Ciocan decided to come see the two guests Lt. Velm brought in." They are from where?"

Velm replies." The hare maid said an otter holt, seems they took her in some seasons ago.The otter with her is just a dibbun and her adopted little brother sur "

Ciocan nods and knocks on the guest room door before slowly opening it.

Kelp is the first to notice and his eyes go wide. " Vonda….Vonda look, look he super super tall!." The otter cub gets closer." You must of listened to your parents and ate all your veggies."

Vonda looks over and up, she blinks and nods " Hello sir."

Velm waves." This is Lord Ciocan, ruler of Salamanstron. " He then excuses himself and slips out to tend to what ever he may need to tend to.

Ciocan smiles at Kelp and chuckles," Hello young one." He looks to Vonda." I hope your stay will be pleasant, Lt. Velm mentioned you might need help."

Kelp sits down with a frown, he decides Vonda can tell him, she is an adult and the otter is not.

Vonda feels the tears."Not unless you can change the past and….bring back my holt, I know they are not my real but they took me in after mom and dad...died when our fishing boat sank. I sort of wandered into the otter holt and they adopted me...and now….now..they are gone now too."

Ciocan frowns at this news." A couple scouts mentioned a small settlement that burned to the ground and signs of vermin. I have yet to know a direction. " But remembering the dream, he had a very bad feeling he would soon find out where the vermin were headed next.

Kelp frowns.' Bad beasts need...need told go far far away. "

Vonda sniffed. " Why...why would bad things happen to good beasts? First my birth parents and then my adopted family."

Ciocan goes to give the hare a gentle hug." I wish I knew sometimes. " He studies her." Who were your birth parents?"

Kelp looks at Ciocan and just how tall he is and grins at an idea...a cool one in his mind.

Vonda tries to remember Jak and Terra Barclay...why?"

Ciocan tilts his head, " I will be right back." He is gone maybe 20 minutes and returns with a slightly old scroll ." I keep records, as do those before me. This...was a couple seasons after a mission .." He frowns, so many lost.He clears his throat and reads." Spring has come but what is normally a happy day is sad. Two hares from the home guard were found washed ashore with their small fishing boat, Jak and Terra Barclay, both Privates will be missed, what is most sad is their daughter was lost at sea….to have one so young lose life, is the safest thing." He looks at her." The child was near 4 seasons old...her name was Vonda Barclay. "

Kelp blinks as he is about to pull on Ciocan's arm." She name Vonda too!." He points to his sister. " Buts her last name is the same as me, .Swiftstreamer."

Vonda starts crying now.."I...I remember a..little " This place seemed so familiar, the beach too as she walked along to get here, just so odd messed up memory, she never understood why this mountain just seemed so familiar, she played in its halls!

Ciocan hugs her and nods." Welcome home, Vonda."

Kelp blinks and taps Ciocan's arm." Hey, can me stay too?"

Vonda smiles, but also frowns slightly. Is this still home? She should be happy but she..isn't.

Ciocan smiles. " Oh course...and your?"

Kelp grins. " I is Kelp." He looks up and smiles. " can you lift me up high? I wanna touch celling."

Vonda wipes her eyes." Kelp…..he likely has very important things ta do."

Ciocan chuckles and goes to lift the otter cub to indeed let the cub touch the ceiling.

Kelp giggles and reaches up and slaps the ceiling, then sticks his tongue out at his sister.

Vonda shakes her head but smiles.

Ciocan places Kelp back on the floor." Dinner is about to start, let me escort you two there."

Kelp grins." Ya...dinner in a mountain, come on Vonda."

Vonda smiles as she goes to follow, but it's only a half smile. A home...it sounded great and this was...her true home, but she didn't feel like it was, something….no someone was missing and could never join her here, a frown forms but she forced a smile and heads on to dinner with the others.

i think it'd be cool if kelp could stay in Salamandastron with vonda as her family (if she decides to stay there).
