One Very Lucky Night

Gorvenalus- Recorder of Redwall

Cicilia- evil  healer/ seer vixen

Archer- evil fox

Xavier- GUOSIM Log-A-log

Blade- GUOSIM warrior

Zeek- GUOSIM cook

Velm-  LP Healer and Lt.

Some spoofed shrews,foxes and a novice

Log:

Xavier was careful as he slipped into and glanced around.Two shrew warriors with slings beside him.

The camp was quiet and clear, no vermin or woodlander in sight.

Zeek stayed close." So...they didn't stay long, where is everybeast?"

Xavier shrugged. " PIng...Pong...check all hits, the whole main building...me and Zeek will check storage. "

The chieftain gets a salute and the two are off to check all mentioned.

Zeek frowns. " Don't like it Log-A-log..could be a trap. "

Xavier frowned, he was glad the camp was clear of vermin, but shrews also." All clear...ok you two stay, get the camp watched, Zeek come with me."

Zeek speaks." Oswald is at Ferravale with Leigh..should we get him?"

Xavier shakes his head as they walk carefully." No...sides.." He points to tracks and follows, he hmmms.." Along river and…" He stops." South…."

Not too far away is a lone fox, who waits till they pass and then rushes in to stab them!

Zeek is quick and sidesteps. He whirls a pebble at the fox.

Xavier gasps and barely avoids losing his head,he gulps as the hood of his claok is horribly sliced. He narrows his eyes and goes to flick a dagger he borrowed at the fox as he runs past.

By sheer luck as the fox spins around  when the stone hits his shoulder. The dagger sinks into his,throat and he falls to the ground dead.

Zeek blinks and chuckles." One less fox ha...you don't mess with GUOSIM!"

Xavier kicks the fox to make sure it's dead and steals its cutlass. " Let's find the others."

=== A short time later just north of the abbey.====

Anil was exploring, learning to fly and ended up fluttering down to the gates and...decided to explore the road.

Not the best idea as foxes were nearby, only 3 not counting the seer. On a long rope 3 shrews being lead down the road.

Blade may have his paws tied but they should of clapped his muzzle shut." Ya slimes..ya pile of…...ya….."

The other two shrews frowned, one a simple boat maker and another a maid,  learning healing and very fearful of the foxes." Where are we going?"

Krisha comes out calling back." Its fine I see him..Anil get back here right now.!" Yeah not using Sparra langage,grumpy badger Mother.

Archer had been close by, longbow drawn and fired at the badger.

Xavier is walking along the road at a good pace  muttering about  vermin pests.

Zeek follows best he can." Slow down….please."

The foxes with Cicilia bump into her as she stops." The...vision comes..true"

Anil turns and frowns as he jumps back at a noise,  eyes wide...he looks scared.

Krisha walks towards him and suddenly staggered backwards,  she looks down,at the arrow that stuck her in the chest and falls backwards bumping into the  wall right by the gate and sort of sitting,  a groan as she seems to close her eyes, briefly just fainting. A novice screams who came to see what was going on.

Velm is with the shrews Zeek and Xavier." Are we sure they got this…" HIs ears perk and he bolts ahead at the scream.

Blade looks around and glares..  Let me loose furbags!"

Xavier raced towards the scream, sees Krisha and assumes the worse, a quick scan..oh there is the fox..he charges, eyes blood red." LOG A LOG A LOG A LOG!"

Zeek quickly kills one other fox, and gets the three captive shrews free.

Anil whimpers." Badworms,badworms!!" He just shivers and quickly races to the gates.

Velm goes pale." NO!" He gets to Krisha side not expecting to find a pulse.

Krisha opens her eyes and grunts,some pain and she is..alive!? She looks at the arrow and shifts to sit up.The arrow is buried deep into a thick book,on top of the book is some sort of stuffed toy...the arrow tip can be felt on the back on the book.The badger will need to fix the robes." V...Velm.."

A lot happens in a short few moments  thanks to Blade and also most likely the new Log-A-log.  Two foxes die quickly.

Cicilia suddenly gets a frown and drops her staff and goes to run.

Xavier narrows his eyes. He gets his father's blade, his blade now from one of the dead foxes.He kisses the blade and says something and charges after the vixen.

Blade follows Xavier,mad shrew here vermin beware.

Zeek decides to check on Krisha and Anil." She's alive?..How?"

Velm gently moves the arrow and frowns,." Sorry Mother Krisha...this may take some..work.." He helps her stand to go inside, he just hopes he others get inside.

Abbey beast crowd around as oddly they go to the library.

Gorvenalus looks up, at first worry and then surprise as he checks Krisha.." Oh.." He frowns.." Help me Velm, get her to a chair and get a pair of scissors.

Krisha sits in the chair, still shaking a little from what could of well been a whole lot worse.

Velm helps and gets the scissors and still looks worried.

Gorvenalus cuts enough to lift the stuffed toy and book, he manages to  get break the arrow shaft and push it out the back book cover and pull the rest out. " least a book can be..fixed from this." He looks at Krisha." If this was not where it was, you would of been in the dark forest now, the arrow would of went into your heart."

The book is laid aside, it's a thick cook book!

Krisha frowns a bit, she is glad for the book, she was going to look up something and stuck it in in her front pocket when she needed to find Anil. She is tried from this you could of died and nods, she ends up just falling asleep in the chair, it is soft and cozy and it's been a long day.

Velm checks on her." Rest will do the lass good." He sees the book and his ears droop." By,the seasons...those vermin ruined a cook book, the scum….c...can you really save the book Brother Gorvenalus?"

Blade enters quickly. " We need a healer, our new Log-A-log passed out."

In the Great Hall is Zeek and 4 other shrews beside the unconscious Xavier. Tight in his paw is his father's raciper still.

Zeek speaks." He killed de vixen...ummm...beheaded her and wanted to keep her head….but ummm.." He shrugs. "The champion threw it in a ditch...we got Xavier...mean Log-A-log  inside and he passed out."

Blade speaks." He was in bloodwrath…"

Gorvenalus  let's the hare  check on the shrew leader.

Velm checks him over. " Ever been in it before?"

Xavier is not hurt much  just a cut on his snout, a small gash to the lower arm but not serious,2 stitches maybe.

Zeek frowns."Likely not."

Blade looks over." He ok?"

Velm makes sure the small gash is tended  to and bandaged, a paste of herbs on the snout and carry him to the infirm." He will need rest a couple days, he will be ok just bloodwrath takes a LOTout of one, for sure the first time it happens and that's for anyone, even a badger can pass out from it the first time. "

Gorvenalus nods to the rest of the shrews."Let me get you a meal from the kitchens,then a guest room."

The rest of the night is quiet and the threat of vermin gone.  All is well and peaceful once more like it should be.
