At The Abbey, Only to Be Lectured!- GUOSIM Log

Who:

Xavier- son of Log-A-log

Krisha- Badger Mother

Caleb- Mouse at Redwall

LOG:

Xavier quietly slips into the abbey gate,  after a slight disagreement he hands over his dagger and staff and goes on inside the abbey. He makes his way to the main building and goes to sit in Cavern Hole.

Krisha has helped move some things into the Great Hall for later on when the weather vane is placed back onto the roof.She sees Xavier and makes her way over to him. " I thought the GUOSIM went home." She says as she sits in a chair she uses .

Xavier glaces at the badger." Ummm yeah, they are home." He says quietly " I just…" He fiddles with a knapsack on his lap.

" You just what Xavier?" Krisha asks, a small frown." Do they know you're here? Did the GUOSIM need anything?"

Xavier shakes his head no" And they do not need ta know either ok. I left ok...so wot...like anyone cares. "

Krisha frowns at this." You ran away from home?" She is guessing she is right, but maybe it's something else.She waits on a reply.

Xavier crosses his arms over his chest,"Yeah….so? Like my father cares, he cares about telling me what ta do or not do, and this and that leader skills ye need..blah already!"

Krisha shakes her head." Your father is likely worried sick about you. We need to let him know you're here and are safe. A wildcat that took my son is out there somewhere and who knows what he has been doing or where he is now."

Xavier rolls his eyes. " Likely long gone,  he would have done something by now, likely the one  that stole father's log boat. I can care fer me self .I got here safe and no issues. " He stands and heads to the door. " I'm  outta here."

Krisha takes a deep breath and let's him walk past her, then spins around to grab him by the back of his tunic " Your not going anywhere young man"

Xavier kicks and yells "Let go me ya great furry annoyance!"

Krisha glares at the shrew and sits him in a chair." Excuse me?" She is getting angry" You do not just walk off or  be rude to adults,or anyone for that matter. Running away is not a good thing.Whats it  solve? It also worries loved ones,  what if you or captured by vermin,hurt or worse killed? What would  your father think then?"

Xavier groans, a lecture why a lecture.He listens as she seems to go on and on,  he shrugs.

Krisha taps a footpaw, " You're not answering me. Are you listening?"

Xavier snorts. " Ya sound like me father…" He sasses " Ya listening Xavier…..aye"

Krisha takes a deep breath and exhales." You wanna stay here, you're gonna listen to me and Abbot Benar.  Now here soon they are getting the weather vane back onto the roof."

Xavier kind of looks interested. " How..gonna grow wings and fly like birds?" He smirks.

Krisha looks ready to slap him.But she manages to calm down." No…"

Xavier sighs a quiet" Sorry" He then asks"Ummm….can I help?"

Krisha taps her footpaw again. " I'll  leave that up to Benar.He does need an extra beast."

Xavier nods. " Heights don't bother me...so can I ask?"

Krisha sighs,  "Fine...but we both go and your to listen to the Abbot and not cause any trouble, or bother any sparrow or anyone else..understand?"

Xavier nods, he then goes with her to ask the Abbot. Surprisingly he is able to join, after promising to listen and be careful and he does show he is a good climber.

=Short while later=

Xavier slips into Great Hall and stands by the fire to warm up.He had been outside and still has his hood up.

Caleb would slowly be walking into Great Hall, having gone on a leaning rampage today. He takes a seat near the fireplace and upon seeing Xavier gives a small wave. The mouse has a thicker cloak on today.

Xavier looks over at movement beside him and nods,  he looks around and takes his hood off showing the colorful headband he has.

Caleb notices  the headband first and taking out his notepad he writes and shows Xavier" Your headband looks familiar, as do you have we meet before?"

Xavier sighs." I..I was at de feast with me father and couple other shrews"

Caleb writes " Are you ok? Want to talk about it?You don't  have to...want some tea or anything?"

Xavier shrugs. " Sure...tea be fine." He is a bit upset but not grumpy, not sad...iin between?

Caleb takes a second to warm up before heading to the kitchen and returning moments later carrying a tray with a teapot along with two cups of piping hot mint tea that he brewed himself. Learning from his own father how to make tea. He sits a cup by Xavier and takes one for himself, sipping carefully from it.

Xavier gets his tea and drinks a little, quiet a while before finally speaking" I...I ran away from home." He is unsure why he let it be known, but he did.

Caleb takes a moment to mull over this and sip his tea beforeing waiting for him to go on.

Xavier sighs,  he shrugs." I don't know...not that father cares, he might  look for me...just he is on and on , a leader does this or this, not that or that and ya need these skills and why don't  I ever listen. "

Caleb nods a little bit, seeming to understand somewhat.``I may become leader of the Defenders….I know how ot feels to have  that pressure. But unlike you I care somewhat.  You wish to not be a leader."

Xavier frowns, " But one day I will have ta...I am son of Log-A-log..I am next leader of the GUOSIM. But tis not like anything is gonna happen to him anytime soon, I mean if he was old...yeah I would worry  but he is not old."

Caleb takes a moment to finish his first mug of tea and pours another.He writes " I know you think he is strict. But he cares. I just think  Log-A-log  doesn't know how to show it."

Xavier frowns, " He is also over protective and my  mother died in childbirth  I..never knew her and father refuses to talk about her."

Caleb says. " I know the same problem.  My parents never spoke of my grandparents.  But as I said,  I'm sure father cares...just in his own way."

Xavier nods, " Still gonna stay here, least for now…"

Caleb nods and smiles" Always welcome at Redwall Xavier"

Xavier smiles a little" Thanks." He will relax a little and then go help the abbey beasts he promised to help today.
