The Shrews Are Back In Mossflower!

Vilfred is walking around near the pond, no shrews as they headed to the new camp and he promised he would be along soon, truth be told he needed time away as there was an argument over pie of all things.

Krisha is relaxing, she does go to help one dibbun to throw a skipping stone and makes sure another stays close to shore, most of them do except for the otter twins, she sighs and shakes her head, of course...BUT they always stay close still and one makes their way to the badger "Mother Krisha I find a sock?" She chuckles "Well that's interesting."

Benar glances over and watches the dibbuns playing for a moment then glances across at another figure and smiles, raising a hand, "Ah it is the Log-a-Log isn't it? I am so sorry we didn't have time to talk at the feast, Oswald and his entertainers were keeping things busy."

Vilfred nods and offers a paw "Yes..new Log-a-Log...Vilfred at your service sir...my shrews and I have been down south but are now back here, with a camp right near the river and north of Ferravale"

Krisha waves to the Log a Log she meet him a little before the feast started.She gets the dibbuns to stay closer to shore now as it will be dark soon.

Benar holds out his paws, "I didn't think the Log-a-Log kept any other name after they were chosen?" he grins, "It is so very nice to have you all back, Mossflower isn't quite the same without the GOUSIN."

Vilfred says, "Mainly...Log-A-Log yes...."He grins and nods "The other shrews are on the way back to camp..though it best as was arguing over what pie was best""

Krisha smiles as Sister Ginny and Sister Anna will get the dibbuns inside as she walks over and nods her hello"Hello again Log A Log "

Benar asks, "Well deciding which one of Lacota's pies is best is not easy," he waves at Krisha, "So do you and your shrews need anything out at your new camp? I am sure the Abbey can lend a hand if you need supplies or want to borrow a mole team to help with building or anything?""

Vilfred says, "I am thinking we are ok, just a small camp of 10 beasts for now..should have things done before cold weather hits.""

Benar says, "Well if the abbey can ever help with anything do let me know Log-a-Log and you are all welcome to our seasonal feasts of course. I'll have to make sure to introduce you to everyone.""

Krisha says, "I tend to like the apple pie myself"She looks to where the dibbuns went "May need to head inside here soon""

Vilfred nods "Ahh yes the feast I liked it very much as did the shrews of my camp..might need to share a bread cake recipe we make a lot at camp"

Benar says, "Apple Pie is nice, I think I prefer the pear crumble myself," he smiles, "There is just something much more lovely about an apple crumble then a pie crust." he leans back on his log, "So Log-a-Log where have the GOUSIM been? I am sure you have tales to share with us all.""

Krisha quietly heads inside letting the abbot talk with the shrew, she has some dibbuns to tend to.

Vilfred waves to the badger and smiles "South a little past the church, we did have an issue with a wolver, but it was taken care of and is no longer an issue for anyone, the camp was also...not the best so went back by the river, slightly different location than before."

Benar says, "Well moving camp is never a bad idea, and the river is as wide and deep as it has always been. I look forward to seeing you all paddling past when I head on out to collect clay from the river banks"

Vilfred says, "The old camp was...messed up, likely vermin seen it wasn't used much and ...well messed it up more so was earlier to just go elsewhere and make a new camp a little ways away from the older one, we are not as close to the camp willow but that is alright""

Benar says, "Well next time I get the chance to leave the Abbey I'll be sure to visit," he smiles, "Not that I get to go out very often, running this place is a full time job""

Vilfred says, "Well the abbot is the most important job to have, most likely very busy at times and not so likely to get a break to take walks....least walks outside the abbey""

Benar says, "Well I get time off each day to enjoy the abbey and I get to go on the odd trip out to the river which is always nice. But yes it sure does take a lot to keep this place running, but then Log-a-Log is no simple job either.""

Vilfred says, "That is true yes, a lot to dp beasts to keep in place and sometimes settle arguments, we patrol the woods and keep Mossflower safe, we have seen no villains lately and hope to keep it not seeing any""

Benar says, "Well I am glad we haven't seen any villains lately," he looks out toward where the sun is setting, "It is nice when Mossflower is at peace.""

Vilfred nods"Yes peace is good and helps one get things done."

Benar says, "Well Log-a-Log I am sure you have a lot to do to get the camp up and running. But again if there is anything Redwall can do to help, please do let me know, I am more than happy to do our bit.""

The Log-A-Log nods and decides to head on to camp, it is nightfall but he is not too concerned.

==On the Road=

Vilfred had chatted with the abbot a while and then when the Abbot needed to head off to do some sort of abbot duties he quietly headed on outside and back towards his camp.

Oswald is waiting outside on the path, the brown shrew's scruffy fur blowing in the wind, tugging at the tail end of his purple bandana and braided hair. He raises a paw in greeting, the bell on the cuff of his blue coat chiming softly, "Log-a-Log, do you have a moment?"

Vilfred turns and sees Oswald and smiles "I have a moment yes, wha' is it you need?"

Oswald strolls over and bows, one hand clasped to the hilt of his sword, "A simple need Log-a-Log, permission to return home and rejoin the GUOSIM, it has been too long since ah sailed with me brethren on the river. Hearing ye were back in Mossflower I wish to hand me blade to you and sail alongside you once again."

Vilfred smiles wide and offers her paw "It would be good ta have you back among us indeed, so guess then it would be Welcome Back to you..Oswald"He chuckles "I am guessing one has taken over your entertaining group then?"

Oswald grins and holds that paw, clasping it firmly, "Me troupe are heading back to the south and Southsward, me number two is leading the way... I can't turn me back on the GUOSIM, if we are home in Mossflower then me place is by your side Log-a-Log."

Vilfred nods "We are home, a little north of Ferravale just along the River thar, gotta have the river for long boats after all. And having a fellow fighter is good. I am hopeing peace lasts though" '

Oswald taps the hilt of his rapier and grins, "Well I know my way around a fight and a boat! It'd be good to be on the water again Log-a-Log, it's good ta 'ave a log-a-log to stand beside again."

Vilfred chuckles,"I am glad as well.I missed the river life when we left, but when that horde was here it caused some issues with the last camp, then had a hard couple seasons and lost the former Log a Log, I been in charge a bout a little over a season and we were in a small camp by the church south of the abbey, was not the best and had a wolverine issue...but good news that issue is all gone now thanks to some help we had show up"

Oswald swirls his coat around himself and turns toward the north, "Well Log-a-Log thank you for having me back! I can't wait to see everyone again... I got separated from the group in a storm and had to go my own way for a bit... the troupe were good company but none of them knew how to argue.

Vilfred grins"Oh your get arguing at the camp, they seem to find something to argue over but when tis time to be serious they are serious" Oswald grins, "Oooh what I wouldn't give for a good argument about nothing at all! It's been way too long Log-a-Log, so asides from setting up camp and stomping on Vermin up and down the woods what else we got planned?"

Vilfred hmmms as he taps his chin "Well we went to the feast, found out there is this group called Mosssflower Defenders that is around as well...small group but they are also protectors of Mossflower and are lead by a badger.As for plans right now is get needs of camp together, make sure we are all set for winter season"

Oswald says, "Well being sent for winter is good," he picks up a large bundle and slings it over one shoulder, "And those defenders, good beasts I hear... though the Abbot I hear frowns at them but that's to be expected from the head of the order. He thinks we should all be good peaceful beasts like them folks in the habits."

The Log-A-Log nods and says, "Not all can be peaceful all the time, yes a warrior can...be a peace and have time to relax, but always be on the alert for trouble as it can sneak up on ya if one is not careful"

Oswald says, "Well being sent for winter is good," he picks up a large bundle and slings it over one shoulder, "And those defenders, good beasts I hear... though the Abbot I hear frowns at them but that's to be expected from the head of the order. He thinks we should all be good peaceful beasts like them folks in the habits."

Oswald exclaims, "Oh aye I agree Log-a-Log, so what say we head on back to camp and I can say hello to the others! It'll be great ta get back in the river too."

Vilfred nods "Sounds good indeed and we are only 1/3 a day, maybe a little more...from the abbey.I have let them know where we are...let us go"

Oswald exclaims, "Well I am sure it'll be handy fer em ta know where we are in times of need!"

The two shrews make it back to camp safely and have a very good meal and some nice hot tea.
