Xander walked through the woods quietly, paw near his blade as he walked.

Matilda glaces around “So where are we going and why are you so nervous? Is this something or someone to be concerned with? Should I be concerned?”

Ewan frowned, he had his blade yes but not out as he hummed “I been down this path,somewhat,,there is not much here, well other paths and I have yet to explore one or two as paths could go anywhere really”

Xander sighed “Why so many questions? And Brother Gorvenalus said this is where Richard lives...a ferret who like makes toys and such, for ya know Snow Badger ...stuff”Ok he is a little worried, “And he is a hermit and supposedly he liked very few beasts, he liked Uncle Oz and Brother Gorvenalus.”

Matilda frowns “A ferret? Are you sure this Richard is a ferret and when did Oz  ever talk to a ferret in the woods and a creepy area at that?”

Ewan looks around “I think it's just creepy cause it's dark and the leaves are gone cause it's winter time, and the ice and snow makes it more creepy, and like shadows and stuff..and..”He frowns “I don’t know this path.”Ok he is a little creeped out now, well at least he knows the way back thanks to a very good memory, the whole see a path once and he can know where to head to get back home.

Xander doesn't go too much further till he finds where a small cottage is and blinks,paw on his sword.

The small hut is a bit creepy, but not nearly as a certain other hut by a certain graveyard. This hut is all grey and blue colored, and has vines on the side.Also there is a gravel walkway and a LARGE sign with big red letters =GO AWAY!= There is like one window and a door,the roof is like most roofs and a small chimney with smoke, well someone is home at least.There is a shed also, and some other sort of small building of some sort, storage maybe. And then a cloaked beast appears behind then and he was grumpy

“What ye want ya trespassers”

Matilda swings around and right away a blade is at the cloaked beast’s neck.

Ewan backs up and lays a paw on his blade and slowly turns around studying the beast “Umm..sorry?”

Xander frowns “We are..sorry...are you Richard?” He asks “Brother Gorvenalus mentioned ya...Uncle Oz knew you..if, if you are..Richard, if your not we can leave you alone..”He eyes the Champ “Matilda ...it's ok...I think”

The cloaked beast just snorts and moves backwards, he looks at the badger and removes his hood, it's a ferret “Aye...so why did he send you lot?” He sounds annoyed “Oz knows I dislike beast I don’t even know…”He studies the badger “Ye must be Xander...least your polite, the hedgehog here put a blade at me and the hare just seems uncertain and has a paw on his blade.”

Matilda still holds the blade and narrows her eyes, but she lets Xander do the talking for now.

Ewan just sits down, or is that a good plan? He is not sure but he is trying to show he means no harm and yeah let the badger talk.

Xander frowns “Uncle Oz..he died towards the end of  Summer”Tears go down his face”So did my...daughter, well she died in Autumn...Krisha is the Badgermother now and..”He gets out and holds out a scroll “I want to help with the Snow Badger welcoming and getting ready...whatever it’s called and Uncle Oz went to you I was told for like wooden tops and such and..so thought..I come find you, please”

Richard frowns “Oz died?” He sounds sad and goes quiet. He pushes away the scroll and nods “Course...but only doin’ this cause Oz were me friend,..come in “ The next few words said a bit loudly”Touch nothing!”

Xander nods as he follows him inside and motions for the other two to follow

Matilda looks around. “So this is what Oz did when he had a couple days off near Mid Winter?”

Ewan looks around as they enter “I..think he went with...someone”

Richard speaks “He did...someone named Sister Ginny, she still around right? He also brought a beaver once….”He has a collect of tops, wooden blocks, some wooden  figures of badgers, mice,voles and moles, even a couple ferrets and some cats. He also has marble sets and other things.”Sit...ya can spend the night. I can make tea..and some veggie stew, it has bits of shrimp but tis good” He frowns “Sorry ta hear bout Oz..he seemed to be a bit..tried last winter in fact, that's when that beaver was with him, a healer or something”

Xander answers “Brother Gorvealus is our Recorder but yes he is a very good healer also, he use to be an Abbot at a place called Willowbark Abbey” He sighs tears goes down his face “I miss Uncle Oz...he..he died in his sleep after an illness that got worse”He adds “Sister Ginny is still alive”

Matilda decides to sit down and pats a chair beside her for Ewan to sit as well, she is somewhat calmer now.

Ewan sits now and just listens and waits.

“Of course you miss him and you will for a while, let no beast tell ya any different either”Richard says as he finishes warming dinner and the tea”I rarely get company...tis nice to have at times, long as it’s a few beasts and not like a lot” He is quiet before adding “I will get those gifts together for ya and you can all leave come morning with em’ and maybe a couple other things too”He has the wooden toys but he also has some soft toys as well like a soft doll, maybe a ball, and a set of jacks.He also has books for dibbuns to learn shapes,colors and numbers better.”Like these books I made, simple things but good for dibbuns to learn when not in class and has pictures too of some basic plants to know”

Xander nods “Thanks Richard.We also brought you some things.Some October Ale, some Cherry cordial and I even managed to get chocolate from Ferravale”

Matilda yawns as she rubs her eyes and gets the fireplace going better “I hate this winter it's so much colder than its been in seasons”

Ewan nods “It is, that is true or so I read on it that is”

Richard smiles softly “Thank you for the gifts and for getting the fireplace going again...so ...let's eat dinner, talk a little and then you all can head home come morning”

The small group of beasts had dinner and then sleep , leaving in the morning and got back to the Abbey before lunch.
