Who:
Zolomon- Archer and now Former LP Hare
Ciocan-Badger Lord
Quinten-Recorder and General of The LP
LOG:
It's been a few days since Zolomon was returned home to the mountain. So far he has been treated with dignity and allowed to remain in a well not quite a cell but a very plain room. Now, however, the Sergeant at arms has escorted Zolomon up to a meeting room high in the mountain.
Quinten is standing next to Ciocan talking quietly as Zolomon is marched in and pointed toward a bench to sit on and wait until they are ready for him.
Zolomon grumbled with the hare at first and then let himself be lead to the meeting room. He slowly sat down on the bench that he was asked to sit on and waits.
Ciocan finishes talking quietly with the General and glances toward Zolomon then turns and walks out of the room. Leaving Zolomon alone with the General, a couple of lower-ranked aides, and the guards.
The general considers Zolomon for a moment then shakes his head and turns back to one of his aides, talking quietly to them. Seems they cannot continue until his Lordship returns.
Zolomon watches as Ciocan walks off and looks towards Quinten slightly confused. He starts to speak but decides it's best not to speak right now. He crosses his arms over his chest and just takes a deep breath, it's likely very wise for him to just stay quiet right now or he likely just get himself into more trouble than he is in already.
Ciocan returns after about fifteen minutes, he is dressed in a simple bronze tunic and moves to stand at the podium. He nods to Quinten and the hare lifts his voice, "Will the prisoner Zolomon please step forward," He indicates a spot before the podium where the badger lord is waiting.
Zolomon stands and goes to where he is told, he does mutter slightly at the word prisoner and looks at the floor a few moments before finally looking up at the Badger Lord. He straightens up a little and waits to see what is said. He has mostly behaved since he been back..except for when he got annoyed at Lt. Velm and ended up knocking the Lt. out when the Lt. started to lecture him.
Ciocan stands at the podium in silence for a moment then speaks quietly, his voice heavy and full of sadness and disappointment.
"It is a sad duty I do today, I had the General check the records, this has been done only a number of times in the history of the Long Patrol. But Zolomon you leave me little choice, you are accused of assault of a superior officer, deserting, no fleeing your post and the scene of your crime, and then attempting to hide from what you had done behind the good graces and kindness of the Abbot and beasts of Redwall Abbey." He looks down at the hare, "How do you plead to these charges?"
Zolomon takes a moment to speak, wisely letting some anger trying to flare up settle down first."Didn't ...hide" Ok he also didn't tell the abbey why he was there, they found out a little later."As for...."Yes, it shows he hates Varus" The major....if he had gotten out of my way...and yes I did injure him, I did..leave the mountain and didn't always listen to others in...in Halyard, who needs Halyard thar are vermin thar ya know"
"No," Ciocan says, "The beasts living in Halyard are peaceful, friendly, they have proven themselves over the years that they are peaceful creatures who simply wish to live in peace."
Ciocan stares down at Zolomon, "Regardless of anything else... Zolomon, as of this day, you are stripped of all rank and all honors. You are stripped of your place in the Long Patrol and you are exiled from the Mountain home of Salamandastron, never again shall you walk her halls."
He stares at the hare, "Your actions I am afraid warrant no less, some would have me exile you from the shore itself. But I do not believe that is warranted, I ask you to live your life and remember the lessons you have learned here."
Zolomon listens as his sentence is brought down "Exiled?" He frowns slightly and looks down again as an urge to argue comes over him. He snorts and looks back at the badger." Fine..when does this start? and thar ARE some in Halyard who hate us, maybe most don't ...."He forces himself to stop and just takes a calming breath.Thar is some anger but also bits of sadness showing as well.
Ciocan shakes his head and motions, the General walks forward and removes Zolomon's rank insignia and steps back, "Imediately," The Badger Lord says, "As of today you are no longer a member of the Long Patrol nor are you welcome within the Mountain. Your personal effects have been gathered, but no weapon or uniform can you take."
Zolomon blinks, he does speak though "The Longbow is mine, it belonged to my grandfather." He is fine with the dirk being taken,he got the dirk at the mountain but the longbow he will have a serious problem with if they say he can't take it.
Ciocan says, "You can take your bow," The Badger Lord says, "But no arrows, I will not arm you from supplies meant for the Long Patrol." He nods to the guards, "Please escort Zolomon to collect his belongings then out of the mountain."
Zolomon glares at the two guards when they go to take him out, "I can walk myself no need to lead me out." He won't fight them he just doesn't want them too close to him. He can manage without the arrows for now,he is a fast runner still after all and he knows how to make arrows,he just needs to find what he needs to do so.
The General makes a gesture and the guards turn to lead you out, seems you won't just be left alone.
Quinten then remains with the Badger Lord to talk to him then follows to catch up with you, "I have arranged for some supplies, food, a water-skin, I am sorry it came to this Zolomon but his Lordship has no choice."
Zolomon snorts, "Whatever....."The mention of some supplies at least is good.He takes a deep breath and nods "Thanks for..the supplies." He will change into his normal clothing leaving the uniform,or well stripped of rank uniform, on the cot. And no he does NOT neatly fold it either..He gets his longbow and the few personal items he has and allows himself to be lead onto the shore.
Quinten departs once he has handed over the supplies and the guards escort Zolomon down and out, leaving him on the beach outside the mountain and walk back inside. It is done... he has been exiled from the mountain.
Zolomon looks back at the mountain one last time,he stands there a long moment before finally bolting off up shore a good way before he stops and sits down. It was a good chance to think and let it sink in what just happen as he snorts "Who needs them..."But a frown forms as he sighs, sits awhile and then stands to walk towards the river, he might wander back to Halyard but not right now, right now he just wants to find somewhere to camp a few hours.
