History Learned-Defender's log

Zolomon and Leafeyes with the Defenders learn some history of Krisha and Ferro while in the Defender's Training grounds just off the Ferravale Path near the Dirt Road.....

Zolomon was doing well with practicing his archer  skills and grined ”Beat that if ya can” He says to the hedgehog beside him.

Edson shrugs “I much prefer de ax me self lad, not so much de arrow and bow choice, each his own skills I say, each his own”

Xander walked into the training area beside him he led a cloaked figure as he looked around, “This is my group the Mossflower Defenders”

Another beast walks into the area and glances around, he makes his way to the badger and the cloaked beast “Interesting, who built this?”

The cloaked beast is none other than Krisha and goes to hug the monitor, as her hood falls off…it’s very clear she is a badger and one that seems happy to see the monitor.

Leafeyes blinks as she stays on Xander’s shoulder “Why is she..hugging him sir?”

Minsc turns and just quietly watches but also looks to his leader for a reply.

Zolomon just waves and shrugs, he seen both the badger maid and monitor a few days ago, but yeah odd behavior “Hey Xandy…meeting today or discussions?”

Edson leans on his battle axe and just waits, the monitor…so far..doesn’t seem a threat.

Xander looks around “Well…it would seem she is his adopted daughter and…well maybe it’s best Ferro explains and by the way Ferro is the new Blacksmith of Ferravale and also is gonna leand his Blacksmithing skills to the Mossflower Defenders to repair weapons and armor, maybe make some and make some things we need to further build our base that I would love to see built by winter season”

Ferro crosses his arms and sits down on a tree stump after hugging Krisha…”Explainzzzzz…why?” He rolls his  eyes “Fine…izzz long zzztory”

Leafeyes smiles “Long stories are always interesting and full of details and helps one learn of others, please do tell your story as we all have our own story to tell “

Minsc looks at the monitor curious but also alert, seems he is not so sure on trusting it just yet.

Zolomon nods “Ya by winter be totally neat and we have a lot of help if remember correctly and some of it is already built”

Edson nods “Yes and I am willing ta help. I know a beast who is good with building skills and strong too…couple beasts achally..more precise me two older brothers in the area fer a couple weeks I could go get them and bring them here.” But maybe after the lizard’s tale.

Xander smiles “Sounds good Edson….and ok Ferro go ahead.” He smiles at Krisha his attention on her briefly and then nods for Ferro to go on if he would like and motions for others to sit down and listen.

Krisha smiles shyly at the other badger but for now stays seated beside Ferro , she gives off the feeling totally safe around her vibe.

Leafeyes waits for the tale to begin.

Ferro starts “I zzhall zzztart at a beginning…..I was in my tribe, never got along with them and so planned to leave thezzzzz…..they had two beasts who escaped...zzzzo used it as distraction to leave. The male beast was killed, the female escaped…she ran into me but I wazzzzz not going to zzzzlay her, zzzhe pleaded fer helpzzzz…zzzhe was about to give birth…I helped not zzzzo ssure why. A baby girl….but the mother made me promizzze to get her away, get child away keep her zzzafe and then the mother died and I took the child away..thought of leaving the wee one zzzomewhere and never did, raised her as my own child…7 seasons later…my tribe found uzzzz…took her a half zeason…I found her…saved her and fled again…an ambush but my tribe…former tribe…was killed, some by me…my daughter killed one about to end my life force…..then came the hedgehog…all went black and I woke in his home…zzomehow he decided to help me and my adopted daughter…healing and then heading north…managing to get some fur from a couple zzztoats I killed to be ready for winter…zzztoats who wanted us dead….then came spring…and now almost zzzummmer….me and..Krisha…a badger adopted by a monitor who could care less if zzzhe is badger, zzzhe zzztill his daughter whom he cares much of. But ever since…tribe attack Krisha does not zzzpeak…healer says nothing..wound wise or injury prevents it…izzzz not zzzzure why not speak, but has not over two zzzeasons now”

Minsc listens and nods “A good deed you kept a promise and it’s always well to stay honorable and keep promises, it shows you are a beast to trust.”

Edson smiles “Ya a good beast yes and to care fer a dibbun..that’s a most worthy cause and a hard one, and after your hardships a couple times and yet you stayed with it.”

Krisha  listens as Ferro tells the tale of her life, she glances at Xander a few times, it’s not like she has not heard the story before, heck she lived it. But it’s also clear its….well been a long time, if ever , she been around another of her own kind.

Leafeyes claps best a frog can “A good story full of love and hate, action and no action, of brave times and sad times, of happy times and of lost and gain”

Xander listens closely to the monitor’s tale, frowning a few times and letting a tear fall another time. He doesn’t notice Krisha watching him till after the story is over and offers her a warm smile.

Zolomon blinks “Whoa…that’s pretty neat…not the part of blood thirsty tribe lizards that would of freaked me out….ummm they are all gone right? Monitors are usually, no offense…scary and all with teeth and claws but hey you’re a…friend, umm right?”

Ferro grins, not the best thing to do most likely “I am a friend to those who are a friend to me, I have few friends. I am also not like most monitors…another reason I  left my tribe and was later almost slayed.” He looks around, about to drop shocking news “ I don’t eat meat I am a vegetarian” Yep let that sink in with them.

Minsc seems a bit surprised “Well….that’s clearly something different now isn’t it “

Leafeyes nods  “Another reason yet to be friends”   

Xander hmmms “Well…a non-meat eating monitor is different but even if you did eat meat,  I still trust and see you as a friend and an honorable beast Ferro and your still very much welcome in the Mossflower Defenders, even Krisha if she would like to join”

Zolomon grins “For sure my friend…a monitor equals strong and a little fearsome and this one won’t eat ya….let’s just say had a bad experience with a monitor once”

Edson listens and nods “I need to go, I shall be at the tavern later sir” He nods to Xander and then the others and makes his exit.

Krisha yawns and looks tried as she motions that maybe they can head to the Blacksmith shop now

Ferro nods to Krisha “Of course dear….and I am glad to have friends Xander” He sighs and smiles at the badger maid “Go on ahead dear I shall catch up”

Krisha pouts but nods and heads on towards the Blacksmith shop.

Zolomon goes to follow "I shall get her there sir..."

Xander nods as he watches them go and looks at Ferro "I will be at the abbey if needed, have a good eve"

Ferro speaks "Xander if you would...help...pleaszzzzzzzz...maybe zzzzhe would talk faster with own kind, her voice I mizzzzzzzz"

Xander pulses and nods "I....ok Ferro, i will be back later tonight, need to think" He then walks off.

Leafeyes waves to the lizard as she tags along with Xander.
