This is neat. A history of the Long Patrol be cool to see on a group post. I know Camp Willow had history on its group page ..somewhere.

Thanks all for contributing - I've been digging through the old logs on the wiki but I've been kinda lost as I really don't know much of the context or even a coherent timeline of events as I kept missing quite a few older logs as I wasn't around for the RPs, so thank you Willow and Oz for providing that (and blisa too)! I should clarify that the main time period I'm interested in is everything pre-2012 (and to a lesser extent everything pre-2018 when I finally got more active in the LP - I've known pretty much everything that's happened since the Ormaz tp))
Also, Willow, there's more than 15 years worth of LP logs that I can find on the wiki so don't sweat the quickly made list because it's more than I could have hoped for

Currently, I'm trying to organize the lists and add those few who are missing + all IC character fates, particularly if there is evidence of characters who died in RP or mentioned as dead in RP; ie, character fates that were confirmed by their players. If anyone has info on that please feel free to share!
Now, unfortunately if characters simply just disappeared because their players left/went inactive there's nothing we can really do or say about that beyond just listing the characters' names, so its a bit of a dilemma. Now, an idea did occur to me that could work, though I'm hesitant about it - it's a slightly grey-area solution in terms of I think power-playing rules (but I'm not quite sure), and that would be to list characters who disappeared without any explanation as "Fate Unknown" or "Missing in Action" or just "Missing" and nothing else, though a simpler solution is just not to say anything. So Idk

This also is a good time to make a request of anyone who still lurks on the forums who has ever played a currently inactive LP hare character: would it be possible to give like a sentence about what happened to them or even just whether they're alive or not, please?
It doesn't really matter much but for the sake of IC records it would be nice (though that goes for all of this tbh XD)

pre-2012? can't help you there **gives older players the "you're our only hope" look**

i say just say "fate unknown" for those for whom we, well, don't have an ic fate for. seems the best option, and that's not really too much into the power-playing, i think, especially if we try to just icly and oocly gloss over those certain chars. you could always ask otter what he thinks

Logs don't work but the member page does and divisions does so gives ideas of who was in and a basic idea of past events on the TP part and ..this is 2003

Yeah, thanks oz! I've actually been doing kinda the same digging and found the log lists - though I missed the LP main page - I ported one log over to the wiki and I'm gonna try and do the rest of the old logs from that site at some point

I used to log Long Patrol logs as Quinten almost daily back in the early days
I did just post a story I wrote the 6 Season patrol it is in Fan Fiction of Quinten's early days

Adrian/Varus chiming in.

I'm ALMOST certain Sebastian was Lord for longer than 9 seasons.
He was the resident Badger when Adrian promoted from Recruit to Private.
Sebastian led the Patrol to Redwall's defense when Marek instigated his almost successful takeover of the Abbey and Mossflower. I believe that JUST predated when I created Adrian, so ICly Adrian would have still been a recruit at that time, and stayed home at the mountain.
These events happened 2016 or 2017, I THINK. (More like 2014. It's the Marek's Revenge TP.)
I used to have access to logs from that time, but I'd have to do some digging to check.
For more context, this was the last major Redwall Abbey TP to take place before I caused Abbot Lorimis to kick the bucket of old age. (It's a long story.)

So, over the past week I have updated all the pages listed on the Long Patrol's wiki page. Everything should be updated beyond some minor mistakes and typos on my part which I'll fix up as I see them!

I have not touched the roles and policies page however!

To add on to the above, I created two new pages!
One is an import of my equipment guide I wrote up (with some minor edits)
The other is a full list of every NPC that I know of at the suggestion of Zolomon! Both can be found on the LP's wiki page

Updated Elbio to Lt today + added Rhownen (a new private) to the pages earlier this week.

So, at Zolomon's request I removed him from all IC LP listings to reflect his recent IC banishment and moved his info to the former members archive; I added temporary entries on the LP Members List for both Quinten and Adrian until they send me their stuff for the page

I also wrote up a brief IC LP recruit training guide/overview a few weeks ago (heavily inspired by the historical Roman Army regiments)
