Keldorn's Choice-Redwall Log

==The first part I got  off logger as is important to understand  what the Abbot was told later on  as got Benar and Matilda on briefly...and here is log ===

WHO:

Benar-Abbot of Redwall

Matilda-Champion of Redwall

Krisha-Badger Mother

Keldorn- Novice, then later on former Novice

Mack-Visiting Hedgehog warrior/cook

LOG:

Keldorn is eating a late lunch and seemed in some deep thought maybe he siped some water and had most of a bowl of soup gone.

Krisha sits by the shrew and offers a smile "You seem to be doing a lot of thinking lately Keldon, everything ok?"

Keldorn smiles "Greetings Mother Krisha I was just thinking of going to Halyard to, to be with my daughter for she is there now."

Mack walks in "Halyard be a fairly long trip, BeeN there many seasons ago...its an ok place, some parts not so good..other parts of the place is ok"

Krisha says, "Well it would be up to you Keldorn, not anyone else but It be good to decide soon as winter won't be fun travel""

Keldorn nods "I have traveled in snow before though if it comes it will not brother me and I can go the river route"

Mack says, "River travel huh..ha sounds fun...maybe those shrews could take you there"

Krisha says, "I will say this, if you decide this let me know so I can tell Abbot Benar, and if you go, be careful""

Keldorn chuckles "I use to be a warrior....and might even go back to that, so have no fear of me being unsafe and yes I have more than enough coin to get a new weapon made"

Mack asks, "A warrior turned abbey beast?"

Krisha will let the two talk as she goes to get some scones and tea, and coffee as well.

Keldorn says, "I have...missed the warrior life just a bit I think but I also miss my daughter and she has her work and business in Halyard"He chuckles "I..come from a very rich family..her mother left my daughter everything in a will and my daughter wants me to be fully in her life, not just a part time father"

Mack says, "I be with the badger mom if you want to go back to that life, do so Keldorn"

Krisha says, "He is right the only one who can truly choose what they want to do in life is the beast themselves"

Keldorn smiles "That is so true, I think...I...I do want to go to Halyard..family is important and I wish not to tell her no and...not be there, I did it once and it almost ended badly...well it did, she lost her mother and maybe she would not have had I fully be there for them"

Mack grins "Sounds like a good decision family is always very important in one's life"

Krisha nods "I..wish you well then Keldorn. I am sure Abbot Benar will understand your decision."

Keldorn nods "Thank you and I can say goodbye to Abbot Benar..I will miss the abbey but maybe being near family is what I have been missing, maybe that is what the shrews remind me of..time with my daughter and..I do have a brother there as well"

Mack says, "So family..so is good. Wish I had family but my parents are dead and I was an only child, it was by a miracle I was even born "

Krisha says, "I see the abbey as part of my family, and of course Xander. I see the dibbuns as my own"She sighs "I am unable to have my own dibbuns, had been with child but they were born way too early and died and Northstar was adopted and...she is gone"She sounds sad but she can talk about it now."

Keldorn nods, he frowns and has heard of the dibbuns"So how is Sir Xander doing anyways, any better?"

Mack asks, "Good point where is he, come to think of it where is Nardo at?"

Krisha says, "Xander has went to Ferravale to check on the tavern and Defender base and its unclear how long he will be there...Nardo also went but Xander is supposed to send letters so maybe Nardo will as well, Heard Nardo might become a healer of some sort, maybe help in the tavern"

Keldorn says, "Oh...well it is good to check on the tavern, I will check on him before I head off, Ferrvale is on the way , it's right before the river after all"

Mack says, "Maybe I will tag along, just to Ferrvale and then come back 'ere."

Krisha says, "That be a good idea and you can get a message back to me on how things are"

Keldorn says, "Company is always nice my friend and I am sure all is well in Ferravale and things are likely ok with sir Xander as well""

Mack says, "company is always good"

==Abbots Room==

Benar is looking over a letter he was handed earlier in the day, reading it over a 2nd time quietly.

Keldorn knocks on the door and waits quietly out in the hallway.He will only go in once he is invited.

Benar looks at the door, "Enter?" He folds the note and puts it aside and waits.

Keldorn smiles as he enters "Benar..I hope you are feeling better today my friend.I had..hoped to talk a little if I could, a decision I have come to decide on."

Benar nods "Well telling me in person is good, what is it Novice Keldorn?"

Keldorn nods "Mainly...about that...my daughter, I have mentioned her to you. She is in Halyard and wishes for me to go, my brother is there as well. I..think, no I know...I want to go and live in Halyard, with my daughter. I miss her and..she only has me now that her mother is dead, I had just learned my brother was there as well, still family of course and family is important, I do believe my friend. I know I took the novice pledge...and I have learned a lot. I think part of why I felt so..at home and alive with the Gousim is I missed my daughter and miss my brother. I planned to leave in the morning. I am..sorry for any disappointment I may cause."

Benar smiles "You have not..I had a feeling something deeper was on your mind but sometimes beasts have to work things out on their own. You are correct family is important and it would be best to be with your daughter and with your brother. Was you going alone?

Keldorn chuckles, "I am a ..a warrior..just a changed one since being a novice for a while..a more respectful one also"He smiles "I have maybe grown some you can say. Mack is heading with me and far and Ferrvale where I shall rest a day..maybe 2 and then head on down river to the sea and western shore, maybe get a log boat from the Gousim.I am sure they would allow it, I do have a small one I made myself for..visits and races as they wanted."

Benar nods "Just be careful, it's been a little colder than normal for this time in Autumn, but I am sure you will be fine Keldorn and I wish you well on your journey to Halyard, but I do request a note sent back to let me know you arrived safely."

Keldorn nods "Of course Abbot Benar....I likely will relax the rest of the day before bed."He bows and goes to head out of the room.

Benar holds up a paw "Keldorn, one last request before you head off"He nods to a novice passing by and smiles "Scones and tea with the Abbot and maybe some chatting, we have not chatted much and if you are to go to Halyard...a chat before you head off would be nice my friend"

Keldorn smiles as he sits down "i would like that, yes." They likely chat for a couple hours and drink tea, eat scones and then the shrew excuses himself as he then heads out of the room.

==The next morning==

Mack was ready to go and looked bored, but at least awake.

Keldorn came out with some supplies and nodded “Ready to go.”

Matilda watches them head off quietly, she made sure Keldorn had some supplies”Be careful on your trip Keldorn and Mack..don’t stay in Ferravale too long”

Mack grins “No worries..couple days I will be back and you still owe me a dance.”He chuckles a little.

Keldorn tilts his head curious

Matilda raises an eyebrow “Dance sir?”

Mack grins as he nods “For helping out de other day lass. See ya in a couple days”He then heads off with the shrew as far as Ferravale...visit with Nardo and then head back to the abbey.

Keldorn chuckles and waves a goodbye “I will send a letter once I am in Halyard...till then” A nod and his journey starts.

Matilda just shakes her head and gets inside.
