**Just showing GUOSIM are still alive and well since a couple of us were online!***

LOG:

he camp of The GUOSIM was covered, buried in snow, but then a lot of places were. After 3 weeks or so the shrews ventured out after clearing some snow away with a torch! And some shovels also helped get some snow cleared but only a small area by the main building. The shrew chieftain studied this and shrugged"What be expecting in de being wintertime, snow!"

Leigh ventured out and glanced around "I wonder how our friends are doing, do you think they are alright Log-a-log?"

Log-a-log just nodded, then directed a shrew to help get the small path to the riverbank"I am sure they are being fine Leigh, nothing we can be doing to check" Another shrew carefully moved along the path."This is slow going and how we supposed ta know when we get ta de river"

"Not like de river is THAT FAR YAMORON"

"ytEAH....?"

Of course, arguing would happen as the chieftain sighs and shakes his head.

Leigh places her paws on her hip "Enough, the longer this takes the longer we have ta do serious water rations and I for one can't drink ale."Nope, she was with child.

Log-a-log chuckles" That is being true...."He then smirks "Someone hand me torch from earlier yes?"

The two shrews shrugged and handed it over."For light? Is light enough Log-a-log...fer most part"

Leigh steps back a little, her child was not due to be born till Late Spring" I will stay back here, Oswald will be upset if I stay out too long or if I get hurt by one of you morons with the torch."

Log-a-log gets the torch and grins. He uses the fire to clear a path to the river bank and chuckles"Now that be being faster than shovels, ha ha!" He taps the ice and carefully moves, taps again, and nods "Thinner here yes....we can make hole and get water...then boil water, then cool water to drink..also ice fishing!"

The two shrews just watched, ok the chief seemed to like fire a bit too much right now.

Leigh watched just to make sure no one got burnt "This may take a little while"

Log-a-log smiled as he nodded "Yes but being worth it. We lower small bucket into hole...bring up water. fill couple barrels or least one tonight, maybe one tomorrow."

The shrews would work on this plan the next 4 hours and manage to catch 2 fish, not that they were short on food but it did help that ice fishing could work."

Leigh smiled"We could make fish stew...use up some onions and peppers."

The GUOSIM now have a barrel and a half more water and a little more fish. They would manage to get more fish from the ice fishing the next couple of days as well as another couple of barrels of water. Of course, the food supply was very good, but a little more was good too!
