A Cry In The MIddle Of The Night

Who:

Ciana- Dibbun Hare

Ciocn-Badger Lord

Koda- LP Hare and helper in Home Guard

Keifer-Blind Healer Hare,Private in LP

Ciana had wandered away from the others as one of the dibbuns, some squirrel, was being mean so she sliped into the hallway and now was totally lost and it was dark and in the middle of the night so she did the one thing she could think of...find a corner and cry loudly.   

Keifer frowns as he was on his way up the steps, his ears flatten "Why is a beast crying, it's like in the middle of the night, can't a beast like sleep" Ok he was moody and likely should be asleep himself.   

Koda looked out and saw the dibbun hare and edged towards her "Hallo..."He spoke to Keifer "She isn't from here, maybe she is one of the Redwall dibbuns."   

Ciana takes one look and screams, running from the two hares, she finds a door and pushes it open as it was open a small crack and looks around for a place to hide.   

This happens to be someone's room and they wake up and sit up rubbing thier eyes, scan the room and find the small hare,"Wot...is"Ciocan's rumbling voice asks as he lights his oil lamp and shines a light near the young hare and slowly stands up,he then sits the lamp back down.
   
Keifer frowns, "Ok where did she go...wait up....ok hopefully not the crater, last thing we need to report is someone falling"
   
Koda follows Ciana and stops, he frowns "Ummm....thats his Lordship's room, wot..wot do we do now?"   

Ciana eyes widen, gee he is super super tall as she backs away and then whimpers a little.Its dark so he is scary right now.   

Ciocan frowns but does his best to get more on her level. He reaches out to pick her up if she will allow and speaks softly"Its ok. I won't harm you, I like dibbuns...but why are you here and not with the others little one?"   

Keifer frowns "Oh great, yes we are doomed...week or two of chores for allowing her to get there...I saw nothing your on ya own bye"He leaves,he is going to bed...good luck Koda.   

Koda calls out "But your blind you can't see anyways...."He frowns and walks slowly to the Badger Lord's door and peeks inside, a soft clearing of his throat "H..Hallo?"   

Ciana frowns and then gasps as she hears Koda and helps Ciocan by rushing into his arms and shivering a little.
   
The badger slowly picks her up, slowly stands from where he was kneeling as he keeps a hold of Ciana and looks to the doorway "Enter..."He smiles at the dibbun"Its ok,he is a friiend and so am I,my name is Ciocan and this is my mountain, and you are?"   

Koda slips in, a quick salute and he walks closer "I am...sorry your Lordship, she was in the hallway and me and Keifer"Yeah sorry to you too Keifer,Ha "Sort of scared her and he went to his room and left me 'ere to...get her out, but I failed...sorry"   

Ciana looks around and peers at the hare, she is so high up but smiles "Me is Ciana...." She looks at the hare and tilts her head.   

Ciocan smiles "A nice name, and the hare is Koda, he helps my friend Quinten around the mountain...as for Keifer....welll"He is unsure what to say but chuckles softly."No one here will harm you little Ciana, your safe and soon will go home to the abbey, or mossflower"
   
Koda waves and stays inside the room.He is not sure of all these dibbuns and will likely try and stay clear of them if he can.   

Ciana frowns, she looks down as she starts to cry again...."I notta lives at abbey....or woods....badbeasts make daddy deaded..."She has heard it enough and has decided to accpet the turth,she is an orphan.   

The Badger Lord frowns and looks to the door, then decides to calm the dibbun himself, it's only one dibbun as he sighs" It's ok....I bet you can live at the abbey, the Badger Mother would like you I am sure and your have the other dibbuns to play with. The bad beasts are all gone now..." He hums softly to the dibbun.   

Koda watches and speaks softly "Should I...get someone sur?"   

Ciana yawns and sniffs, she lays her head on the badger's chest and starts to fall asleep.   

Ciocan speaks, "No need to Koda"He says softly as he rocks the small dibbun and hums a little, he smiles as he starts to head out of his room "I can get her back to the others, go ahead and get back to sleep also Koda as they likely will need help with breakfast"
   
Koda nods and salutes the badger and heads on back to his room.   

Ciana ends up falling asleep in the badger's arms, she feels safe now and her sleep is peaceful looking.   

Ciocan walks quietly down a side tunnel and to where the dibbuns are and quietly finds a place to lay Ciana carefully and slowly to a bed and tucks her in before quiety sliping out and on back to his own room, it's still about 3 hours till breakfast time, so he can catch a little bit more sleep.
