Finally Salamanstron-Dibbun Slavers TP LOG

The ocean crashes against the shore of the land, great, cresting waves rising up and crashing down effortlessly against the sand of the shore. Rising above the land is Salamandastron, the ochre coloured stone of the great mountain gleaming in the summer sunshine. Up near the peak a band of green surmounts the otherwise seer sides of the mountain, the garden of the hares and below that various dark openings in cliffsides and mountain walls give view to windows that lead into the warren of tunnels that house the Long Patrol and their Lord.

It is a welcome sight, after nearly four days of pulling and pushing the log boats south through the surf and sea water Matilda and the two GUOSIM shrews are close to exhausted. With Donican in the larger logboat caring for Xander and Caleb in the smaller one with an exhausted DoraRose and the baby Oz it has been a hard and harsh journey under the sun!

Now however the party are approaching the mountain, there are still a few miles but they should be in sight of the hares on patrol. A hedgehog, two shrew logboats with accompanying shrews, two mouse & two badgers, not the usual visitors the mountain is used to receiving.

Caleb just has been silent for most of the trip, worrying about his father and caring for his baby brother. He's taken off most of his armor on this last leg mostly to cool off from the sun but it didn't help that he'd look back every so often to see Xander getting treated and with no real way to help. For now he was just watching Oz and making sure Dorarose got her rest, keeping eyes out for any suspicious activity.

Donica is tried, she managed a small nap but only a small one as she has done her best to keep Xander alive , she checks a cloth as she keep a wet cloth on his forehead to help. She checked his pulse and breathing and frowned as the longer they took the worse he got.

Xander only movement is his breathing, but thats a little hard to see now, he still shivers once in a while and at one point was muttering weakly but it was unclear what he was trying to say , if anything really.He was at death's door but something seemed to stop him from entering the door.

Oz is sleeping, least at the morment.It seems the rocking of a log boat helped. he had his very grumpy times but is quiet...for now.

Zolomon is on the beach, sadly with two of the worse privates in history!He groans as there is Cole and Slaw, Cole looks ready to bolt as its very clear an arrow barely missed the Sargeants footpaw, it got between his toes and now he will need a new boot"I am just about that...."Cole points and Zolomon just snorts"No let me.." .."But Sarg...."They both say now as he turns around and blinks...he stuides the visators...wait visators!!He quickly looks around where is that bird when he needs him"Rufus!"

Rufus is busy trying to get a sand crab and looks at the hare"What bunny vhat now..."The crab gets away as he looks at the hares and towards where they look, "Eeee...out of Rufus way..."He flaps up to the air and circles around, he then heads to a large window in the mountain, visators could mean something."I get Bunny Lord!"

Hauling the larger log boat up onto shore Matilda and Oswald beach the heavy wooden boat, the hedgehog moving around behind it to push and shove it up the beach as far as she can with it full of Xander. The champion then sends the GUOSIM to secure Caleb's smaller boat and starts jogging up the beach toward the hares.

She isn't wearing her shield or armour, dressed in just a long green tunic but the red pommel stone at her waist can only be one weapon. She eyes the privates and jogs past them toward Zolomon, looking at his insignia, "Sergeant, I am Matilda, Redwall Abbey asks for your assistance."

Ciocan meanwhile is in his study, the large open window behind him as he sits at his desk with Quinten, the old hare going over some reports and information about the general day to day running of the mountain, supplies they need. What Cole and Slaw did to the kitchen the other day, general things.

Caleb waits until the log boat is secure and slowly gathers up Oz to carry him. He would naturally head over towards where Xander lay, laying his bag down near Donica and setting the baby badger in his lap so he could write. He takes out his pad and quickly jots something down, showing it Donica. "He looks like he's on death's door. What are the symptoms?" It shows that the mouse is really worried cause his writing is a bit messy compared to his usual clean and clear lines.

Donica stay by the boat that has Xander in it, she frowns..tried but she has to stay focused sleep can come later.She frowns just...frowns.

Xander is comatose now, barely breathing and hanging on to life by a mere super thin thread.Hi pulse is there just super weak,might take a few seconds to find it.

Zolomon just stares and seems in some sort of shocked state.."Wot...is that...is he...?"He shakes his head and even Cole and Slaw walk over and seem to be behaving for now, the Sargeant glances at where Rufus is going..good, good thats a faster way to get him down here as he focuses "Ok..right...updates later, anyone else..wounded...?" He clearly sees Xander but has to focus, not panic.

Rufus lands on the window and yarks loudly"Have visitors on beach...should hurry quickfast!" He makes sure they know before he will fly back to beach and land by where the group is now and tilts his head.

Ciocan stood up, "Quinten, get the infirmary ready for patients, exhaustion is the main problem," The general bobs a salute and darts out.

Ciocan meanwhile picks up a box that clinks faintly with glass and starts out the door.

"Rufus, fly back down and tell them the Bunny Lord is on his way," He smiles softly, he's accepted that the gull has named him and thus it shall be. Birds are not to be argued with, their names are the most important."

Matilda meanwhile moves back to the boat and frowns, "Xander has been poisoned... everyone else is mostly suffering exhaustion, it's been four days since... since she got away.... I'll explain more later but we need to get Xander into your infirmary."

Caleb was pretty exhausted himself but he was used to exhaustion more than anything. However has Zolomon and the other recruits came over towards Xander he seemed to get defensive... it was only now that Caleb's exhaustion showed as he realized he was where he was originally wanting to go. The mouse never even figured out that they were going to Sala until just now when he notices all the hares. Some bags had formed under his eyes but he seemed more worried about everyone else than himself. He only mouthed the word, "Salamandstron" before just falling once more onto his rump, holding Oz to him.

Donica nods as she steps forwards slowly and about falls onto the sand.She frowns, hey she didnt sleep the whole 4 days ok.

Zolomon rushes forwards to catch Donica and mutters "Got ya lass..."He glances at Xander and frowns deeply "Poisoned?" He looks at Cole and Slaw "Get some others to help them inside...go...and make sure his Lordship is coming!" Yeah Ciocan likely can carry Xander, and then Oz picks the perfect time to wake up and starts whimpering.

Rufus has landed by the the ground "Bunny Lord he comma quickfast ya ya.."He perns a wing and looks at the others "Visators need sleep time ya ya..sleep is good and good food, food here is goodstuff ya ya"

Gregorian had been speaking to an old friend in the infirmary when the word that healers were needed for some visitors. He followed the infirmary staff out, heading for the group "Wot's all this goin' on out here?" he leaves the healers to do their thing as he stops out their way, scanning the area for trouble.

It doesn't take long for Ciocan to arrive on the scene, he moves past his hares and over to Xander where he lies in the boat, "Ok...." he looks around gathering everyones, taking command, "Zolomon stay there, do not touch anyone," He motions at the healers about to move over to Xander, "No one touch the badger."

He opens the box and takes out a bottle and moves over to Xander, he then grips the badger muzzle and gently, carefully helps the other badger to swallow it. He pushes the box toward Zolomon with the other paw, "Everyone from the abbey and Zolomon drink one of those."

He looks down at Xander and frowns, "Xander has been poisoned by Zartun Weed, it is incredibly deadly and it can pass to others who come into contact with one of the infected," He looks around at everyone, "So please, drink this antidote, I had it ready for your arrival."

Matilda bows to the Badger Lord, "Thank you my lord, I take it you have been expecting us? We... did not know where else to go. The vermin we where chasing escaped us on the shores near the river moss three days ago but Xander was poisoned."

Donica frowns, she for sure was near him , she will look at the vial and drink it if its truly needed but she is still gonna need to be carried, still super tired.

Show no fear. It was one of the biggest things Lucian had taught Caleb all those years ago. But at the moment, it seemed hard to do since now this was the biggest challenge he would face: Meeting Badger Lord Ciocan. Caleb was obviously nervous, whimpering himself along with Oz. He'd only take a few moments to rock the badger baby so he wouldn't start to cry, having to had learned that during their four day trek. When Ciocan came up to Xander the mouse stands up, a little wobbly, as he goes to protect his father. But the mute lad sees that he's being given the antidote and backs down. Making sure that Oz gets his own, Caleb seems to let everyone else go before taking his own of the antidote.

Xander does manage to get it down, with the help and coughs,shivers again and is still....but there is the very slow rise and fall of his chest, very slow and his pulse is still hardly there, its not like he will wake any time soon...and there could still be a chance...he will have be watched very very closely.

Oz makes a face..what is that horrible..its yucky and he now wails!!!!! Ya angry baby badger how wonderful..and loud!

Zolomon frowns "I didn't..."He takes the box and looks ready to panic, he looks at Donica..if he wasn't trying to hold her, and this box he would so rush to his best friends side, he is slowly..starting to..lose that focus..."Is Xandy Dead?Is he gonna die? Is..is..."He gulps down the vial just in case, a hare listens to his badger Lord after all and ajusts his hold on the hare maid,and the box and looks ready to panic.He is staying focus...barely.

DoraRose has been forcing herself to stay awake since the fight the other day. She had never had the Bloodwrath as badly as she had that day, and under normal circumstances she would have taken a day to rest. However, these are not normal circumstances, as anyone can see. So she has been forcing through her fatigue and staggering on, refusing to rest in any way, barely eating. She has put her axe in the boat with Caleb and Oz and covered it with her stuff to hide the sharp edges.

Now she was tottering and weaving, and she has collapsed to the ground in a faint upon seeing her friends being taken care of. They're at safety, so she feels free to relax now. When someone gives her the antidote, she'll be able to drink it before passing out completely.

Rufus looks around, he didnt get close and he stays where he is as the Badger Lord comes.."Who gonna carry other badger?" He asks,as Oz wails Rufus puffs up and yarks...he backs up now even further.

Gregorian raises an eyebrow but stops where he is when Coican orders them not to get close. He frowns as the anidote is being passed around, he'd never heard of a contagious poison before but he wasn't going to question the Badger Lord. He also didn't ask what happened again and instead kept watch on their surroundings since poison almost certainly means vermin.

Matilda sags as she drinks the antidote she is given and glances at the Badger lord as with a few words with the healers he lifts Xander up into his arms. He then glances at the Champion she draws the sword of Martin, straightening up and saluting his lordship, the words along the blade catching the sunlight.

"I am that is."

"What happened Matilda? I... received a vision to prepare this antidote and to expect people from the abbey but not why."

The champion bows and looks around, frowning she sheathes her sword and moves toward Dora, "We... where following a fox and her band of rats. They... they kidnapped the dibbuns, all of them... we have been chasing them for weeks, but when we reached the shore they gave us the slip by sailing to sea..."

The champion frowns as she kneels by Dora, "We... came here because Martin said we could find help here and it seems you where forewarned?"

Ciocan nods and turns to look at the hares, "Gregorian, take charge here please, bring our guests inside and get them fed and beds, I will take Xander here to the infirmary."

Donica grunts a little, if anyone is effected somewhat its her, luckly not nearly as bad as xander but she was right up next to him, keeping him alive best she could.

Caleb was trying to keep his attention on... well, everything. First off was the matter of Oz. He was now the son of Xander and had to take care of his baby brother. Second was Donica and Xander. He could see that Xander and Donica were at least being prepared to be taken inside. And third... well that was Lord Ciocan himself. His entire journey was to have the end goal of meeting the Lord of the Mountain to receive warrior training but he had clearly underestimated everything. Ciocan was massive, looked like he knew his way around a fight... but seemed so nice. Eventually Caleb snaps out of it and hears Oz crying, rocking him some more and making a few soothing noises while he searches for something more delicious to drink. It's pretty clear he wants to carry Oz but... he doesn't know what to do.

Zolomon is just zooned out,he watches Ciocan take his friend...his best friend inside and about drops Donica, he then blinks and frowns down at the hare maid.."Ok..is she dead..?" He sees Greg and walks over to him"The lass...passed out and ...and.."His one ear droops...panic rises but he focuses on ...never mind he is FAR from focused now....luckily Old Major Pete to the recue and takes the hare maid Donica and looks Zolomon up and down and sighs "Snap outta it lad for hares sake"

After receiving the antidote, DoraRose goes completely unconscious, and doesn't even notice that someone is carrying her to the Infirmary. The arrow wound in her shoulder (which she didn't tell anyone about after she broke the arrow shaft off close to her skin) is slightly infected because, like a genius, she refused to let anyone look at it, so that will need tended to, as well as a few cuts and bumps here and there.

Felicity comes out of the Mountain and rushes over. "Ms. Rose!" She then spots Zolomon, and all her worries get pushed to the side. "Zolomon?" She looks at who else is in the party, then moves to her fellow Runner's side and stays with him, trying to help him stay calm and sane. She's had plenty of practice doing this with Dom, so she will do her best to help her other friends now. Only those who know her best can see the stress this puts on her, and then they wouldn't be sure because she hides it so well.

Rufus just stays out of the way and flaps over to a bit of drift wood and yarks again as he watches this, he will likely stay out here for a little while.

Gregorian snaps a quick "Sah" at his orders and he turns before pausing "Are they still a dangah tah othahs now?" he questions Coican, in case the antidote took a while to kick in. He turns attention back towards the mountain to yell at the small crowd that had started to gather as the word spread "That's enough of yah gawping! Clear a path tah the infirmary!" He looked back to the visitors and spoke at a more normal, relaxed tone "Alright chaps, any of yah that can walk yah way there we'll show yah where tah go. Don't worry we'll get everyone in, get yah checked out and some food and rest in yah" then they'll see about this dibbun kidnapping, news of which has made his frown worse.

Ciocan glances back, "Everyone should be safe now Gregorian..." he then pauses and looks over the crowd. The two GUOSIM shrews, the two mice, the hare, the badgers and of course the sword of Martin the Warrior. In a low voice he rumbles, softly so probably onlt Greg hears.

"They are all here..." His eyes turn to Rufus, "Even the gull.... it is all coming true... Greg... talk to Quinten, get records of the best hares for a long sea voyage, I am going to need a team to crew a ship." The badger lord then runs his eyes over everyone again and turns and heads inside.

Matilda has Dora in her arms, carrying her whilst a LP healer fusses over the mouse's shoulder, muttering about arrow wounds being left to fester like this. The champion pauses to check Caleb is ok, "You ok my lad? Your father will be fine... Martin... provides and it seems the sight of the Badger Lord of Salamandastron had them ready for this."

She then starts back inside again, doing as she is told, she may be Champion of Redwall but she is a guest here. Oswald meanwhile has Matilda's shield and their bags with Keldorn and are bringing them up after the party, including Dora's axe and other gear left in the log-boats. The shrews excitedly chattering away with the hares. The whole story is coming out, the nighttime raid by Vermin, the murder of Old Sister Ginny and the kidnapping of all the dibbuns whilst they where having a camp out in the orchard. Then the search, the chase, Matilda's mission from the Abbot to track down the vermin who kidnapped the abbeys children.

It also comes out that Martin has been guiding them, Donica joining them, proving to be a secret blessing as she was able to keep Xander alive until they reached the mountain. Caleb's adoption into Xander's family and that he is mute. The shrews keep nothing back, after all everyone knows the GUOSIM love to gossip and Oswald is a first rate storyteller.

Donica is semi alert, but becomes more alert and looks at Pete as he carries her" Is..xander...we make it in time?"

Caleb simply seems zoned out, not sure what to do or where to go since like Donica he hasn't gotten much if not any sleep. It was only when Matilda talked to him that he snapped out of his glazed state yet again. He just simply nods towards the others and gets up to carry Oz inside to where they'll be staying, voting to carry his own bag. However he makes sure to write something for Donica so she knows what's happening since he would have to take a moment on doing his paw language. "Yeah, he's fine. We're all gonna make it through this. Thank you for keeping him safe, Donica."

Zolomon snaps mostly back to the here and now and follows the others inside quickly now.Old Pete stays close by and will sit the hare maid in a chair inside and hmmps, but he wants to get update on whats going on.

Rufus decides he may as well head insside "Bunnys burrow...nice inside....Rufus like....where these vermin, Rufus find and hurt plentygood"

Gregorian nods once at the news they're not going to get others sick before he raises an eyebrow at the badger's mutterings. He nods slowly once and mutters back "Yes sah" watching the badger go inside before it's to work "Right, get them inside!" he orders a few of the hares near the mountain entrance "Show them where tah go" he trusts the hedgehog can handle carrying Dora.

Ciocan deposits Xander in a badger sized bed, leaving the comatose badger to the care of healers. Emerging from the infirmary the large badger stares down at Caleb for a long moment, "We will talk soon young warrior, but first... friends of the GUOSIM, I believe we need to talk?" He then sweeps Oswald and Keldorn away to his study to talk with them about this and that.

Matilda meanwhile sees her people to the infirmary, laying Dora down on a bed, she has a brief chat with the healers about Dora's post bloodwrath refusal to sleep and the healers nod. The Long Patrol hares know how to deal with beasts who are coming down from the bloodwrath.

The champion then makes a circuit, checking on Donica, Caleb & Oz and finally allows herself to be led off to a room to sleep. She is uninjured but she is exhausted and the healers insist the hedgehog needs to sleep.

Donica frowns as she sits on a cot, she needs rest and likely checked more so since she was in direct contact keeping Xander alive. She muttere she is ok..but does lay down.

Caleb seemed a bit concerned about Xander being taken in, having set his bag down near the infirmary. Looking up towards Lord Ciocan, he would hold Oz carefully as the badger baby slept. The Lord himself wants to talk to him? That... felt ominous to be honest. But he would only nod and sit down nearby. He really wanted to sleep but needed to stay awake for just a bit longer to talk to Ciocan. As Matilda passed by he would smile some... it seemed Caleb was content that his father would live.

Zolomon has heard some of the talk the shrews had before they went inside and he sits down in a chair, he started to go to where Xander is but a healer shoved him out so he went to sit elsewhere.He looks over at the cub "Xandy has a...dibbun?" He smiles a little, still worried,he looks at Caleb and nods "Hallo...chap. Things will be right as rain....your see...good healers here" Old Pete gets back to sentry duty, nothing else best happens today.

Rufus stays out of the way to where he can watch things, he soon decides to head off, he needs fishes..fresh fishes and son flies off and then goes to his nest, which he made on the crater, yep forever close to his new bunny friends

Gregorian quietly orders a few extra hares on to sentry duty just in case there are vermin running around outside before he follows the group in as soon as he's sure all their stuff has been moved in and the boats secured. Everything seems to have calmed down though so he merely makes sure anyone too nosey doesn't disturb the visitors and leaves the healers to it. Apparently he has to see about crew for a ship instead and he's sure there's some report to be made for the higher ups.

Koda peeks into the doorway"Wots...happening?"

Caleb seems to still be pretty out of it. He sets Oz aside so that he can sleep properly before he looks towards Zolomon as the mouse was addressed. Zolomon would see him pull out his pad and write down with his charcoal. "My name is Caleb... the only reason I'm so worried is because Xander has adopted me as his son and that's why I was so protective on the beach, even standing up to the badger lord there. But I'm delirious as well because of not sleeping for the four days we took to get here. I'm just... watching over my baby brother."

Zolomon frowns at Koda "Not to worry on lad...tis being taken care of..." He looks at the writting and blinks, "Adopted?" He smiles and glaces at the doorway Xander is behind and frowns worried, he watches as Greg walks off and it seems he is staying here for now anyways as all this sinks in,,,"The..herbs..they were for....oh my goodness.."He looks at Caleb "Then get some rest lad..your all safe 'ere"

Koda frowns, he decides to just not worry, "I'm...Koda...sur"He says to Zolomon...just a first name he gives.

"I would love to get sleep but... I guess I'm just so worried. Never had to take care of a dibbun before, you know. But I may take up the offer now that I know my father is safe. As for me... I arrived to Redwall Abbey a few days before they were attacked and the dibbuns stolen. I am only glad that I've been able to help now." He'd stop writing and give Koda a smile and wave, groaning somewhat as he lays back and rubs at his eyes.

Zolomon frowns at the news "The cub will be ok...I can watch him fer now"He smiles a bit "Sargeant Zolomon Arturo Garrick Anderson IV..at ya service...runner and archer 'ere at de mountain"

Caleb makes sure to give a small salute for the hare, writing a tad bit more before he passes out. "I'm a travelling swordsman but after this is all over I will be settling at the Abbey... makes me laugh that through my journey I've always wanted to come here and now here I am. I... think I'm going to--" It seems that was all he was able to muster up as Caleb passes out fully, his body just sort of shutting off as he drops the pad and charcoal.

Zolomon catches the mouse and makes sure he is placed in a bed, he will lay he pad and charcoal beside him and ..then there is Oz , Oz stays asleep a little while and when he wakes decides he don't like the hare....well Zolomon tried he does know one caretaker all dibbuns love, he will try his luck! He then get s back to what ever duties he has for the evening, then he os going to stay by Xander's side, if he can. till he wakes up...if not he will make sure he is given any needed updates, good or bad!!!

Dom and baby Oz need to meet now, for sure!

(And just for clarity for future readers: D.R. refused to rest in any way, shape, or form, including by riding in a logboat. She's a stubborn nincompoop sometimes. She learned it from her grandmother, Angela. At least D.R. doesn't go around hitting people at random with sticks Only bad guys )
