and heads off.   
   
Elbio sticks out his tongue and lays back to relax, At least it was a lot warmer, more comfortable here, and likely less annoying visitors....though he did expect the Badger Lord to make an appearance.   
   
Velm had not planned on coming to the mountain, well ok he did but only cause of the recent issue that had come up. This on top of other things he knew was mentioned from who ever this..mercenary group was. But this was not about that, this was something else as he walked the halls asking for just one of two beasts, either Ciocan or Quinten.No one seemed to want to distribute the Badger Lord he was busy, busy with what?, well the private didn't know and jus muttered Quinten was in the library so with a sigh Velm went there.   
   
Quinten is sat at his desk, it's the desk he has had ever since he became librarian, tucked in a small office with its own windows looking down on the ocean. He could have moved to a larger office in the officer's quarters but he likes the view from here. The door is open however indicating he can be disturbed as he reads through papers.   
   
Velm takes a deep breath and walks into the room. He clears his throat and waits for a response. The Lt. is the main healer but still, he had been at the camp and didn't send a message he would be coming back to the mountain for a report.   
   
Quinten looks up from the report he is reading and folds it away into a filing box on his desk, "Lieutenant Velm, what brings you home today?"   
   
Velm frowns, a salute is given and he speaks "Thar has been...an issue that has come up, I am sorry I just now come to you on this and the only ones at camp that know of this recent issue is me, Terrence, Greg. Also, Prv Cole and Prv Zywie know but have been ordered to keep it to themselves."He is not sure how to proceed so he just flat out says it"Lt. Elbio, as you know had headed back towards Mossflower with Corpial Teddy....."A pause and " A sea otter came into the camp a day after the Lt. and Corpial left, the otter and his brother found the Lt and Corporal about half a day up shore of Halyard, this was about a week and a half ago. I am sorry sur, should have brought this news sooner but I wanted to wait till Lt. Elbio was, stable enough to move to the Mt., he is in the infirmary here at the mountain now sur.."   
   
Quinten frowns as he hears that Elbio is back, "He should be halfway back to the Abbey by now... what happened to Elbio and Teddy? Where they attacked by someone?"   
   
Velm ears go flat as he gives a nod"Yes."He looks towards the door and goes over to close it. This was for Quinten's ears only as he goes back to the desk."We...didn't know whom till Elbio woke up, he was lucky to even be alive.."He closes his eyes "Saddy...Teddy is, is dead sur." He knows that news won't be taken good. Or the shock of who did it. He seems to be at a loss to get words out, simple words.."Z.."He tries again."Zolomon...sur. Lt. Elbio also sai Zolomon admitted to..being the one whom slain the 4 rats and..Prv Slaw a few days before that."He frowned "We..though a group of rats and..their leader was the ones, they had said they didn't..we thought they were just lying as vermin do at times, well..they were not lying, least about that attack anyways, "A frown again" Thar is still some mystery and confusion with troubles in Halyard but the attacks on our hares...and the 4 rats "He figures the rats were in the wrong place at the wrong time." Was not this..group, the attacks on the 4 rats, Slaw, Teddy and Elbio was, Zolomon's doing." He straightens up "We have yet to..sent anyone to look for Zolomon since we been busy with Halyard...I may send the seagull to maybe scan the area, I have a feeling he isn't too far..I could be wrong of course. Any other details I suggest speaking to Lt. Elbio about   
   
Quinten's ears wilt at the news, he then looks for a moment very angry and he drums his claws on the table. He then pulls open a drawer and hands a letter to Velm, "I will report this to his lordship, but considering what Zolomon did in Mossflower," he nods at the letter, "This is what Elbio delivered to his Lordship... I very much suspect his Lordship is going to order Zolomon hunted down and killed..."   
       
    Quinten looks serious, "We will not stand for a murderer wandering our shores. It's rare enough to have to exile a hare from the mountain. But to then be banished from Mossflower, by the Abbot of Redwall no-less and now he has returned to the shore and murdered several beasts? Rats or not... he must be stopped"   
       
The general's frown deepens, "I will have to take this to his lordship but I very much would not be surprised if he orders a patrol out to stop Zolomon permanently"   

Velm had only heard a brief explanation from Elbio on just what happened in Mossflower. He does open the letter to read it. A frown, a look of shock as he looks back to Quinten, then the letter. " Errpeal...he was the seer that was going to stay at the base in Halyard."He sighs "Course the base still needs to be fixed up and we have not been able to yet, not fully anyway."He reads the letter again and lays it down."I..agree sur, Zolomon is a danger, and as I told Terrence. We are sadly dealing with a skilled Archer, a skilled runner not to mention skills he got from being in the patrol. He is most likely still recovering from that fight with the Lt. and Corporal, and according to the Lt., Zolomon has in his, he has Prv Slaw's saber."   
   
Quinten closes his eyes and sighs, "His Lordship is going to go spare... I would not be surprised if he takes a patrol personally to hunt Zolomon down himself. Using the skills the long patrol taught him to protect life to kill, no murder others.... he must be stopped." he then frowns, "Not to mention whatever is going on in Halyard, I am half tempted to order you all to take up residence in our fort in Halyard... but I will talk to his Lordship about that too"   
   
Velm nods "I am..unsure.It is odd the couple we have managed to speak to seemed, oddly afraid of us and refused to talk to us. It may be best to..I don't know sur."He sighs."Maybe not be on the beach, but hopefully, something can be found some clues ."He shakes his head" Besides also, some of our better fighters are at the camp, they would be better suited to help find..Zolomon.Yes still deal with this..wot ever in Halyard as well but maybe not with such a large group."He frowns "I should go back to the camp unless I am needed here sur?" He trusts the healers at the mountain, they have a couple, but the Lt is basically the main healer, the most skilled one at the mountain right now.   
   
Quinten drums his fingers on the table, "Very well, return to the camp, tell Terrence I want to see him soon as does his Lordship, ASAP in fact... though send me a couple of our better fights back as soon as you get back. I will tell his Lordship about Zolomon and it'd do to have some runners on hand who can keep up with him, he's going to storm out of here and start hunting, I just know it."   
   
Velm frowns, he nods but a thought "I am sorry if this sounds...out of hand, I am in no way not trusting his Lordship fighting skills, but..even the most skilled fighter can't fight an archer if they are...hidden."He does sound concerned "I don't know if..Zolomon would dare to...try and....."He looks at Quinten"Would he?"   
   
Quinten says, "I don't know, that's why I want a couple of our best back from camp please, so I can have them follow his Lordship... I will try to convince him not to go but... it is better to be prepared just in case."   
   
Velm nods"Alright sur. I will get the message back to camp ASAP. "He salutes and adds "You can speak with Lt. Elbio here soon too sur, I have told the two healers that you or his Lordship can be in the infirm, no one else besides maybe Me of course."With that he goes to open the door to exit the room, a glance back to Quinten in case there are any other messages to pass on to anyone.   
   
Quinten stands up and looks out of the window and frowns, "I don't like this... his Lordship has been muttering about signs and portents. Velm...tell Terrence to be on alert please"   
   
Velm frowns "Signs of wot?" He fears it's not of just Zolomon, but he decides not to question visions and such the badger lord has or sees in those strange symbols only the badger lord can see, he then quietly heads out "I am worried too sur.....I will give your message to Terrence now"He closes the door as it looks like the General wants time to think now in quiet. A deep breath and he is off back to camp, a sentry looks at him and asks "Your heading back ta camp already.....ummm ok"Yep Velm was silent, he spoke to no one and just headed straight back to camp, he will go straight to Terrence and deliver that message from Quinten and then.....well then he supposes he just focuses on his own duties at camp till further orders are given.

LOG:

Velm was on his way back from the mountain, he had helped a Private back that had broken their footpaw and so also went ahead and brought some supplies for the infirm that was being delivered. Now on the way to camp,a tall hare with him, a corporal by the looks of it.   

Cole was resting before any activities started.He had behaved rather well in the camp, so far.When he saw Velm he gave a short salute and went back to relaxing.
   
Elbio had decided to stay a few days and help where needed.He also wanted to spend a little time with his daughter and was free to go back and forth between camp and the mountain when he wanted to.He planned to head back to the abbey in about 4-5 days.   

Velm shook his head as he looked around and made his way over to cole" Private....where is that brother of yours? Is he 'ere? He is to report back to the mountain and as of last night he had not."
   
Cole looked up and frowned."i...Slaw isnt at the mountain?" He sounded a little worried as he did sit up at attention."W..where is he?" He knew his brother, yes they got into trouble, like a lot, but they never went on to get into trouble all alone."I did see him..briefly yesterday afternoon he was with Private Renee...they were gonna go to Halyard and..."He frowns,come to think of it he seen Renee but not his brother."Ge isn't 'ere sur"   

Elbio attention turns to the group and he walks over"Private Slaw is missing? And I can confirm not seeing him last night, or on the way here."   

Velm rubs his chin, "Not good" He nods to the hare that came with him,"Go back and report Prv. Slaw missing." The corporal, who is also a runner, dashes off as the Lt. faces the others"This is not good at all,for sure if it happen sometime last night."   

Cole was now more worried "You think he is in trouble sur?"He stands up and dusts off "I..I wanna help look fer me brother, please..can I go look for him..wot...wot if he is hurt or something or lost , maybe lost at sea that would not be good or maybe the sea monster thing ate him...not that be worse and if that is so I hope the sea monster gets a rather bad tummy ache like so so so so bad" He rambles on about possible things that could or could not happen.   

Elbio groans, he has not missed the twins and it was worse when they were together.He clears his throat as he speaks"Private Cole, be silent thats an order...you will sit and ...and wait till this is figured out,is that understood?" He might not be in charge of this mission but he was still a Lt.   

Velm ears go flat as the private seems to talk non stop , "Breath Private...." This had to stop first so one could think clearly on what to do next.   

Cole closes his mouth and whimpers.He sits down slowly and nods in reply.He can be quiet, or least he thinks he can be quiet, another small whimper...he could and he was ordered to after all.   

Elbio sighs in relif"Thank you, now we need to let the others know we have a hare missing."   

Velm nods"Right, I will let Terrence and Gregorian know.We could keep an eye out for Private Slaw while we tend to other things we have planned today."   

Cole sighs as he just sits and tries not to worry,but if his brother went on some adventure without him, he is so gonna complain, then again this was unlike his brother and he did have a sort of odd feeling something wasn't right...twins seem to know when the other is in some sort of trouble of some sort.   

Elbio sits down."I am gonna help out a short while, not heading back to the abbey for 4-5 days,may as well help out while I am here."
   
Velm nods, "Right" What else could make the day worse,he hoped nothing as he stepped out to find the other officers and update them.

Zolomon- Crazy hare?

LOG:

Zolomon walked along the River Moss, the northern shore of it anyways, and muttered to himself."Bunch of jerks, just stare at me....don't help me at all...." He cut into a path heading away from the river threw some line of willows and oaks, a few pine trees here and there were seen in the distance.

The forest path was a bit creepy for most, vines grew around the trees,a fallen willow tree was covred in vines and moss, and some sort of pine tree looked like in was growing out of a half dead oak tree. Further along the path vines hanged down, and a couple vines looked almoast rope like.

Zolomon snorted as he moved along the path, he looked around for what seemed to be a good place to camp.He choose a moss covred pile of stones to sit by and looked in the pack, a snort "3 days of food? More like 1 and a half, good thing I can fish."He also managed to find some berries,and some fallen apples from a lone apple tree.

The hare would soon learn, he was not alone in these woods. Movement seemed and was among the tree branches and an odd sound like a bird that had a, ore throat?Ok it was not the best bird sound but another sort of caw tweet? was heard.

Zolomon rubbed his sore cheek, the M clearly on his cheek,it was sore and red and slightly swolen now. He luckly found some aloe and dock leaves to sooth it and comfrey,he knew basic first aid.A paw went to his longbow, oh yeah no string, or arrows but that hadn't stoped him before if a fight was ever needed.

A voice is heard "Hee hee...he is so so very alone he is ya ya."

"Hee heeee the bunny is silly gonna die, yeah die reals gooda is he, hee hee"

Zolomon is up on his footpaws quickly and scans the area"Show yourself chaps, I not be in de mood tonight"

"Hee iss not in the mood, heee hee"

"Not in the mooooooddddd, heeehhehe"

More voices and soon the hare sees a group of like 50 small rats,or they seem like rats.All wearing what looks like weeds,bones and old armor.Painted fur of green,yellow and bright red on thier face and ears,thier long tails had a sort of feather on the end.

Zolomon narrowed his eyes,"Oh lovely, the Painted Ones..."He glared "A bunch of vermin scums looking ta wanta die tonight."He angles his longbow and looks ready to use it as some sort of staff,plus his hind legs are powerfull.

A couple of the rats look at each other"Wesa want to die?" They chuckle."No silly long...."It tilts his head.."Ear one!....yousa gonna die!"

And they attack him!!

Zolomon is ready and swings his long bow at them, he kicks a couple away from him into any nearby tree. He will even punch them in the fce.

The longbow manages to take out a couple unlucky rats, another is kicked in the chest and dies.Others back up a little and seem unsure then suddenly start to cackle as ropes drop around the hare to quickly go to loop around his arms, maybe one on that lone ear of his.

Zolomon cusses loudly and kicks, screams, he even bits one of the rats on the arm. The longbow has a sharp end and he uses it to stab a couple of the annoying rats  as ropes get his arms, his ear as he screams in pain .He uses his powerful legs to kick at the rats to hopefully send them flying!

The rats seem to serious outnumber the hare.A couple rats fly threw the air and slam into trees! the longbow ends the life of one of the rats and suddenly a greater effort to pull the hare into the tree tops and pull the longbow out of his paws.

Zolomon is not going without a fight and nger now rages in him as he struggles,kicks,spits and cusses loudly,the longbow is lost from his tied paw"You are going to pay...PAY YA slimes. ya......"The hare knows a lot of cusswords....hmmm that's an intresting one.

Finallly the rats seem to get him tied nicely and more ropes and thick vines added. A taller rat in some sort of feathered hat, seems to be the leader, comes forewards "I is Zigag...amum leader! You iss a our captive ha ha ha"

Zolomon glares "And your ugly ya pest....little soon ta die is wot ya are."

Zigzg just laughs,he looks at the longbow and grins "Niceumm...trouphy yesum isss."He hits the hae in the snout with the longbow ."Ha ha ha...youe end likeum them soon yes."He pionts to ...skeletons, lots of them and some very old, how nice.

Zolomon just chuckles and smirks "Right, keep telling ya self that. Ya messing with de wrong hare...."

Zigzag just grins"Ha ha ha...you isum one...tied, nota me, hee hee." He then leaves the hare alone.

"You only making it worse you know?" Nearby was a thin hedgehog with a lot of quills missing"Caught me a couple weeks ago."

Zolomon glares at the hedgehog, "They have messed with the wrong.....beast"His eyes seem to have a fire in them, its sort of..scary."They...willl....pay."

The hedgehog frowns and wishes he could just back away from the hare,"I..I.if you day so..s...sir."

Zolomon smirks "I do say so...."He grins and seems to oddly relax,"I need a nap, the morning gonna....."He closes his eyes"Fun..."

Velm- Lt. and Head Healer in the infirm of Salamanstron

Donica- Prv. and healer of LP

LOG:

Velm was up late, doing paperwork.He alwasys was doing paperwork lately,and not just his own either.He also tended to most things in the infirmary,and helped out with a drill some privates had on the beach. He was tired and it seriously showed.

Donica made her way into the infirm and stoped when she seen the Lt., a soft sigh and she walks past him to put away a small box of collected herbs to dry out later.

Velm watches Donica and then goes to take the 3 reports he has done to the Badger Lord, he shakes his head and everything sort of blurs.A tired sort of stumble.

Donica frowns and is quickly at his side"Velm....you need to lay down,come on"She will led him to a bed and help him into it, she will take the reports from his paws if she is allowed.

Velm allows the help and tilts his head"D..donica?" He lays down and  just tries to relax before speaking"His...Lordship will be needin' those...reports."

Donica simply nods and  lays them on a table,"I can take them, you need to rest your always up and about or staying up late to do reports. Rest is important to think clearly and ne fully alert."

Velm dores listen as she speaks, he seems surprised at the help "I...I thought ya hated me Private?"

Donica manages a small smile and ajusts his pillow "I don't hate you Velm, I was..." She sits down and takes his paw"Very upset with you for just off and leaveing like that. You should of just stayed with friends who care about you"

Velm frowns "Care about me? Who does?"

Donica bends down to kiss his forehead and smiles a litle better"I care....and you have friends ya know. His Lordship is glad your back as well velm. Now please...get some rest?"

Velm goes to grab her paw, if he can, before she walks off."Donica.....I..."He is so tired" I..."

"Need a nap, yes ya do. Will I be back...yes I will" Donica replies.She gets the reports and starts for the door, turns around and"Your...forgiven...we can later"A small smile and she is gone from the room.

Velm smiles, first time since that battle on the shores, he then lets sleep overtake him.
