I just had a thought:  DoraRose makes sure there are guards up on the walls at all times of day (and I think Matilda would agree with that).  How are the vermin gonna get out of the Abbey without the night time wallguards seeing them?  They patrol the entirety of the outer walls!

#653 Re: RP Chat » Dibbun Slavers TP » 2020-05-04 06:54:18 PM

Oh, true!  That would work for during the RP, too.  And then there'd be a witness to say, "Da bads vermins tooks da othew Dibbuns!!"

Reminds me of how much I love watching goslings and ducklings swimming around IRL, too... smile

SCENE:  Salamandastron training room

CHARACTERS:  All hares.
Felicity, female.  Gregorian, male.  Dominik, male.  Various spoofs.

LOG:
It has been 2 weeks since Dominik and Felicity's fight. 2 weeks since Felicity's bad mood has started. 1 week since she tried her first alcohol. And it has been rough on everyone.
Right now the Sergeant is making all the Recruits, Privates, and 2 unlucky Corporals, who are all tagged as Runners, to do some pretty strenuous exercises. The only consolation is that she's doing the work out with them, as per her usual.
"UP! GET THOSE KNEES UP! Y'CAN'T EXPECT T'B'ABLE T'OUTRUN VERMIN WHILE BEIN' TH'OUTTA SHAPE LAYABOUTSY'ARE, WOT!!" How Felicity is able to yell after a full 2 hours of this is a mystery. But she can, and all her poor trainees have to listen. They try to bring their knees higher, but they really just look about ready to collapse. The Sergeant sees this, and after a few more minutes she calls a halt. All the lower-ranking hares struggle to not fall to the ground in exhaustion.
Felicity points to the water barrel. "Get a drink an' listen close." She walks over to a dummy, makes sure they're watchingher, then gives the dummy a huge kick. The trainees flinch as the wood gives a cracking sound. "I want you lot t'practice doin' those kinds o' kicks aftah dinnah t'night. Both legs, 10 kicks each. If y'break any o' th'dummies wi'out breakin' y'feet, then y'doin' it right. Dismissed!" As they file out, the Sergeant ignores some of the glares she receives, instead looking at the crack she just gave the dummy. Yep. It needs to be repaired. Probably again.

Gregorian has been listening. It's hard not to when the forge is just on the other side of the armoury and the yelling from the training room travels. Luckily after working there for so long he's fairly used to the background noise of officers shouting their lungs out everyday. Still, he's always happy to hear the word dismissed and he gives it a few minutes while he finishes up what he's doing before he crosses the armoury to stick his head in to the training room and assess the damage as he heard things breaking "All clear of recruits?" he questions, as if he's hiding away from the recruits. Which is really only sensible.

Dominik had spent those two weeks generally avoiding Felicity; whenever it was time to eat, he'd sit way at the other end of the mess hall, finish his food, then leave just as quickly as he'd arrived. Passing her in the hallway, he would look right past her and continue going in the opposite direction, and in the recreation room he'd simply sit at the end of the bar and stare down at whatever drink he'd chosen on that particular day. Hearing the news that there seemed to be more practice dummies in need of repair, the large hare had made his way down to the training room to complete this task...it was one of the few things that could calm him whenever he was in a mood. Carrying with him his small bag of tools, the buck hears the commotion before he even enters the room, and his eyes turn steely as he recognizes the voice. He pauses at the door, before finally just deciding 'to hell with it', and ducking in. His eyes scan the room, stopping on the small collection of cracked dummies a short distance inside, and he makes his way over in that direction. Pulling up a stool, he gets to work, attention focused solely on what he is doing

Felicity starts walking over to the armoury door. "Aye, done f'r th'day. Sorry if we disturbed ya." As Dom walks in, hurt and grief flash clearly across the Runner's face, and she ducks her head and hugs herself as she continues to plod over to Greg. All of the huge buck's instances of ignoring her have dones nothing but widen the gulf between them (and sent Lissie into the catacombs to cry as she asked her parents what she had done wrong). However, she refuses to apologize because that didn't work well last time. So this is all going well. tongue

Seeing the cost is clear Greg enters the room properly and glances about. Most stuff that breaks in this place tends to be wood which is strictly speaking not Greg's job but when the patrols numbers became small Greg picked up some additional jobs. This time however Dom has arrived to do the job instead "Ah, yah get used tah it. Though I see yah already have help tah get the place tidied up again. Always nice tah know when I'm not needed" and he genuinely means that.

Dominik takes a very brief moment to lift his eyes, and they settle upon Felicity as he watches her making her way over towards Greg. His relationship with the older buck had cooled considerable ever since the incident in the catacombs, and so Dom generally tried to avoid him for the most part, as well. His gaze still a little on the cool side, Dom hrmphs, ears giving a flick before his eyes shift back down to the dummy he is working on. He begins to work silently, eyes focused on what he is doing as he begins to patch up the first dummy. His thoughts stray to the thing he'd been thinking about earlier that day, and whenever he'd see Felicity and give her that look which seemed to send her away, crying in some instances and angry in others. His shoulders heave in a slow, heavy sigh, as he contemplates things.

Felicity gives Greg an almost pleading look, as if to say 'YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME ALONE WITH HIM!' Not noticing Dom looking at her, she says, "Oh, but many paws make light work, an' if y' 'elp us, we'll all get done fastah an' soonah, right? At least wi' cleanin' up aftah m'class." There's some bits of straw here and there, but for the most part there really isn't much of a mess. Their exercises needed only dummies to be successful. It's mostly just a tactic to try and make the Smith stay until she's ready to leave.

Gregorian is starting to sense things still aren't right with the two and his smile fades to a frown as he looks back and forth between the pair "Don't tell me yah two still aren't talkin' tah each othah" straight to the point.

Dominik lifts his eyes once again as he hears Greg's words, the buck smirking a little before he gives a shake of his head. "Is nothink to talk about," he mutters. "All talkings has been done." He begins to lightly tap the hammer and chisel he is holding against the dummy in front of him, paw gripping the handle tightly as his eyes shift back to his work. "Dom should not be here, and should not be talking. Others in room have problem with this, it seems." His ears give a wiggle before flattening upon the back of his head.

Felicity's pleading look morphs into one that says 'Seriously?' But then Dom starts talking. Ooh, boy! "I tried t'get y't'undahstand tha' y' 'ave othah things t'life foh! But NOOOOOOO, y'just 'ave t'be so sure o' y'own lack o' worth! Are y'even 'earin' this?" The Runner is almost in tears as she turns to Greg. "I just tried t'be a friend an' everythin' went wrong, an'....an'....." And, yeah, they're not talking to each other. Here, Mister Smith, have some drama to attend to.

Gregorian sighs heavily at the pair of them. He'd got the gist of it when Felicity had taken to drinking so he roughly knows what's going on "Revenge is not a way of life" he drones as if he's teaching dibbuns before his tone returns to normal and he points briefly at Dom "And yah don't get tah call dibs on them ovah every othah family vermin ruin" he points at Felicity "Nor is it her fault for tellin' yah. Now yah've done good here in the patrol. Yah say yah shouldn't be here, I say there's beats who would be dead right now if yah weren't. I can't undahstand if yah can't see that as important" another sigh and he looks at Felicity "Now yah gettin' worked up too. Why don't yah sit down?" and preferably not start crying. Greg would very much not like to deal with crying does.

Dominik gives another heavy sigh, the buck knowing that Greg is right in what he says. It'd taken him quite awhile of thinking and ruminating on things before he'd come to that conclusion, and hearing it spoken aloud does seem to help him understand it a little better. "...yes. Has thought about this, sir. Dom knows he does not have sole right to revenge on group who also kill many other families. Is supposing should be glad vermin are gone, no matter who it vas that did it." He continues to work on the dummy as he speaks, his eyes remaining on it and not looking at the other two. "Also know that other purpose has been found, vith both leetle Grace, leetle Julia, and other leverets. Took avhile to understand this, and..." he lifts his eyes to them, finally. "Dom vishes to apologize, to Felicity. Vas stupid, and immature to act like Dibbun for so long. Did not mean to make cry, or make sad."

Felicity sniffles, shocked that Dom is actually agreeing. It's a miracle! She doesn't sit down because she isn't some frail flower, but tears do start trickling down her cheeks. The past few weeks have been painful and stressful for her, and she's just tired of it all. "I'm sorry, too," she manages to get out as she tries to not cry pathetically. She just really needs a break. "Can we be friends again?" She sounds very much like a Dibbun with that. Because sometimes we all need to be a child.

All hail the problem solving powers of Greg! Who gets lucky and steps in when everything has practically solved itself. He's surprised by this himself but he hides it well and nods in satisfaction at Dom "Well. Good" he gestures to Felicity to just go make up while he safely hangs back by the armoury door to wait for the awkwardness to pass.

Dominik notices Felicity's expression and how she is seemingly on the verge of bursting into tears. Though hopefully this time, they'd be happier ones than the last few times. Giving another sigh, Dom stands from his stool and awkwardly shuffles over in the direction of the doe, having left his tools behind where he'd been working. As he stands there before her, he stares down at her for a few more moments, before he crouches down a little and reaches his paws over to attempt a hug...and he does his best not to completely smash her in his grip. "Yes. Can be friends, again. Felicity has no blame for vat happened, is all on Dom. Vas only trying to help, an' Dom realize this now." He sighs. "Let emotions get best of, like alvays. Must work on such things, in future."

Felicity lets him hug her, although she does start crying more as she listens to him. There may be some happy tears mixed in there, but they're mostly from her being overstressed from this whole mess. Greg gets all the awkwardness! He'll be fine tongue After a few minutes, she has managed to get herself under some semblance of control and pulls out a hankie to wipe her nose on.

The awkwardness does not pass and now Greg's just standing there watching them hug...It only takes about half a minute before he glances around and after a little hesitation he steps back, sliding silently through the armoury door and away. He's leaving them to it.

Dominik finally releases Felicity from the hug, the buck standing there glancing down at her as he reaches up a paw to lightly rest it on her shoulder. "And Lissie need to learn to not cry as much," he chuckles in a teasing fashion.

Felicity sticks her tongue out at him.  Glancing around, she gestures at the slight mess.  "Let's get this cleaned up, an' then may'ap I c'n 'elp y'wi' th'dummies we broke."  Grabbing a broom, she starts sweeping, glad to finally have been reconciled with her friend...

Gracie (my gosling, and it's okay -- I have so many spoofs, it's understandable to forget them on occasion smile ) can't fly yet, but I do like the idea of her hiding somewhere and so not getting caught.

SCENE:  redwall abbey great hall

CHARACTERS:  xander, a male badger; his newborn son.  isa, a female kitten.  lilymoore, a female mouse; grace, a female gosling.

LOG:
Xander is sort of in a daze right now, he was outside the badger mother's room then shooed away which he hated, more so now.He was gonna find the abbot and decided he was too tired and so went slowly down the steps to the Great Hall and found a place to sit.He carried something in his arms. It appeared to just be a blanket but...something was wrapped in it, just wasn't clear what unless one got closer. Also looked like the badger needed some sleep.

Isa is apart from the main gaggle of dibbuns, she still doesn't really play well with others but she's currently sat quietly on the floor by the fireplace drawing by herself. She looks up at Xander gets closer to the seats but she doesn't greet him or anything, she just stares.

LilyMoore is helping with the dibbuns today! the mousemaid is handling them pretty well, actually -- even the dab is doing as she says. the bellringer makes her rounds and comes up to the kitten, leaning over her to look at her picture. "what'cha drawing, isa? oh, hi, xander -- what's wrong?" lily straightens up and looks at him, concerned. gracie the gosling is also not hanging out with the other dibbuns, and is playing quietly with a doll near the fireplace, as well.

Xander jumps slightly as he was about to fall asleep " I..tried...and worried, the healers wont say much" He is not so half asleep that he forgot someone else on the room, he looks down at the bundle in his arms and seems relieved all is well.....for now.

Isa shrugs at LilyMoore's question but doesn't look at the mouse, she's too busy keeping an eye on the badger "Nothin'. I couldn't think ah stuff t'draw" so she'd drawn the fire and then added a crude stick figure of one of the dibbuns she doesn't like dangling over it.

LilyMoore is not fooled by the kitten feigning innocence. "uh, huh. we can talk about it later, 'kay, isa?" walking over to the badger, the bellringer goes to rest a paw on his arm. "why are you worried? what are the healers not telling you? that doesn't seem like nana." out of curiosity, she goes to peek at the bundle to see what he's holding.

Xander frowns " cAuse Krisha passed out and...." And he in interrupted by a whimper then wailing, how can something so small be so loud. least the newborn cub has healty lungs.

Isa isn't feigning innocence, she doesn't see anything wrong with wishing fiery doom on mortal enemies. She's not even trying to hide the picture. She shrugs again at LilyMoore saying they'll talk later "Ok" she says before tilting her head at Xander and finally her eyes go to the bundle now it's making a whole lot of noise. She frowns when it keeps going and covers her ears with her paws though it does little to block out the sound.

well, lilymoore is gonna have to teach the kitten about that thing called forgiveness. however, first she must deal with how cute the baby is, even though he's wailing. "oh my goodness, your baby! can i hold it? is it a boy or a girl? have you fed it anything?" she holds out her paws, obviously expecting him to let her hold the cub. "wait, krisha fainted?" gracie has likewise covered her ear slits, frowning. "why babby so /loud/??"

Xander frowns " It was..born like hour..or so ago and it fell asleep." He seems to debate on the holding it and then nods the ok, the newborn will calm some " Boy...no name..yet but have an idea but not sure others thoughts on nsme"

Isa looks confused when she sees the baby badger for the first time. She knows the sound of a crying baby by now and everyone said Krisha was having one though they were always a little unclear on the details of where she was getting it from. She gets up, cautiously getting closer so she can see but frowns again as she listens to the pair talking "...Is Krisha alright?" she asks very quietly, pretending not to be concerned.

LilyMoore gently cradles the baby. "aw, he's so cute! i can get him some milk, hold on." she heads off to the kitchen, taking the baby with her. gracie toddles over to the adult badger. "is muvver kwisha okays??" she echoes the question, not even trying to cover her worry, instead holding her blankie close. the bellringer returns a few moments later, still cuddling the baby. "a kitchen helper will be out in a minute with some milk for him. do you know anything about how krisha is? how are you holding up?"

Xander tenses and starts to follow and then just relaxes, a frown " I..don't...know" Its ok to not know..correct? He needs an uodate himself as he sits up better and keeps the frown." She..." He sighs again worry showing.

That appears to be the wrong answer as Isa's ears fold back and she looks down "Oh..." she says quietly and starts to walk away "She's dead" she says very quietly to Gracie on the way past.

upon hearing the kitten's guess, gracie gasps, her eyes welling up with tears. she takes a deep breath, and starts wailing. "i don't /wants/ 'er to be deads!!!" she manages to say before the crying becomes too much and she has to sit down, covering her head with her blanket. lilymoore rocks the baby badger gently to try and help him not start crying. scowling, she quietly reprimands isa (who she is suspicious gave the gosling that idea, even though she couldn't hear her -- gracie tends to ask first before she starts wailing): "you don't know that! you can't jump to conclusions! we just have to hope for the best, and trust the healers."

Xander frowns " No...she was alive." But he is concerned weather the words will end up true or not but he also is not gonna day oh she is fine when she isn't. " I am sure we will be told how she is soon." He looks at the, for now, calm newborn " I...May know a good name, but me and Krisha need to see others though on it...if like..name him after someone or not."

Isa hasn't done these things to be malicious! She's just answering Gracie's question. The kitten assumes it's true and adults just don't want to tell them. She retreats to curl up on a chair and lie there, picking at her tail "Was alive. Everyone dies" to be fair she has a really bad track record with parental figures.

LilyMoore sighs, realizing she probably just ruined something. a novice brings some milk from the kitchen for the baby and gives it to xander. the bellringer hands the baby off to him so he can feed it, then the mouse goes to scoop isa up and hold her. "i'm sorry, isa. i shouldn't've said it like that. you're right, everybeast dies someday. but we have to keep on hoping, and not assume the worst. okay?" the mouse walks over to Gracie and picks her up and cuddles her in her arms too. "it's going to be OK. I'm sure krisha is going to be just fine."

Xander nods and leans back. It takes a morment and the newborn is grumpy before its finally enjoying milk as Xander can relax some" SHe will be ok..the healers help her. SHe...has to be ok just seriously worn out" He is still worried but is trying not to be.Change subject as he looks at the peaceful cub." So..want to hear a possible name?"

Isa doesn't put up a fight when she's picked up but she does dangle limply and frown "But it's never good, they're always dead" she protests before pouting and at least allowing for the distraction of watching the cub now she can see it again "...Tha's too small t'be a stripedog"

gracie gets up on tip-toe, peering out from under her blankie to look at the baby. "I wantsa heaw its /name/," she informs xander, still a little teary-eyed. lilymoore shakes her head. "isa, stripedog is a mean name. please call them 'badgers.' and he's just the right size for a baby badger. you were that little once, too."

Xander replies " He is a small for his...age." He manages a smile,as the cub is sleeping again " I..dont know yet might name him....after Uncle Oz...that be nice I think "

Isa frowns as she's told off for stripedog "It's just wha' y'call them" she mutters in defiance before pouting again and staring at the baby. She tilts her head at the idea of calling it Oz "Y'can name babies the same thing?"

"it's not what good beasts call them. don't ever do it again," lilymoore grumps back. gracie peers more at the baby. "why name it aftew papa ozzie?" the bellringer sighs, realizing dealing with the kitten is going to take FOREVER. looking away from her, she smiles at the badger. "i love that idea! and i'm sure others will, too. what a beautiful way to honour oz."

Xander smiles and seems happy. He looks at the kitten " There is this squirrel in defenders and he has like 5 sons...all named Jeff..like him, now,THAT is odd."

Isa frowns again at Lily's words but doesn't argue again for now. Dealing with dibbuns takes a lifetime. She looks confused by the idea of an entire family of Jeffs "But 'ow do y'know which one y're yellin' at?"

gracie also looks confused. "'ows doos you knows which onesies which??" lilymoore frowns. "do they all have different middle names?" she shifts the kitten to her hip to make holding her easier.

Xander shrugs " I have no clue..." He glaces at the cub and a small smile " I am glad he is ok..." STill a. concern for Krisha but he is not, showing it, for the time being as to not worry others too much.

Isa looks puzzled once more "Middle names?...They give 'em more than one name so they could call 'em all Jeff?...They're weird" she scrambles a bit in to a more stable position when she's moved and then leans out far over LilyMoore's arm to stretch her head towards the baby, her ears perked and nose twitching "When's he goin' to be playin' with everyone else?"

gracie shrugs and toddles off to play with the others, her attention span not being that great. as she struggles to not drop the kitten, lilymoore frowns. "well, some beasts are weird, and that's just how it is. i think it's gonna be a few months before he's old enough to play with anyone."

Xander says, "right now his past times seem to be cry, sleep, eat. Then guess all babies do that. He will learn to walk and talk and...'He frowns a little "RUn around and stuff"

Isa glances at the other dibbun leaving but she has no desire to go join them so she stays, watching the badger cub "Oh...That seems like a long time. Will he be all big then?" she clearly has very little idea how babies work.

LilyMoore shakes her head. "no, he'll still be little. it'll take a long time for him to be big -- just like it's taking you a long time." she goes to set the cat on the floor before she actually drops her. dibbuns are difficult to keep hold of!

Xander yawns as he stands and holds his newborn son carefully " I Am gonna check on Krisha and then take a nap" He slowly heads up the steps after waving bye.

Isa considers this for a moment before she accepts this "Ok...I'm goin' to be big! Like a stripe..." she stops, looking at LilyMoore for a long pause after she nearly says stripedog again but manages to catch herself "...Badger" another pause and then she watches Xander leaving before she springs up to climb on to a chair with a lot more ease than she did when she first arrived "Maybe bigger than a badger"

LilyMoore waves to the badger. "see ya later!" smiling at the kitten, she says, "well, we'll see. hey, it's snack time, and i saw them making cookies earlier. let's go get the other dibbuns and go get our snacks, and see if those cookies were for us!" she holds out a paw to the feline, ready to escort her to the snack table. the cookies are for them, so the day just got a little better for the children of the abbey!

Isa's ears perk and she quickly looks around to make sure the other dibbuns haven't eaten everything already. She quickly jumps back down off the chair and grabs Lily's paw, going to try and pull the mouse along with her "Ok but y'gots to hurry or they'll eat them all!"

hey, y'all.  i sprained my wrist really badly a week ago.  i thought i had a minor fracture, but my doctor did x-rays and saw that there was no fracture, so it's just very badly sprained.  i'm in a fancy brace to immobilize my wrist so it can heal, but typing is hard, and painful after a while.  so i'll be slow with all my stuff for a while, and i may have to leave early if the pain gets to bad.

hope to rp soon smile

If Angela is in the group when whoever comes to steal the Dibbuns, she'll have to be knocked out some other way b/c she's so good w./ poisons and stuff that she'll recognize the drug and so won't drink/eat it.

This RP should be so much fun!  big_smile

Well, like a nincompoop, I misread who put up the pmails on this post.  I apologize, Greg.

I see your concerns, and I can understand them.  I really don't understand the OOC aspect of having everyone in different units, so if everyone who does understand it makes a mostly-unanimous decision, I'll go along with it smile  I'm mostly just trying to encourage group-wide discussions so we can all collaborate.  Even if it's about something I don't fully understand.

SCENE:
RW Abbey: Late Rose Garden
------------------------------------------------------------
The Rose garden offers solitude and peace from every-day life of the abbey.  A feeling of tranquility is presented through the roses and the open area that seems to flow over everything around.

Buds stud the plants along with greenery that shows through the last remnants of icicles that simplly /won't/ leave.  The last vestige of the winter snow has long since melted from the trainquil little spot -- seeing as it's a popular place for young couples it's no wonder that the new carpet of grass under foot is now trampled flat.  As it matures it will come back, but for now, it can remain flat. The little buds are already showing their colors, even a few of the early-bloomers beginning to come out and open up.  A lovely place to represent spring, no?
------------------------------------------------------------
Exits: (O)pen (G)round

CHARACTERS:  Benar, a male squirrel.  Gracie, a female gosling.  Various and a sundry spoofs.

LOG:
The Flower garden is awash with greenery and a riot of colours, fresh late spring colours it is also quite busy. The entirety of the DAB are currently here, the older ones picking flowers, the younger ones carrying baskets. It's just the DAB, or at least all the members of the DAB that the Abbot has been able to winkle out of them with the help of Krisha and Ginny.
All of them occasionally shooting fearful glances toward the Abbot. Word has spread around how they managed to accidentally break Sister Ginny's arm and put Mother Krisha in bed and the Abbot read them the riot act and now instead of afternoon play time after school they are helping the Abbot prepare things for the feast. As Mother Krisha can't be here he has them picking the flowers she needs to do some prepatory flower arrangements.
The Abbot has Brother Thomas, Sister Louise and Sister Rebecca helping him keep an eye on them as he sits in an iron chair at a small table and watches them all work.

Gracie the gosling is literally just walking by the flower garden, minding her own business. She is not part of the DAB -- hasn't been for absolutely AGES. So she's not worried that she needs to help work (and get her precious blankie dirty, to boot). Unfortunately, one of the more spiteful DABers spots her and points her out. "Whot 'bouts /'er/?? SHE bes naughty!" The poor little gosling honks in alarm, clutching her blankie close in mild terror. "I...I....I no be bads!" Also noteworthy, Squirrelbabe has somehow managed to escape the work order and is currently nowhere to be seen.

Benar looks up and over his glasses, "Gracie is not part of the DAB little one, nor was she responsible for the mess in the kitchen," he shakes his head, "Now back to work little one, though when you see Squirrelbabe, let her know for every job she skips it will go much harder for her in the long wrong." The abbot then turns, stern frown fading and smiles at Gracie, "Hello Gracie my dear, how are you doing today?" He is all smiles and warm towards her.

The DABer scowls and returns to work. Gracie is still nervous, but she dutifully waddles over to the Abbot on her webbed feet. "Um....um....I's okies. I dunnos where Squiwwelbabe's at. She's supew naughty." She hugs her blue blankie as close as possible. "Why you cuttin' all da pwetty flowews?"

Benar says, "Not all of them," He gestures at the garden, "We grow so many that if we do not take a few of them inside there would be too many," he smiles at the little one, "We are going to take them inside and give to mother Krisha who is not feeling well."

Frowning, Gracie tries to understand. "'Ow cans there be's too many flowews?" She picks a dandelion and holds it close. "Whys Muvvew Kwisha not /feeling/ well? Dids da baby in hew tummy make hew no /feel/ well? Is Muvvew Kwisha gonna gets all better wif da flowews in 'er woom?" It makes logical sense when you look at what the Abbot said.

Benar says, "Yes dear, the flowers in her room will help Mother Krisha smile, maybe you can help me take them up to her later..." he points a finger at a mole dibbun trying to sneak off, seemingly noticing them without looking around. In reality Louise gave him the nod but to the dibbuns it looks like he has eyes in the back of his head, "You... Regi, back to work," the mole sighs and trundles back to the others. "But yes the baby in her tummy means Mother Krisha is very tired."

Gracie smiles the tiniest bit. "I coulds 'elp? I wanna 'elps Muvvew Kwisha smile!" She watches, wide-eyed, as the Abbot chastizes Regi, having also missed Louise tipping him off. The gosling wilts a tiny bit. "Um....uh, why da baby makes 'ew /tiwed/? Can she makes it stop? I wants to play wif da baby." Because little kids tend to have many disconnected thoughts.

Benar smiles, "The baby is still growing inside Mother Krisha, but they will be with us soon i am told, just a couple more weeks at most," he stands up and looks at the flowers, "I think that is enough everyone, bring your baskets over here then you may all go."

Gracie looks nonplussed. Babies grow inside their mommies? What bizarre new information! But she is distracted by the other Dibbuns bringing over their baskets. Gracie shuffles nervously as some of them glare at her a little. She hugs her blankie and preens her wing. The DABers take their leave as soon as they can, escaping to go do whatever in the world Dibbuns like to do with their lives.

Benar stands up and offers his hand to Gracie as he picks up the larger basket Sister Louise has just transferred the flowers into, "So Gracie, shall we go give these to Mother Krisha?"

Gracie hesitates, then nods, slipping the tip of her wing into his paw. "I wantsta makes Muvvew Kwisha smile! Do you fink she'll like dis?" She holds up the dandelion, which she has suddenly decided to give to the badger as a gift.

Benar says, "I think she will like that more then all these," he jiggles his basket, "Because you picked it for her Gracie."

Grinning, Gracie looks immensely proud. "Den let's go!" The gosling goes to lead him to the Badger Mother's room, eager to present her gift. Well, and the other flowers, too, but let's face it: her dandelion holds center stage now.

Benar heads off with Gracie toward the abbey building, the pair heading to the Badger Mother's room to deliver their flowers, it is a bit of a walk from the garden back to the abbey and the Abbot is taking it slowly for Gracie's sake. "So what else have you done today Gracie?"

The gosling has to think for a minutes. "Well.....I did /school/, an' I don't like /mafs/. I ate /cookies/ wif lunch, an' I /drawed/, an' I pwayed wif Lily an' Butterclaw 'cause she's /fun/ an' he no makes fun of me. Biwds are /scawy/." Seeing as how Gracie is a bird, that's a sad statement. Although seeing as how she's a very nervous creature, it also doesn't say much. Everything scares her to some degree. That's why she has her blankie with her at all times.

Benar says, "Well that is no good," he smiles down at her, "Not all birds are scary, I should introduce you to some of my bird friends, they won't make fun of you either," He smiles, making a note to talk to Krisha about how nervous Gracie is, they'll have to do something to encourage that out of her gently, "Well let's head inside and give these to Mother Krisha," he opens the door back inside and waits for her to go first, "I am sure she will love them."

Yes, I had forgotten about the webpage, Krisha.  You're absolutely right, that should be a group thing, as well.

Gregorian now needs to go tell Dom the same stuff he told Zolomon wink

In all seriousness, I like how Z's player is handling the psychological aspect of this.  It seems realistic to me smile

Okay people.  I think it would be wise if all discussions about this TP arch thing be moved to this post.  This will keep everyone accountable so no one tries to solely be in charge of the TP, and this will also allow those of us who aren't involved to be able to suggest ideas for the next RP set so that way, if the players involved are stumped when it comes to ideas, we're already here to help smile

I have Otter's input!

He said that collaboration is the best way to RP because otherwise the MUCK will die.  It's much better to just let people PLAY than to try to control them for RL status or whatever.  He is always up for letting people play together instead of telling them how they should play.

Jinora has been gone for a number of months, and I at least am hoping everything is okay with her.  Additionally, it kind of brings up the question of "what are we supposed to do now?"

First off, I want to point out that, as of yet, she has not told us if she's gone indefinitely or if she's just gone until summer; we are receiving conflicting reports from people.  I have emailed her, but until she tells us for certain either way, we should just assume she's gone indefinitely.  I think we can vaguely say ICly that Jinora is conducting private business without getting any more specific than that italicized bit, wordlessly let Isla melt back into one of the nameless NPCs, and just ignore the rest of her characters.  That way, if/when she returns, she won't have too much to deal with.  What we say about Jinora is vague enough that she could literally make it into anything.

Secondly....

This game is and always should be a huge collaboration.  We all should work together, discuss things, and generally come to conclusions and decisions together.  No single player should be in charge of anything more than their own players.  That's why I'm always trying to create discussions about what we should be doing, what events we should do and when, what uniforms and stuff should look like, and so forth.  We should all be working together as a team.

No one is going to be in control of the group.  If anyone tries to gain control, tell Otter, and feel free to tell me, too.  We are all in this game together, and we should be working together; we don't have room for anyone other than Otter to be in charge.

We've been talking about what to do now that Jinora's gone, and I would request that we move the discussion here so it's out in the open and everyone can look back at it and better see what we have agreed on.

I think we should move everyone who is active into 1 patrol just for the sake of everything making more sense.

SCENE:
Salamandastron: Training Room
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Salamandastron *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
This is the training room for the hares of the long patrol.  The walls
seem to have taken a severe beating, more than likely not from stray
arrows missing the archery targets.  There are several of said archery
targets lining the west wall, each with small oak stands a good distance
off to hold arrows, hang a bracer, and rest a bow on.  The targets are of
simple design: a large, tightly wrapped bale of hay with a coarse paper
target on the front.  A wooden mannequin, in no better shape than the
walls, is in the northeastern corner of the room.  Besides that, several
wooden practice swords sit in a small pile.  On the eastern side of the
room is a small, makeshift wrestling arena consisting of two mattresses
tied together.  Then on the southern side of the room is a fitness area,
assembled from several pull-up bars, and a nice padded area to do push up.
Narrow, cylindrical weights (both wooden and metal) are pushed up against
the wall, along with a few straight metal bars for them to be mounted on.

                  Visible Exits:
(Arm)ory                              (Out)

CHARACTERS:  All hares.
Dominik, male.  Felicity, female.  Various spoofs.

LOG:
It had been a couple of days since Dominik had learned that the entire reason he had left home to come to the mountain and be a patrol hare was entirely nonexistent. He had initially taken this news hard, having retreated down to his usual hiding place down in the catacombs. After brooding there for awhile and trying to come to terms with things, and thinking things over for awhile, the large hare had decided to return to his duties training the recruits in the boxing ring. Perhaps it might take his mind off of things if he could focus on one particular task. And focus he does, much to the likely dismay of the students who happened to be in his class that day. It is near the end of one such class, and Dom is standing in the middle of the training room, a pawful of recruits lying on the floor around him. Some of them are groaning, others are nursing bumps and bruises, and one of them is standing there in front of Dom as they try their best to avoid the blows that the large hare is raining down on them.
"MOVE! MOVE! MOVE!" he barks at a fast pace, the student hare desperately trying to keep up, and he is not doing very well.

Felicity has been feeling miserable this entire time, confident that it is entirely her fault. The doe had been able to focus on her duties during this time, and her Recruits and Privates have hated it also. She, too, has been especially hard on them, taking the anger she feels towards herself out on them. In short, the Recruits of the Mountain are probably wondering why in the world they joined the Long Patrol in the first place. Now the Sergeant enters the training room and watches the spectacle, feeling that ache in her heart return as her busyness reaches a lull. She watches for a few minutes, then comes forward and says, "Y'dead now, Recruit. Leahn t'move fastah. Take dancin' lessons, they actually do 'elp."

Dominik takes the opportunity of Felicity's distraction, which causes said student to mistakenly turn his head, to show the student how big a mistake it was to be distracted...especially in a fight. He massive hare's knee thuds into the recruit's middle, causing him to double over. Dom then gives a sharp, precise kick to the other hare's forehead, causing him to drop to the floor like a bag of rocks. Breath heaving, Dom hovers over the downed recruit, glowering over him and glaring a hole right through him. "NO! Is pathetic. Ve not have Patrol here, ve have bunch of weak leverets." He gives him a nudge with his footpaw, before his attention shifts to Felicity. The doe is a recipient of an initial hard, cold glare, but after the adrenaline of the moment begins to fade, his gaze softens yet shifts away from her as he goes about picking up various dropped weapons from the floor. "Get out," he rumbles to the students. "Class over." The tone of his voice may be even scarier lower than it is when it booms across the    entire mountain. The students pick themselves up and begin to silently file out, knowing better than to whine and complain when Dom's in one of his moods.

Oh, the glare! Felicity wilts inside, feeling the ache deepen. However, she doesn't show it, just watches the Recruits head out the door. As the last one leaves, her shoulders sag some. "Well. Good week it's been, wot. Um..." Yeah, she's not sure what to say right now. That glare kind of put whatever she had to say out of her mind, and she's struggling to remember it.

Dominik goes about the room, silently replacing the various training weapons and things he'd been using in his class. Every now and then he'll pass in front of Felicity, but the doe doesn't get a glance from him, at first. To her words, which seem to be an attempt at small talk, Dom gives a chuff. "No." is his response. "Not good veek." His voice still holds a bit of a chill, though inwardly Dom is aware that Felicity really wasn't to blame for what had happened. Still, their conversation from the other day still stung a little, his confusion moreso the reason behind his current demeanor more than anything else. The large buck continues to go about his business, cleaning things up, straightening other things, but never looking directly at Felicity.

Felicity wilts on the outside a little now. "'Twas sahcasm," she mumbles, then swallows. Oh, yeah, she remembers what she came in here to say. "Dom....'bout ouh convahsation...from last week....'M sorry. I didn't know, an' I didn't realize whot was gonna 'appen, an' I didn't mean t' 'urt you, an' I'm sorry..." She looks like she might cry.

Dominik listens to Felicity's words, this being obvious by the way his ears give little twitches. He pauses, his back to the doe as he stares at the wall for a moment. His eyes narrow, gaze shifting downwards towards his footpaws. The staff he is currently holding in a paw tenses up in his grip, before he lifts it and snaps it in half, cleanly. He flings it away, the two pieces hitting the floor with a clatter. "Vhy?" he seethes, his voice starting low, before rising in volume. "VHY???" He then turns back around to face Felicity, the buck's paws both clenched at his sides, his eyes blazing as his ears fold against the back of his head. "Dom's whole purpose, whole reason for beink here...is gone. IS GONE!" The buck turns back away again..."Dom has no reason to exist. Family...is gone. Dom...should be vith them, and not here. Dom...should not exist. Should have been on beach, ven attacked."

It takes Felicity a few minutes to realize he's not mad at her. Then she relaxes....and then gets a little mad, herself. "Oh, really? An' then where'd I be? 'Ave y'seen 'ow many friends I 'ave, Dom? Or, should I say, 'ow few? Where would I be? An' th'leverets? D'y'really think y'got nothin' t'live foh? Whot am I, chopped seaweed? Do th'leverets really mean nothin' t'ya?" She stays where she is 'cause she's not stupid.

Dominik begins to slowly pace back and forth, his paws still clenched at his sides as he listens to Felicity. When she is finished, he pauses to look at her, before his pacing resumes. "These are things Dom found later. Whole reason Dom came to mountain, whole reason Dom join Patrol vas to vun day find that ship." The buck frowns. "Ven ship vas found, Dom vould have sunk it vith own two paws." He stares down at his paws, slowly flexing them as he stares. "Vould have killed anyvun who tried to escape. But now..." He shakes his head. "Now, there is no vay Dom can bring peace to family. No way Dom can bring peace to self." He once again turns to face Felicity. "Dom has failed family...he has failed himself." The buck's voice cracks a little, his eyes shifting down to the floor as his shoulders slump.

Felicity looks to the floor, too, thinking. The she walks over to him, paws out to touch his arm if he stands still long enough. "'Twasn't y'fault, though. Y'did y'best. Anybeast who asks foh mohe isn't a good creatah t'be listenin' to. Sure, we ask th'Recruits foh more'n tha', but that's 'cause we're tryin' t' 'elp 'em not get killed. This....may'ap y'fam'ly is at peace 'cause y'found a 'ome, an' a reason t'keep livin'. May'ap th'things y've found latah are th'things Fate was guidin' y'to, knowin' y'needed a new fam'ly." She pauses for a moment. "Besides, whot would y' 'ave done 'ad y'done tha' an' survived? Whot purpose would y'life 'ave 'ad then?"

Dominik allows Felicity to touch his arm, the large buck giving a heavy sigh as he begins to gradually calm from the initial bout of anger. As Felicity asks him what he would've done after he accomplished his task, Dom has to pause to think about that. It wasn't really something he'd honestly ever really sat and thought about for any amount of time, and so he is briefly at a loss for words. Finally, when he speaks, his voice is quiet, as he lifts his paws in the air. "...don't know. Vas not planning on living long enough to find out." So he more than likely was planning it to be a suicide mission, more than anything else. Even despite his massive size, he likely wouldn't have survived attacking a pirate ship full of vermin simply on his own.

Felicity allows her sorrow and little bit of hurt to show. "Oh, so y'were gonna join th'Patrol, make friends, then just leave us 'angin'? Go off an' die without a second though as t' 'ow 'twould make us feel? 'Ow it'd make th'leverets wondah why their big friend Dom just up an' left 'em? Whot kind o' friend would tha' make ya, I ask?" She takes a step back and crosses her arms. "Did y'evah think 'bout anybeast else? Any o' us who're y'friends? Or were y'too focused on revenge t'care?"

Dominik frowns, the buck giving a shake of his head at Felicity's words. "NO. Vas never suppose to make friends..." he admits. "Dom knew vat might happen if he did, and so vas alvays trying to avoid others. Did not need friends, did not vant friends to be hurt ven Dom left to do his task." The large hare sighs. "Vas never suppose to be vun who vatches leetle vuns, either. Look at Dom, Felicity. Vould -you- ever trust Dom to vatch them, if you did not know he vas good at this? None of this..." he waves a paw..."...vas supposed to happen. Dom come here, Dom train. Ven feels is good enough, Dom leave to find ship. Ven ship is found, sink ship. And Dom vould never be seen again."

Felicity can feel her temper flaring, although she's trying to keep it in check. "Oh, well, tha's fantastic! Whot was even th'point o' joinin' th'Patrol, then? There's some rogue mercenary groups out thah who'd 'm sure 'ave loved t'train y't'be some kind o' killin' machine without carin' t'be y'friends." She hugs herself and takes a step back, tears threatening as she gets more upset at him. "I can't e'en belileve y'right now! I..." she can't even figure out how to put what she's thinking and feeling into words. He's made her more upset than she's been at a friend in quite a while.

Dominik feels a little bit of his anger returning, and he glares down at Felicity, his voice turning cold. "Do NOT dare judge me..." he replies, voice low. "Am not going to stand here and listen. Dom has more trainings to do..." The buck turns and begins to go about his previous routine again. "Is not Dom's fault things turned out this vay. If Felicity is finished and has nothink else to say, then leave." The buck bristles a little, a frown upon his muzzle as he peers back over a shoulder at her, ears folded, before he turns his attention back towards what he is doing.

Felicity flinches, and a tear trickles down her cheek. She stands there in silence for a few moments, just staring at him. The anger hardens her, and she straightens and stiffens. "Fine. But 'tis y'own fault tha' y'pushin' away th'only friend y'really 'ave 'ere. Good bye." She storms out of the room, slamming the door shut behind her, more tears flooding down her cheeks as she leaves one of the few friends she has, too.
