A New Way to MUCK Around

Well, the MUCK is gone. No more chat room, no more remembering who knows-how-many commands, no more RPing...

But wait.

What if there was a way to keep the MUCK going? No, we can't bring back the server; it's gone for good. But perhaps we could do forum RPs, like the official Dibbuns Against Bedtime site ( https://dibbuns.proboards.com/ ). We already have a forum, it could work.

Forum RPing is good because it's not a huge time sink like a chat room is. If you can only come on once a day to type up your post and then you have to step away until tomorrow, it works just fine. Additionally, people from across the globe can play together in the same RP while also not staying up until 3 in the morning.

If we implement this, I propose we keep the same rules as the RWMUCK already had and implement any from the DAB site that are necessary. DAB has always been a forum RP site, so they may have rules that we wouldn't think of at first.

I know many of us are sad to say goodbye. But this gives us an opportunity to use something we already possess (our own forum) and continue our character's adventures.

What say you?

I'd be happy to join in with forum rp. We probably wouldn't really need to do much, could maybe repurpose the Groups section to use it as locations?

I was thinking we could do it in the Logs section and just desc the locations in each log, like DAB does. That would save Aeyisn any trouble having to figure stuff like that out.

EDIT: Or we could have a new group of subjects made. Instead of repurposing something that already exists and that we use for actual things. *shrugs*

I'd be open to taking part! Forum RP would also be much easier to fit in a schedule which what kept me from the MUCK the past year rip

Okay, wonderful!

I thought it'd be funny to do a DAB RP featuring Julia, prior to her and Felicity leaving Salamandastron. Just a fun, silly little thing to cheer us up while we figure out what to do with our characters. I wrapped mine up pretty nicely when I left in 2022, so I'm now scrambling to try to figure out what to do to have chars to RP with, heh.

And if anyone is wondering what the rules should be, I think we should still be following the regular MUCK rules, as well as the forum rules. I think it might also be helpful to take a gander at the rules from the official Dibbuns Against Bedtime website, although of course how we RP will look a bit different from how they do it.
