Reuions-Camp Willow / Guosim LOG!

Berwin is in the camp and..pacing back and forth muttering to himself, looks ready to maybe rip his fur out or well...someones fur

Leigh steps into the main camp and frowns"Ya ..stressed or something, let me guess..they have yet to bring the spices ya need?"

Berwin looks over at her "Stressed? I am..I am NOT STRESSED!" He is stressed and it shows, a couple shrews near him back off a little.

Oswald ducks under a bunch of long hanging trees near the edge of camp, retieing his bandana and looks over toward the sound of raised voices.

Leigh rolls her eyes "whatever....some days are stressful and some days are not, it's sunny so like smile"

Berwin frowns "He's missing ok..that's why I am stressed...we were collecting honey from that wild bee hive, that went...very well and then the shrew maid fell in the river and he just HAD to go get her out and...they got caught in the current and you know what...that pike is STILL AROUND!!"

Oswald walks over, "Log-a-Log gone and done something herocally stupid has he?" He looks at Leigh and quirks a brow

Leigh frowns "Log -A-Log is missing?" Ok well that's a good reason to be stressed then, ok..."So..wot do we do then?"

Berwin sighs "I...wouldn't say stupid....maybe...and yeah he is missing for now..I mean we have no clue what is down river"

Oswald says, "Well if he is missing someplace down the river, we should get in the boats and head that way. If he's out of the water he'll be sticking to the river bank surely?"

Leigh nods "What about the pike? It's still around somewhere though I know its not been seen except maybe once or twice so far"

Berwin says, "We stab it if it comes after the boat, fairly easy....right?"

Oswald says, "YEah and it's underwater we are shrews, we are GUOSIM we can take out a pike if we are in our boats."

Leigh sighs "Yeah...ok so do we look for him or wait to see if he gets back, I am sure Log-a-Log is ok or we would of heard something wouldn't we?"

Berwin seems to think and grins "Yeah, we can take out a pike if there is more than one of us and in a boat, though let's hope we don't run into it"

Oswald says, "Well hopefully it will ignore logs floating along the top of the river, our boats are pretty sturdy as well even if it does attack it won't find us easy prey."

Leigh chuckles and nods "So let's go find our missing leader, it...doesn't look good to have a missing leader after all"

Berwin nods "Long as he is just missing and not worse."He starts to head to where a log boat is.

Oswald says, "Yeah let's go get the Log-a-Log," He follows after the others, "Hopefully he hasn't got too far downriver"

Leigh says, "It may be interesting to see what is down river, get to know the area better as the old camp was not to far but think up river not down, maybe down..but we are looking for Log a log, lets go" She gets a healers pouch, just in case.

Berwin says, "Far enough is the sea, that's what is down river we don't want to go that far"

Oswald asks, "Yeah we don't want to get that far but I doubt the Log-a-Log could have been swept that far away?"

Leigh asks, "Likely not, so what do we know so far? Much?"She adjusts her pack and goes to one of the boats "Clues be helpful Berwin"

Berwin says, "We did see the pike, briefly and then it disappeared, I do not know how far down they got, the shrew maid had a raft and that pike broke it apart."

Oswald asks, "Ok well," He glances at the log boats, "We should take the largest one we got, get all three of us in it, two rowing and someone on pike lookout? See if we can find them? Or... should we take two?"

Leigh says, "One should be fine and likely safer, lets go"

Berwin nods "Stick together is best and safer that way as I do not want to hear of more missing anyones, or I am gonna lose fur over it"

Leigh says, "If we stick together then no one else will be missing and we can keep an eye on shorelines as well as the river."

Berwin nods as a log boat is found and all 3 of them can likely get it into the river "Of course...that is a good plan"

Leigh sighs as they go along the river, so far so good it seems as its calm, calm is good as the shoreline and river is scanned off and on.

Berwin scans the shore and shakes his head, "Nothing...wait...that's where the bee hive is!" He points to a tall maple tree and smiles "So..we be close to where the pike was..."So far no pike he hopes to keep it that way.

Leigh says, "A clue, that's good Berwin...so we are not to far hopefully from finding them""

==Meanwhile Down the river not TOO far away ===

Vilfred was on sort of watch and still trying to figure out where he was, he left the shrew maid with the two otters and decided to explore a little way, just a small ways and who knows maybe he was closer to his camp than he thought.

Aqua woke to see the one shrew was gone and decided to look for him, she needed an herb along the river bank anyways so why not, soon she saw him and spoke "Hey...you look lost, do you know how close to your camp you are or is it by the river?"

Vilfred had heard her coming and turns around "I am not being, that lost and camp is by the river, close to the bridge and north of Ferravale which is clearly...not near here"

Aqua chuckles "Your lost..."She smiles though "Well Camp Willow is half a day upriver....lets see the bride is a couple hours from that, or maybe 3 hours but its still close to the otter camp, maybe us otters can help your shrews and you help us sometimes"

The otters noticed pretty quickly when two of their number didn't make it to dinner on the ship, especially when there was a young dibbun missing their mother. Being the cautious sort the Skipper delayed the journey home, had the ship anchored and went on ahead on foot with just a few guards to sneak through the woods and search in case of trouble. He silently signals for the others to stop when he hears voices in the distance before they quietly get closer until finally Gah recognizes one voice as Aqua and pops up out of a bush not too far away "There y'are! Where's Denzi?"

Vilfred backs up and stumbles onto his bottom and blinks "Well they seem good at hiding and surprising a beast yes?"

Aqua smiles "Skipper!" She is glad to see him, even if he did pop out of nowhere "And Den is with an injured shrew a little off that path"She points to some weeds and cattail plants"Probably asleep knowing him he sort of took two watches"

Gaheris has got pretty good at being sneaky around the woods since he started insisting the guards know how to hide so they wouldn't lead trouble home. He steps out with three others trailing behind him. He looks down to Vilfred apologetically "Sorry mate, wasn't lookin' t'sneak up on shrews" he frowns a bit at Aqua's words "Wha' 'appened?"

Vilfred stands and dusts off "It is being ok...I am Log-A-Log..the injured shrew is Lyra and there is a pike in the river, so may be best to not swim or have a raft.The one Lyra had broken thanks to de pike, but half a raft did get us to shore as the pike got..distracted"He frowns a little though at distracted.

Aqua frowns "Yeah the pike tries to get me and Deniz....Den punched it in the jaw and we went to shore, I tended to the shrew maid who has an injured footpaw..neither me or Deniz was hurt, shaken up a little but not hurt"

Gaheris looks faintly surprised "Log-a-Log? Good t'ere the shrews round 'ere are gettin' organised again" He frowns at the news of the pike and nods to a couple of the guards with him "Run back an' tell the others. I don't want folks swimmin' anymore. Might avoid some f'the smaller boats too. The ship should be alright t'get movin' again an' pick us up 'ere though" that dealt with he looks back to the pair "Well, y'vanish fer a day an' yer already off 'avin' an adventure. Yer friend Lyra goin' t'be alright?"

Vilfred says, "I am hoping so and the  Guosim  camp is by the river just north of Ferravale, close to de bride but don't be thinking can see it from there, its hidden.Maybe we work together to figure out how to be rid of this pike before ...someone else is hurt or..."He frowns, "Or worse""

Aqua frowns "Seeing a pike was not a good adventure, it was scary and yeah need to get rid of it sooner rather than later..."She does have one concern "How is Melody by the way, she is ok?"

Lyra had woken up but, yeah walking was out of the question and she limped, badly right now.

The otter Deniz decided to carry her, least til they got to a boat anyways"This is much better travel and your be safe at your home soon, I think"

Gaheris tilts his head at Vilfred "Y'moved then? Though I suppose yer old camp 'ad seen better days. Y'need any 'elp settlin' in we'll 'appily send it down the river" he quickly looks around as he hears someone else coming but puts two and two together when he sees Deniz with an injured shrew "'ey" he nods back to Vilfred "Fish is a fish. Far as I'm concerned y'catch it with a net" Aqua gets a chuckle though when she asks about Melody "She's fine, she'll be spoilt rotten if y'don't claim 'er back from the others soon though"

Vilfred nods, "It is a better camp yes and help would be good as we get things build and supplies gotten, once it is spring again I will try and find a place to make a small area of crops "

Aqua smiles, she will be glad to get back, she hmmms "We can maybe take them to camp willow for now and figure out a good plan to deal with the pike and when"

Lyra finally speaks "I don't want to see that...fish with teeth again, a fish that can eat you is not something I wish to see again unless its roasting on a fire in who w evers campsite"

Deniz chuckles "tHAT be funny hee hee...it tries to eat others and eats up maybe getting eaten itself, I like...LOVE..that plan"

Gaheris nods to Aqua's suggestion "Well if they'd like t'come they're welcome. Should only be a couple f'hours before the ship catches up t'us an' we can sail the rest f'the way. It's too big for any pike t'bother with" he wrinkles his snout at the idea of eating the pike "Pike taste 'orrible. I ain't against cookin' 'im mind but y'need a good cook t'get through tha'"

Vilfred says, "I be thinking the Guosim and Willow camp be good allies so yes be nice to see the otters camp"He chuckles at the cook the pike and shrugs, a small grin "Berwin maybe could, hmmms he may be liking a challenge"He frowns "Though my shrews are likely worried about me...""

Aqua nods and we can help tend to and better check on Lyra's injury and we can find and let the other shrews know where you are...unless they find you first,then they can visit too."

Lyra shrugs,"Just so the pike ends up....gone and dead somehow or other"

Gaheris shrugs a shoulder "The Guosim 'as always been old friends t'the camp, I don't see any reason not t'continue the tradition. We're practically experts at rebuildin' camps now though so y'ave plenty t'elp. Abbey's always got food t'spare if y'need it too"

Berwin meanwhile is on a log boat with Leigh and Oswald, not too far from where the group is,but not yet in sight.

Vilfred speaks with the Skipper and smiles"Is good to have friends yes.." And all are lucky as it seems the pike is sleeping, so far.

Aqua says, "First we get back to our ship and back to Camp Willow. Rest and planing is a good idea to me ''

Lyra nods, she just stays beside Deniz for now , her leg is bandaged up "A ship be good...and safe"

Gaheris takes a step away from the group to move out of the trees towards the river bank "It'll take 'em a little time t'run back t'the ship an' get it movin' again but once she's goin' they'll be 'ere t'pick us up soon enough an'y can come with us until we've figured out this pike problem...The camp 'ad one it caught an' kept years ago, might be able t'figure 'ow they did it but me money's still on nets. Might need some good strong ones t'keep it from breakin' out"

Vilfred is on the river bank , with otters it looks like maybe half a day downriver of Camp Willow and not too far from the Shrew Camp as the shrews and otters are fairly close to one another camp wise."We had a net...it broke though...."

Deniz just listens and checks on Aqua as he yawns, still tried "SO..ya doing ok still?"

Aqua nods to Deniz and smirks "Your the one who needs sleep, not me"Well least they are getting along now as before they sort of was not so much.

Lyra lets whom whomever is helping her , help as walking is more painful limping right now, seeing the river she frowns a little, looking at it briefly before relaxing a little.

Leigh is on the log boat "So how far down river do you think they went from where the hive was?"

Berwin frowns "If I knew that I would say so women..."He mutters, annoyed again it seems"I should be in camp making dinner, dinner will be late now"He just isn't sure whom to blame for that yet.

Oswald peers ahead, paddle dipping in and out of the water, "Hard to tell, the current can be a devil sometimes," he backs his oar and glances at Berwin, "We can have a cold dinner Berwin... let's just find our log-a-log, I only just found all you guys."

Gaheris stays stood on the river bank as he looks back with a small frown at Vilfred's words "Hm. We might 'ave somethin' stronger back 'ome or maybe we can come up with some stronger trap t'keep it still long enough t'kill it"

Vilfred nods as he looks at the edge of the water,"First seen the pike few days ago..then yesterday briefly..the first time it messed up a boat and the fishing net we had.Maybe Camp Willow is having better nets perhaps, even if pike is only caught for few moments"

Aqua listens quietly,she won't be going near the pike but will be around if a healer is needed. She looks briefly at the river, mainly for the otters ship not so much any others.

Berwin snorts, "What ever...." He hmms "Least it is....quiet...."He goes quiet in fact listening, "Voices?"

Leigh shakes her head"Voices?..voices mean we found someone at least come on!"

Deniz throws a pebble in the river and looks back to Aqua before shrugging "I would help but I know more on boats than nets really"

Oswald shifts his oar to the other side, water splashing as he tries to slow their advance and twitches his small ears, "Hmm.. possibly... hopefully they have seen the Log-a-Log."

Berwin is willing to go faster if needed and yeah only makes him lose an ore...well good thing they have a spare "why!

Gaheris is thoughtful and lightly taps his tail on the ground "We'll think f'somethin'. I got a vague idea but it ain't one I'd like t'come t'" He says before his ears twitch and he looks down the river "I 'ear somethin' comin'"

Vilfred ears perk some as he grins and chuckles as he goes to one of the trees and climbs it, and smiles as he comes back down, he grins at the otters and calls out "Hey Gousim!!!! " Well one better way to get attention he does the famous call to get their attention, it's not always used for danger, it can be used for calling out to his tribe too, depends on the tone and length..ect ect and all that.

Deniz blinks "Ummm...what's he like..doing?" Yeah he has a lot to learn of this mossflower place.

Aqua watches the LOg-A-LOg and hmms"Must be the shrews....my guess"She smiles at Deniz and gives him a playful shove into some mud and whistles.

Lyra blinks and looks to the river, she smiles "The shrews are here?" Hey it's a good thing, she will be glad to see them

Leigh shakes her head as she goes to slap Berwin, but he gets lucky as she looks around"That's...."She smiles "That's Log--A-LOG!"

Oswald lifts his head at the sound and grins at the others in relief before raising his voice and calling back with that famous cry of Log-a-Log-a-Log... indicating that they are coming for their chief.

Berwin frowns "Hey....."He then smiles and looks relieved."Ok..that way, to shore!" Yeah he can...make a new extra ore later, its fine.

Gaheris relaxes slightly. He recognizes it's a greeting at least and the response seemed friendly. He lets the Log-a-Log take over greeting the shrews and just raises a paw to greet them.

Vilfred smiles as he is glad as well, once they are on shore he steps over to greet them, he looks over at Lyra to make sure she is ok but the otter Deniz helps her over and backs up a little with a wave.

Aqua waves and looks to Skipper"Well its friends at least."Ok she was a little jumpy at first as to what was going on, time in the north still is in her mind so....still jumpy at times.

Lyra smiles at the help and nods to the other shrews with a small smile.

Leigh smiles and steps off the log boat, well once its on land and smiles, she looks to Lyra and frowns "Your hurt.." Well she can tend to any injuries with any, course does Log-A-log have any, he best hold still or she will force him to hold still, she is the main..well only healer for the shrews now.

Berwin smiles"He is ok...I was not worried...ok a little" He smiles "Log-A-Log"

Oswald pats Berwin on the shoulder then uses his oar to push their log boat a bit further out of the river. He then climbs forward, bells jingling on his dreadlocks to get ashore, "Log-a-Log..." He looks at the others and waves in greeting .

Gaheris gets a little paranoid as well but good when it's not a concern. He nods once to Aqua "The shrews find their kin. We'll 'ave ours soon enough" he starts scouting a little further up the river "Then maybe we can all get 'ome in one piece before the next trouble starts"

Vilfred smiles "I am glad to be found again...I found Camp Willow otters or rather they were finding me and Lyra."He does hold still and has no injuries."He looks at the Skipper "Seems no troubles today Skipper...which is good...we can make sure all get to camp ok."Whichever, if the otters want to go to theirs and the shrews thier's that's ok with him, they can plan when get the chance.

Aqua says, "Well Camp Willow is a little closer...if under stood right the shrews camp is maybe 2-3 hours up river from our own, but it's up to everyone.""

Lyra can't walk too well so she would need help to wherever right now.

Leigh steps back and nods, "Still good light enough for now...though the log boat fitting two more I ...don't know"

Berwin frowns and shrugs,maybe two would of been best but he was just thinking find Log-A-log not so much would there be room on the way back "Errrrrrr...."

Oswald says, "It's good to see ya Chief," he grins around, "And everyone else too, thanks fer 'elpin our chief out." he then glances at the boat with the others, "Ah.. mayhaps we should have brought two of them?""

Vilfred chuckles"It will be fine Oswald....maybe get on the large ship and get a ride..stay with de otters a night and then get home to our camp. Sides...us and Camp Willow shall work together to figure out how to rid river of pike"

Aqua nods, the ship of otters will soon catch up "Well it is a big enough ship since most of us otters went to the halloballo and are on our way back, we can tie the log boat to the ship even and Skipper and your Log-a-Log can figure out the pike issue and how to handle that, having a pike around is not a good thing"

Leigh nods and smiles "Staying with otters be fine with me one night, but then we have our own camp to get to" She sits on the sand beside Oswald for now.

Berwin shrugs "Is fine with me wherever go"

Deniz just stays close by, he yawns as he is tried and will likely get a nap in when he can.

Oswald says, "Whatever you decide chief," He stretches his arms up above his head, "We can always just walk back and one of us paddle the boat along."

Vilfred chuckles, "Walking is fine, maybe work up an appetite for dinner and meet up with the otters in a couple of days." Deniz even volunteers to walk with the shrews that will be on the land.

Aqua nods"Sounds good to us...."She looks at Lyra "Someone should have least her in a log boat though..."

Berwin nods "I can row the log boat...and Lyra is welcome to join me while you others go walking along...and I can get a good dinner be ready for you!"

Leigh chuckles a little and smiles at Oswald "Walking is good exercise Oswald, maybe we can work on fixing the broken net later after dinner .Or see if the otters have any stronger netting if there is a plan to try and trap the pike one day here soon"

Oswald asks, "Walking will do me fine, I've spent enough seasons walking, and yeah we can settle down and work on that net when we get back? Unless our otter friends have any suggestions on that front."

Vilfred smiles, he just has to get his surroundings in order and nods, ok camp is this way he knows now, to him seeing the land from both river and ..well land is a good idea.

Aqua smiles as the ship comes, her and the otters will get on that as she speaks "Maybe we can meet in a few days....think Skipper wants to just get home"And she surely wants on the boat to be with her newborn again, they were away a day yeah but that's a lot to her.She watches Deniz and decides he should be fine, or she hopes so anyways.

Berwin shrugs, he will make sure Lyra gets to the camp, and will have dinner ready for his fellow shrews once they get to the camp that is

Leigh smiles, she can look for some healing plants along the way, so exercise and some plants they may need later on.

Oswald says, "Well then looks like we are in for a walk, it'll be good to get to know the river banks and lay of the land."

Vilfred nods "Thats de plan my friend...know the lands and the river..I am sorry to have worried any beast, was not being planned to get so far down river at all, but I am glad to of been found and we now have otter friends and not just any otters...camp Willow otters and they know of the pike now which was also plan to tell them of that"

Leigh nods, she finds some healing herbs close by and can dry them later"Berwin was worried....and how injured is Lyra..is she gonna join us?"

Vilfred smiles "Yes....she is a fighter and is most welcome, the group grows I am so happy and happy to have Camp Willow as allies and maybe even Ferravale as...well yes I see them as allies as well."

Deniz hmmms "Ferravale, wot is that anyways heard it like...more than once?" He looks around, whoa a lot of trees and ..whoa he almost trips...vines.

Leigh nods, ok didn't answer the injured part but that's ok, they should get to the camp by a little after dark sets in.

Vilfred nods "Lyra has injured footpaw..broken footpaw on same and maybe broken arm, not sure..." Deniz just chats with them, sadly he doesn't know camp willows location but that's fine...he can find it later he is sire,he did tell the skipper he get the shrews home safe and he will.

Leigh nods "Thank you for the info Log-a-Log and I am sure she will make a good member, we need more fighters...after she heals of course."

The shrews get home to their camp and of course have a hot and good meal waiting....

The otters get back to Camp Willow for needed rest and likely also a good dinner and so much talk of events over the summer, but more importantly likely of what to do about the Pike problem
