The Cave is Not Safe!-LP LOG

Who:

Ewan- LP Residential Hare at Redwall and Private/Fighter in LP

Rudolfo- Fighter/ Private LP

Reva- New Recruit in LP

Spoofs= Ping and Pong-Recruits in LP

Log:

Rudolfo  was slightly annoyed, why did he have to go look for stray recruits as he looked around Halyard for like 3 hours and no luck, of course it was a large place if one thought of it.

Reva watched the lone hare closely and chuckles a little “Ya look like your lost or annoyed, having a bad day? Can I jolly well help ya sur?”

Ewan came walking up about then and slowed when he saw the hares, one he knew but the hare maid he did not know at all.”Ello”He said softly,”Least it's warmer today, was disliking the cold and warmer weather is better anyways”

Rudolfo  sighs “Warmer weather just means more exercise and runs on the beach...”He stops and glaces at the hare maid “I ..not likely lass but thanks fer the offer, I was just looking for a couple LP recruits is all.”

Reva smirks “I may of saw them on that path by those cliffs, interesting place if I do say so me elf, fun and...well dangerous also, those caves and tunnels are odd, maybe older than you guys mountain place, heck who knows maybe like 1000s of seasons ago it was some old lava tunnel, ya know that's like a dead volcano right?”

Ewan blinks “The cliff..seen it lots of times, not close up though as no reason to and its a slippery hill to get to them and crossing a slightly like..stream of water, not that that is bad, it's just slippery and muddy, why would anyone want to go there for?”

Rudolfo hmmms “Because they want ta avoid training drills, you be surprised Ewan, lot of recruits don't like training times and especially since ya all got back from Mossflower..his Lordship been extra hard on training and exercise and staying in tip top shape and making sure the majors and corporals drill us like a lot.”

Reva eyes widen “Oh you ARE Patrol hares then, that's so neat. I had thought of joining but always back off last minute to ask cause it's hard..ya know and I saw the Badger Lord, from like a distance a couple times, even watched him train on the beach and was like..wow if I was a vermin I would totally not like him as an enemy.”She smiles “And yeah I can show you this opening in the cliff side, a sort of cave, thar was another one with bones and decaying bodies but it sort of caved in a little, just a little though. Its like limestone in one area of it I think or that's what me pa would say, he like studies rocks and stuff..way over me head so..yeah..so shall I led the way?”

Ewan blinks “I stay in Redwall Abbey Rudolfo..remember”He wont go into detail just why that was.

Rudolfo nods and goes to follow the hare maid, he nods to Ewan “I know Ewan, but others came back. Do you ever still...ya know...train any?”

The hares are led to the cliff side, large rocks, some in the water and some not. An opening in the cliff side big enough for a left to right line of maybe 3 hares to go in, and it's large on the inside as she looks around “There is an area in here somewhere that has sparkly rocks, it's nice..I thought it were jewels but nope just sparkly shiny rocks, still very pretty and they even glow just ever so slightly.”

Not too far into the tunnel is...yep the 2 missing recruits, brothers it looks like. Ping and Pong, recruits and twins, still recruit age as they are in their mid-teen seasons. They have a nice blanket here and on it cookies, pastries, some sort of cake, some fizzy juice of some sort and giggling as they are telling jokes back and forth”This was perfect..hee hee, this is great.”

Reva tilts her head “See..wot did I say”She folds her arms over her chest and just grins

Ewan frowns as they go into the cavern and looks around “I have a bad feeling about this, can we please leave?”

Rudolfo  pats Ewan on the shoulder “Its fine Ewan, don't worry I don't think there is anything bad in these tunnels, and Salamandastron is just a series of tunnels too ya know” He offers a smile “We wont stay too long.”He then clears his throat and looks at the twins “Ping..Pong...explain ya selves and do it now, looks like you might have a few days of dish washing duty..or worse even, this be the 3nd time ya both skipped training”

“5th time ya rude chap” Ping says

Pong chuckles “Now ping do be less informal with info thar...then who cares training is hard and too long, gonna have some fun too ya know”

Ewan sighs as the shoulder pat is felt and looks around as they go deeper into the tunnels “Yeah but I trust the mountain better”He mutters as his eras perk , then droop a little, are they going below ground, or what?”

Reva chuckles loudly and smiles “Fun is always good and ya need to tune the bossy down”She grins at Rudolfo “Have a little fun and you”She looks at Ewan “No worries no ghosts are inna here...well maybe there is”She waves her paws “The ghost of the dead hault these caves....hey ya wanna see old bones of like a pirate maybe!” She seems excited, little too excited.

Rudolfo taps his foot paw “I am not bossy.”He frowns “Pirate bones..wot?”

Ping and Pong are all for pirate bones and treasure and rush forwards further into the tunnels. The tunnels do go up and down, there is side tunnels and even a couple dead ends.

One area has a pile of old dry bones, some bits of clothing and some old chest..broken and clearly empty now, well a rusty blade is here and some old mug. One skeleton holds a dagger

Ewan keeps a mental note on the turns and twists this place has  and the feeling of maybe going under ground and seems better when it's clear they are heading back more towards the surface “Rudo...we really should be getting back.”He gasps as he touches a cave wall and some sort of spiders crawl away, like 20 of them but lucky away from him as he backs off, “Its also a little dark in here and we have no light really”

Reva screams as a spider gets on her “get it off get if off!!!” As she screams some not so steady rocks seem to shake a little, and when she bumps into a wall, it doesn't help as the wall is clearly  not safe and she gasps as she falls backwards as it gives away.

Then a  horrible sound, a loud horrible fear inducing sound of creaking and then like one's worse night mare, that weak wall somehow held up this old..old tunnel and...well the ceiling is literary falling now!!

Rudolfo  eyes widen as he stumbles backwards “What is going on!” He starts to panic and then, ok calming breath he can't panic he is a long patrol hare and fearless in danger.

Ping and Pong scream, and that makes it worse as they barely avoid getting hit with some rocks and large stones.

Ewan just spaces out and stands there, ears drooped as he just looks like he is lost and just..well spaced out. A small whimper as he  just freezes where he is, a large stone snaps him into the here and now as he barely avoids it but some falling rock does hit his arm as he coughs, so much dust.

Reva gasps and takes in a lot of breaths and coughs as the cavern fills with dust and sand and it gets pitch black now..”Is every one ok? Are we dead?”

Ping and pong whimper “Its the end of the bally world!”

“We'll sorry..we will NEVER skip a train session again!!”

Finally the rocks stop falling, some dust hangs in the air and it's deathly quiet....there has been a cave in and that tunnel is now. Blocked so no going that way. Another tunnel goes on for who knows how long and there is a couple small openings on the far side of the large cavern but its unclear it its just some small space or a way to another dead end tunnel, or what.

Rudolfo checks on Ping and Pong, as well as the hare maid “Ok ok...every beast just deep breaths..we are alive, any beast hurt?” He walks over to Ewan and a gentle paws on shoulders, a gentle shake “hey ..Ewan”His voice calm and clear, gentle “Ewan..look at me...please say something”

Ewan whimpers and drops to his knees, he looks at his arm  where some blood is and tenses up, he looks around after a moment as his ears droop “End..end...this is bad..ina a cave..way out blocked...no light...light is good..dark is bad...”He is clearly not in the here and now.

Reva calms and looks at Ewan with a frown “Is he ok?”

Pong just  hugs his knees “How about the rest of us, we are all gonna die down here, future hares will be like look cool hare bones..our bones!”

Ping gulps and just frowns”I donta wanna die”

Reva frowns “Is he..broke or something?” Her eyes are adjusting to the dark now “There is..faint light, I think...and we are not gonna die”Wait..”Are we?” She looks at Rudolfo as he is like the only calm one in here.

Rudolfo frowns “I..I don't know”Its ok to not know after all as he tries to calm Ewan and is unsure how “Ya guys please calm..Ewan is he..”He frowns  “He has some after war trauma ok. Its..complicated..” He focus once more on Ewan, how to help, what to do..”Ewan...please...calm..its ok....look at me, focus on me voice...me voice only”

Ewan slowly finds the voice, where..he blinks a few times and whimpers, then shivers as he focus finally on “Private..Rudlofo...”He frowns and lets out a sort of soft whimper before passing out, too much stress.
