Wasps are Meanies and Grasshoppers are Nice-Redwall Log

Oz did promise and he is one to do his best to keep a promise as he is in the kitchen yard close to the wall and hmmms softly, of course he is not alone a few others of the dibbun type are with him.
   

Northstar smiles as she skips, that herbal mix still all over her arms and leg, and on her face and she frowns as those places where she got stung itch, like a lot..but seeing a grasshopper she giggles and tries to grab it "There is grasshoppers hee...by the wall in the taller grass"
   
Oz smiles, the dibbuns with him number about 5 right now and one seems afraid of these grasshoppers and demands to be picked up, the badger bends down and picks up the dibbun vole while an otter dibbun and 3 mice dibbuns help Northstar look and get grasshoppers, oh and there is a cricket too!!   

Northstar chuckles and manages to get one as it hops off her paw and onto the wall, she giggles "They walk on de wall!" She smiles"Grasshoppers are nice...huh Uncle Oz?"
   
Oz sits down and smiles letting the small group play and lets the vole stay on his lap "I suppose they are, some seem a little unsure of them"He blinks when one is distrube and lands on his nose, he shakes his head to let it go elsewhere as the vole watches it leave with wide eyes.The other four chase another grasshopper and then one of the four decide to sit by Oz and play with a piece of grass.

   
Keldorn walks to where the dibbuns and Oz is and nods "Greetings my friends.....It is good to see the young ones out and having fun, and the young badger maid as well, you feel better then hmmmm?"   

Northstar waves "Hi hi...wasps make me...itchy and they is meanies....."   

Oz says, "Your allergic to them" He nods "I heard the wasps were moved or ...maybe, something about a couple squirrels in the infirm " One of the dibbuns gets another piece of grass and looks at it, the other 4 still look for grasshoppers and find one, giggling when it hops away.   

Keldorn nods"Yes I heard..seems not the best plan in way it was moved but either way the wasps seek a new home elsewhere, all is good.."He smiles as he gets a blade of grass and smiles as he blows on it and it makes a sort of toot noise, "One doesn't need a flute or drum to make music no my friends, a blade of grass is just as sweet sounding."He will show them how to make it sound like music.   

Northstar blinks "Wot..aler..lergic mean?" She then stares at the shrew, how can grass made a sound, is he magic or something?
   
Oz listens and hmms "Interesting sound..."He answers Northstar "It means wasps can make you ill...in your case very and to stay away. Some beasts are allergic to some foods even, like I know a couple who can't eat nuts and one in the snowy north could not eat fish...though was not always a lot of fish up there anyways"   

Keldorn smiles"A blade of simple grass, makes a simple tune...."He blows on it again and smiles as the dibbuns copy, well one messes up as he chuckles, he likes the dibbuns"Snowy north my friend? Hmms few live up there, it is hard there yes?"   

Northstar tries and does make a sound with her blade of grass and smiles as she lays on her back, she frowns "Why wasps be means for?"   
Oz says, "Well...I was not there, perhaps they just thought you and who ever else was an enemy"   

Keldorn sighs, he still has some swellings with his stings "Well we are all much bigger and wasp are like vermin, with very tiny wings and the bush was their home and it was disturbed so they fought back in the only way they do, it was good to run as wasps , unlike bees, are very protective of their home and the two squirrels whom made it a mission to try and move them home and all, was wrong in doing so. Even though the wasps did cause pain I do hope they find a new home, but one far away and live in peace."   

Northstar asks, "DO wasps make honey? Bees make honey...and honey is yummy"   

Oz shrugs "I..don't think so, I would say ask Ewan but he did say he knows more on bees than wasps." A couple of the dibbuns are napping now and the other just sitting down and behaving.....for now.   

Keldorn says, "No my friend they do not and yes honey is from bees and honey is good but bees also can sting so do not get too close, they may sting if afraid so always be nice to bees, walk slowly and remain calm,..wasps just avoid in the future as more could be in places in the woods, one...never knows, also wild bees too"
   
Northstar says, "I not like wasps...they meanies and grasshoppers are nice"And she is sticking with that as she yawns and snuggles up to Oz and ends up falling asleep beside him.

Oz nods "And that is ok.."He puts an arm around Northstar....he also has a sleeping vole dibbun, a couple mice dibbuns now and the only one awake is the otter dibbun who sort of sits there....yeah he will sleep soon.

Keldorn chuckles "It seems it is nap time my friend "He looks at the dibbuns and Oz and smiles "Dibbuns are nice perhaps one day I will start a family as well"   

Oz leans back on the wall and smiles "Well being the caretaker I watch the dibbuns and have for many many seasons now..I have watched dibbuns grow up and become brothers or sisters in the order"He chuckles "I remember a couple novice whom are now grown....Benar being one of them, when I first came he was barely a novice himself....and I did have a son, sadly he and my mate, whom Northstar is name after...my mate and child died when he was but half a season old, I adopted a mouse dibbun and raised him to an adult...he was a warrior till the day he was killed one day.....most of the dibbuns I seen grow up though did not all become warriors...a lot still live here, though a hare did join the long patrol..maybe a couple did in fact"He yawns a little ...soon all the dibbuns are sleeping beside him."I would move but"He shrugs "They seem cozy"   

Keldorn nods ":That the ydo my friend and you are a good caretaker of the dibbuns."   

Oz nods "And I plan to be for as long as I can....Krisha though will be Badger Mother in my place, when my...time is.."He frowns going quiet, a soft sigh as he moves a lttle but also tries to not distrube the sleeping dibbuns, they luckly stay asleep   

Keldorn frowns as he listen, he knows the badger is old but not much else "I am...sure she will do well my friend. I should let you get some rest, I can let you know when it is dinner time maybe?"   

Oz smiles "I will likely hear the bell but thats in a couple hours and yeah..I know Krisha will do well,I trust her with their lives"He takes a nap with the dibbuns, it is shady here right now and when the bell rings he will slowly get up, make sure the dibbuns wash up for dinner and then he and them will get to dinner, perhaps just a few minutes late .
