LOG:

Elbio was patrolling and checking on the docks and decided to do a small walk near the fish market to see how things were there as some operations had started back up.

Donica was enjoying a little time off for once as she hummed to herself and looked around the town, it was interesting to her and even had it's own small infirmary and herbal shop.

Close by was a rat maid looking very worried, she kept looking over at the hares but had been avoiding them for the most part of the morning but something made her sigh and call over to them "Ex..excuse me, miss hare?" She heads over "I...don't know name...I..your name that is, I need help with something please"

Elbio turns to the shout and decides to go beside Donica in case there was possible trouble starting "Hello..was there something needed here?"

Donica stops, she shrugs to Elbio "Its a rat maid, she doesn't have weapons that I see...she said she needs help.It can't hurt to see wot help, can it?"

The rat maid looks between them and frowns, a deep breath " Please my son, he is just a dibbun...I lost him in a crowd and...please I am worried."

Elbio nods "We can help.We are to help the town and I would like it to be known...us hares are not here to cause ill, we are here to just help."

Donica smiled and the hunt begun."Ok so he could not of gotten too far, right?"

Elbio frowns "Yeah...I was at the abbey a short time, you be surprised how far and how fast a dibbun can go"

Rufus was eating a fish, he stole from the fish market and just having a good day.

His good day would not last as a tiny paw pulled not one but two feathers from his tail! Each feather was then glued to each of his ears, it was a giggleing rat dibbun!

Rufus makes a loud started noise and puffed out "Rufus feather,giveback to Rufus!"

Elbio heard the gull and frowned, he headed the way of the noise quickly.

Donica followed "Oh, wot now is someone hurt?"

The rat dibbun giggled and ran, he ran fast and onto a ship that was being fixed,he looked around and finds the mast and up...up..up he climbs!

Rufus flies to a post and puffs out "Rufus just want good day, day is no good for Rufus, Rufus get pain, Rufus get feathers stolen"

Elbio frowns as he watches the little rat." OK...ideas?."

The little rat dibbun sticks out his tongue and goes higher on the mast"Ha ha...me go up up..up is fun!"

Donica shakes her head." Up is not fun you could fall." p

Rufus just watches from the post muttering about his feather"Rufus feather...Rufus needa feather back"

A group of hares arrives, moving up onto the docks, three runners and two fighters, all wearing Home Guard uniforms, it is Captain Veronica's squad and walking along behind the runners but ahead of the fighters is General Quinten. Trailing along behind the escort are a few other hares, recruits and a couple of privates pulling three carts full of supplies for the village. It appears to be a mix of building material and food stuff and Quinten pauses to look around the docks and see who if anyone he can see.

Elbio sighs. He is careful and prooves to be a very good climber as he gets to the dibbun.He reaches out a paw." Come...here please." IT..fairly high on this mast.

The dibbun rat just snorts and goes to the top, above the basket.The two feathers glued to his ears "No....I likes up..I a hare.." He stands up and eeeks loudly as he just about falls and eyes wide as he sees just how high he is and clings onto the basket top now."Get me down.....eeeek....no wants up here no mores"

Elbio gasps and frowns, then he notices the party of hares by whats fixed of the docks.He seems trying to decide which way to go, stay here or tell the others.

Donica does head over to the hares." Stay there you two! "

Elbio frowns,he then focuses on the dibbun,high places don't bother him so he is fine, his concern is the dibbun right now."Hold on......"

Rufus just flaps up to where the hare and are "You trya be birds or something?"

This does not help as the rat dibbun looks wide eyed at the seagull and screams slapping at it and likely slapping Elbio too"Monster...eeek gonna eat me!"

Quinten stops walking and looks over toward all the excitement and shakes his head in amusement, ears perking upright, "Hello Donica, what is happening here?"

Donica speaks. " A rat maid asked us to find a lost dibbun, we found him trying to climb the mast of a ship that is being repaired." Lucky the mast is in good shape.

"OI! RUFUS!" Terrence is hurtling down the dock, the source of the scream unknown to the sergeant. The presence of the General is completely ignored as the hare's mind races trying to figure out what the gull is doing - he can't make out anything beyond the bird up above. He comes to a hard stop when he realizes /who/ is nearby, and he snaps to a salute. "General, sah!" The healer's words are noted, even if the Sergeant still stands at attention

Elbio does get slapped as he shakes his head and carefully climbs higher and goes to pry the dibbun off the mast best he can..." Grab ahold of me please...then we can go down."

Rufus backs up, he looks at Terrence and at first, it looks like he is gonna dive bomb him, he lands by the hare.."Hello bunny..how is bunny?"

The dibbun sniffs and seems glad the bird is gone.He shakes his head and tries to hold on but then clings to Eblio.The feathers still stuck to each ear as he hides his face in the hare's tunic,not liking just how high this is.

Quinten just watches the dibbun up the mast and Elbio and the excitable Rufus and shakes his head in amusement, then turns back to Donica but pauses to return Terrence's salute, "At ease Terrence, no need to be so formal here in town," he points at the supply carts, "I bring more supplies from the mountain and wanted to see how things are going." He smiled around, "I can see you have your hands full, it is good for us to be more involved with the town, so I wanted to see it, Veronica would have me stay home and not venture out, she finally agreed to only bring a small patrol, and the patrol no doubt lurking out of sight."

Captain Veronica turns smoothly and salutes the general, "I am sure Lieutenant Aesc's patrol is just on their regular route sah, not at all following us,"

Quinten just grins and smiles, "See what I mean."

Elbio slowly gets down, dibbun in tow and back to the docks,.." Ok now we go find your Mother." Then he sees the General and quickly salutes.

Donica smiles as the dibbun is safe now." His mother is likely at the fish market still, the village has started to fix it up some.

The mother is at the fish market looking around but then starts to head to where the hares and her son are.

Relaxing Terrence finally spots Elbio climbing down"Ah" He sees the rat and then the mother and puts two and two together"To be frank,sah I was worried it was some sort of attack." With a crisis averted ,the Sargeant isn't fully sure of his place; the Ensign should be the one to give the General and Captain details.

The dibbun doesn't let go till he sees he is on the ground again and looks at Quinten and the others, well in his mind he is a hare...he has hare ears(gull feathers) and sort of salutes also,a giggle

Quinten returns Elbio's salute and smiles softly at everyone, "Well it seems you have everything in hand, please carry on with your days whilst I talk to the Ensign."

Elbio nods to the general." The docks are almost done sur, we repaired some roofs and the Habor Master building. We only had some minor issues that was taken care of and everyone had done very well....well almost everyone."

Donica frowns a little but decides to let others explain as she goes to get the dibbuns mother.

The semi-dismissal given, Terrence leaves the two officers to it and makes his way over to inspect the supply cart. He salutes to the captain, saying, "Sah, if I may - do you have a list of what you brought that I could see? I can fetch the inventory lists of what we have, if needed."

The dibbun stands a little off to the side and looks ready to try and pluck another feather from Rufus, but after a loud caw from the bird he hides behind Elbio.

Veronica returns Terrence's salute, "When are you going to let the General promote you Sergeant, you can't stay sarge for much longer with how efficent you are being," the black furred hare reaches into her bag and offers Terrence a sheath of papers, "Inventories of everything we brought, food for the village, building material and furniture for the harbour master building as we are taking it over as a permanent hare station."

Quinten meanwhile settles onto a barrel, because he just walked from the mountain and he is not as young as he used to be, "Oh? Who has not been almost everyone? If someone has been causing you trouble I'd like to know about it. Do you think the harbour master building will be ready for the new permanent patrol soon?" He can see the little rat and smiles at them, "And who is this youngster? I do not believe we have met."

Elbio speaks." Well...there was Sargeant Zolomon sur, he's back at the mountain now. " He hmms ." As for the Habor Master building, I say soon it's cleaned out, painted and we even have a couple chairs in thar. So maybe a week or less perhaps it could be ready sur." The ensign has done a lot, like the docks over 3/4 built now.

The rat's mother is found and quickly makes her way over to the group, she seems a little worried at this many hares but then relaxes a little deciding they are not here to harm her or anyone else.

Donica walks back and speaks." No worries miss..the hares are here to help the village."

Mildly taken by surprise by the captain's words, Terrence bows his head. "Eh, thank you sah - but to be honest I don't think Cpt. Gregorian would evah forgive me fo'h abandoning him!" He takes the documents, thumbing through them to briefly check over things. "Seems we should lack nothing, fo'hnow. Thank you, again. As fo'h the building, it'll be good to have place safe fo'h patrol hares to bunk down in the area, that's fo'h certain."

The dibbun smiles "Me is chip..."He sees hi mom and frowns a little but gets to where he can be seen.

Rufus puffs up and flies back to his little post on the docks but stays nearby.

Captain Veronica shakes her head, "Being promoted is not abandoning anyone youngster, Gregorian would never hold you back if your name comes up for promotion and it has been bandied around back at the mountain. You are a good hare Terrence, but shoo, get on and sort those supplies, I need to get back to my job, keeping an eye on the General. He's a tempting target," she then moves on to resume her patrol around the docks keeping an eye on everyone.

Quinten frowns, "I see, so that is why he is back, I shall have to speak to him when I return to my office, as for you Elbio, please be in Lord Ciocan's office on Thursday, at Noon-sharpish. His Lordship is expecting you." Quinten then reaches out a hand to touch one of those feathers, "I see you have very big and strong ears Chip, so what are you doing hanging out on the docks? It is not a good place for little ones." -

Of course, sah. Thank you, really." Point taken, Terrence continues his inspection of the cart. He calls a private over to help him move it towards the harbor master's house. Donica seems to be handling the rats well, so there's not much for him to worry about! A very welcome change from what was the norm for most of the mission.

Elbio nods and salues." Oh course sur I will be thar."

Donica walks back over to the others now to see if she is needed.
Chip smiles "Wanted to see all the hares...."He points to the feathers he has on each ear"See...they hare ears, me a hare now...and high up give better view of all de hares.." Of course he is likely to get no desert tonight as the mother has paws on hip and so the dibbun is walked off, some arguing and a lecture can be heard as they head off to where they live.

Quinten smiles after the little one and shakes his head in amusement, "Ah dibbuns, well Elbio, it sounds like everything is in hand. How has Terrence been whilst working under you? Showing his usual initiative and skill I hope?" His eyes follow the other hare, "And Miss Donica, how have you been getting along with this assignment? I hope Elbio has been treating you all fairly?"

Donica nods.," Ensign Elbio has sur, hes been nice. I have helped with any healing needs, luckly not too many..and helped with some repairs and cleaning."

The sergeant for his part now is on the far end of the docks going about his daily routines, though Terrence should return shortly.
Elbio looks at Terrence and back to Quinten." Sargeant Terrence has been very helpful and has handled extra work very well, a promotion would be good for him I think."

Quinten nods his head, "I think he worries about being promoted away from Greg's squad, but moving up to Lieutenant wouldn't neccessarily mean a move away from Gregorian's squad. I will think on it some more and I will see you in Lord Ciocan's office. Now I best be making my way back to the mountain or Veronica will do that thing where she glares at my ears furiously." He salutes, "See you all soon and keep up the good work."

Terrence had come within ear shot to catch the last parts about him. Despite feeling mild embarrassment he continues with his duties for the rest of the day.

The sergeant had kept his distance for some time, but now Terrence returns. "Daresay things should be done soon here."

Elbio nods." Yes they should be done soon, or least I hope so."

Donica speaks." It should be done by then sur, things are going well."

"Indeed." Terrence can't fully hide the eagerness he's felt to return to the mountain and be personally done with Halyard for the time being. "I'm just glad things are going smoothly fo'h us, fianlly."

Elbio says, "smoothy since...sorry if sounding rude here, Zolomon is off the mission.Hopefully he...well gets sense ack"

Donica frowns. " He did cause trouble with some locals, still worry some on that in fact"

With a sigh Terrence waves a paw. "Regardless now, Sergeant Anderson is no longah here and whatevah his problems are no longah ou'hs. Except fo'h that stoat he'd had trouble with. Part of me's worried the vermin will turn up and cause mischief before long..."

Elbio says, "Let's hope not. but if it happens we can deal with it..I rather not have to report any injuries due to a fight."

Donica says, "We could let who ever is staying at the base know about it. just in case"

"At least that wouldn't injuries because of an accident." Terrence laughs, shaking his head. "Little less embarrassing to explain to the hares at home than to say 'I nailed my paw to a board', eh?" He sobers up then, the seriousness of the the other's worry spreading. "Daresay they all know. If I'm left here I'll certainly make sure every hare is on the lookout - I'm not so much worried fo'h an open confrontation as any hare could take the creature in a fight, but what they can do in the dark..."

Elbio says, "YEah an attack at night wouldn't be good, but things have been quiet, couse quiet isnt always good."

"Not good at all sah, not good at all." Terrence ponders for a moment the picket guards nearby, and adds, "If they do thei'h job right, though, they should be fine no mattah what the vermin throw at us."

Elbio nods." True and a base here will hopefully help some on any other worries, and maybe even some more of the village seeing us hares as helpful,not a threat."

Terrence can't shake the feeling it won't be so easy. "So they say, and so I hope. We should build a propah fort as soon as we're able, o'h build walls around the harbah mastahs house, but that's fo'h latah I'd say. Much latah.

Elbio asks, "Walls around it? Why?" He is curious of this." And docks likely are best for a fort I think, most trouble might come from the sea. any On land would likely be noticed I would think buy patrols on the shores be good for that. "

"To have a protected courtyard and open area fo'h the patrol to stage things," Terrence shrugs, "So say there's trouble in the village we can safely assemble the hares without worry of the meting attacked. Plus the walls would be an easy lookout post."

Elbio says, "suppose would be good then. I am gonna try and keep updated on whats happening here and the western shores while I am at Redwall and keep his Lordship up to date on the abbey"

Terrence dips his head. "Of course, sah. Not sure how easy it will be, though - we've nevah had a good line of communication with the abbey, least not since the main rout of travel from Mossflowah's been the rivah."

Elbio says, "Maybe..the gull? And I am thinking news sent like every summer and winter unless it's major important "

"Perhaps the gull could work." Terrence says, "Though if I recall correctly the 67th regiment is still active in those woods, at least somewhat. Maybe a runnah from there could do the job, and avoid the rivah all togethah."

Elbio shrugs." I am sure it can be figured out if needed, how close is the 67?"

The sergeant has to think about that for a moment before finally answering, "Frankly, sah, I have not a bleedin' clue. I've nevah been to Mossflowah myself, though..." Terrence's face brightens as he remembers. "Pvt. Dom used to actually be /in/ the 67ht before being transferred back here, if I recall correctly. He'd probably know bettah than me."

Elbio nods " I can ask, I am guessing a small group of hares, maybe usefull if anything tries to harm the abbey. They did have an issue with rats."

'The abbey has had many an issue" Theres a graveness in his voice"And the 67th have been lets say crippled fo'h as I can tell. Anyway sah I must return to my duties. Be seeing you!"

Elbio waves and heads on to do his own needed duties.
