Sloveing A Mystery-Redwall Abbey

Who:

Gorvenalus- Redwall Recoirder

Velm- LP Healer and Lt

Caleb- Returned mouse,adopted son of Krisha and Xander

LOG:

Gorvenalus is sitting at a table, reading and going through abbey recorder logs quietly.

Caleb would come into the room, then go up to Gorvenalus and tap him gently on the shoulder.

Velm makes his way inside the room, upon seeing the beaver he walks over with a drawing of some sort, "Hallo Brother Gorvenalus, quik question...this wildcat look famialr..Patch mentioned he was in that tavern bout couple weeks ago. "

Gorvenalus blinks adjusting his glasses, he turns to see Caleb and smiles " Caleb lad...not seen you in a while." where

Caleb nods and was about to write something down when Velm started to speak. He stands aside and lets the hare do his talking before he speaks to the Beaver.

Velm glaces at the mouse not knowing who it is, not meet him yet. The drawing is Zoltar though he has a scar now.

Gorvenalus looks at the drawing " I can try and see...if he looks familiar " A frown as he studies the drawing," Is the scar...recent or was that known?"

Velm folds his arms over his chest "Seemed recent from the chat we had, he also showed the picture to Mother Krisha. Said when the wildcat was asked about de scar he quickly left and ran off,guards didn't see where and he mentioned 2 believes he needed supplies for but left with no supplies at all."

Gorvenalus frowns " Zoltar....he must of been somewhere close when the blizzard hit..." He seems to think and gasps. "OHhhhh....few days after...oh, I know who gave him the scar. I am sure of it. He was also the one mentioned that caused trouble for a couple days..he disappeared or so thought"

Velm frowns "Saddlly disappeared now, John is on the lookout in case he is seen....and that other cat too, my guess they work together or just two different things but, don't think so"

Caleb would just be standing by, watching the two speak as he wonders how he can help.

Gorvenalus frowns " No...not two things, Xander did that to him..that's where Zoltar got his scar. Zoltar is the friend Esmeray mentioned.."

The mouse seems to freeze up upon hearing Xander's name, whimpering somewhat.

Velm ears go back a little he then mutters to himself leaving the drawing on the table "Seems to be...."He looks at Caleb and frowns a little "You..ok lad?"

Gorvenalus speaks " Xander adopted Caleb..."

Caleb takes a moment to write in his notepad. Velm would see that he doesn't speak or perhaps can't. "Xander was my adoptive father... I was traveling when he died so... I didn't get to say goodbye."

Velm nods "I am..sorry lad. John is out there looking for Oz and the one who has him"He looks at the drawing "Well, we know who killed Xander now..."

Caleb nods and writes some more. "I'm glad he's not around then... I'm afraid I may... do something drastic if he were."

Gorvenalus says, "Wish it had been known sooner but yes this is very likely the beast,...quicky disappearing...recent scar, hopely John finds them. " He turns to Caleb, " That wildcat is dangerous . But we have yet to have news of where he and his friend his"

Velm sits down "Maybe I should jolly well go out, let's hope the villian not gotten to far in all the snow"

Caleb shakes his head and holds out another note to the two. "He may be dangerous... but I learned from a badger. Along with the training I received from the Champion of Redwall... I just want justice for my father's death. But I won't seek it unless he attacks the Abbey. I don't wish to break Father Benar's rules."

Gorvenalus reads it and nods " Trust me if Zoltar does return to attack, I am sure you can help but staying here is best." p

Velm reads the note "Training from a badger...and champion, now that is good skills ta learn lad but yes we have no clue where the cat or his friend went,but we keep an eye out for both"

Caleb nods and writes once more before putting his things away. "I don't plan to leave again... my mother may perish if I were to leave her side. I don't want that... I wanna see her healthy."

Velm speaks now, "Yes Krisha, took Xander's death very hard..she stayed in her room,  refusing to eat or drink, even now she is eating very little. She is still pretty weak, needs time to recover and...hate ta say it, watched closely.Seen beast who lost loved ones..dont always want to get better"He adds "She did seem to eat more today than she usually does, so someone bally well helped"

Gorvenalus says, "I should check on her later"

Caleb nods. "I was the one who got her to eat. She started to eat after she saw me the other day. I'll be staying by her side for a few days."

Velm nods" pose nods "Good lad,help her recover, its likely good you came back when you bally well did"

Gorvenalus says, "Krisha needs to know she is still needed, still cared about, a reason to still go on"

"Well of course she's still needed. She's my mother after all... I'll always be here for her." He wrings his hands together, whimpering somewhat since he was worried about her.

Velm nods"And the dibbuns need her too. I am sure she will get better now , with your help lad"He offers a smile.

Gorvenalus says, "She will, and we can help her remember happy times, not any sad oness"

Caleb smiles, having remembered the dibbuns during his travels. He mostly just wanted her to get better was all.

Velm nods "Right, well I am gonna go up to the walltops...patrol a bit before bed...night you two"And he is off

Gorvenalus waves to the hare, he smiles a bit at Caleb" That is Lt. Velm, a healer in the Long Patrol. When that blizzard hit the area he came here. Looking for some answers about his past, he did get his answers and decided to stay till Spring. That's when Elbio comes back,Elbio is going to be our Residential Redwall Long Patrol Hare.

Caleb nods as he waves to Velm and writes to the beaver"Guess I miss a lot, I am glad mother is still here, what else have I missed?"

Governalus nods "Well the storm, also that Zoltar. He was at Brock Hall when Me, Krisha, Xander, and Oz, and 4 novices spent a week and a half there, the wildcat showed up the last couple of days hoping to take BrockHall..seemed he lost interest. He threatened everyone, I got him to leave with me and Xander got the rest back to the abbey to get the Champion, I was only captive to the wildcat a few hours, he..sort of got lost in the woods"He chuckled a little, then a frown"We thought he left..I guess he didn't leave, he also didn't have that scar then either and this was a few days before the storm hit"

Caleb listens and writes "Did he say why he was around..Zoltarthat is"

Gorvenalus shakes his head "No, he had a couple of ferrets with him..don't have them now it seems"Further proof it seems Zoltaristhebeastwho killed his friend.

"Mother told me of them. The two ferrets were found dead with father's body and that my little brother Oz was taken. Again I am sorry for being away, I am sorry I was missing for so long if I was here maybe..."He drops the pad and stops writing, it is clear he is very upset.

Gorvenalus goes to lay a paw on his shoulder "    and you could have easily been taken or killed. It was very much an ambush. Xander did not just fight for no reason he was studying to be a novice, he likely would have been a Brother in the order come Summer.

Caleb has decided to stop writing all together, he can't put words to paper. He just wants his father back. He collapses agasit Gorvenalus and is not able to stop crying.

Gorvenalus frowns and hugs the mouse gently. "Xander was tricked, how he got  a blade I don't know either way he gave Zoltar something to remember him by with that scar, Xander fought Zoltar, he fought to protect Oz I am sure of it"

Caleb calms finally and gets the pad to write "I am gonna check on mother"He walks off.

Giorvenalus waves "My door is always open if you need to see me" He leans back and sighs, then stands and heads out and carefully up to the wall top.

Velm is here, he nods "How is the mouse lad?"

Gorvenalus sighs "Worried for his mother, he misses his father badly. "He shakes his head "This all adds up..Zoltar and the ferrets..Zoltar didn't have a scar when he treated me and Xander too at Brockhall and the cat had ferrets with him...ferrets found by Xander, and Zoltar showing up with a fresh scar just a mere 2-3 days after Xander's death.....not just some oh it just so similar type thing, Zoltar killed our friend, and I am fairly sure he has poor Oz. And Esmeray is likely helping"

Velm nods, he makes a fist "If I see either cat, they will die trust me."He is serious too. Very serious.

Gorvenalus nods and decides to stay with the hare a little while before he heads to bed for the night.
