Zolomon was making sure all keep a descent pace. They even managed to, least a short while, get some shrews to give them a ride and it did help with distance by a lot, course back to walking but it looked like they be there lot sooner than planed and that's always good after all."Least its more slushy than snow, some grass and flowers here and thar...always a nice sight"

Hawkeye nods, he looked around and been a little extra alert since they started walking again, the rest he enjoyed and it helped his leg."Yes, it is Spring you know, very early spring and soon the snow should be gone, though may want to get slightly more inland not so along the river, just in case of flooding"

Ewan nods "There is flash floods in the spring, but usually not too bad if read correctly, was bad maybe one or two times in all the springs that have been around. And not too much is right by the river to be effected much"

Zolomon says, "Gonna be nice to see the abbey, wonder if they missed me any"

Xander chuckles as he comes into view"Some may of missed you Zolomon....I mean I did your my friend"

Jaecar had noticed how earlier the group was on a boat, but he managed to keep up with them, seeing them on land made him smirk, beasts were so much earlier to deal with on land than on waterways. He keep out of sight as he followed them and soon had them in his view.

Hawkeye smiles "I am sure the abbey will be glad to see you and any visitors"He is relaxing a little more than he was earlier"So how close to a camp site are we, it is getting a little later and we have been walking since lunch" And before that they were on the small boat the shrews had, well till the shrews said they had to get off//sort of grumpy shrews who at least helped speed up the trip a little.

Ewan says, "I say we avoid shrews, those were moody ones."

Zolomon shrugs "Reva did make the ropes on the logs a little too loose."

The hare maid hmmphs "Did not..."She speeds up a little."She so did loosen the ropes fiddling with them, made logs come off and half the raft...and passengers with it, her included, so yeah they had the right to be moody and tell them to go walk the rest of the way.

Jaecar watches the group, he would wait, wait for a good time to strike, besides he wasn't after the beasts traveling with the old otter, just the otter is all he wanted but the others were in the way.

Xander shakes his head"We shouldn't go too fast, Crevan and Sinway is towards the back right?"

Zolomon says, "I think he is helping de shrews fix the raft and Crevan think wanted to help maybe, not fer sure though. Though the raft did need fixed..."He looks at Reva"

The hare maid frowns, "Wot....I told them sorry and they still yelled, not my...ok it was my fault ya all like happy now? Are we almost there?Are we stopping soon?" She sighs "I am so so so so bored!"

Hawkeye chuckles a little, he looks around "And if Crevan is with Sinway, that's fine I trust a fellow otter to keep an eye on Crevan, and they will catch up, we are staying along the river correct?"

Ewan nods, he doesn't need a map, he has the map, more than one, memorized in his head as well as this is the path the LP took on the way to the abbey, so there is that also. As he said once he never forgets a train or path, he remembers even if he has only seen it once"The map needs updated slightly, we should tell Benar that, just slightly is all as one path is gone now."

Jaecar keeps an eye on them, mainly Hawkeye as he stays just out of sight among the weeds and cattail plants.

Xander shakes his head "We are maybe, let's see....less than a week away...half a week so 3-4 days and we should be there"

Its starting to get dark now as the sun has set and night is fallen. A good area comes up in a semi small clearing a little off the path along the river, and an added bonus its a clear night as starts are out.

Zolomon asks, "Yep we are close now and how do ya notice details like that even Ewan??" He looks around"I mean ya remember trees and such along a path?"

Hawkeye says, "I think its a good skill to remember things like that, in my age I do forget things sometimes, lucky not too often""

Ewan says, "I don't know, I just do...see it once and remember details"

Xander smiles, he soon finds them a good camp area and sits down "So what now, think some supplies were lost in the river, lucky not too many but some of the food was I know"

Jaecar grins as the beasts stops, he can wait as he has waited this long as he backs up a little into more of the undergrowth.

Zolomon says, "Ummm...well we should be fine, sides Long Patrol hares know how to deal with rasions."He nods to Reva "Come Reva..rasions are something ta discuss and also a little jog around and all that ya know"He will make sure she follows, and they can check on Sinway and Crevan and show them to the campsite ."Back soon"

Hawkeye grins "I can get us some fish and watercress, and seen some mint leaves, that can make a good tea, long as you still have some rice cakes, we should be fine"He heads to the river to get some fish, being an otter this should be enjoyable and easy too.

Ewan says, "Fish is good. I think we may still have some of the shrew bread stuff, that might be nice with fish, and maybe apple slices, we still have that but lost the rice cakes, dried fruit we lost and some bread"

Jaecar watched the old otter, then gave a low chuckle as he stepped into view "Hello river dog, miss me?"He gives an evil smirk"Why you so far from Halyard, beast your age shouldn't be traveling after all, and where is the brat that usually with ya? hmmm....?"

Xander says, "Fish is ok, I might help him cook it, if he needs help. I am hoping he decides to stay in Mossflower, I offered him a job at the tavern and I am sure he could get a home too, maybe Ferravale or stay at the abbey even, he would likely love the pond"

Hawkeye had caught 5 fish in the half hour time. Then he frowns and spins around as he hears one very familiar voice "Jaecar?"He almost growls the name "What are you doing this far, see I can ask de same question of you ya scum"

Jaecar smiles coldly as he flicks a dagger at the otter."Finishing what my gang started, only I was interrupted but"He looks around "No one is here right now."He snaps his fingers "I also have new friends" One large fox and a couple rats. No warning as the attack begins.

Xander is meanwhile at the camp, "A couple loafs and lucky plenty of water as the water pouches were not lost, some cherry drink was though."

Ewan nods as he hmmms"I wonder how long it will be till Zolomon and Reva get Sinway and Crevan here...also it seems quiet, thar should at least be crickets, there was crickets last night"

Hawkeye sidesteps the dagger, just barely and glares "Course ya brought your friends"He gets the dagger and stabs one of the rats, and slices at another, if lucky he will get another weapon. He may be old but he is about to prove he can still fight and kick butt.

Jaecar eyes widen, how in the world get the old otter manage to kill one of the rats, the rat falls over dead of a sliced throat, the other one has a bleeding arm. He snarls and gets out his short sword"Let's see how good ya still are old fool"

Hawkeye smirks, he has good reflexes and flicks the dagger to get a cutlass as he finishes off the 2nd rat and looks to the fox and the weasel"That..wise?" He is a little out of breath but still fights.

Jaecar is likely quicker than the old otter and skillfully moves out of reach, the fox is a little confused but a nod from the weasel and he stays in front of the otter as Jaecar attacks from behind, a slice and swift kick to the leg he seen him limping with once.

Xander frowns, this is worrying him "I hate to have to explain why we left camp but...something isn't right..come on"

Ewan nods as he goes to follow the badger."We should be careful."He will remember the way back even if it's dark.

Hawkeye has been doing fairly well in the fight, though panting some now and has a cut on his left arm and right check. He frowns briefly and strands up better as he glares at the ferret and fox.

Jaecar is a little tried as well, maybe not as much as he chuckles "Tried old fool, maybe ya need some rest...some perment rest"The fox seems to have a broken shoulder and rather nasty slice on the same upper arm and none too happy right now.

Hawkeye narrows his eyes as he slices at the weasel and pants as he about loses his balance,

Ewan gets to the area first and frowns, a fox..a weasel and Hawkeye. He gets out his saber.

Hawkeye chuckles a little and slices at the fox's tail and smirks "Bit..bit...shorter.."He gasps and drops the cutlass as some sort of pain shoots threw him, shivering he takes a couple more deep breaths stumbling a little a what the heck is happening to me look on his face. This makes the kick connect and he stumbles into a tree and groans.

Jaecar grins, the fox growls as the tip of his tail is sliced off,he then catches sight of the hare and grins "Its a bunny what we do Jaecar?"

Ewan can fight, he has skill and will prove it in rare times as he takes a deep breath and exhales as he watches the fox "Step away from the otter"

Xander gets to the area, "Hawkeye!" He draws his blade and narrows his eyes at the weasel and the fox both.

Hawkeye starts to get up and just tenses in pain as his breathing and pulse seem to race, shivering and ...ok this is bad as his chest hurt, his arm hurts. He goes to crawl a few feet while the two vermin are distracted.."Seasons....ok..too old fer this..."

Jaecar grins, he looks at the badger and the hare "Simple...you kill the stripedog...I'll kill the hare and then we finish off the old fool Hawkeye...less of course he dies on his own"He chuckles darkly.

Ewan is a little worried but is ready for the weasel,he will block a blade and is quicker on his foot paws than most think.

Xander growls at the fox, yeah the fox is likely in trouble "That some sort of joke?He angles the large blade and is ready. The fox likely wont get much of an attack, he has basically peeved off the wrong badger.

Hawkeye pants as he leans on the tree and shovers. He has a bleeding arm, his leg is in pain, lucky not broken but his chest and shoulder blade hurt and he is fighting staying awake as he shivers. Manageing to calm some, but still his breathing and pulse is not very good at all.

Jaecar chuckles as he fights the hare, he is a little surprised his blade is blocked...twice and he gets a slice to the chest as he snorts "Lucky move." The fox ends up with a slice on his arm, leg...oh and his tail is basically a stump now as he backs up and then goes to try and kick the blade away from the badger.

Ewan sidesteps a blade again and ducks a swing as he looks at the weasel"Or your just tried from another fight...and I am not."He goes to block the blade and aims a punch to the weasels face or jaw!

Xander growls at the fox, steps back and swings for his neck as he speaks "You made a mistake harming my friend!"

Jaecar briefly is distracted by the fox, the fox just lost his head like literally, he turns to the hare just in time to be knocked out cold and slumps to the ground, its hard to say how long he will be unconscious but its likely his jaw is cracked, he will live yes and likely seek revenge.

Hawkeye watches the fight and frowns. He manages to slowly stand, takes a step..two and then he passes out and falls to the muddy ground, barely moving.

Ewan blinks as he steps back "I..won a fight..."He blinks at the saber and his paw that has blood on it...he feels a little woozy now and leans agasist a tree, he glaces at Hawkeye and sort of shakes his head to stay awake "Oh..oh no...no..."

Xander takes a few breaths, deep breaths as he calms and kicks the fox as he steps back and puts away the blade and looks at "Hawkeye!" He races over and fears the worse"Hawkeye?..Hawkeye!"

Hawkeye is alive but he needs a healer as he is semi conscious but not really knowing what is going on. He also still shivers slightly. His only wound is one small cut to the cheek, a swollen leg,not broken and a cut on his arm.

Ewan looks to the unconscious weasel and runs over to the otter and checks on him "He isn't in good shape, not at all and we are still not close to the abbey yet"He does sound concern.

Xander will gently pick up the otter "What are we close to Ewan please.

Ewan thinks as he scans the area, mutters something as his mind races and he thinks, a look around remembering the paths as he thinks back to on the way here first..."Camp willow..maybe a day on up river. We...Zolomon maybe could get him there and we can catch up....he needs a healer or he is...if he doesn't get help soon he'll die"

Xander frowns in worry and concern"Then lets hope Zolomon is there"He will quickly go back down the path, he is wasting no time.

Ewan nods and quickly follows, maybe slightly ahead and will make sure Zolomon gets the otter to Camp Willow, he knows his fellow hare is the fastest runner, he did get news back to Salamandastron after all,this should be easy enough. Ewan can help make sure the others catch up when they can. For now get the otter to hep, him and the other beasts can rest and leave the camp to catch up in the morning.
