At The abbey gates

Reva groans, she hated mornings and this was an hour before the sun was even up. like what gives. She folded her arms over her chest "This is dumb..I'm still sleepy, this pack hurts my back and more so when sleepy, and the sun is even still sleeping...we could wait ya know"

Zolomon just shrugs "I wanted to get going, I mean I..said my see you laters to most, well that's important anyways. And your need to get use to waking early we are in the Long Patrol after all"

Oz chuckles as he comes to the gate,"And to think, he use to sleep in."He says quietly as he appears, no staff with him though.

Reva turns and waves then remembers "Hallo sur...wot you doin' up so so so early or does abbey beasts like to wake up before the blooming sun?" She blinks

Reva says, "He use to..sleep in...ok why not now then"

Zolomon speaks "Cause.."Good enough and he frowns a little "Why...are ya here..Oz...not ta worry I spent time with Xandy and Krisha..thar was this picnic, it was achally sort of fun..a ..little.."

Oz smiles" I heard..but someone wanted to talk to you..."It's then another badger rushes over to Zolomon to hug him, it's Northstar. She smiles at the hare"Wanted to hug..friend, and you..is..your my friend and saved me long long long...ummm time go."

Reva grins "It's a dibbun badger, how cute and she likes you..wait wot ya save her from, why did I miss that...ok sleeping in maybe not that great, not to self"

Zolomon smiles as he is hugged and returns it, ok hugs and a smile is good. He looks at Reva "Cause lass it was before this..before I joined de Long Patrol...like 2..little less seasons before the siege and that was also a couple seasons ago now...whoa...time flies"He grins a bit and ruffles the badgermaid's headfur. "Her birth mother and father were killed by Ormaz and thar was this evil monitor that worked for Ormaz that wanted to make , at the time, newborn badger cub his lunch but me and a couple other Mossflower Defenders stopped him and I run the cub to Ferravale...and she soon got to Xander and Krisha who adopted her as their own."He smiles at Northstar "And she is a LOT bigger now"He chuckles remembering being able to carry her in his arms and..well now not so much..well maybe if he had to he could maybe do it, for now.

Northstar smiles "I can be novice...a novice when it's Autumn....and I learning the charter now, and know bout healing herbs and..and tea..and..."

Oz chuckles and shakes his head as he speaks "And you need to go to Breakfast, let you father and mother know I will be there soon." He makes sure she heads off and leans agasist the wall slightly.

Reva frowns as she watches Oz and walks forwards a little "You...ok sur?"

Zolomon smiles and stands as Northstar heads off and looks at Oz in concern, "Ozzy?" He walks over " I can help ya to your room or the infirm, I am gonna get me and Reva a small bit past the bridge by nightfall, if I can.." He plans a little jogging/running so Reva best be ready.

Oz nods "I am fine, just title tried not to worry...mornings are just a little..annoying, that's all. Northstar wanted to say bye...I think she plans to maybe write a letter once she is able, she is learning reading and writing from Sister Ginny and Krisha. I hope you have safe travels Zolomon and Reva as I don't wish to hear any bad news and do send a letter when you get home, it will help less Xander worry less, he....has enough worry as it is "

Reva steps back, she is ready when Zolomon is ready. She starts to say something and just stays quiet.

Zolomon nods as he frowns"Yeah....and we'll be careful.."He then hugs Oz suddenly, the first in a long while he has went to hug anyone on his own since....well Tarsa died, usually someone has to hug him first and it's only half the time he will return the hug back, but he is working on that, slowly. He is quiet a long while as he finally finds his voice."I'm...gonna miss ya Ozzy."

Oz is surprised at the hug, almost falling sideways but walks slowly to the steps and sits after the hug, he does return the hug and nods."Just...stay in contact with Xander and Sinway..ok."

Reva says, "You can always visit ya know, even ifs its not for a while"

Zolomon nods and helps him to the stairs "Promise....."He looks to Reva "Yeah..visit once in a while but not often, we...tis not like they let long travel happen often at all so no thinking we can come to the abbey when ever we like Reva..sides..."He frowns"Even if we can visit every few seasons or...so..."His good ear droops"Ozzy most likely won't...be here."

Oz sighs as he listens to them"Still...visit when can and when allowed to, there is always letters. I am sure Xander will send you letters, as well as anyone else who wants to, it's important to keep contact going, weather its good news, bad news or just a simple hey how are you letter"

Reva just looks between them "Why would he not..."It then seems to dawn on her a little, he is old and he was in the infirm for what ever reason...hey she isn't nosy so she didn't ask why, not like she knows him that well they were only here maybe a couple weeks. Well maybe 3 weeks total.

Zolomon sighs and straightens up "Anyways Reva, we should head off now, we have supplies and can get a few more in Ferravale, and thar is fish, wild berries, wild greens along the way and rations to be had."Yeah learn of rations and gathering wild foods, important skills for any Long Patrol hare to have.

Oz decides to speak, "Krisha will...one day soon take over my duties. Beasts do not stay around forever.."He smiles as he seems to think back on a long of stuff"He stands up and walks to Zolomon patting him on the shoulder"I will...make sure a letter is sent to Salamandastron, likely will tell Benar or Gorvenalus to send it, Xander likely will not be able to, likely to forget. I should get back inside."They are right outside the gates "Before I am grumbled at, I was supposed to take that...foul tasting tonic half an hour ago, also need to remind Friar Lacota of getting Mint when he gets supplies, there is enough for a couple days of adding flavor to that...discussing tonic."He then heads on inside.

Reva looks to Zolomon,once the badger is out of earshot and the two hares get a little up the road she asks "Is he...gonna die?"Simple and short and to the point.

Zolomon listens and nods and says his goodbye again with another hug and then heads up the road with Reva, he hears her and replies within a couple moments "Yeah...but not news to say much of right now"He might quietly mention it to Ciocan once they get home as might be good when a letter comes and he has a feeling a letter will indeed come, though likely not too soon..he hopes anyways."Go..pick up de pace lass, we need to be a mile away from de bridge a little after nightfall"

Oz lets the Gatekeeper know Zolomon and Reva left and then heads to his room, takes his tonic and relaxes till lunchtime when he usually has his Math class and then tea. He is sure a letter will be send out, not too too soon...not Spring, but it could well be sent out before Summer is completely over.......
