A Look Inside Mossflower Defender's Base-Ferravale Log/Defenders Log

Xander liked the idea of showing off the Mossflower Defenders Base, well the new one "It has some..finishing touches yet but its usable now..like the Kitchen still needs an oven, and well some rooms need paint jobs...we are getting supplies in now and..well that's all, but yes useable. My guess is fully running in maybe a couple weeks"

Benar nods as he smiles "It is very nice Xander, I am surprised the base is in Ferravale though...not that it is a bad thing. The city does have a wall and gates so maybe it makes the base safer from anyone wishing ill of it"

Keldorn steps around a corner and stops "Oh..sir Abbot, hello I did not know we were having company but you are surely welcomed my friend"

Xander nods "It does..and yeah the abbot is visiting Ferravale on his Summer trip, he was at Camp Willow before this and not sure where he is heading after this."

Benar nods a hello "Greetings..Keldorn was it, I think I remember you coming to the abbey to help us out."He offers a smile.

Keldorn smiles wide and goes to shake the abbot's paw "Yes..some others are here, some are out and about" He motions to a couple otters, a mole and a ferret who give a wave to the abbot of Redwall."The group is a little..small yes but a good fighting force still, still able to protect Mossflower when needed."

Xander adds "We also have Ferro and some allys too. Yes it is ...small but I am working on getting some recruits, there is also Lee, he is a member and Siverwing, and a couple other birds that are friends...Zolomon is an ally too so like if any patrol hares were..free to help, if ever needed, he could bring them along but I am hoping the peace lasts" He will show other rooms not just the entry hall, but the dinning hall, the kitchens, and the meeting room"There is also a training area we are fixing up and a couple rooms for resting when tried, and of course an infirmary"

Benar lets himself be walked around the base, glaceing around each room he enters and nods"That is good Xander, you have done well with your group."

Keldorn says, "Sir Xander is a very good leader and I am proud to be at his side. I too hope the peace lasts, peace is good""

Xander says, "I do have members patrol the woods, so far its been clear of major problems...there has been a couple minor things, like a rat maid who was attcking travelers...came to find out she was missing her son, once he was found she said she was sorry....and there was a clocked beast a few weeks ago but they seem to of left and not been in the area anymore so that's good...I mean of course we are still alert and even more so with the Abbot and whom ever is with him is traveling""

Benar chuckles a little "It does seem beasts are over protective of me..I am surprised Matilda let me over here, I think its only because your with me Xander otherwise she would be worried, likely still is a little worried."

Keldorn says, "The abbot is an important beast after all..how are things at the abbey my friend I have not been there to visit in about a season.""

Xander smiles "Things are fairly good, back to normal at the abbey. They had a feast you missed but there is the Summer one coming up...or did they have that and its the autumn one here...in few weeks"He shrugs "One of them.." He chuckles as he gets them a little mixed up.

Benar smiles faintly"The abbey is doing well, your welcome to come back with me and my group of friends as we are heading back in ..about 3 days now as we planed to be here 4 and we will."

Keldorn says, "I would be honored to visit the abbey for a few days my good friend"

Xander walks over "I..thought you were going to Brockhall Benar or did you change your mind. I..I know I am not....well maybe the best but if a badger is needed I could still come or maybe Krisha"He smiles "I could help Uncle Oz with the dibbuns..could be fun or if he feels like it, and of course you allow it..maybe me,Uncle Oz, Krisha and our daughter Northstar could all go to Brockhall..I am sure Sister Ginny and a few others can watch the dibbuns a few days..they did before and you did say once a year and I would make sure Uncle Oz took it easy...and we can have a healer come along..Angela maybe or..well someone, I have a couple healers here in Mossflower Defenders..a mouse named Benji and a vole maid named Hollyberry..they are getting some herbs for the infirm but they would love a chance to see Brockhall I am sure"

Benar stands there and listens, his tail drops a little at the mention of Oz and he speaks quietly "Not..right now Xander, in fact I am tried and should get back before Matilda comes over here looking for me." He goes to walk on back to the tavern on his own.

Keldorn frowns and goes to follow "I can walk you back over sir Abbot..it is not always wise to walk Ferravale alone, even in the daytime sometimes, but most of the time Ferravale is fine surprisingly."

Xander frowns and studies Benar and steps to the door, "You ok Benar, you seem...tense not tried, did you sleep well? Is there a problem...did the group have a problem on the way here..I can look into it"

Benar holds up a paw "No..problems on the way here Xander, all was very nice on the way here and the village very welcoming, your tavern as well. You will do well in the tavern, just remember to not over work yourself and to still take time for family and friends, perhaps let Patch be in charge some days or another beast you trust to help. Now..its been a long day and....I need, need some rest"

Keldorn stays where he is and looks concerned, he nods to Xander "there is Hawkeye, he is good to help out here."He looks back to the abbot "Are you sure your ok my friend?"

Xander nods as he sighs "Ok but.." No something is off here, it's just out of place and the abbot usually answers questions."Benar?...You didn't sleep well, did you and if its not the ..trip here or time here, wot is it....please Benar"He frowns more "You got real quiet when I was talking about....."Nahh if there was something wrong surely he say something.

Benar frowns now, he places his paws in his sleeves and slowly sits down in a chair, "I did not sleep as well as I would of liked."He looks at the badger and sighs "I did not want to share news with anyone but Blisa, Lacota,Gorvenalus or Matilda till I knew more but I fear..there is nothing they will be able to do. I will be heading back to the abbey after my visit here."He frowns " You are...family and should know...Oz is in a coma, a very deep one and there is fear he will not wake from it "

Keldorn frowns at the news "Oh..this is..not good news at all my friend, what happen?"

Xander mood has gone from happy, to slightly worried about the abbot to.....shock,more worry and he sort of feels like he is gonna pass out "W..Wot?..D..Did ya say?" He heard him or maybe this is some bad dream, he was worried about his uncle when he left that sudden urge to hug him and tell him he loved him, its just that he is just having a bad dream...he had too much ale and maybe a bad cheese bun as a lot of cheese buns and scones were made for Blisa's snake, that snake likely was so happy...well this badger is far from happy"Is..is he...is he gonna...gonna die?"

Benar frowns, he has held back tears of worry for a whole day almost, he keep his emotions in tow, he was fairly good at that, but the question gets to him as a few tears escape but he quickly wipes them away "I..I do not know details, just he is in the infirm in a very very deep coma showing no signs of waking, he was unconscious and woke briefly before that and then slipped into the deep coma. No more details were given and none will be known till I head back in 2-3 days, I am staying here unless another urgent message is sent, a sparrow can get here within a half hours time and the abbey is less than half a day away. But one can travel faster if needed, I think Matilda will allow me to go ahead of them when its time to leave, if not it is ok as well."

Keldorn says, "I will travel with you, perhaps the champion will allow that...stay your 2-3 more days unless news changes, if it does I myself and a couple Mossflower Defenders will get you to the abbey, even here in 2-3 days time I be willing, if allowed to help you to the abbey faster."He grins "I am a good traveling in the trees and I know a squirrel or two that are good fighters that be honored to escort the abbot of Redwall back to the abbey""

Xander listens, he is listening and just sort of nods and frowns and...places his face in his paws, why is he acting like his uncle is dead, he isn't dead ..he will wake up, surely he will wake up in a few days and just slowly recover, but that feeling of uneasiness he had before he left the abbey, that urge to hug his uncle and just randomly say he loved him and then this.

Benar nods, he lays a paw on Xander's arm "I am...sorry Xander"He speaks again"Go ahead to the abbey to be with Oz, you should be at his side...I will be at his side soon as well, you can maybe send some more news to me by sparrow maybe as I would like a little more before me and the others head back in a couple days."

Keldorn nods "He is right sir Xander, go on....I will get the Abbot back to the tavern and help make sure he and his group get to the abbey safe and sound weather that's in 2-3 days or sooner my friend"

Xander nods as he wipes his eyes, yes he was crying. He goes to gently hug Benar, maybe they both need a good hug and steps back"I am gonna head to the abbey now....just tell Patch Krisha needed me..it wouldn't be a lie she most likely does need me right now too. I will see you and the others in 2-3 days..."He then gets his blade, places it on his back, makes sure his flask has water in it and looks around and then nods as he heads to the abbey, yeah he did have breakfast and lunch he can miss, he can achally travel fairly quick when he wants to and this is surely one of those times.

Benar allows the hug and leans into it, yes he needed a hug right now as well. He steps back "Safe travels....Xander"He lets Keldorn get him back to the others, once more going into normal abbot mode around everyone, he does get a couple hour nap in later, otherwise a so so day and he decides to have a look around the market area, get some sweets and see if he can see the forge today and Brewery...keep himself busy it seems to keep his mind from worry.
