Who:
Benar-Abbot of Redwall
Krisha- Badger Mother
some spoofed dibbuns.
LOG:
==Badger Mother's Room Redwall Abbey==
Krisha was sitting on the edge of the bed , looking at the old chest quietly and the key in her paw, she tried the lock and opened the chest glaceing inside it.
Inside the chest is a picture of a family of badgers, those badgers being a infant Oz, his older brother Zork and their parents, Also another picture shows Oz and his mate Northstar, she is holding their newborn Cole. Also in the chest is a quarterstaff that's a slight blue and made of metal, very very light weight. An old but very lovely dress, likely worn but Oz's mate Northstar and a small stuffed toy that looks like a sort of badger teddy bear. An old blue and white checked quilt and a couple books about Send Valley and one on herbs and healing by someone named Silverfangs. Other than this an old, slightly torn cloak, a wrap for maybe a sore leg or knee perhaps, some colored stones like river stones, a book of pressed leaves around Mossflower and assorted pictures likely dibbuns made threw the seasons.
Krisha studies these and a few tears go down her face and she lets a sob escape and closes the chest as she lays down. She sighs as his scent is still faint but its in the room still, and this only makes more tears come as she had come to think of Oz as a sort of grandfather or just father to her. A special guardian that's now...gone forever.
A small paw touches her arm, and then another one as a couple mouse dibbuns show up "Mother Krisha?" The seem curious, a vole dibbun even climbs up and goes to try and clear away some tears "You eyes leaking..."
There is a soft knock at the doorway"Krisha are you awake?"
Krisha blinks as she looks at the dibbuns, don't hide feelings from them he had said as she sniffs "Yeah....they are.."She sits up and sighs, she answers "Come in...."
Benar enters carrying an old jornal book, "I am sorry I didn't get this sooner, I have been busy..."He smiles at the dibbuns and then notices the tears "Are you ok Krisha dear?"
One of the 3 dibbuns speak "Her eyes were leaking."They snuggle close to her and smile, the other two dibbuns smile also to cheer up the Bagder Mother.
Krisha smiles a little, she can't help it and hugs the dibbuns "I will be ok little ones, get back to bed..ok?"
The dibbuns nod and slowly slip off, the last one the vole leaves her stuffed toy doll "They can stays with you to keep company"They then hurry to bed.
Benar smiles as he watches the dibbuns head back to bed and sits by Krisha "Dibbuns always do have a way to cheer one don't they?" He looks to the old journal " I thought you might want to read some of the old entries or maybe..write your own now."
Krisha nods in agreement and then looks at the abbot as she wipes away tears "I..I still miss him, I miss his voice and tea times, I miss helping him...and always reminding him to take that tonic of his, and he would and he even took it the..the day he...was in the orchards.."
Benar lays a paw on Krisha's arm and speaks "I still miss him as well and its ok to miss someone , he was important to a lot of us."
Krisha nods and gently hugs Benar, she looks to the journal and nods "I..think I might write my first entry as Badger Mother now...not to worry I know to be careful with it and will return it in the morning before breakfast"
Benar nods and hugs the badger as he stands "I will leave you to your writing, good night Mother Krisha" He then heads to his room.
Krisha nods "Good night Benar" She then gets a quill and ink and takes a deep breath and starts to write....

Krisha's Entry in the book
This is the first time I have really written down anything in a journal, I have read many of the entries here and they were helpful .I thought a while before I wrote my first entry into this journal of Badger Mothers. I have trained under Oz...oh Oz how I miss him he was like a father figure to me and a great friend. I miss him so much,he died a few weeks ago and yes I am just now writing my first entry. I officially was given the title by Abbot Benar a couple days before Oz died.
The day Oz went into that deep faint he never woke from, was one of the worst days of my life. We had a dibbun campout by the pond and Oz was feeling a little tired, some shade in the orchards he told me, he would be fine after a short rest...he passed out, he woke a few mere morments in the infirm,an order beast had told me how he was found unconscious in the orchards and was now asking for me so of course I went to his side, to assure him the dibbuns would be fine while he was in the infirm, he told me he knew they would be safe with me and the last two words he spoke was...Mother Krisha...it was then he slipped into his never waking deep faint as he died a week later.
My first day as Badger Mother after his death was quiet, I cried and the dibbuns cried and I was there to comfort them, I also had to comfort Xander and Abbot Benar over the lost of Oz. Oz was loved by many beasts and will likely still be missed seasons from now.
Have I had any interesting happenings as Badger Mother yet? Not yet..Advice for those who come after me? Well dibbuns are good at cheering you up when your sad and it’s important to not hide feelings from them, if your sad let them know why, don't be worried that crying in front of them is bad, it’s not, dibbuns need to learn of feelings also. The dibbuns mind me very well as I have only had one issue so far where one dibbun hid another's favorite toy so I made them find and give it back.
I love the dibbuns, they are like my own children.I know Oz thought of all the dibbuns as his own children as well, his dibbuns he called them ...well they are my dibbuns too. I am unable to have a dibbun of my very own and recently lost my daughter, an orphaned badger cub me and Xander adopted. She died not too long after Oz died. I slowly get over the death of my daughter and of Oz and the dibbuns will help me with that a lot. I will write another entry when I feel the need to till then
