Krisha is outside today, the dibbuns are getting some time off classes to use up energy, play in the snow while its still around,run around and just have fun.Krisha even helps build some sort of snowbeast.

Xander steps into the open ground and chuckles a little, he walks slowly over to Krisha and clears his throat"I..need to go to Ferravale, check on the hut and tavern and..do couple things, and there is the base to check on too" He waits on a reply .

Krisha sighs how many times has she heard going elsewhere, well least he is warning her this time "I am sure things are fine Xander and are you sure travel is wise right now?Your wounds are not really that healed up yet, I mean doing too much...."She closes her eyes, not she will not argue with him."Thought you left Patch in charge of the tavern."

Xander says, "I mean...I did..sort of, he gets upset when I am not there, some of wot he says is true...not all of it and I don't want him upset with me so need to have a talk with him about the tavern"

Krisha takes him aside letting Sister Ginny and Sister Anna tend the dibbuns for just a few morments."Look Xander...Patch can be upset all he wants, you should be here more often and I cant go with you to Ferravale, travel too far isn't wise and I have my Badger Mother duties as well and why do you have a hut in Ferravale, there is that old room here and you can also be in my room too you know...there is meals here, even if needed that area behind the champion house to do exercies or the clearing thats half an hour away works. I worry and that causes stress and stress is not good"

Xander listens and lets her finish before he replies "The hut is so I dont have to always walk back here as...often"Ok that sounded bad. "I mean..it use to belong to Uncle Zee ya know, the only things there through are his chest and a hamock, thats all"

Krisha backs up "Not be here as..."She shakes her head and frowns now"I..forgave you for the birds, I forgave you for the times you walked off and didn't tell me but maybe you do need to figure out if you rather be in Ferravale, or here cause you can't call both...home, and I have no reason to be there, not since father died...in fact the Blacksmith shop I have given ownership to Blisa for now, she can best decide whom takes it over"She pulls out a letter and hands it to Xander "Since your clearly going anyways."

Xander takes the letter and watches her "I am sorry but sometimes it takes...a few days to sort things out at the tavern, check things and such and Patch has done very well, maybe I worry too much but I do own it, and beasts expect me at the tavern you know, a lot respect me there...yeah some don't but..."

Krisha asks, "But wot? Maybe you just don't worry about the right things" She goes to head back to the dibbuns"Now if you excuse me I need to get back to the dibbuns"

Xander lays a paw on her shoulder "Wot is that supposed to mean?I mean..I hae no clue what all goes on in the tavern sometimes and Patch was not willing to talk much couple weeks ago and I need to talk with him, sooner the better"

Krisha starts to shoove his paw away and then takes it and lays it on her midsection, about that same time the baby moves as it kicks a couple times,she then lets go of his paw but not letting him get close again not right now.

Xander blinks and just stands there.A curious look and a what the look, "It's..moving?" He reaches out a paw and then lowers it "That's...."He isn't sure what to say but he does smile some now.

Krisha smiles briefly but she is also upset with him, "Our child,who I hope we both can meet."She frowns now as she looks at Xander "You have a week...."She seems to rethink "Two weeks to do what ever in Ferravale and use the time to think,you best start walking so you get there by dinner or least before the tavern closes for the night"She heads back to the dibbuns an the Abbey Sisters now.

Xander stays where he is "Krisha....."He sighs, watches her a few morments before he heads to the entry and then on up the road.He does get there after it's dark but he was never really worries on traveling too far in the dark.

Krisha meanwhile lets the dibbuns have fun in the snow....snow beasts are build, a snow ball fight is had and then it's inside for apple juice and cookies, a little treat for being good the past few weeks.

Minsc-Champion at Willowbark Abbey

Minsc has recently returned to the abbey, for a simple visit and so far he seems to have not picked the best time for a visit.

Krisha is sitting up in bed, she has rested a day and they still want her to rest more. She looks fine, bored maybe but fine. She has yet to see the hamster.

Minsc was not sure why he came in here, he starts to leave when he sees the badger and walks over "It is Krisha, hello...why are you in here for?"

Krisha blinks, wait she knows this hamster.."Minsc?" He smiles and gets a concerned look "Did something happen at Willowbark?"

Minsc smiles "Nothing, all is well in Willowbark..I just needed to visit friends and visit father. It seems much has changed but then change can be good..or bad"

Krisha smiles "It’s good all is well...and I am resting a couple days, I am...with dibbun"She lays a paw on her mid section that is starting to show now.

Minsc steps closer and sits in a chair as he smiles "Oh..so parents again then, is nice.."He hmmms "Guessing you are needing to be careful yes?"

Krisha nods "Yes last time I was..with dibbun.."She sighs “I don’t want it to happen again."

Minsc says, "of course not. I am sure sir Xander is happy...where is he anyways?"

Krisha says, "Somewhere in the abbey or least he is supposed to be and yeah he is happy. I am the Badgermother now..since middle of Summer about"

Minsc says, "Oh.."Well this is big news for him “Something happen to Oz then?"

Krisha frowns now "He...died, they think he still had some problems..hidden injuries from when Ormaz was here.He went into a coma type faint and a week later....died"

Minsc frowns at the news "This is..sad news...but I am glad to be seeing you are now Badger Mother, he choose well"

Krisha smiles as she shrugs "I suppose, I do wonder at times but I have done fairly well so far..I have more helpers than he did as I know he rarely took a break from the dibbuns"

Minsc smiles "I say he knew what he was doing and choose very well indeed, he knew and trusted you to their care"

Krisha smiles "I just wish he had been around longer, I still had to learn some things, then guess...somethings are just see how goes...I also had to learn some languages he...didn’t get to teach me, like mole...I knew some sparrow and could speak to a lizard if needed, I know a lot more sparrow now...mole is at times tricky still"

Minsc says, "Mole is odd I say...I had to learn seal and sea lion they have groups by Willowbark Abbey..and sea gulls as well."

Krisha says, "Never seen a seal or sea lion yet...sea gull once"

Minsc says, "Would be rare sight here indeed for them, any of the 3 of them. But I am here for visit...likely few weeks and then head home"

Krisha nods "I am sure Brother Gorvenalus will be happy to see you, he's likely in the library but he does help in the infirm sometimes as well.When did you get to the abbey?"

Minsc says, "I got here just an hour ago...the GOUSIM lead me here when they were checking on their camp."

Krisha nods "I would help you find him but they are making me stay in bed till tomorrow"

Minsc says, "It is fine, I can find father later as he is likely busy. So I will visit others as I find them or maybe in some cases not fine them"

Krisha says, "Gorvenalus is still around not to worry, Benar is still abbot...let’s see Lacota friar...Ferravale still has its leaders but they do have a master healer. A ferret named Nardo"

Minsc says, "I was not worried if father was not here someone would of told me by now."

Krisha nods, she smiles "It’s good to know you’re doing well and that your home is ok. Visits just to visit is always nice"

Minsc chuckles "Cold time to visit but got most of the way to Mossflower...ship will later meet me for trip back...Willowbark helped a swan so that was part of the ride here"

Krisha smiles "Winter of the deep snow was the title...some worry it will also be Spring of the flooded Moss but hopefully not"

Minsc says, "Maybe I will be around for Spring Feast hmmm"

Krisha says, "We don’t have a day for that even, I do know there was talk of a story time at the fire pit but not sure when that is or if it will even happen or not, the abbot has yet to decide"

Minsc says, "A story time at the fire pit sounds most interesting indeed. I have many stories from Willowbark I could tell"

Krisha says, "The abbot may be waiting till its warmer, also with the shrews losing Lyra that could be a factor as well."

Minsc hmmms "I heard of Lyra...yes, sad sad news. I am hoping for no more of the sad news but it has been...what over 4 seasons since been here"

Krisha says, "It’s been a while yes but your always welcome to visit any time you want"

Minsc smiles "Thank you. I think I will let you get your rest, Mother Krisha..maybe talk to you later. I am off to find father or maybe other friends"

Krisha nods "Have a good day” She then closes her eyes to take a nap, naps are nice

Xander walks slowly down the steps, he has spent a few days in the infirm and is still sore. One can see claw marks still on the top of his head going down to his back where most is hidden by his tunic, they are healing but slowly as he finds a place to sit and sits down to be by the fireplace a little while. He has been able to leave the infirm but with orders to check back in every couple days.

Benar walks in from outside, pausing to shut the large doors of the abbey, he pauses as he sees Xander and frowns, "I see you managed to get in trouble again...." He turns and starts for the stairs to Cavern Hole, "I am getting a bit tired of you using this Abbey as an open door infirmary Xander for whatever stupid thing you have done this month, leaving Krisha to worry herself sick that you are in danger yet again."

Xander frowns, "This is...yeah my fault, I did something....."He sighs "Let's just say angered someone who misunderstood exactly wot it was..could of been worse and think Krisha is..mad at me, seems she is avoiding me the past...well few days" frowns.

Benar turns to stare at the badger from across the hall, "Are you surprised she is mad at you? You leave her here for weeks at a time, running that tavern in Ferravale, scampering around the woods as a Defender, then half the time when you do turn up you are injured and the only thing stopping you from dying is the fact Redwall is open to all and will aid all regardless.... you need to shape up, you are going to be a father and this... this is how you treat your pregnant wife?" He turns and starts down the stairs, "It's no wonder she is angry with you."

Xander frowns now as he starts to get up and decides to just stay seated, "I'm....sorry Abbot Benar. I been thinking of...letting someone else take over the tavern, but I don't know...I know I should be here more...than I am and I..want to....do better. I want beasts to not hate me.

Benar stops, his head just visible as he turns back, "I do not hate you Xander, neither does Krisha, we are just disappointed in you," The Abbot turns and vanishes down the stairs, his sandals thumping and as he leaves Matilda's head appears coming up from cavern hole. The hedgehog is looking back after the abbot as he departs, "What has him so grumpy? That's unlike the Abbot," She turns and pauses as she sees Xander, "Ah... Xander... let me guess, you got the = am disappointed in you =speech?"

Xander sighs as he nods "Yeah...."He frowns "If my Uncle was still around he probably give me a lecture by now."He leans back in his chair "Sometimes I wonder if I should even be a warrior anymore..maybe change some other things." He frowns "I angered that old sparrow..king, my own fault even if it was a misunderstanding."

Matilda walks over to stand beside Xander's chair, the hedgehog looking down at him, "You are a good warrior and from what the defenders tell me a good leader," She shakes her head, "But there is a time and place to take risks and be a warrior and a time to stay home brewing ale."

Xander says, "I don't know much on brewing ale..I can make a lot of different teas...Patch makes the ales at the tavern and has some help from this ferret...I also am good at making cookies and bread..and..."He frowns now "One..other thing but not gonna ever make it again and never made it here or Ferravale, make it in the woods few times" He frowns "Did...bring some here and ate it once at the firepit and shouldn’t of"

The hedgehog laughs, "I was talking about me, I brew ales when I am not training or when I don't have duties as the champion," She smiles, "What did you bring to the fire pit you shouldn't have? I can't think of anything that isn't allowed... I mean we serve all sorts out of the kitchen. Unless you were chowing down on a bird I can't think of anything that isn't allowed."

Xander frowns, he seems to not want to say much, like mentioning wood pigeon as he sighs "Let's...not worry about it..sides it’s the past and won't happen again trust me.."He starts to lean back and tenses in pain as his back hurts still and likely will fer another week or so but scars will remain.

Matilda nods and then winches, "You sure did a number on yourself there... why are you going around upsetting the Sparra King anyway?"

Xander frowns and sighs "He....thought..."He frowns, ok he will say it "some other sparrow told him I was...eating sparrow and I wasn't...but I was...honest cause being honest is good." He is quiet before he speaks "I..ate..wood pigeon...I use to make it for that wildcat Jedrick and...even after he was gone..I did make it a couple times in the woods....but never again, never anywhere....ever again “He frowns and stares at the floor now.

Matilda quirks her ears at that and rattles her quills, "Well... that's no wonder the Sparra was upset at you, Sparrow or Pidgeon, that's still a bird, I am quite sure the Sparra don't see much difference between someone eating a pigeon or a sparrow or any other kind of bird."

Xander frowns " I am sorry and..if beasts don't want me here after admitting that..I can...go but I do need to stay at the abbey more often, like said...been debating on leaving the tavern in someone else’s..paws"

She frowns then shakes her head, "Well Xander I wouldn't eat it, but every beast has different needs, the Abbey serves fish at it's feasts but... most birds can talk Xander... I can see why everyone would be upset." she smiles and pats his shoulder, "But don't give in or give up ok, now I need to go talk to Elmef,"

Xander nods as he sighs "Ok....but yeah no more wood pigeon fer me...ever" He watches her go and frowns as he has a lot to think on now.

Benar walks up from downstairs, the abbot carrying a jug in one hand as he moves toward his chair

Xander is still here, in the same chair but is kind of half asleep now.He does move slightly when the abbot reenters the room.

Benar moves over to his chair by the fire, settling down, he pours himself a drink and picks up his knitting, starting to work on it.

Xander opens his good eye and watches Benar, he doesn’t say anything for a long while as he slowly sits up and then speaks ."Can...I ask you advise...on how to do better...."He adds "Sir...please. I know I can be..a disappointment and upset beasts and the last one I want to upset is Krisha, she..she don't need stress right now and I know that and..I don’t want to cause her more, stress could be harmful"

Benar looks up over his knitting and frowns, "I can give you advice Xander, in fact I have done so in the past but you aren't very good at listening, but my best advice is decide what you wish to be. Are you a barkeeper in Ferravale, are you a Defender, a warrior, or are you Krisha's husband and father to your child."

Xander frowns as he listens "I.....I have to choose just one. I mean I am leader of the Defenders...I c..can’t not be that but I know I need to be here for Krisha, but also being a warrior helps keep the area safe..."

Benar says, "Well something in your life is not working Xander," he leans back, knitting needles moving, "You can't keep crashing from one disaster to another, if being a Defender and Krisha's husband do not work then you need to give one up." He shakes his head, "Most of the warriors I know are only warriors when something threatens Mossflower, Dora is my gatekeeper, Matilda makes beer, everyone has something they do that isn't being a warrior, that is what you lack, a purpose in your life that isn't running a tavern a day’s march away from where your wife lives."

Xander sighs "I....."He frowns "I don't..know.I do have other skills. I can cook, make teas...maybe Patch could...then again" He shakes his head "Patch would likely blow up the tavern, though he hasn't...he actually has gone a lot..makes the ale, all I do is, double check the lists "He frowns “I don’t even know how to make ale and been reminded of that by Patch...a lot and stuff on the roads and woods been quiet."He isnt sure anyone updated the abbot on why he is injured or not.

Benar looks over at Xander, "Your problem Xander is you are trying to do too much, you are trying to run a tavern in Ferravale, whilst also being husband to the Badgermother of Redwall and soon a father. You cannot be a father or a proper husband whilst running a business so far away from where your wife lives," He shakes his head, "You are also constantly running off into danger, without a thought for your wife or friends."

Xander sighs as he seems to sink into the chair more "I..don’t even know if I want to run the tavern anymore....as for...danger, least the last one wasn’t ...."He frowns and just is quiet.

Krisha starts to enter the room and just stays by the doorway for now, she even seems to be deciding on going the long way to somewhere but doesn't just yet and she has heard what happen with Xander thanks to a novice who saw it happen.

Benar looks at Xander, "Yes... well I don't want to know Xander, I am sure you can explain it all to Krisha but if you are going to have a argument with her do it in private please and not in front of all the dibbuns."

Xander frowns "She knows what happen...it's why she's....mad at me."

Krisha snorts slightly and slips into the kitchens letting them talk more, she has managed to talk the kitchen staff into snacks before dinner, maybe some extra tea too it seems if anyone else wants some.

Benar says, "Well I am surprised she hasn't thrown you out, you've been reckless, again Xander, you need to decide who and what you are in life. Not keep crashing from one thing to the next."

Xander nods, "I...know...but...it’s not like I would join the order or ..something...but maybe just try to...relax more?"

Benar says, "You do not have to join the order to live here Xander, you need to live here with your wife, be a father to your child, not living in another village, a day’s travel from here."

Krisha enters the room and puts a pot of tea down, just some simple tea they make a lot of at the abbey, there is even some scones as she sits down in her own chair quietly sipping some tea and nibbling a scone, though her scone has some hot root on it and some sliced onions....yeah its odd but it’s one of those odd cravings, the other scones are normal berry ones. She remains silent for now.

Xander starts to speak more when he sees Krisha and frowns when she isn’t saying hello or even anything, he looks at Benar and looks worried, he leaves the tea and scones alone.

Benar looks from one badger to the other then sets his knitting in his basket, "I should leave the pair of you to talk, i think you have a lot to talk about"

Krisha eats her scone, a sip of tea "I am fine Benar just a small break while the dibbuns are in math class with Brother Rick"

Benar stands up, "I think you both need to have a very long talk about Xander and where he is going to live as father to your child, me I am going to my office."

Xander looks..kind of willing to talk but just slowly stands as he looks ready to walk off, hopefully somewhere in the abbey still.

Krisha keeps her calm and nods "Yes....when he is willing" Ok she is grumpy but refuses to let herself sound grumpy right now.

Benar heads to his office “I will be in my office”

Krisha makes her way outside and looks for Xander, she knows he went out here

Xander is sitting by the wall, on the ground well least he isn’t on the wall top as he was earlier but has lucky came down.

Krisha walks up to him and holds back an urge to scream at him "Xander...look at me, talk to me" She isn't happy right now.

Xander frowns but slowly looks up and at Krisha from where he sits and speaks "Krisha...I'm sorry..I am and as you see I did’nt leave the abbey..I am still here, but I should check on the tavern"

Krisha shakes her head"Of COURSE..ya know just go"She starts to storm off when a wave of dizziness hits her and she stumbles, lucky managing to not harm her midsection or anything near it when she slipped on the ice, but she may of sprang her wrist when she caught herself.

Xander stands and reaches out, he then is rushing to her "Krisha!" He quickly is making sure she is ok."Krisha....are you hurt?Wot happen..."

Krisha frowns" Dizzy...not gotten much sleep past couple days, and ice..."She shakes her head "I'm..not hurt.."She manages to stand and frowns "My wrist hurts...that’s all"

Xander scoops her up and carries her to the infirmary"Your going to get checked out by the healers."He is worried, it shows and ever since what happen with Lyra...he is gonna worry even more at every little thing.

Krisha lets him carry her and as she is laid down healers check her,they get the sister that has helped pregnant beasts and double and triple check her before speaking to Xander.

Xander frowns"She is ok right? And the baby is ok? I don’t wanna lose....either of them...."

The Sister Gemima smiles "She is ok, she only sprang her wrist...but she is on bed rest the next couple days, she needs to get some sleep...lack of sleep and some unneeded stress caused this, and the ice patch didn’t help, you may see her but please no stress or you WILL be thrown out of the abbey" An otter grins at him, oh yes please let me throw him out that grin says.

Xander frowns, "I won't..."He heads inside and sits by Krisha as he takes her paw and kisses it"Krisha....."He looks to her."Love.."

Krisha glaces at Xander and looks away"You should go before it gets dark."

Xander speaks "I am staying here....well in the abbey they said you need rest" He speaks "i am so sorry Krisha. I shouldnt be so far away for like days and..shouldn’t cause stress....I am an idiot. You need me and...the child will need me and I am sure the tavern is just fine..with Patch and...who knows maybe Patch..should run it."He leans down to kiss her but is unsure of weather to or not, he knew how angry she really was earlier.

Krisha sighs, but she listens to him and pulls his closer so she can kiss him "I love you.....and yes you’re an idiot at times but...your my idiot "A small smile."I..if you need to check the tavern at times, you can....or let Patch know, your needed here."She yawns and looks ready to fall asleep.

Xander smiles, "Love you too....."He stands up and makes sure she is comfortable “I will be in the abbey I promise Krisha"

Sister Gemima nods "Shooo now....let her rest, you can see her tomorrow" She looks to the Badger Mother who looks to be sleeping peacefully and back to Xander again "She is fine just she needs to make sure she gets rest, a lot less stress, as for the sprang wrist that should be fine in a couple days.That slip on ice could of been a lot worse, she got very lucky her wrist was the only thing hurt, and lucky its just a sprang, lucky not a bad one either."

Xander still holds Krisha's non sore paw as he nods "I know....I can use my old room me and Krisha had before she was Badger Mother, is,that alright?"

The Sister nods "Yes it should be fine, now go I need to let the abbot know Mother Krisha has a couple days off"

Krisha had gotten a message from a novice that Xander had been injuried,but not how he was, it seemed the novice didn't want to share and so the Badger Mother waited till she had free time and went to the infirmary to check on Xander and find out from him what happen.

Xander laid on his side on the cot, a healer was checking the long claw marks that went from the top of his head and a little over half way down his back. They were deep,but not dangerous deep and they hurt a lot,even more so when the healer was trying thier best to clean them.

Krisha stands off to the side and frowns deeply as she watches "What the...seasons..Xaander..."She sounds concerned and maybe a little afraid as well.

Xander groans, not the voice he wanted to hear right now but he knew he would sooner or later.A couple healers gently roll him back onto his back after applying an herb mixture to his back and head, and a bandage around his back and head as well. "A...long ...story" It hurts to move right now but he has to move at least a little, and carefully.

Krisha asks, "I have all the time you need, who did this? What happen? Do I need to contact someone?" So many question and she wants answers for them so she is hopefully less stressed out "Xander...please talk to me"

Xander would just rol over but pain prevents it, "The..old..sparrow leader...but it's my fault, ok..totally mine"

Krisha shakes her head "How? Why?" She takes his paw into her's "Explain to me, they attacked you? What did you do and where was this?"

Xander feels tears as he speaks "Outside the gates, I..I made sure it was outside on the road. And I..I let him do this, he and the others were angery at me, for..."A long paulse "For killing and eatting the wood pidgion, for shareing it with Patch and Nardo...and they know you ate some but I also told them you didnt really know all the details or fully wot it was and to not blaime you for any of it. I was the one who hunted the pidgion..killed it....cooked it..ate it and yes at the firepit which is yes in the abbey" He frowns "I have done the same in the woods more than once"

Krisha listens and her frown just deepens "Let....him? What do you mean...let?"

Xander explains "Simple..let. I didnt want more trouble for ....well you if it came to it, or me...or the abbey for, as the sparrow king said...letting it happen and doing nothing about it. If it wasn't for Lilymoore talking to them, they would of done worse than...what they did"

Krisha seems afraid to ask "Worse?" She is also more worried, thanks.."Is Lilymoore ok, they didn't do anything to her did they?"

Xander is quiet and finally speaks..."She is fine, they did nothing to her, she saved my life as they likely would of killed me, possibly in Cavern Hole I think or somehow draged me to the road and killed me there."He looks at her finally, tears flowing "I'm sorry Krisha. I..."Well he can't say he didn't mean for it to happen, he let it happen so he basically meant it to happen."But I didnt want you hurt or any other badgers that might or might not visit some time."

Krisha is listening but she is silent, tears do fall as she lets go of Xander's paw and just takes a couple deep breaths, she has to calm down as this just is stressing her and she don't need stress.

Xander watches her "Krisha...please calm down"He reaches towards her with his paw"I will be ok, things will be ok"

Krisha doesn't retake his paw, in fact she backs up a little"I...I need time to think, I need to calm down....stress is not good for me and you...this..why!" She yells a little and shakes her head.

Xander lowers his paw "I'm..sorry. It seemed...the reasonable thing to..do. They seem ...well sort of blood fer blood and they will leave us alone now"He won't mention the name the sparrow king gave him."I don't plan to ever ever eat wood pidgion again...anywhere.I wont hunt them or anything..i will avoid them in fact."

Krisha shakes her head, she listens or it seems she is "You ..."A deep breath it's not helping "You were WILLING...to let them KILL you!!!"

Xander tenses up at the scream, "Krisha....please...the baby, ya can't get all....upset"

Krisha had decided to get together some novices and a couple order beasts, and to clean up the old office. A couple novice were dusting, a couple novices were scrubbing even, and also some sweeping was being done.

Vilfred peeked into the room as he was curious of what was going on, that and he wouldn't admit it but he was avoiding his own shrews..reasons."Hello?"

Krisha spins around as she was sweeping, and then smiles as she finishes sweeping some dust into a dustpan and dropping the dust and dirt into a bucket "Hello Log-A-Log..I got together some beasts to help clean up a room that's not been used , well for a while."She looks around, it's empty for now, well of furniture it is, and it's starting to look rather nice after layers of dirt and dust have been cleared, even the walls are being cleaned, and the ceiling will get a good dusting.

Vilfred walks in and nods "Very nice it is being Mother Krisha. Sort of..out of way yes?" Meaning the room, he nods to a novice and hmms "Is needing the..how say chairs or table"

Krisha chuckles"I found some extra chairs in our old marriage room across the hall, that room is never used either. The chairs will just need cleared of dust, as for a table, well..it will be figured out."She smiles "I might have an idea for the room, least till Spring"

Vilfred listens as she speaks "And what is being that?" He asks as he looks around"Good size room, maybe meeting room or study of sorts?"

Krisha smiles, she nods to a novice "Go ahead and get fresh mop water and some back, slightly warm ok?" She gets a nod as she looks to the Log-A-Log "You and your shrews can use the room to sleep in, maybe chat. I can get some cots to place by the wall over there"She points to the fall wall, "And the chairs..ummm...here, with a table and there is the small fireplace, Brother Rick has cleaned it up and will make sure its working good later on, but I am sure it will"It will but it's always good to double check these things.

Vilfred smiles "This room?" He seems happy, "Yes yes..it could, as you say work...of course me and my shrews are not in needing of the..cooking, then thar is always being the fire pit, we can make our famous shrew bread for the abbey yes?"

Krisha chuckles a little "Meals will be cooked by the abbey cooks, and yes I don't see why not,you can use the fire pit a couple times while here.This room will be mainly for sleeping or maybe just chats among your shrews...any healing needs you can go to the infirmary, I can let you know when meal times are at the abbey and you and your shrews are of course free to walk around the grounds."

Vilfred nods "Yes yes...me and shrews will do the helping of chores around the abbey, is only fair we help..help with washing dishes or clothings...help sweep even, once Leigh is feeling better she can help in the infirm as she is our groups healer"Yeah the only healer so far"Group is small, but not let fool you..shrews are mighty warriors"

Krisha finishes sweeping and sets the broom aside, "I have heard some of the Guosim and read some of your group. Oz never really spoke of your group much.He taught me about the Sparra and their language, that was one of the easy ones to learn, and I know mole speech...not perfect with it yet but least can understand them now"

Vilfred grins "Moles do have hard langue to learn yes, and Guosim has been around long long seasons, think right around time Abbey was built or soon after maybe..am not knowing,perhaps will check on this info"He bows "I thank you for the use of the room Mother Krisha"

Krisha smiles "Your welcome."She watches the beasts helping to clean up and it appears the room will be ready before dinner, she smiles again"Hopefullly I can get beasts to help with the attic as it will be a lot more to deal with, but likely fun and interesting but at the same time weeks of work...maybe longer."

Vilfred smirks "I am sure they be wanting a badger to help, strong beasts badgers. Xander helped us in our camp in fact..our camp is fine just needing to be fixing of the storage building, we lost almost 75% of our supplies, the rest we brought here with us, to share as said we can make famous shrew bread and we have still good amount of smoked fish and shrimp"

Krisha smiles "Smoked fish and shrimp? That sounds...good, and maybe some of that bread with honey and hot root, or maybe ..yes mellow creme on top"

Vilfred just looks at her like she is slightly insane, he tries to find words and it fails him "Well..I can be getting with..."And he is found, of course he is found by the others, he grins "Ello...."Well almost all the shrews thier healer is still in the infirm likely with least one other shrew to watch over her.

Krisha chuckles and lays a paw on her midsection "I am..with dibbun and sort of get these odd cravings you see, it's not due till like Autumn time" Though its likely to be born early and she knows this.

Vilfred nods, he motions the shrews to follow him to a corner and they all huddle together and whisper to one another, one seems to argue and then calms, hey not like what ever this discussion is would totally go smoothly, he finally turns and grins "Do follow us to fire pit Mother Krisha, we can make some famous shrew bread and smoked shrimp for you."He nods to one of the shrews who has the task of getting a couple things from the kitchens "We just be getting the hot root, mellow cream and honey and be meeting at fire pit here..soon?"

Krisha watches them talk and seems to debate on heading out, she has the novices and order beasts head out as most the cleaning is done in the room and its near lunch..but as the Log-A-Log speaks to her she smiles wide"Really..that, that would be great..yes I can be there in half an hour, just got to let Sister Ginny know where I am while she is at math and reading classes"

Vilfred grins, he seems happy the Badger Mother is happy and bows "Of course yes yes..."He motions for his fellow shrew to exit the room,"Also me and my shrews will be getting the chairs and tables if find one into here, for you...and the cots..hmmms where find cots?"

Krisha seems surprised and then nods "Brother Rick be a good beast to ask..ok, well then seems all is good here." She smiles, if they want to help, that's good..and maybe she should go speak to Abbot Benar, then meet the shrews at the fire pit, she excuses herself and will later meet back up with them at the fire pit.

Krisha had missed lunch, but earlier it seemed what ever was for lunch didn't agree with her or least the smells got to her.So she waited till after lunch to get a snack, and used the time at lunch as a bit of a break time. She got done with a class and after some thought agreed to let the dibbuns have a small bit of time outside with Sister Ginny, just a small amount of time and then to come back inside. The day wasn't as cold and that may be cause the wind wasn't blowing much at all, besides a little time outside would be ok, and help dibbun's energy levels lower somewhat.

Benar is crossing the great hall, his cloak folded over one arm and a scroll held open in the other as he heads toward the doors, a frown on his face as he scans the lines of text.

Krisha watches Benar and then clears her throat "Anything wrong Benar?" She had started to sit down in her chair and decides to wait for now.

Benar looks over at the badger mother, "Oh no nothing wrong, just reading through a report on the state of the upper floors, it is a mess up there, dusty and dirty and forgotten. I am thinking of having it cleaned out"

Krisha nods "It's a good idea, maybe I could help some."She sits down now, "Or help you find someone else to help if it's not any time...too soon"

Benar says, "Thank you, it is a real dusty mess up there, not even counting the attacks the whole floor just does not get much use at all."

Krisha says, "Maybe we can do something, I know there is an old office, the attic and some other sort of room."She frowns as her stomach reminds her how she should of just ate lunch, she smiles a little "Sorry, Missed lunch..what ever it was today.

Benar says, "Lunch was just a walnut salad, you should't really be skipping meals," He taps his chin, "Yes the office, I was thinking about refurbishing this make it a more usable office space and the attic is well it is the attic and the old marriage chapel"

Krisha says, "I might get something here soon, just not everything tends to agree with me."She hmms "Didn't know we had a marriage chapel, usually any weddings are in the Great Hall and it's not like there is many of those"

Benar says, "Well I think the Marriage Chapel was once thought of as a place people could get married outside of the hall if they wanted a quiet affair. But i don't think we have ever used it for such"

Krisha nods, she stands "I was gonna check the kitchens for a snack...did you want anything Benar?"

Benar says, "Ah no I had lunch, thank you, though I'll walk down to the Kitchens with you I am off to the kiln to do some pottery and that's the best way."

Krisha nids as she heads that way, she is a little quiet as they enter the kitchens and she finds some leftover salad and oddly adds hot root to it as one of the order beasts giggle a little at her, she shrugs at them "I...like it lately." She glaces at Benar "I..need to mention something to you...by the way"

Benar says, "Well" he throws his cloak around his shoulders and ties it off, "Walk with me to the kiln, hopefully it's not more dibbuns getting up to things they should not be getting up to"

Krisha chuckles "The..DAB already got into trouble..and got a lecture about it."She smiles, it's funny a little but wasn't at the time "The DAB can be..surprising at times"

Benar shakes his head, "Well as long as they are not breaking into my bedroom again, I don't think I have ever been so angry with them as when they did that. Oz had to make me go away whilst he dealt with them...." he heads along the path through the gardens, "So what is on your mind mother?"

Krisha listens, she nods "Well they temperately had taken over a classroom, I wasn't feeling well and got talked into a day off and someone was nice enough to help...and somehow got them selves tied up with rope the DAB had hid, there was a trip wire and one of them used an old..really bad sock to prevent them from yelling..perhaps days off are not good to take"

Benar frowns, "No Days off are important... I won't have the DAB tying people up or such.... i want you to make it very clear if they do something like that again I will hand out a punishment for the whole lot of them... that should make them behave"

Krisha nods, "I think I may be fairly good at lectures, but I will mention it..to be sent to the Abbot can be a scary thought if it's cause of misbehaving.." She thinks on the days off as she nods "Which...may be needed, come like...Autumn time..." She stops walking now as she sounds a little concerned " If..all goes..well"

Benar says, "Me and Oz had an understanding, I wouldn't actually deal with the dibbuns directly, but I'd frown at them as needed and he would use me as the ultimate threat and occasioanlly send really bad ones to my office"

Krisha nods, "Sounds wise..So far they haven't done anything...too major, I am sure they will try something though given time."She nods "Speaking of dibbuns..."She smiles "I still need to tell you something, and so far just me, Xander and...a couple others know, not everyone....well yet anyways"

Benar tilts his head and gives Krisha a look, "Only telling Xander and a few others, that sounds important, so" he gives her a knowing grin, "What's the big news?"

Krisha smiles, "I am..gonna have my own dibbun...I am happy but at the same time..I am..concerned, worried.I was with dibbun before and..."She frowns "The dibbun...died, so there is that worry it could happen again, but maybe not..like a 2nd chance to have a dibbun of my own, not just care for the dibbuns of the abbey but my own as well."

Benar smiles and hugs the badgers arm, "That is wonderful news Krisha, I am so very happy for you and for Xander! Congratulations to you both.... have you told Sister Gemima yet? She is our expert healer for pregnant beasts, you should talk to her to get her advice"

Krisha smiles "I..have not yet, no but I will.As I said I haven't even said anything to others really."She chuckles "Hopefully this doesnt cause a shortage of Hot root, I oddy seem to crave it"

Benar nods his head, "Well that is natural, I am told it is normal to have cravings, but Krisha we should tell Gemima sooner rather then later, after what happened last time and all let's be careful with your health"

Krisha lays a paw on her midsection and nods, she was only like 6 or so weeks along"Yeah...we likely should"

Benar says, "Well then don't delay Krisha, when you are next on that floor pop in and see her."

Krisha nods "Alright..I can have a check up with er. I know Angela knows as well, it would be good for other healers to know as well."
Benar says, "Good plan and Gemima is our expert for pregnancies, so yes it'd be good to get some help from several of the healing staff. The more who know the easier it is to get help when needed"

Krisha says, "Lets hope help will not be needed, least for anything much..so far All I have had to deal with is certain smells or food getting to me."

Gorvenalus makes his way through the abbey,a scroll in paw and a grin to his face, what ever is on the scroll he is happy about it.

Benar says, "Well I'd rather the knew and where able to help you with all the facts at their fingertips then something happen and they not know," He turns off a side path through the gardens, heading toward the kiln, "And I hear walking outside is good for you too busy also keeping warm."

Krisha nods"And yes the cold air oddly helps me when feeling ill, but don't worry I am not outside too much, and I will talk to Sister Gemima when I go inside"

Gorvenalus smiles as he finds the Abbot and walks over with the scroll and holds it out to Benar "I found that recipe Benar, it took some time but I found it"He nods to Krisha as well "Greetings Mother Krisha, I hope you are doing well today"

Benar asks, "Oh you did?" Benar's ears perk up, "That is excellent news, I'd love to see it if I may Gorvenalus, then I can start planning to give it a go."

Krisha smiles and nods "So far today I am fine...and recipe for what if I may ask?"

Gorvenalus smiles as he hands over the scroll, he nods "Winter Feast in a couple weeks. And I am glad your ok Krisha, we would not want you to be ill as I know you were not feeling well the last couple weeks off and on"

Benar unrolls the scroll and nods at the text on it, "Yes this is it, thank you Gorvenalus and I am planning to cook something my mother used to cook when I was little for the feast"

Krisha smiles "Sounds nice."She nods "Not so ill now as I was but least wasnt not ill for a bad reason"

Gorvenalus smiles"I am glad I found it, I was about to go to bed and try again later, but looked one more place and found it, and I am glad.I do hope all we need is here, if not someone could go get an item"

Benar rolls the scroll up and smiles, "Well thank you Gorvenalus, that is a great help i will have to claim myself some time in the kitchens to start practicing this."

Krisha says, "At least Lacota won't make you leave the Kitchens Benar, he usually dislikes beasts in the kitchens too long."

Gorvenalus chuckles "The Abbot can be anywhere and do what ever he wants usually"

Benar chuckles, "Lacota tends to only chase people out who are loitering to try and grab an extra snack or such, or aren't helping out in some way."

Krisha smiles "Well lets hope he wound t kick me out for an extra snack" She keeps her smile "I may announce some news at Dinner Benar, after a check up in the infirm"

Gorvenalus nods"Not heard of any pie stealing lately." She nods to Krisha "Seems like good news, always like good news"

Benar says, "Good news is always preferred to some of the others and that is fine with me Krisha, announce away it is your news to do with as you please"

Krisha nods as she smiles "Not to worry Brother Gorvenalus, its good news, happy news and likely others will agree. We dont need any other bad news around."

Gorvenalus nods,"You are right and the Winter feast is in, believe 2 weeks time, plenty of time to be ready and a feast is always good news as well. I may see if the otters or shrews want to come."

Benar says, "It would be nice to invite the otters and the shrews and extend an invitation to Blisa as well, I'll see to it I send a messenger"

Krisha nods, she smiles "I could let her know at the feast about the dibbun." She nods "And the weather is not..well too bad right now, a sparrow could go maybe or one of the order members"

Benar says, "I dislike using birds, they are unreliable, easily forget what I have asked them to do and easily distracted. I'll send someone I trust with a message to Chief Blisa fear not."

Gorvenalus nods in agreement "Yes today has not been as bad as most days, still cold and not good for travel too far...I had been concerned when Zeldove and Mack headed to the western shore but we got word they arrived safe and sound" The recorder nods "Maybe the Champion or have them tag along "

Benar waves a hand at Gorvenalus, "I'd not send Matilda out as my post-beast, I have a reliable friend who can deliver messages to Blisa for me," he adjusts his cloak, "But for now I need to go get to work on some pottery, so I will see you all soon."

Krisha nods "Don't be late for Dinner Benar" She smiles "We can head back inside Brother Gorvenalus, it is a little..cold now"

Krisha nods as she sighs.....ok lunch hates her clearly as she frowns, a brirf disappearing and she walks back and sits down with a frown.

Gorvenalus frowns in concern and walks over to her "Are you alright? Do you need anything?"

Krisha nods "I will be...maybe mint tea, it helps"She smiles "I am with child so..guess need to get pass the..feeling ill part which hopefully wont last too long, its supposed to go away and hopeing not return"She knows feeling ill too late into the pregnancy is bad.Or if it returns later on it may be bad.

Gorvenalus nods and gets the tea and returns "Sip it slowly...and feeling ill usually last the frist few weeks and eases slowly...if it gets worse let me or one of the main healers know"

Krisha sips slowly "I will...and letting the abbey beasts know at dinner tonight about being with child"

Gorvenalus nods "Well I must head off..drink the tea and relax for now Mother Krisha and see you at dinner" He heads off to the library.

Krisha rests for a little while, drinks her tea and gets back to her dibbun duties.

They is some cheers, some congrats, even the dibbuns seem happy..of course a couple elder just sigh, yep not fans of dibbuns, but that's fine they usually stay away anyways. Dinner is simple fish and veggies, with rolls and some water or juice to drink

Krisha is sitting in her chair, she seems to be feeling better than she was before, though one thing that's odd, for her, is she seems to hate the tatse of coffee now or the smell of it even and is eating some hot root stew, not super spicy but has some spice in it....and a few slices of apple.She had just done a lessen in reading and writing so some papers are beside her of letters dibbuns practiced making.

DoraRose comes into the Great Hall from outside and stumps over to the fireplace. Plopping down in a chair, she pulls the hood of her cloak off her head, then her hat, and pulls her scarf down from across her muzzle. "Hi, Krisha....um, what are you eating?" The mouse peers over at the badger as she extends all 4 of her paws towards the fire.

Krisha smiles "Some hot root stew, otters made it..again, its interesting and I added some apple slices, gives it a bit of a, sort of..added flavor, did you want some?"

DoraRose smiles slightly, but shakes her head. "No, thanks. I don't like shrimp. Or spicy stuff." She pulls off her cloak and scarf and mittens, then starts unlacing her boots. "Are you okay, Krisha? You seem to be....eating stuff that's unusual for you." She has an idea of what's going on, even though Angela has told no one other than Krisha and Xander the other day.

Krisha seems unsure of weather to share news yet or not, she smiles "I am fine Dorarose just, I guess I like hotr oot now" She takes another bite of the mixture"Its nice, at first I thought it disagreed with me but it didn't"

DoraRose shrugs and decides to leave the badger in peace. "Well, okay, then, if you're sure." She tugs the sleeves of her black sweater down over her paws. "How were the Dibbuns today? I heard last week the DAB managed to tie Xander up. Nana had to save him."

Krisha nods "Yeah...they got a lecture on it too"She smirks"Must say I think I am good at lectures..."She smiles"They been good."She lays the bowl down on a table and leans back.

DoraRose grins. "Well, you learned from the best. I listened in on a few of Oz's lectures. They were kind of legendary." She holds her paws out to the fire, still wrapped in her sweater sleeves. Kicking off her boots, she tucks her feet under her legs. Glancing at the badger, she adds, "Well, if you're alright, would you still like some help with something? I'm on a break from wall duty right now, but 'tis hard for me to sit still and do nothing."

Krisha smiles "I know, I might end up doing a lot of sitting, but hopefully not I mean I have my Badgermother duties after all. I mean its fine in winter to just relax by the fire but come Spring and Summer...I may need to help out more with things"

DoraRose raises an eyebrow. "Why would you need to be sitting more? I'm sure you could do most if not all of your Badger Mother duties while sitting, but.....why would you need to? Are you sure you're okay, Krisha?" The mouse is very concerned.

Krisha smiles "I am fine and should be..fine"She seems unsure but for now she is fine "I only plan ta sit if I have to."She lays a paw to her midsection as she thinks.

DoraRose looks at the body language the badger is displaying, and in a split second her brain puts all the pieces of the food stuff and what the badger is say and how she is acting all together. "Oh my goodness! Are you having a baby??" The Gatekeeper tries to keep her voice low, but her voice raises a little as a grin splits her face. It's hard to keep secrets from the Warrior, apparently.

Krisha is silent and then speaks"Yes..I mean not right now"She chuckles as she knows, yes there will be a 2nd checkup in a couple weeks but its just a mother thing, she just knows she is now, "Likely early autumn..I think...I just hope all goes..well"

DoraRose's grin is so big, it's making her cheeks hurt. She smiles a lot, but usually not this wide. "Oh my goodness, I'm so happy for you! I'm sure it'll all turn out fine if my grandmother is helping you. She is dedicated to saving lives, especially Dibbuns. I believe it will all work out well. Oooh!" She hops up and goes to give the badger a hug. "I'm so happy for you! I remember I was terrified I'd be a terrible mother when I was pregnant with LilyMoore and Caleb, but I was also so excited. I think it's a balance of both. It's okay to feel both ways."

Krisha smiles as she hugs the mouse "But..me and Xander still want to..wait to tell others of the news so keep it a secret, if you can"She smiles and chuckles "Well let's hope it isn't twins"

DoraRose is still grinning. "Oh, don't worry. I can keep a secret, and I will with this." She goes to give the badger a light punch on the shoulder. "Oh, come on. Twins can be fun! Once they reach a certain age, they tend to entertain each other and give you some breathing room."

Krisha chuckles as she smiles"Guess we will see, later on. Not saying can't handle twins...heck I watch over like 50 dibBuns as it is..wait"She thinks "There is a new squirrel dibbun, just an infant that I help watch as well."

DoraRose chuckles. "There, see? You'll be fine." She sits back down in her chair, tucking her feet under her. "I don't remember the new squirrel infant. How'd it come here?"

Krisha says, "A couple squirrels came to live at the abbey, they had a dibbun.."She frowns as it was not the best day for some."They had run into trouble on the road but got to the abbey safely"

DoraRose frowns slightly. "I don't remember them. I must not have been on wall duty when they got here." She snuggles down in her chair, keeping her feet tucked under her and her paws in her sleeves.

Krisha speaks after a few moments "Ewan and Zeldove helped them when they were attacked by some vermin, the vermin were defeated., one of the squirrels had ran ahead to the abbey to tell some guards what happen, I don't know what healer went to the road though, I made sure the squirrel calmed down at the time."

DoraRose looks very sad. "Ah....okay, now I remember a little. I wasn't on duty at the time, else I would've run to help. I was helping in the kitchens and found out too late to help." She sighs heavily and rubs her forehead. "I'm glad you were able to help, Krisha. Makes me feel better about not being able to."

Krisha looks like she wants to give the mouse a hug, but wont unless its ok to, she nods "One cant be everywhere at once, its ok Dorarose. Every beast wants to be ...everywhere and they can't, but thats ok..it is. A lot happens in life, good and bad things and we all get through it with friends at our side"

DoraRose will allow a hug -- of course she'll allow a hug! She sighs and nods. "I know....I've learned that....'tis just hard when my friends get hurt or die. I have made peace with how I can't be everywhere, can't do everything. But that doesn't make it any less hard or sad."

Krisha nods "I know, I still miss Oz and....and Northstar so..much"She lets a tear escape as she speaks, ok ok she can't get stressed, things will be fine but she is worried on losing this child as well.

DoraRose glances up into her friend's face and goes to wipe the tear away. "'Twill all be fine. I think....I don't know, but I have a feeling it will all turn out okay." She turns in her chair so she's facing the badger better. "You're worried this baby will be lost, too, like Northstar was, in some way, aren't you?" She doesn't know about Krisha's previous miscarriage.

Krisha sighs, she had told so...few the story, so she speaks "Northstar...was adopted. I was with child before..yes and..lost them, I don't even know if they were a boy or a girl, they were...dead , born too early...they didn't even get a chance too.."And now tears flow.."I was so upset..I just wanted to go home, I shouldn't of went on that stupid trip with Xander"She isn't sure why she went anyways, "I stayed at Ferravale with my father..so..so depressed and someone came to speak to father, they..they needed to talk to ..me"

DoraRose looks slightly stunned for a minute, then goes to hug her friend again. "Oh, Krisha....I am so sorry. No wonder you're worried." She pauses, thinking. Then she just simply says, "It wasn't your fault. These kinds of things just happen. Nobeast could've caused it or prevented it. But I am so, so sorry that it happened to you, my friend. That's just the hardest thing."

Krisha nods "I..remember..that day ...Marek was in my fathers shop..I was about to tell father to throw him out but he had..in his arms..."She remembers that day...so well "Oz was there..forgot why...but they all left me alone for a couple days after...the infant..Northstar, so..so tiny and helpless, less than a couple days old..she needed me"

DoraRose just listens. She knows that when she's shared hard things, it's helped her most when everyone was just silent and gave her the comfort of just their presence. And so now she's sharing the comfort she's received with her friend.

Krisha thinks back and manages a chuckle "I was so..grumpy and over protective...even growled and snarled at Oz...the only one who could get close finally was Benar....I am unsure what was wrong with me...guess after losing the dibbun..too many emotions build up maybe..don't know"

DoraRose nods. "Aye, makes sense to me. What made you let Benar get close when even Oz couldn't?" She understands losing someone you love and holding the others too tight, too closely.

Krisha says, "I..don't know..just did...and finally let others see the baby...it was just me and Northstar for a few weeks will Xander got back and...meet her"

DoraRose thinks for a moment. "He was pretty happy to be a dad, though, right? I mean....he's pretty insecure, but he was excited." She's trying to remember, but what with her middle aged brain and all the battles she's lived through, her memory isn't necessarily the best. Not the worst, but also not the best.

Krisha says, "He was happy yes" She smiles" Nervous I think but he did good, he was a very good father and will be again"

DoraRose smiles. "I fully agree. How did he take the news of this baby....or did you not tell him yet?" Hey, you never know. Considering the previous miscarriage, she may have opted to wait a little while before telling her husband.

Krisha says, "He was there when we got the news from Angela that I was..with dibbun"

Cota walks in, it seems, maybe perfect or not perfect timing as he tilts his head, ok maybe he should just leave, but he stays as he works this all out in his mind "Mother Krisha is gonna have a...dibbun?"

DoraRose jumps, leaping to her feet, her Warrior instincts taking hold before her brain registers what's going on. She pauses, then laughs lightly. "Cota, honey, you scared me. Come here, honey." She opens her arms for a hug, smiling. "You need to keep this a secret. Beasts need to not find out until Krisha and Xander are ready to tell others. Okay?"

Krisha looks at Cota and nods"Yes..I am and you do need to keep it a secret for now, ok...please."

Cota listens and then goes to Hug Dorarose and nods "Ok..."He smiles "Babys are cute, will it be cute? Is it a girl or boy? You have a name fer it yet?" He yawns as its late and so may questions.

DoraRose laughs. "Okay, she's not even showing yet, hon. There's no way they can know what the gender is, and they only just found out, so names aren't even something they're thinking of yet, most likely." She looks at him lovingly. "Why are you up if you're so tired, sweetheart?"

Krisha smiles "I don't know yet, and names can come later..I might have an idea for, least one"

Cota nods, he smiles and yawns "Maybe Cynthia...for a girl...."He rubs his eyes, yep tried.

DoraRose goes to hug her grandson again. "I need to get back on duty." She sits down and puts her boots back on. Slipping back into her mittens, hat, and cloak, she stands buck up and goes to ruffle his ears. "Make sure to go to bed here soon, okay? I'll see you later." She goes to hug Krisha again. "I'll see you both later." She waves and heads out the door, back into the cold.

Krisha smiles, "Its a nice name, so..maybe.."She allows the hug and smiles "Maybe for a boy...Oz" She isn't sure though, maybe another name would be best as she stands "You, get to bed..ok..I am gonna get to bed myself..."Goodnight Cota"

Cota smiles and hugs the Badger "Night Mother Krisha"He then heads to bed, he makes it and falls asleep fairly quickly.

Krisha smiles, she makes sure he got to bed ok and heads to her room to get some needed sleep herself.

Krisha is sitting outside, her thicker cloak on as she let the dibbuns have a little fun in the snow and then let Sister Ginny and Sister Anna take them inside for lunch while she sat outside and got, as she told them, some fresh air.

Xander came outside and looked around, seeing Krisha he walks over and sits beside her, then speaks "Least it's not as cold, and your missing lunch aren't you hungry?"

Angela has been a little concerned about the Badger Mother, and now, noticing that she's missing lunch (the Healer joined everyone for lunch? It's a miracle!), the mouse comes out of the Great Hall. Spotting the badgers, she hobbles across the open ground, tugging her hat lower and cloak closer as she leans on her staff. "Whot're you 2 doin' out 'ere? 'Tis freezin' cold!"

Krisha just snorts "Called fresh air and not hungry..besides the cold air helps a little, was too warm inside, I will go back inside soon and I do have my cloak"

Xander frowns, he waves to Angela "I was outside cause..she was and its not too cold, well since the wind isn't blowing its less cold"

Angela scowls. "When ye're old like me, 'twill always be too cold out 'ere in th' winter." The old mouse looks at Krisha closely. "'Ow are ye feelin' today, young un? You weren't doin' very well last week. Are ye feelin' any better?"

Krisha chuckles at the young one comment, "A bit better, guess spicy food was a bad idea"She shrugs "Guess wanted to try it, did like it though and I am fine just tried, but the dibbuns can make one tried, and ok I missed lunch but ..I don't know, certain smells are getting to me and not been able to eat all that much the past like week or so"

Xander shrugs, he is worried but is trying to not show it"You should eat something Krisha..I could make something"He smiles, he can cook after all just not a great deal of things, but soup is easy.

Angela raises an eyebrow as her eyes start to smile a tiny bit. "'Ow else have ye been feelin'? I need to know -- this isn't normal for a beast, y'know. I just want to make sure ye're okay." She has an idea, but she doesn't want to say anything until she knows for sure.

Krisha sighs, "Just..that's about it." She frowns as one of the dibbuns seem to have gotten loose and she stands up a little too fast and gets dizzy, she goes to sit down, luckily the dibbun is caught by an order beast, ok so maybe add dizzy spells to her list of problems, rare at least but if she moves too fast sometimes, dizziness strikes, that and not eating much earlier and missing lunch didn't help.

Xander lets Angela and Krisha speak, but she it looks like Krisha is gonna faint he quickly is supporting her and helping her sit, and now is more worried as he frowns again "Maybe your still a little ill from wot ever it was, I still blame the hot root, those otters put WAY too much hotroot in it I am surprised the pan didn't catch fire"

Angela watches all this with interest. "So, certain smells are settin' ye off, huh? Ye feel too warm, ye're nauseated, ye feel a hankerin' t' eat food ye wouldn't normally eat, yet you don't 'ave as much appetite as you normally do,and ye get dizzy if ye stand up too fast? Is that about it, hon?" Oh, yeah, the Healer thinks she knows what's going on.

Krisha sighs, "I am fine Xander...it's off/ on..usually worse when first wake up but eases up." As for any other signs of what may be wrong..it's a little too early for any, well weight gain issues but likely that will come up fairly soon too.She looks at Xander "We can go inside if you want, I can try and eat...well something that agrees with me"

Xander nods and will help her inside, just to make sure she is ok "Umm..something that would be ok to eat..ummm"What is it they always want to give beasts in the infirm"Veggie broth maybe and some..mint tea?"

Angela smiles. "Come on up to th' Infirm, young uns. I have somethin' that should hopefully agree with both of ye. I think I know why Krisha's feeling so ill, and I figure that's as a good a place as any f'r me to tell y'all." She leads the way, obviously expecting them to follow her.

Krisha frowns but will follow and she is fine to walk slowly on her own, she is not really too dizzy now and sits down "I am ok with a short nap but...not all day"

Xander follows, of course he is gonna follow "I can get that tea, there is a lemon mint one that is good I can make"

Angela makes her way over to the fireplace, shedding her cloak, hat, and scarf and draping them over the back of her rocking chair. "That sounds lovely, Xander. Please, bring enough for all of us. I'll serve the soup." She starts dishing up the soup she always has on the fire here in the Infirmary. She usually only serves broth, but the soup does have lots of yummy chunks of vegetables in it. Krisha gets mostly broth, but a few chunks of veggies are in her bowl, too. The old Healer also pulls out bread and cheese and starts slicing them.

Krisha smiles, she lets her cloak be by the cot, she will eat a little anyways" I am not sure..wot is wrong, suppose maybe some odd cold? But I am not stopped up or have any cough"

Xander nods as he exits to make that tea..lemon and mint, he knows how to make a good deal of different teas and even created one of his own.He soon returns with the tea and for anyone who wants it some honey to add.

Angela motions for the badgers to put their food and drinks on a table nearby. "Y'want to be sittin' for this." She waits until they're both sitting and smiles. "I have lived a long, long time, young uns. I've seen much death in my lifetime. So it always brings me great joy to tell beasts this." She looks Krisha directly in the eyes, smiling wider than almost anyone in the Abbey has ever seen her smile. "Krisha, I'll know f'r sure in a few weeks, but as far as I can tell....ye're pregnant!"

Krisha listens and seems confused, thinking back she did have some of the same things back then too but..."But..how? I was told I..likely couldn't have a dibbun and the one time I...did, they were born way too early and..died..."Maybe not everyone knows so just in case "Northstar was adopted, and just..happen to be near the same age as...someone would of ...been"

Xander listens and about drops his tea, lucky he doesn't and it's set down and safe "She is...?" He looks at Krisha "Your?" He looks at Angela, great more worry"But..if she is..with dibbun..w..wot if..."Not that he isnt happy with the news of a dibbun, just the worry is there.

Angela shakes her head, smiling. "I 'ave lived a long life, as I said. I 'ave seen many miracles. It seems the seasons 'ave granted ye favour." She looks at Xander, an eyebrow raised. "Whot if whot, Xander? I'm a Healer, I have seen much. What are ye worried about?"

Krisha lays a paw on her midsection and smiles, she glaces at Xander and does note his concern, she sighs as she replies as she could be a little worried as well "I was with dibbun...before, when I tagged along with a couple others to that Willowbark place...the dibbun was born early..it"She closes her eyes "Died..before it was really born...and I was depressed for a while and left to come back home before the others. I was in Ferravale when Marek brought this...infant badger cub...Northstar, her parents had been killed by Ormaz so I raised her and..think some thought she was my own blood...she wasn't but still was my child and then I..lost her...if I am with dibbun I..I don't want to lose them...too"

Xander frowns as he listens, he remembers Krisha disappearing and him being worried, though he didn't know when the infant came from just some details here and there..found by the river an dKrisha was tasked to raise her.He looks to Angela "I don't want to lose..anyone..Krisha or the dibbun"

Angela pulls a stool over and sits in front of them. Leaning her staff against the stool, she reaches out to take their paws. "Aye, I fully understand. I lost a couple babies, meself, before I had DoraRose's mother. I understand, trust me. An' it's alright t' be scared. I was /terrified/ when I was carryin' Lydia. But courage comes from pressing through the fear an' enjoyin' every moment to its fullest. Life is far to short to live controlled by fear." She smiles. "And believe you me, I will do everythin' I know t' do to keep your baby safe. I promise."

Krisha smiles "I..I trust you" She nods "I had..wondered and when needed I can take it easy to make sure all is..well, I still plan to do my Badger Mother duties of course, unless like the...last 2-3 weeks I shouldn't"

Xander nods as he just seems in some sort of daze of some sort "So....she really is...with....dibbun, so that means...." He has been a father, he gets along..sort of..with dibbuns but there is just that, its your own flesh and blood child that makes it different and he is likely luckly to be sitting cause...he looks ready to faint.

Angela snorts with amusement. "Like I said, I won't know for sure for another few weeks, but as far as I can see, 'tis the only reasonable explanation. Do y'need to lay down, Xander?" After a few minutes of thinking, the Healer adds, "An' Krisha, if ye've already had a miscarriage, I want ye to start takin' it easy now. Don't lift heavy things. Don't pick up Dibbuns unless ye're already sitting, an' don't carry any of 'em. Don't go faster'n a walk. Take stairs slowly."

Krisha nods "I can go slow and I can get a better checkup in maybe..couple weeks."She frowns as loseing a baby is mentioned "I am also...home and with friends...I wil likely be more relaxed or least...hope so"

Xander nods as he stands "I am fine..don't need lay down, Krisha needs to lay down cause thats a good thing to lay down and..possible dibbun...ok, ok and that would mean...and my own...dibbun and..."He paces, and just mutters and gets more stressed "But..I could serious mess up...and....is the room spinning or is it just the...pa..pacing-----"Yeah lets faint now, least he found a pile of blankets they needed placed on the beds, so thats good right?

Angela nods. "Aye, the less stress, th' better. I'm sure you'll be fine." And then Xander has a meltdown. The Healer just watches him, then rolls her eyes as he faints. "He'll be fine. Just give him a minute. Y'know, DoraRose fainted when she found out Cynthia was pregnant with Cota and Lily, LIlyMoore's namesake. Sometimes beasts do that. He'll be fine."

Krisha gasps and starts to get up, only to sit back down with a frown, "Wot is there to worry on, he..he will be a good father, he was a good father to Northstar, even if he thinks he wasn't"

Xander groans and his eyes flutter open as he seems a little confused and sits up "I..had this odd...dream and..or was it a dream?"

Angela shakes her head. "Xander doubts himself. But maybe you an' the baby can 'elp build his confidence." Turning to the male badger, she says, "Ye're gonna be a father again. Krisha's pregnant. Ye'll be a good father. Y'don't need t'stress about it. Relax or ye're gonna stress Krisha out."

Krisha watches Xander and frowns a little, "Yes love...be less stressed...I will be ok, we have Angela and Gorvenalus here to help, they will make sure all is well love."She moves slowly and goes to hug him."Your..happy right?"

Xander still sort of stares into space and then blinks at the hug and still seems not fully there, he then returns the hug and finds his voice "Of course I am happy Krisha"

Angela smiles and gets her soup. "Just give him time, Krisha. He'll be fine. Now! Eat ye're soup, both o' ye. Ye'll need yer strength." And with that she starts tucking in, not wanting to talk anymore for the moment.

Krisha sits and eats her soup, she smiles as she does have an appetite back right now,"As I said, I can have another checkup in a couple weeks before..well anyone else needs to know of this" Though it is a for sure, she is with dibbun but its a just to make sure sort of thing.

Xander nods "Eatting..yeah eatting is needed to...live" He eats his soup as a lot of thoughts go threw his mind"Yes wait to tell others, they would want to know of course they would."

Angela keeps eating, letting the badger talk. If they want to wait to tell others, then that's their choice. She sips her tea and raises her eyebrows appreciatively. "Mm, this is good, Xander. Can y'give me the recipe, or is it one o' yer family's secret recipes? 'Twould be good for beasts here in the Infirmary."

Krisha smiles "We can tell others, later on for now us and Angela knows"She seems to just have this..sense she is with child and the checkup in a couple weeks will just further prove it, that and she may show a little bit of a belly by then since she is close to..a month along now.She sips her tea "I like the tea as well, its nice."

Xander nods and sits up better, after eatting and drinking he speaks "I can tell you how to make it, sure Angela..I know a lot of different teas and even made a couple new ones.I even know one Uncle Zee made but it's..not really something that would be wise to drink at the abbey"

Angela smiles. "I would love to share tea recipes with ye, son. What's in that old badger's tea? Alcohol? I sometimes could use a bit o' that..." Hey, she's a cynical old mouse. Sometimes she needs something to prove it.

Krisha frowns at the mention of the alcohol but its not she would drink any of it herself, for sure not now. "I remember Oz made mint tea, like a lot"

Xander nods "Yeah..some normal black tea and..ale mixed together, he liked it and drank it in Ferravale..Uncle Zee that is and yeah Uncle Oz liked mint tea more than other teas but he knew how to make others, not sure whay he never did"

Angela thinks for a moment as she finished her soup. "I may have t'try that." She sets down her bowl and holds her tea with both paws. "Oz was an interesting creature. We had some good chats, he and I. I'm sure he's watchin' you now, happy for your family."

Krisha is relaxed as she speaks "Yeah, likely. I hope I am doing well with the dibbuns, I do wonder sometimes, I havn't had any really bad problems, yeah that DAB thing but that's it."She hmmms "I wonder...what the dibbuns reaction to..this would be"

Xander frowns, he clearly still misses Oz as he finishes his tea and nods "I can write a few..teas down Anglea, including the one with ale mixed in it"

Standing, the old Healer hobbles over to her personal cabinet and pulls out a small notebook, an inkpot, and a quill. "'Ere, Xander," Angela says, handing him the writing stuff. "No time like the present." She sits back down and finishes her tea. "I'm sure the Dibbuns will be excited that y'have a baby in yer tummy. I think ye're doing fine, Krisha. Keep doin' what you're doin'. I think Oz would be proud. Of both o' you." And she really means that.

Krisha smiles "I am happy for a chance to..be a mother again, like a 2nd chance to rasie a dibbun..my own dibbun"

Xander listens as he writes down some diffeent teas, he gets to about 15 for now, and adds in the one they are drinking now and the one his Uncle Zee liked so much, "Course you could always add less or more..ale, I kind of use a bit less than he did"

Angela nods. "Sounds good, Xander. I like experimentin'. 'Tis one o' my hobbies." She goes to pat Krisha's paw. "I think ye're a good mother, hon. And yer husband is a good father. You both will do well."

Krisha smiles "I hope so. I will likely let the abbot know of this first, then some others. I wonder if they ever has this..happen before. I think the Badger Mother before Oz was named Heartwood, no clue before her"

Xander nods "And I will do my best to keep them safe..Krisha and our dibbun..I promise"He will make sure to pay attention to what is going on, walk around in daylight when it comes to his child and if he can't, he is going to hold their paw at all times, hopefully not be too overprotective, but it very possible he will end up being anyways.

Angela goes to take the list of tea recipes from Xander. "Well, there's always a first time for everythin', Krisha. And I know DoraRose and LilyMoore will be thrilled to hear 'bout yer baby." She goes to pat Xander's paw. "I know ye will. I don't doubt that at all."

Krisha says, "Well I don't plan any trips, that's fer sure, not that there is family outside Redwall..and when its spring someone else can go to the market with some order beasts as I likeky wont be able to"

Xander nods, he looks at Krisha "Staying at the abbey isn't that bad and no need for any trips, your right and the furthest I will be is Ferrvale to check on my tavern sometimes"

Angela nods. "Aye, no trips. Healer's orders. In fact, I'll be keepin' a watch on ye as the weeks progress. If I get concerned, I'll make ye use a wheelchair. I'm sure we still 'ave some badger-sized ones. Keep as much stress of your body as we can to protect the baby." She nods to Xander. "That sounds good. Who's in charge of your tavern while you're here?"

Krisha frowns "A wheel chair..I don't think that would be needed and besides.....there likely isnt one around"

Xander says, "Umm..."He frowns "It would be..Patch...hmm maybe I should pick someone else, course there is Mack , I dont think he would stay in Halyard..woulrd he?""

Angela scowls slightly. "Mm. I don't trust Patch. But you know 'im better'n I do. So 'tis your choice." She shakes a finger at Krisha. "You'll use a wheelchair if I say to! I told ye I'll do all in m'power to keep yer baby safe, an' if I have t'drug ya because you won't stay in a wheelchair when I say to, then so be it!" I mean, she drugged Xander and kept him tied to a bed to force him to rest, so she's obviously not above that kind of stuff.

Krisha frowns as a thought comes to mind "But it would..harm the dibbun..like sleeping herbs would and its not like there is a chair somewhere like that"

Xander looks between them and frowns, possible argument here as he stands slowly and looks to the hallway and walks out slowly, he has..chores thats right, chores

Angela scowls. "I wouldn't've mentioned it if we didn't 'ave one! Zork's wheelchair is 'round here somewhere. It would work. And...okay, you may be right about the herbs. But still. If I say you'll use a wheelchair, then you will."

Krisha sighs "Fine..."She watches as Xander walks off and frowns, a look to Angela "Let's hope its not needed"

Angela nods and starts gathering up empty dishes. "Aye, I hope an' pray 'tisn't needed, lassie. But I'll find it an' 'ave it checked on 'ere soon, just to be on the safe side." She hobbles over to a box and sets the dishes in it. "Xander will be fine. Just give 'im some time, hon."

Krisha nods "I know he just, needs a lone time. I worry about Xander sometimes."She stands and lays a paw on her midsection "I should get back to the dibbuns before they hunt me down"And she knows they will too."I will talk more in a couple weeks but....I would say a checkup isn't needed but just to make sure.."She smiles and heads off to find the dibbuns before they look for her.

Krisha was doing her best to get the dibbuns to breakfast and keeping them in line, "Ok calm down...and please sit" They all sit quietly as her and Sister Anna get breakfast rolls and some fruit, a mug of milk each as well and once done sit down.Krisha had not gotten anything just yet, just some sort of herbal tea she slowly siped for now.

Xander had not sleep well so he was up extra early, seeing Krisha he managed a smile and walked over"Hey..Krisha, you sleep well?"

Krisha shrugs "I..suppose I did."She glances at the dibbuns, ok so far behaving themselves, back to Xander"Why ya ask dear, seems you're the one whom needs sleep"

Xander shrugs "You seemed tried and yeah, I sleep a couple hours. Thinking on wot happen with Ewan, it's just...sudden is all and just the past few weeks"

Krisha says, "Yeah lots happen but some good along with the bad. Life isn't always simple..."She frowns as she stops speaking and then seems able to speak again"But I am sure things will work out and be fine""

Xander sounds concerned "You ok love? You seem fairly tried, I could..watch the dibbuns a couple hours maybe and you get some more rest"

Krisha chuckles "Watch the dibbuns....it involves a lot and I am just tried and..nothing wants to agree with me.."And she quickly goes to the side door leading to the breezeway between the kitchen and great hall, yep tea didn't stay down as she coughs and walks back in sitting down slowly with a frown.

Xander frowns as he walks over to help Krisha sit down "Your not ok, are you ill?"He feels her forehead, he has learned a small amount of healing,not much but enough to know when another might need a healer or not.

Krisha waves him away "I'm ok Xander, just tea didn't agree with me is all, not ill ok. Likely just a slight case of stress or maybe got to use to coffee instead of tea"

Xander says, "But..you.."He sighs and just decides to try and not worry"I just worry ok...that's all, do you need anything?"

Krisha says, "That's what I love about you, you care a lot for others, sometimes you worry too much but you care and that's a good thing dear.I am fine, really just been busy but the Abbot is better so less to do now, so that's good"

Xander nods "Yeah..I sometimes wonder if I should stay a warrior or not at times, other times I think I should, just to be there and protect those I care for..friends and family,your my only family now Krisha so It makes me worry more I suppose

Krisha says, "I know and I don't plan to go anywhere, gonna stay in the abbey unless its to go somewhere with you, besides its way too cold to do much really"

Xander says, "Yeah weather is just..cold. I will make sure Mack and Zeldove know to take an extra cloak, maybe a blanket for the weather.Also mentioning the shrews as they may have a boat they can have to get to the western shore."

Krisha asks, "So they head out mu guess is this afternoon or in the morning? I do hope word is sent for when they get there, so you worry less"

Xander smiles "It's a good idea, likely Silverwing can tell me and I know Mack would head home afterwards"

Krisha says, "Well let's hope so , though if he stays till better weather try not to worry, may be for the best"

Xander says, "I will try not to worry, just so I know and I can find ways to stay in touch with them"

Krisha has ate a little lunch and then decided lunch was a bad idea, least for her it was as she sits in her chair, waiting for class to end as she left Sister Ginny in charge of it.A mug of water close by, and it was not helping much.

Zeldove walks inside and slumps to a sitting position by the wall, knees to her chest and again her headfur a bit everywhere right now.

Patch walks in and right away is moody "And of course he isn't here....walks off..leaves me to tend to oh get a free meal and drink...does not help the crowd of beasts, like good grief "

Krisha glares at the rat, she is not in the mood right now The hare gets a quick look as she frowns, the rat gets a better turn right back around look.

Zeldove looks up and blinks "You..feeling ok there or is the rat being annoying...I can throw him off a wall for y."She is serious as she adds "Please"

Patch rolls his eyes, "Oh be quiet..."He walks over to the badger "Where is stripy? Seen him...I need ta chat, like seriously"

Krisha sits up better, stands up and goes to grab Patch by the collar of his shirt "Leave..before I..before I give her the ok..."She groans, ok she feels worse and got up way too fast.She is moody and feels ill, not good.

Zeldove frowns and pouts, then tilts her head "Ummm...ya looking a little green thar Krisha....then again I look at the rat and would feel ill too"

Patch eks "Hey..hey let go, this is a new tunic why ya so grumpy lady..good grief, like go take a nap or sumthing."

Krisha manages half a snarl and then literally vomits on the rat, no warning what so ever and he is likely a mess now.She coughs and drops him with a frown. yep she is not feeling so well at all.

Zeldove blinks "Oh..ummm..well that's interesting"She can't help it, it's at the same time funny the rat seemed the target and grined "Gonna need a bath huh..Patch." She is concerned though "So you like..ok?" To the badger, not Patch.

Patch eyes go wide and he screams, he does his best to get loose and as he hits the floor he backs up to a chair and stared wide eyed at the badger.He takes a deep breath hand coughs "Acks!!! What the!..."

Krisha frowns "Sorry.."She is, sort of anyways as he did deserve a little "Don't know...lunch didn't agree with me"

Zeldove frowns "I can get a healer if you need one"She does get a wet cloth for her and will help her to a chair to sit.

Patch blinks "Hey..I need to clean up too and get her a healer..ok what did she eat I don't want NONE of it!"

Krisha allows the help and cleans off a little "T..thanks...and Patch..go away not in the...the mood"
Zeldove nods "Ya heard her, go away Patch..sides Xander is somewhere in the abbey, go look for him...but maybe after a serious bath"

Patch pouts and then just sighs, "FINE!" And beasts stay a bit clear of the rat, and for good reason as he will go get a bath and be back as soon as he can.

Krisha shakes her head, "He is just...extra annoying today...how are you Zeldove?I..heard about..Ewan."

Zeldove gets some water and offers it to the badger , a frown "I..I will be ok, I suppose...he did help save the squirrels and likely me...then I was the one to end the fox with an arrow, stupid fox"

Krisha sighs, "The fox is..gone so that's good"A small sip of water as she leaned back in her chair, still not feeling all that great right now.

Zeldove says, "Yeah..suppose that's good, I mean of course it is..you sure you don't need like a healer or something?"

Patch comes back in a borrowed old robe, sort of a light grey in color "She needs sumthing alright...and don't worry not goin' near ya either...neither of ya"

Krisha just stays in her chair , sips water "Wot do you want Patch? Say what it is and like..leave or something"

Zeldove folds her arms over her chest to listen to the rat, watching him closely as she really doesn't like him much"If it's to tag along with me, answer is nope"

Patch rolls his eyes "I was looking for Stripy..Xander, ok..ya happy, maybe look another reason now too, but the tavern needs like some more supplies now, out of a couple things..gee wonder why..luckily nothing too major and today is back to normal with that Mack and a few others in charge of the tavern."

Krisha shrugs "What ever and I am fine, he is likely resting or on his way to Ferravale,I don't know"

Zeldove says, "So if everything is basically ok...why stick around, hmmmm?""

Patch rolls his eyes "Hares are rude..."He then exits, the long way around and gets to the road and heads on down it.

Krisha says, "Least he left. Patch is just as said extra annoying today"

Zeldove nods in agreement "He is yes, how is he even still around, I mean he is so annoying ya think he be like...not around or something"

Xander speaks as he rounds a corner "I have no clue, luck?" He states with a chuckle, seeing Zeldove he nods and nods to Krosha as he walks over "So wot did Patch do now?"

Cota slips in quietly and stays by the doorway as the others talk"Who is Patch?" He may of seen him before but if he did, it's been forgotten.

Krisha manages a smile "Patch was looking for you dear, not sure why.Think he went back to Ferravale" She sips the water she has and frowns "Water is not making me feel all that better" She sits the mug down.

Zeldove waves "Ya missed it, Patch had ta leave cause she threw up on him, funny in a way and not funny at de same time but it DID make him leave faster"

Xander frowns "Your..ill? Did Nardo mess up on tea again? Maybe no more tea from him and a strict talk is in order"

Cota frowns, and a voice..it's Nardo "I will let you know I have served no one tea." He doesn't even like tea that much"So it wasn't me..bad soup maybe?"

Krisha says, "I am fine dear, I feel better than earlier, might of been too much spice in the hot root stew"

Zeldove asks, "I say relax and hot root? Gross who would want to eat that stuff..I mean mild maybe but not super hot"

Xander frowns but sits next to Krisha still "Are you sure your ok? Getting ill is not a good thing and you said you didn't sleep well last night"

Cota says, "I could get Nanaa or Gorvenalus.."Nardo hmmphs and turns to walk back to the infirm, mutting about book work or something as the mouse shrugs

Krisha says, "As I said I will be ok and feel better, it's likely just something that disagreed with me since not eaten much today and hot root is spicy but was craving it some reason"

Zeldove says, "Odd thing ta crave but hey I once only wanted to eat apples, I liked them and now I don't..so odd"

Xander asks, "You usually don't like spicy food, why would you crave spicy food for?"

Cota finds a chair and sits down "Something new and she...likes it maybe?"He shrugs and likely is not much help.

Krisha hmmms softly"I..don't..sort of ate a couple bowls at lunch and was fine till later, maybe that's why got ill, not used to it "She yawns as she is tried still"I need more sleep too, that's likely stress"

Zeldove says, "too much stress around"Her ears droop "And other stuff...which reminds me in the morning I head off sur..so hope de eagle is around,I know meeting Mack in Ferravale""

Xander nods "Ok..sounds good Zeldove ..I can walk to ferravale with you and the rest of the way will be Silverwing and Mack"

Cota tilts his head "Where is she going? Why so worried, is it cause of all the snow?"

Krisha listens as they talk and leans back in her chair with a frown, "Wouldn't mind snow right now, might step outside a moment but will be back inside in a few" Ok just slowly stand, last time she stood it didn't end well, for another beast anyways.

Zeldove just watches her stand "That wise ta do...or least get a cloak if getting fresh air"

Xander answers cota "I..worry fer my friends and Zeldove is going to go to the Western shore soon, join the Long Patrol it seems..she will be ok she will have a couple tag alongs..made sure of it"He frowns as he heads over to be closer to Krisha just in case he needs to be.

DoraRose comes down the staircase, scowling and muttering something about her grandmother. "Oh, hey, every beast." She smiles coming over and sitting next to Krisha, planting her heels on a footstool. "How are y'all?" She holds her arms out to Cota for a hug, her mood improving instantly as soon as she sees her friends and grandson.

Cota smiles and hugs Dorarose..."Hi Grandma, how are you?"

Krisha nods a semi hello as she slips to the breezeway to get some fresh air, it helps a little bit "I..could be better but i am ok right now just a little..blah, and tried"

Zeldove shrugs, "It's a ..so so day, not the best day but hey..there is a dead fox on the road, good redience...oh sorry..yeah its ok day..cold but hey it's winter time"

Xander frowns and seems more concerned with Krisha,"Maybe trying hot root stew was bad and knowing the otters they likely put WAY too much spice in it"He is still not sure what she ate it in the first place, and he is still not sure if he should see if Nardo made her tea again or not either."I can have someone else walk Zeldove to Ferravale, maybe Matilda can"

DoraRose smiles at her grandson. "Oh, I'll be alright. Had an argument with Nana, but it'll be fine, don't worry." She goes to run his back as she watches Krisha. A smile teases at the corners of her eyes and mouth, but instead of addressing that, she turns to the other badger. "I could take her. I've been meaning to visit Ferravale for a few weeks, and I have a few days off, too. Why is there a dead fox?" She figures there's probably a sensible explanation, so she waits to hear it.

Krisha frowns as she lets some cold air help her feel better, oddly enough it does seem to help "Been a day day guess...never try hotroot and still not sure why I ever wanted to try it" She looks a little pale but seems to be feeling better now slowly, she also seems tried.

Zeldove speaks calm and clear "I killed it, with an arrow...him and a couple weasels were after 3 squirrels...whom are safe, but the fox..k..killed"She looks away as tears form "So I killed the fox..and cut off his head later..strupid fox"

Xander frowns as he sighs "Zeldove...."He nods "Thanks Dorarose...that would be helpful and I can stay with Krisha, maybe help out so she gets some needed rest,she did mention not slept well last night"

DoraRose frowns slightly. "Ah, that fox. I'm sorry, Zeldove," she says gently, standing and going to put a paw on the hare's shoulder. "Ewan was a good beast. I'm....y'know, 'I'm sorry' seems so shallow, like beasts don't really mean it, but...." she kneels beside the hare's chair and tries to hold her paws. "My mate Leon was killed a few seasons ago. I know how much it hurts when the one you love the most dies. So believe me...I am so, so sorry."

Krisha makes her way back in and sits down slowly in a chair, for now she seems to be feeling a little better.She offers Xander a small smile"I' ok..sit down.." She glances at Dora and the rest but just stays quiet, she had heard yes but not much on details.

Zeldove frowns "He..he said he..was falling in love with me.tis not fair, the fox shouldn't of been able to stand and yet he did....that attack he did was wrong, he was behind him..."She wipes away threatening tears "I..wanna honor Ewan..join de..Long Patrol, I had thought of joining..maybe before but for sure now, I am sure they could use an archer like me"

Xander frowns , he then adds "You can meet Zolomon, friend of mine he is also an archer..darn good one as well. I might send a letter to him, not heard from him lately, guess he been busy"

DoraRose smiles sadly and nods. "Aye, 'tisn't fair, you're right. But I think, if you believe 'tis the right path for you, then honouring Ewan by joining the Patrol is a wonderful idea." She looks up at Xander. "I'm sure Zolomon's okay. Maybe he got promoted and is trying to figure out his new role at Salamandastron." She doesn't know that that's actually accurate.

Krisha chuckles "Zolomon..promoted? Probably not but I do remember..."She clears her throat "Remember him ..being a good archer excuse me please" And she speeds up the talking and is going to the breezeway quickly for a few moments.

Zeldove says, "He sounds neat...."She frowns as the badger heads outside "Well, that can't be good."She grins at something earlier "Patch was here earlier...now THAT was funny, cheered me up al ot seeing as he got in her way, hee hee" She lets them figure out what she means by that.She hmmms "Fellow archer...neat, maybe a friend.."She frowns "I am gonna miss Ewan, he..he was sort of like a big brother to me more than...well anything else""

Xander says, "A lot will miss EWan..."He frowns and starts to follow Krisha and frowns more, he glances at Dorarose "Maybe Angela could..check on her later, could she be like allergic to hot root maybe?""

DoraRose nods. "Aye, a lot will miss Ewan. It's okay to be sad. You have to let yourself feel sad and angry in order to move past it. He would want that for you." Raising an eyebrow at the haremaid's cryptic statement, the Warrior watches Krisha hurry out of the room. Grinning, she looks up at Xander. "Oh, aye, she should /definitely/ see Nana, though I doubt it's 'cause she's allergic to hot root."

Krisha coughs a little and sits down, yeah she is likely outside a little while and luckily no one else is around or getting her moody as she cleans up before coming back inside and sits slowly in a chair "Ok..may need rest of the day off to rest..spice is bad, but I oddly...wanted to try it"She sighs and leaned back.

Zeldove nods "I..suppose..I mean I did almost punch Patch but I liked it better what happen instead...hee"She sighs "Anyways I am gonna head off tomorrow, meet up with Silverwing and Mack...after breakfast"

Xander frowns "Then wot is wrong...wot Patch do now?"He shakes his head and decides to not even ask, but he is curious "Wot happen to him? Someone else punch him?"

DoraRose is smiling with her eyes and struggling to suppress the rest of her smile. Instead she focuses on the hare. "Okay, I've got to know. What happened to Patch? What did he do this time?" Yeah, THIS time.

Krisha sighs and feels safe enough to speak now "He was complaining bout something at the tavern, and told him to be quiet...then was about to escort him out and.."She shrugs, may as well say it "I threw up on him, his fault not mine..he wouldn't move, his own fault really."

Zeldove grins, sad mood a little less "Patch needed a bath, I wonder if he knows wot a blooming bath tis even, hee hee...like he couldn't find Xander on his own...nope...like we knew where ya were, we didn't....where is Patch now? Who knows....likely not here fer awhile, ha ha ha.."

Xander frowns "Krisha got ill...."Ok great now he is worried, but ok it is a little funny what happen to Patch though.He sighs as he looks at Krisha "You sure your ok? Maybe the hot root was too spicy? Maybe some ..bad tea?" He is concerned, "I can help you to your room...I could watch the dibbuns, not hard..right..for like one afternoon so you can rest"

DoraRose can't help it. She bursts out laughing, mostly at Patch but also secretly at the badgers because of what she thinks might be happening with them over there. She sits down on the floor and laughs really, really hard. After a few moments, she quiets down to giggles, wiping her eyes. "Oh my goodness....maybe Patch learned something, there." She glances at Xander. "I'm not sure that's a good idea, Xander. I mean.....have you even ever /met/ the DAB?"

Krisha glares at Xander and snorts, mutters something, ok she is grumpy now.She sighs "There is Sister Ginny and Sister Anna...and yeah the DAB...is...ummm....yeah"She can handle them a lot better than she used to, but yes they are usually trouble when she isn't around. "And I am fine xander. just nothing wants to agree with me much todayI am sure its nothing..so stop..asking..."She seems to want the point across to not ask.

Zeldove hummms a little "Sooo....a walk to Ferravale..then off to the western shores.I will let ya all know with a letter or de bird that I got thar ok"

Xander frowns at the glare and nods "And..wot...dibbuns are fun..they like me and what's the DAB?"Has he not heard of it?" Some....club they made in that tree house they have in the orchards?"

DoraRose goes to pat the hare on the paw, criss-crossing her legs, seemingly fine with sitting on the stone floor. "I'm sure you'll be okay. I'll take you to Ferravale. I wish you many blessings, and I hope you can visit us again someday." She looks up at Xander, eyebrow raised. "You seriously don't know about the DAB? They're only the Dibbuns Against Bedtime, worst behaved Dibbuns on the planet. They like to steal pies, tie up adults, get into pillow fights, instigate food fights....you know, all /that/ sort of stuff." She gives Krisha a motherly glare. "And maybe if you're not feeling well, perhaps you should take a day off and visit the Infirmary." She won't be shut down as easily as the Badger Mother's husband.

Krisha glaces at Dorarose "I don't need a whole day..off"She sighs after it seems losing the glare battle, she nods "Fine..I suppose Angela can make sure I am ok and a day rest will be good as its likely some left over stress also"

Zeldove says, "The DAB sounds..like fun"Yeah right, she nods a small smile "Thanks..Dorarose, company be nice and yeah who knows one day visit, in a right fancy Long Patrol uniform...who knows maybe this fellow archer is handsome too....is he single?" She decides to stand, and sighs a little, "I should get ready...and see ya in de morning"She smirks at the badger "And you have FUN with those dibbuns"

Xander blinks "Dibbuns are always fun and sweet. I mean I have seen them run but if you say stop,they usually do and..ha..tie up adults likely novices or order beast,I am a badger..a warrior at that..they can try and knock me down and fail"He grins"Sides...I can tell them some stories or maybe make cookies with them"

DoraRose waves to the hare as she leaves, then gives Xander a pitying look. "Oh, how ignorant he is! Okay, fine. You go babysit the Dibbuns, Krisha visits the Infirmary, I'll take Zeldove to Ferravale. Pretty sure I'm having the most relaxing time." She's not stupid, she fully understands how terrifying her grandmother can be.

Krisha frowns "Stories...well they might sit for that and making cookies could be fun, just make sure they don't burn a paw..ok and also, you make sure the cookies don't burn" She sighed and will make her way to the infirm..slowly, a nap might be a good idea after all.

Xander watches her head up and looks at the mouse "Walking to Ferravale more relaxing? I mean...and I only burnt cookies like once"He says quietly and folds his arms over his chest, "So the dibbuns get out of class like..how soon?" He forgot to ask.

DoraRose smiles. "Yeah. I mean, my grandmother is pretty gruff. I doubt Krisha talking to her will be fun for Krisha. And you'll get to have the DAB, so that won't be fun at all....for you, anyway." Her smile is a bit on the wicked side. "As for me, I still have my wandering spirit, the one that aided my seasons ago when I left home and ended up here." She doesn't add that a thirst for revenge upon her sister's murderer also helped. "I've been cooped up here in the Abbey for far too long. This is my home, but sometimes I need a break." She stands and stretches. "As for when class lets out....I would go upstairs and ask, 'cause I honestly have no idea."

Xander nods and he stands and heads upstairs and looks like just in time "Where is Mother Krisha?" He gets as he smiles "Resting...so ya got me that gonna be fun?"Fun who whom is left to be seen.

Meanwhile Krisha laid down on a cot in the infirm, ok it was soft enough and soon rest over took her and she fell asleep.

Krisha was sitting in her chair and had let a couple order beast known to have whom ever had wanted to come, to gather in the Great Hall, she sat quietly and waited.She had also made sure to tell the cooks to have those cookies, milk and candied nuts ready.

Ewan peeks into the room and frowns as he backs up, he was not sure about this, why did he volunteer for this anyways and he already had thoughts of just going back to his room.

LilyMoore comes bounding to the door and, unless he moves, runs smack into the male hare! "Eeek! Oh, hi, Ewan!" She has also volunteered, except she's helping to make sure the DAB doesn't do anything ridiculous. They've been behaving here recently, which just makes her suspicious. But she's willing to give them a chance.

Gorvenalus makes his way into the room and offers a smile to those gathered and has his log book with him"I do hope every beast is doing well tonight"

Zeldove grins, she is liking her outfit..all jingle with bells, even the hat and the shoes are just funny looking"This will be fun,I am sure..right Ewan?"She waves the the mouse "Ello thar"

Xander walks to the door to stand by the two hares, he sidesteps Lilymoore and nods a hello. He is dressed in a dark blue cloak that's fuzzy and soft, he has a hat also but no bells on him.The lining is white with like a holly leaf pattern. He had to adjust the outfit some but it ended up fitting ok. "I am glad your both help."He says to the hares "Trust me, really glad"

Isa for once is with the rest of the dibbuns or hasn't escaped yet. She's got herself a cushion and put it on the floor by the fireplace so she can sit in warmth and comfort as she pokes at a soft toy mouse doll someone had left among the toys for the group of dibbuns to play with.

Krisha smiles, she glances at Gorvenalus "I..am unsure how well I can do this"She was concerned as it showed, she had not gotten as much done as she would of liked, she had let someone else tend to helping her with most of this.

Ewan jumps slightly as Xander is by him suddenly, he nods" "I..said I would help so I am helping"

LilyMoore goes over to the area that's been set up for the Dibbuns, making sure nobody snuck in any implements of chaos (slingshots, stale scones, sticks, you know, the usual DAB weapons). She smiles at the kitten. "Hi, Isa! Hey, that dolly looks kind of like my Mom, or Martin the Warrior!" She points to the tapestry to emphasize who she's talking about. Speaking of the Gatekeeper, DoraRose comes in from the kitchens, where she's been helping make the snacks for the occasion. There's flour on her apron, but she doesn't see concerned as she instead just watches everyone enter the room.

Gorvenalus smiles and he pats the Badgermother on the shoulder "Your do fine dear."

Lacota follows DoraRose from the kitchen, pushing a cart. "Thank you again for the assistance," he says to the mouse.

Zeldove grins at Xander and Ewan"So..when does this fun fun fun begin sur?"

Xander looked into the room and at the hares "Soon...I mean there is a story first and then...well guests arrive "He smiles now.He looks at a sack he has of some wrapped gifts and chuckles, yeah for later but there is some things for now like some knitted gloves and hats, he smiles more as he feels happy for once, this will be a fun night, a good night.

Isa pauses in her quiet, lazy play, her ears perking as Lily comes over. The tiny kitten needs to weaponry! Her little claws tend to be trouble enough. She looks at the doll and then over to the tapestry, considering the similarities "It's ah mouse...but maybe rats an' stuff isn't gonna run from the doll like inna scary picture" as the tapestry did have vermin fleeing Martin and the doll is currently being tossed up in the air and caught by a kitten she may be right. The rest of the hall she's not paying much attention to though her ears occasionally flick in their direction when she hears the adults talking.

Nardo had decided to come join in this fun night, not that he had anything else to do really.Beside him was his hedgehog friend Mack who seemed to find this more interesting than Nardo did, he shakes his head "OK,OK it looks rather..enjoyable"

Krisha smiles and then seems to notice the crowd of beasts and smiles "Good evening every beast."She smiles "This is the first Snow Badger event I have done, so not sure how it will go or if it will be the same as others but I do know the story. ..though snow has come early but that's ok" She smiles "So..is everyone ready for a story and then maybe some guests, or I think we have some"She hopes so anyways.

Ewan frowns, he starts to head away from the door "I..think I will sit this out, ya still got one hare..right?..right"He starts to walk away towards the exit to the outside.

LilyMoore smiles and shakes her head. "Nope, nobeast is gonna be runnin' away from that doll like they do from Martin or my Mom." seeing her mother, the Bellringer points her out, just to help make sure everything is clear. DoraRose smiles at the Friar. "Oh, it's my pleasure, Lacota. I love working in the kitchens, especially for the Dibbuns. They're so happy when they have cookies, it makes everything worth it." She doesn't look very intimidating in her dress and flour-covered apron, and those who know her know she likes it that way. As the Badger Mother starts talking, Lily scuttles around, helping quiet down the giggling, whispering, squirming Dibbuns. Squirrelbabe is even here, looking polite and well-behaved. She raises her paw and asks, "Why we have guests?"

Gorvenalus smiles as he sits nearby and chuckles "The abbey likes guests, though these seem special maybe, we shall see after the story is told"

Lacota pushes the cart, and passes out cups of mulled cider to abbey beasts. "Careful now, this is hot... Let it cool a little..."

Zeldove goes to grab Ewan's arm "Your staying, and your helping and your gonna make dibbuns smile" She smiles at him and adjusts his hat with a grin.

Xander watches the two hares and peeks into the Great Hall again watching and listening quietly.

Isa flops over on the cushion so she can follow Lily's pointing to Dora without turning around "...Y'mum should 'ave a tapiastery too if alla beast run from her too" she says after a long moment of thought. She turns a little to see Krisha as the badger gathered the attention from the hall ...What's a snow badga?" she quietly asks Lily "Are we goin' outside in da snow again?"

Nardo finds a chair and Mack follows him and sits down "Snow Badger ya say? Is he...made of Snow?" Naro just rolls his eyes as the hedgehog jokes around.

Krisha smiles as she chuckles "He brings the snow or so it's told" She smiles "As Autumn ends..winter season begins and bells toll winters birth, that is the time the Snow Badger comes and visits, but he is unseen by anyone on the night he visits all the good creatures of the lands. Lord of cold and ice, of snow and whose breath can freeze the night..yes it seems he brought the snow or his snow hares did a little early but he, does that sometimes.See the winter is important as it lets the land rest till spring when things once more grow anew.He comes one night and brings the gifts..but all need to be asleep as if he is seen....he'll leave no winter gifts and if he was seen before thar would of not been the snow, and without that no rest for the lands till spring and that would mean no spring and we all want spring, spring to have crops to grow, hear birds sing, see the flowers...so tonight let's all sleep well and not try and take any peeks for the Lord of Winter"

Benar steps towards the doorway and stands by Xander for a moment as he glances at him "So this is the surprise of yours, it's nice and do not worry, I didn;t see you at all" He makes his way to the Great Hall and gets to his chair to sit down.He has gotten back to some of his duties but is still taking it easy.

Ewan nods, he salutes Benar and then nods to Zeldove and Xander "Alright.....but once we are done helping this outfit comes off and I go back into my normal uniform."

LilyMoore winks at Isa. "Well, let's be quiet and find out!" As Krisha starts to tell the story, the Bellringer sits beside the kitten and goes to hug her and Squirrelbabe close. (Having the DAB leader be so close to the young cta may not be the best idea in the world, but so far it's working out okay." Grace the gosling hugs her security blanket close, eyes wide as she listens to the story. DoraRose just listens quietly from where she is, waiting for the Friar's signal to start bringing out cookies and things.

Gorvenalus nods to Benar as he enters, even helps him to his chair if it's needed. Otherwise he quietly listens to the story and writes a little in his log book.

Zeldove smiles wide as she jumps up and down a couple times "Ok do we go into the room yet, do we wait to go inside, wot now?"

Lacota stops his cart beside Benar's chair, and ladles out the other squirrel a mug of the mulled cider. He's only half listening to the story himself.

Xander gives a smile to Benar and speaks "Yeah..found this and the snow hare outfits in an old trunk Uncle Oz had."He watches Benar walk into the Great Hall and glaces at the hares "We..wait for the right moment"Whatever that is he thinks as he is unsure himself, so he waits and figures it out.

Isa puffs up slightly at the surprise hug but she allows it and wiggles round until she can see everything over Lily's arm. She listens to the story and frowns with a little puzzled look before she looks up at Lily and the questions start "So a snow is like bed covers for ground?...Can alla badgers freeze stuff by breathin' on it? Why's he givin' out gifts? Is he sellin' them?" she hasn't really mastered the idea of doing things to be generous and nice so far "What if we wake up inna night by accident cos we was dreamin' an' we see 'im? Would he break spring anyway?...Do we still get presents if he breaks spring"

Nardo chuckles "Break Spring?" Mack frowns though "Be nice my friend...dibbuns worry ya know"He sneaks out a flask and takes a quick sip and places it back into his tunic before leaning back in the soft chair he found.

Krisha smiles, she notices Benar and smiles again "Hello Abbot Benar, it's nice of you to join us, we were about to have guests"

Ewan tenses up, great that was a single right? Ok but he is not going out till Zeldove and Xander do, he is waiting.

Benar smiles, he takes the mug of cider from Lacota and nods, "That you Friar."He leans back "Guests you say, well let's see them then, shall we?"

LilyMoore starts blinking rapidly at the rapid-fire questions. "Um, well....let's just listen and see what happens next, and then you ask me all those questions later, okay?" She gives Nardo a quick glare before turning her attention back to the Dibbuns. Grace looks a little worried, but she stays quiet as the other Dibbuns start getting restless, obviously excited about having guests visit. Squirrelbabe, however, is watching Mack, wondering what his flask contains.

Zeldove grins, she is SOOOOO getting out there and doing a cartwheel, as soon as she gets the ok to of course. She has way too much energy right now and looks like she is gonna have more fun than the dibbuns are.

Lacota wonders if he should give the word to pass out cookies, in order to placate restless dibbuns. In the meantime, he passes out cider to the adults.

Xander frowns, ok he can do this as he smiles and walks out wearing the dark blue thick cloak, and a mating hat(think Santa but its blue and white not red and white. " He smiles at the dibbuns and bows to the adults as he speaks "It seems..I was called to help and I found two of The LOrd of Winter, The Snow Badger's snow hares...."He smiles as he motions the hares to come on out, of course one likely already did. He made sure they had some sort of coloring for their fur to look more white, and it's easy to wash out later, they also have light blue outfits and a hat, one different thing of their outfits and his, their have ...jingle bells all over!!! So it jingles a lot when they walk.He also has a novice help him pass out some knitted hats and gloves to all, not just dibbuns as he smiles again"So gifts to stay warm this winter time.....so I do hope all will be ready when the Snow Badger comes later on tonight...I know I am"

Ewan walks out, the jingle jingle seems to upset him and make him pout, but as he sees smiling dibbuns he smiles back and tries to do a handstand...and falls, ok this snow hare is maybe tried tonight as he stands up slowly and stays quiet and close to Xander. But he will if needed help pass out the hats and gloves.

Isa frowns with a little pout as her questions go unanswered. Fortunately, before she can protest too much badger distraction appears. She ducks quickly down behind Lily's arm so she can just peek out until she suddenly puts her paws over her eyes "I didn't look, I'm not breakin' spring" she has to peek out again when a hat suddenly gets left on her head. After a moment of inspecting it though she jams it on her head and ducks down below Lily's arm with it all.

Nardo sees the glare and pouts, he could be up in the infirm as he does have some...well writing to do, a lot of writing and a little drawing but he can do that later on. Mack grins and likes the hat and gloves, "Thank ya kindly Mr. badger"

Krisha smiles when Xander and his=Snow Hares= Appear, she will have to thank him later for the surprise and the help as well."It was nice to have these visitors, wasn't it you all?"

Ewan stays to help, but no more tricks.He is just here to smile and wave, yes smile and wave and get some cookies.

Benar smiles at the visitors "Visitors are always welcome, this was a nice surprise indeed,thank you for coming to our Abbey, do stay for milk and cookies before you head home"He keeps a smile as he knows who they are but he is not letting on that he knows.

Gorvenalus writes down notes on the story, the gifts and just stuff of tonight to later place in the abbey logs.

LilyMoore smiles. She passes her hat and gloves on to a guest since she has some brand new ones her great-grandmother made for her. Squirrelbabe dons her hat and gloves, as do the other Dibbuns, their excited chatter and thanks filling the hall. Grace even got a new hat, blue just like her blanket. A Dibbun hedgehog stands up and staaaares up into Xander's face. "Are you /really/ the Snow Badger?" she asks in a hushed voice.

Zeldove cartwheels and about crashes into a chair, but brushes it off as if it was part of the trick, she smiles at Ewan "See..tis fun silly face and they love us"

Lacota gives a nod toward DoraRose, to start passing out the cookies and milk, as he wheels the empty cider kettle back to the kitchen.

Xander smiles, and the question comes as he answers, he was always one to keep the truth, ""I was asked to help"This is true, he was asked to help,maybe not by the Snow Badger but..He smiles "See he does ask some other badgers to help also at times, so he can get ready for tonight and be able to get it all done in one night, he has...helpers check on the dibbuns and make sure they are behaving this very night"He smiles still. But he also has some gifts for others too like Dorarose, Lacota, Benar and even Krisha...some scarfs to wear or maybe a nice blanket to have, not a large blanket but cozy for a lap and to stay warm by a fire.

Nardo watches Xander as he stays in his chair.Mack seems to have cheered some and chuckles "Nice of him, hmms Nardo?"

Krisha takes the gift and smiles at Xander as she nods, she then speaks "And it is soon bed time for all you dibbuns, but milk and cookies first."

Benar takes the package he can open his later on,"Thank you." He smiles at Krisha "You have done well for your first Snow Badger even Mother Krisha, Oz would be proud"

Catching the Friar's signal, DoraRose disappears into the kitchens, returning shortly with the treats for the Dibbuns. LilyMoore gets up to help, helping keep the Dibbuns sitting quietly. When Xander gives her a gift, the surprised Gatekeeper smiles and stuffs it into her apron pocket (where it promptly gets flour all over the outside of the package). She'll open hers later, too.

Zeldove smiles as she looks around, this was fun..very fun indeed but there is cookies soon and she is hungry, but she will control herself and just get one cookie and later she will go sneak a pie out of the kitchens.

Lacota finds he has a present of his own. He waits to open it till later tonight.

Nardo looks around and shrugs as he stands "I should get back to helping the old.....ummmm"He thinks hard on his next words ."Umm....the healer mouse"

Mack smirks, "The one you called a hag...." His mouth is covered but a bit too late, yeah Nardo may want to avoid the infirm tonight as the hedgehog just snorts and shakes his head.

Xander smiles as he watches all the beasts, he made sure all got some small gift and he makes sure they all get snacks as he smiles "I should head off and make my reports, remember be good and mind Mother Krisha and go to bed on time..ok?"

Gorvenalus writes in his book.He looks up at an offered gift and nods his thanks before going back to writing. This in his mind has been a very good enjoyable night for all or least most.

Benar smiles as he listens and watches, soon falling asleep in his chair.

LilyMoore gawks at Nardo and Mack. After they leave, she hurries over to her mother, who has finished passing the snacks to the last Dibbun. "Momma..." the Bellringer tells DoraRose what she heard. The Gatekeeper shakes her head. "I think we should just leave it alone. Nana can deal with them. It will be okay." A few Dibbuns have crowded around Xander, including Squirrelbabe. "Why you need to go?" the DAB Ringleader inquires. "Cans you tells us wheres da Snow Badger lives??" Another Dibbuns asks, and some of the other Dibbuns start clamouring for that, too.

Lacota keeps well away from the clamoring dibbuns and their sticky fingers. He doesn't need that on his habit. He would certainly never call Angela a hag...

Xander blinks as he is surrounded! Well least it's by dibbuns and not vermin, he smiles as he likes the dibbuns "Well..ya see I don't know, I never asked...but likely somewhere so cold normal beasts could freeze into an ice statue if they went there because...well the Snow Badger can ...well he is clearly used to it as he helps bring the cold, the snow and ice for winter and he wanted to bring it sooner this time some reason.I never really...thought to ask and some, very VERY few..do get a chance to see him and it's usually when he is in a good mood and lets it happen and I heard they get something special from him. BUT its only if he LETS himself be seen, he is like..invisible"He spreads his arms out wide as he smiles. He lets the =snow hares= go ahead and head off as clearly they look tired and well since they are supposed to be snow hares they would need to get back to the Snow Badger after all.

Krisha chuckles as Xander is surrounded and clears her throat "Dibbuns...your need to get cleaned up and to bed soon dears so the Snow Badger's..helper doesn't give a bad report"

Gorvenalus smiles, he closes his log book as he gives a chuckle "I think tonight has gone well Mother Krisha and has brought much cheer to our abbey, and...you did well my dear with your first Snow Badger Night"

"Aawww..." is the chorus arising from the Dibbun horde. Squirrelbabe looks ready to pick a fight, but then she looks at Xander again. "DIBBUNS!" she squeaks in her little voice. "Wet's go so's da Thnow Badgew can bwings more snowsy!" LilyMoore hurries over. "Aye, let's get all the sticky off and then we can go to bed and hope the Snow Badger visits us again." The Dibbuns cheer at the idea of more snow, and most of them grab their presents and get ready to charge up to the dormitories.

Lacota sighs with relief. This all went better than he dared hope. "Yes, dibbuns. Off to bed, or no breakfast tomorrow..."

Krisha smiles as she sees Sister Ginny and Sister Anna come, she also has a couple order beasts help led the dibbuns off to get cleaned up and to bed.She helps and is soon back to slowly sit down in her chair, a little tried maybe but happy .

Xander watches as the dibbuns go off to bed and sighs himself, ok he will need to get a little cleaned up but luckily not too much as he finds a place to sit a moment "That....was interesting, I should help again next time"

Gorvenalus smiles "Perhaps....but we will see I suppose."He yawns as he takes off his glasses to rub his eyes and places the glasses back on, he glances over at the sleeping aAbbot and smiles "Someone should make sure Benar gets to his own bed, he will likely be more comfortable."

LilyMoore helps get the Dibbuns ready for bed. DoraRose, noticing how worried some of the Dibbuns had looked, walks over to the Friar and murmurs so only he can hear, "I know you were trying to be helpful, but I think threatening the Dibbuns with no food is unwise. Some of these orphans were slaves, and we don't want to be reminding them of horrors they lived through or make them think Redwall isn't a safe place." After the Dibbuns are settled down to sleep, Lily comes back down and sprawls out on the pillows the little ones had been sitting on.

Krisha nods "Thanks for the help, I was not able to do everything and ...you found out who was needed to contact an..well did that and the outfit and the snow hares, I liked that."She looks over at Dora and Lacota a moment and back to Xander "You...get some rest also and make sure the costumes are put away "

Xander nods as he stands, a quick kiss on her cheek and he heads off to change, and go to bed, it's been a long day, well past couple days.

Lacota harrumps at DoraRose's words. Of course she's right, but he won't admit it. "Mmm," is all he says in reply, before moving about to help clean up a little.

Krisha stands "I can make sure Benar gets to his bed, then I need some..(yawn)...sleep myself"

Knowing that that's probably the best she's going to get from the Friar, DoraRose helps clean up herself. "Lily, love, how 'bout you get get Nana, and I'll meet y'all in the Gatehouse in a little bit? You worked hard with the Dibbuns today, you need a break." "Okay, Mom." LilyMoore gets up and heads upstairs. When everything is all cleaned up, the Gatekeeper will join her family in their home.

Krisha smiles, she gets up after a little while, makes sure Benar is helped to his bed and then she checks on the dibbuns and goes to bed finally herself.

Xander was trying on the dark blue robes and the hat, he looked all festive as he smiled a little. Some bells on the hat as he adjusts it.

Krisha is unsure why she came to the attic and blinks when she sees "Xander? Wot are you...why are you wearing that?"

Xander turns and eyes widen, "I..it..."He sighs as he walks over "It was to be a surprise I was gonna help with the Snow Badger event and....Ewan and Zeldove will be snow hares."He smiles as he hugs her "I talked to Benar, he..forgive me, he is still disappointed but he forgave me, he ...spoke to me"He has for sure gotten a good deal of stress gone. "He also mentioned you should likely do the story but I could still..help some.I even found Richard...someone Uncle Oz knew and got like toys and some things and found the one whom makes the knitted hats and gloves and things. I did it so you have less stress"

Krisha hugs him in return "I love you Xander, so very much and I dont think I would do well if you were not in my life still...I lost...lost too many beasts the past 3 seasons"

Xander holds her close and nods "I know and I am here and never leaving again. I can not promise to always be safe but I will do my best love and I miss Uncle Oz and our daughter...also. I even miss Ferro"

Krisha lays her head on his shoulders as she feels tears flow "I am glad your here at my side. "

Xander just enjoys the hug "You will forever be my always" He smiles and then goes to help her downstairs, first he does put the dark blue cloak and robe back, he has his normal tunic on and leads the Badger Mother on to the pond

Krisha follows and shivers some "It is cold out here Xander." She waits though to see what he is up to.

Xander smiles as there is a small campfire by the table for two. Some cooked fish, some wine that he got some the tavern in Ferravale, some mixed vegetables, a roll and apple tarts"Dinner for two"He can cook this but cookies, sometimes die a horrible death in the oven, yes he tried to make sugar cookies and they became ruined, so there is this and the Friar will deal with cookies for the Snow Badger.

Krisha smiles and sits down "This is very nice Xander, but...why?"

Xander says, "Cause I love you and wanted to do something nice besides help with snow badger things dear and its stuff from the tavern,not here"

Krisha nods and gives him a kiss, "Love you as well"She has less stress now too seeing as the Abbott is better enough to do more now.She sips the wine and nods "Its good"

Xander nods and sits to also eat and drink as he nods, a sip and a bite of food, "I am glad there is less worry on things"

Krisha says, "Yes, that is good. Benar is recovered enough to do more now"

Xander nods "I heard and am glad he has recovered well, L think that was a lot of my worry and stress, wanting forgiveness and wondering how Benar is and both are good news and I am forgiven"

Krisha nods and a smile"Less stress is always good"

Xander chuckles and smiles "So....ya ready for the Snow Badger?"

Krisha smiles "I am thanks to you love, thank you"She smiles tonight was a good night and she was happy and any worries melted away and sress she had had left.She was ready for what ever the next few days..weeks..seasons brought.

Benar is walking in from the outside carrying a stack of new plates, balancing them carefully the Abbot moves the terracotta colored, clay plates onto a side board next to a stack of three others. He smiles at the novice nearby, "That's the last of them, a whole new set of plates for Lacota, be sure to tell him they are all here."

Xander had been avoiding the abbot or maybe the abbot just avoided him, it was hard to tell really as he was coming into the kitchen to look for something, he frowns a little as of course he runs into an abbey beast having a bad day, "I was just wanting flour...ok fine"His voice is calm as he sighs and decides ok skip the flour idea,he can figure out something else that can work,"Hmmms maybe there is extra flour at the tavern..all the way back at....Ferravale"He frowns but shrugs, its fine he can check there later maybe, hearing a voice he turns to see the Abbot but doesn't move to leave the room, he stays there for now.

Benar looks at Xander, then turns back to the Novice, "I will be back in about half an hour with the new drinking mugs for the dinner set, they are just baking in the kiln now," He turns toward the door, "Then we should have enough new crockery for the winter."

Xander frowns, he starts to walk away but stops and takes a chance the abbot will listen, even if he doesn't respond"Hello...Abbot Benar. I am glad your ok, or well better. I.."He clears his throat, "I'm sorry for wot happen, it was an accident, a very bad one...and you likely hate me or your..maybe afraid of me and I likely deserve that, I'm...sorry"His tone shows he truly is sorry and has been for a while."I..thought you were dead and I am glad your not and if you like I can just stay away from the abbey."He frowns he did promise to help with that Snow badger thing, his sort of surprise though for Krisha "I just need to do something first"

Benar pauses in the door way and turns to look back at Xander, he stares up at the badger for a long moment before speaking, "I am not scared of you Xander, what I am is disappointed. You abandoned your wife, your child, you started acting irrationally but where not so far gone that you where not of sound mind. It took almost killing me to knock you out of the state you where in so yes I am disappointed you would not listen to those who love you and consider you a friend."

Xander frowns "I didn't..."He starts and seems to think more on his words and sighs, a couple tears fall "I..wasn't myself,I admit that and..I am sorry,I already told Krisha sorry. I..almost left Mossflower when I though you dead..please forgive me Benar. I..any advise I will listen, I have seeked some advice and I am trying to make up for it best I can."

Benar folds his hands into the sleeves of his habit and stares up at the badger over the top of his glasses, "The charter of Redwall Abbey is full of forgiveness Xander, so I forgive you, in the name of the charter and the friendship we shared all these seasons. It will take longer for me to not be disappointed in you, I expect to see you stick at that help you are being offered by the healers."

Xander nods, "I...I will and thank you Benar"He goes to gently hug the Abbot but seems unsure of weather it's a good idea yet or not. "I don't plan to wander off either,no worries on that.I also want to help Krisha have less worry, help out when the abbey has the get ready for the Snow Badger, I even got Ewan and Zeldove to help and they are hares so it sort of makes it more..fun"

Benar steps back away from the intended hug, clearly not comfortable with that just yet, "Well the Snow badger festival is one of the Abbey's finest and oldest traditions, it would not be the abbey if we did not have a badger telling the story. So i am glad you are helping
out with it."

Xander frowns a little at no hug but it's ok, he understands as he nods"And I know the story, heard Uncle Zee and Uncle Oz always....tell it"He frowns again thinking back on it, "I...miss them..."He manages to not cry, there will always be memories.He manages a small smile"And...cookies but Lacota can handle the cookies, I would..likely burn them,I have made cookies before but he is a lot better at it"

Benar asks, "Milk and Cookies is traditional, so are you telling the story or Krisha?" He frowns, "It should probably be the Badgermother telling the story, but I will bow to what she decides on the evening."

Xander says, "I..planed to, I didn't ask yet as she seemed a little stressed and busy and I know that's mainly my fault since she is doing some of your duties as well."

Benar says, "Well I am mostly back on my feet now and taking back over my duties so hopefully she will be less stressed and can focus on it," he taps his chin, "Perhaps you should tel the story together, each of you taking parts and characters in the tale to do a bit at a time"

Xander smiles "I...like the idea" He has been smiling more lately "I can ask her."

Benar says, "Well then that sounds like a nice plan and I am sure she would appreciate the help"

Xander smiles "Yeah....thank you Benar and...I promise to if needed seek help for wot ever and..accept any help as well"

Benar slips out for the time being and heads outside with a thick cloak.

Krisha had taken a day off to rest some, it seemed to help her some as she was better able to stop two dibbuns from fighting over a book, lucky the book didn't tear apart.

Cota can be heard in the hall, and once again the mouse PJ is with him, a season older than Cota and today being extra annoying"Your just a cry baby, so whats in the backpack that's so so important." He is also a little taller so can hold things above his head. "Give it back!" The two have a tug of war with the pack and it tears open and out falls a couple drawings that Cota has, some sort of blue pebble and a scarf.

Krisha was just exiting the kitchen with a mug of something and sighs,"Wot now"She mutters and goes to see what is going on before something breaks in the kitchen.

Benar walks in carrying a large tray of mugs, the clay shines and are still slightly warm, the Abbot moves to place them on a table next to a whole stack of other new mugs and plates, he nods to Krisha, "Good day Mother and... what s going on over there?"

Cota gasps as he gathers his things and then goes to punch the other mouse in the shoulder, this in turn causes PJ to of course fight back as they roll onto the floor and bump into a chair and knock it over, nothing was on the chair thank goodness but they still seem to go out it and more so when one of the pictures rips in two and Cota screams , but he isn't the one that ends up punching anyone, PJ does as Cota sniffs and kicks PJ in the side.Yeah they are such good friends, not.

Krisha sets the mug down and marches over, grabbing each by the back of the shirt and lifts them up and looks to each of them, a deep breath and she exhales as she doesn't need this right now, she speaks not too happy"I don't care...who started it, it's over now and there will be explaining starting now" She manages to stay calm for now.She hears Benar but for now she is focused on the two fighting teens.

Benar stares across the table and adopts "Displeased Abbot stance No.4" hands folded into his sleeves, peering over his glasses, a frown, directed at both teenagers, Krisha may be dealing with them but he is here and he knows just how to appear to disapprove of something, seeming to stare straight through them both and see every little thing they have gotten up to they shouldn't.

Cota sort of kicks out and then just frowns "He riped the only picture I had of..of mom" He frowns.PJ rolls his eyes "And he is just a cry baby that no one likes..even ya dad left the abbey but you stayed" Cota looks ready to try and punch the other mouse back but just frowns,he looks up at the badger and then the floor "Sorry Mother Krisha.."PJ though seems to not be sorry though as he folds his arms over his chest and hmmphs.

Krisha listens as she looks between them both"There are no reasons to fight in the abbey and yes you two were fighting.You were interested in being a novice i though Cota amd ain't you already a novice PJ."She will make them sit in a chair each, chairs not next to one another just in case of trouble.

Benar walks around the table so they can both see him and shakes his head, "I must admit I am dissapointed, fighting in the Abbey... from beasts meant to be upholding the abbey charter... I am very disappointed you both... I however will leave your punishment to Mother Krisha."

The two look like they will start fighting again and then look away from each other. Cota frowns as he is more willing to stop"I..don't know if I want to be novice or not,maybe I can train to be a warrior."This gets a laugh from PJ "A weakling as a warrior, what a joke"

Krisha snorts,"There is no warrior training here and warriors don't start fights in the abbey."She shakes her head and lets Benar speak before she speaks again looking between them "I think they need help in the kitchens for the next week, washing and drying dishes. " She looks at them and speaks more "A novicce doesn't start fights,they try to get along with one another,they help one another."

Benar says, "As you say Mother Krisha, peeling vegetables and helping bake for the Snow Badger night which I think neither of them should be attending now."

Cota frowns, Pj also frowns at this and then hmmphs "Don't believe in the stupid badger anyways." Cota makes a fist but then relaxes it "He isn't stupid and this is your fault" .."No tis yours!" and it goes back and forth a couple times before they stop .A glare at each other and then looking at the floor.Silent now.

Krisha nods, she feels the urge to yell but then the agrueing stops, "I agree with Benar..your help and then go upstairs .I will find someone to sit up there and make sure you don't try and sneak back down."She looks at the turned over chair,and around the kitchen "Also, clean up the mess you tow made and we can let the friar know he has help to cut some vegetables and bake for the event."She looks between them "Is that understood?"

Benar says, "Well you seem to have this in hand Krisha, I will leave you too it," he looks at them both and turns to head for the stairs, "Maybe when they are done with their chores you can send them both to talk to me sometime Krisha... when you think they are ready."

Cota frowns "Understood" Pj finally nods as well "Understood...."He seems a lot less thrilled with the idea of extra chores and having to do more thimgs. They both frown at the idea of talking to the Abbot, that's like the last place one wants to go if in trouble.

Krisha nods "Yes when they are ready to talk"Seems she won't let them get by without that chat with the abbot later on, She goes to sit down in the chair in the great hall, maybe she got up too early but things still need done.

Cota stays and PJ just snorts and starts to walk away before he is stopped by another order beast and gets to peeling some vegetables for dinner. Cota starts to silently cry,

Krisha kneels down in front of Cota, "Cota...are you alright? I am sorry to seem harsh but no fighting in the abbey and I don't care what started it or whom. I also do not know on what you should do novice or warrior but a true warrior is Honorable and listens to rules in places"

Cota suddenly tightly hugs the badger and starts sobbing "PJ said dad abandoned me, did he? Does he not love me anymore? and why did mom have to die, why wasn't she more careful on the road..why!"

Krisha frowns and wraps the mouse in a hug, she sighs "No he didn't not abandon you...he was ..."She sighs she isn't sure "Caleb found it hard to stay but he left you in the care of Friar Lacota, Dorarose and Angela, you even have an Uncle too that's around and they all care very much for you."She sighs "Maybe I can save you a mug of milk and a couple cookies, I can have Lacota put them aside for you, two of the best ones "

Cota sobs more and calms down, he sniffs "O...ok Mother Krisha and I am sorry for fighting with PJ, he..he doesn't like me much at all"
Krisha is good at comforting beasts as she nods

Krisha says, "Well, we can figure it out, but your not alone and you can come to me or Benar, as for any possible warrior training that is up to Lacota and Dorarose mainly,and it would be outside the abbey ,close by."

Cota smiles at the idea of possible training and nods.Another quick hug and he is off to help with those chores mentioned.

Krisha sighs and then heads off to check on the other dibbuns, they should be out of math class now.

Krisha is sitting at the table finishing a late dinner, she looks like she rather just not be here but she has work to catch up on now so she been fairly busy with Badger Mother duties as well as any Abbot duties that need done while Benar is still recovering.

Ewan enters the room from the kitchens, he has a mug of tea and a small plate of scones, and some cheese before he sits."Hallo Mother Krisha, how are you doing?"

Krisha smiles a little "I am, fairy well now that those herbs Nardo gave me seem to be done effecting me."She frowns "I didn't like being unconscious 3 and a half days and then feel like I want to vomit a day and a half, 5 days all together. He says he didn't mean to use such a strong sleep aid herb..I forgave him but still, he should be careful next time"

Ewan says, "I heard, I am glad your ok. I also noticed Xander up in the infirm"

Krisha sips her tea and leans back in her chair,she has finished her soup and rolls. "Yeah, Xander got stuck in the cold weather too long and didn't see a healer right away for a wound on his arm, he should be fine and he got needed rest. I think he is still in the abbey for a couple days, though he is avoiding Benar...for now." She sighs "Those two need to sit down and just chat already"

Ewan shrugs "I am..sure they will chat sometime soon, well maybe...I mean one never knows" He decides to eat his snack, yes he is a hare but he seems to not eat like a normal hare and most are use to that by now.

Ewan nods "Yeah, I could maybe be thar as well and chatting is always good for any beast"

Benar walks into the room and takes his time to get to a chair,he nods to Krisha and Ewan and tilts his head "What are we speaking of?Something I should know of or is Mother Krisha taking care of it?"

Krisha looks over at Beanr and helps him to his chair "I..can help anyways"She takes a deep breath "You and Xander need to talk. He was in the infirm 3-4 days recovering from being outside too much in this cold, and he got a slight case of frost bite, he is ok and ....he is still in the abbey but staying in me and his old room, the one I had before I was Badger Mother. He will still avoid being in the same room as you...he mainly wont leave the one room he is in."

Ewan listens as he sits there, then speaks "I can be there, when you chat and you can like have Matilda too if your concern Benar, but Xander has behaved while here and has expressed being sorry for the issue where you were hurt"

Benar allows the help to his chair and sighs, he holds up a paw "I never said Xander couldn't come to the abbey, nor did I say I wouldn't speak to him. At the time...yes I didn't want to see him."He frowns in thought. "I can figure out a good time and place for me and him to speak but I am unsure when"

Krisha nods "Ok, and thank you Benar." She decides to change the subject "Other news is Brother Caleb is heading to Halyard. Also a baby sparrow was born in the loft this morning, the parents have yet to name it,it's a girl"

Ewan says, "A future Sparra warrior most likely, how are the Sparra I wonder as they seem to stay inside the loft"

Benar nods "I heard of Caleb's trip...I wish he would of stayed here but after Cynthia's..death I understand. I heard you did well with the funeral?" He then smiles as he hears of the baby sparrow "A egg has hatched? That is wonderful news indeed and we need good news like that right now"

Krisha smiles "Its cute too...it was interesting to see, they had came down to make sure the chick was healthy, which it is and I made sure some of the old cloths we had were sent up to the Sparra instead of tossing the cloths, they can be used by our Sparra friends to warm thier nests, I hope that's ok Benar."

Ewan stands "I am gonna go to bed early, goodnight" And he heads on to, well bed.

Benar nods and waves to Ewan, he smiles at Krisha "It was a wonderful idea Krisha. One I should of thought of and didn't, very good use of old bits of cloth. The Sparra have always been our friends for many many seasons in fact, long before any of us were around"

Krisha smiles "I am glad your feeling better Benar, I had been worried. Things have gone fairy well around the abbey, we do have a small group of guests from the grasslands, a family of 8-9 mice, it was warmer in the abbey so they are staying till spring"

Benar says, "That is fine Krisha" He yawns as he feels tried and leans back "It's...good, good to be updated" He soon drifts off to sleep."

Krisha watches the abbot and then stands, goes over to him and gently picks him up and carries him to his room where he will be more cozy.She makes sure is is comfortable in his bed,takes off his glasses and lays them on the nightstand bu his bed and then heads off to bed herself as Sister Ginny did promise to get the dibbuns to bed,then of course Krisha always seems to wake up to at least one dibbun in her room when she wakes up due to maybe a nightmere or maybe they were scared of the wind or they just couldn't sleep well.

Krisha is taking some quiet time to look over some lesson plans for the dibbuns later on, looks like some sheets of paper with math on it. She is also eating a late lunch as she looks over the paperwork she has.

Cynthia has finished washing and drying dishes as she sits down and offers a smile "Hello Mother Krisha, you...doing ok today?"

Caleb dusts some snow off his cloak as he enters "It's snowing, then guess better to see snow than ice at least and the snow is sticking unlike a couple days ago"

Krisha glaces at the falling snow she sees in the doorway to the breezeway and shrugs "I guess, we will just have to make sure firewood stays in the fireplaces is all, we are good on firewood I made sure of that"She lays the papers aside "And snow is nice sometimes and other times not so nice"She frowns "My father never did like snow the few times he was ever in it and when he was it was barely a couple minutes, enough time to maybe go from the Blacksmith shop to the tavern and those were close together...well are close together"She sighs "Not sure what they will do without a Blacksmith, they will have to find one soon"

Cynthia nods "I.... I heard." She is not sure what to say, so many ideas but the words could come out wrong, so she is quiet about it and changes the subject "My son is debating on being a novice for the abbey or not"

Caleb smiles "Cota will figure it out, ya never know he might decide to be a warrior or join a passing traveling show maybe, he can still learn the abbey ways and rules though and its history, though me and Cynthia did teach him some things already of course. I say leave it up to Cota what he chooses to do"

Krisha nods "Of course, it's always important to let one choose their path in life, you can guild them still, but in the end it is their choose"She leans back in her chair "I always wondered wot could have happen had me and my father not stayed in the area, he had wanted to leave and.well not sure what his plans would have been likely west or east as he would have not chosen North cause of the colder weather there. I am glad he stayed though and that I live here"

Cynthia nods "I know me and Caleb missed being here when we moved elsewhere, so we came back and was still able to be Brother and Sister in the order, and I am glad of that"

Caleb says, "Me too...and winter season is usually the best...well usually it is, any plans for this winter?""

Krisha says, "I am unsure not discussed any ideas with Bear yet, likely the same ones as before. Once the pond is totally frozen and that will be checked, there is ice skating and there is always other snow fun.There will be a feast, likely join that with when midwinter is, and of course a small little thing for the night the Snow Badger is to come"She smiles "The dibbuns always do love that.hot coco and snowflake shaped cookies, small gifts and maybe candy chestnuts. The great hall and some other rooms will be decorated soon enough to make the whole winter time feel more cheery and bright."

Cynthia smiles "I have missed all that. Maybe some stories by the fireplace be nice and I know this stuffed apple treat we can make, its real good for cold weather"

Caleb chuckles "Maybe Friar Lacota will let me help with the winter feast, I helped a little with a feast once"

Krisha says, "Stories by the fireplace sounds nice and could be like stories of life or what one is thankful for in life. It's always nice to learn about others past sometimes. One can learn things listening to others stories of adventures or just stories of things from few seasons ago, maybe how one got to the abbey if they were not born here"

Cynthia says, "I wasn't born here but did live here most of my life, I was orphaned and Friar Lacota adopted me"

Caleb says, "I was born in the abbey"

Krisha smiles as she listens to them, "That had to be nice... I don't know where I was born, father never really said just...a creek close to where his village use to be, somewhere south.way south"

Cynthia says, "Well guess everyone has a story to tell maybe of their past. South I heard is both good and bad"

Caleb says, "Any land can be good or bad, depends on how ya look at it or where you live or grew up"

Dora Rose comes in from outside wearing her black tunic and leggings outfit, with her mottled cloak and knitted scarf, mittens, and hat on over it. She closes the front door behind her and crosses over to where the others are seated. Sitting near her son and daughter-in-law, she waves. "Wall duty is the worst in cold weather," she informs them, her voice muffled due to her scarf being wrapped across her face.

Krisha nods"At least no more icy rain, now its just snow. But not many are going out... I still don't know how the shrews are and when I was in Ferrule couple days ago, they seemed to be doing ok there"

Cynthia gives a small wave, its nice and warm inside." I don't think may travel in colder weather"

Caleb chuckles "Beasts with very warm cloak, isn't there a spice merchant that travels in winter?"

Gorvenalus enters the room and nods a hello to the gathered beasts "Hello friends I hope all is well"

DoraRose is still all bundled up, although she does now pull down her scarf so her face is exposed. "Doing wall duty in freezing rain is about the opposite of what I wanted to do. Any beast who traveled in that is crazy!" She gets a little cranky when her paws are cold. She waves to the beaver as he enters. "I'll be better once I'm done warming up. The older I get, the less I like winter. Makes my bones feel like their metal or something, all stiff and sore and chilled."

Krisha answers "Fairly...well." She says quietly, she replies "And I don't plan any traveling, and I checked on Xander he is fine and likely gonna stay in Ferravale for a while"

Cynthia nods quietly"I wonder if Ferravale has any events in winter like ice skating or anything, they like have a pond too I think, right?"

Caleb says, "Cold icy rain isn't fun...snow is ok and fun... I remember snowball fights and making snow beast and like a fort once"

Gorvenalus listens and clears his throat "Few like cold weather my friends and yes some fun can be had in winter, if one remembers to stay safe while having fun and not be out too long"

DoraRose huddles deeper into her cloak. "We should have a snowball fight," She states as she smiles at her son. "It could be fun. Have it on the grass to reduce the chances of anyone slipping. What do you think, Krisha? We could maybe make a whole event of it with the Dibbuns and any adults and older kids who'd like to participate. I know LilyMoore would love it."

Krisha smiles a little and nods "It could be fun. Like dibbuns vs the grownups one day here soon. It has been a little...well down lately so maybe something fun can cheer beasts up"

Cynthia says, "I think there will be plenty of snow and this snow is clearly sticking around. Maybe like winners can, hmm ms...don't know.win something"

Caleb asks, "when what?" He has decided this would be exciting"Fun is always good to have when ever one can. I mean we have all set up for winter now and no more major like....plans right?"

Gorvenalus says, "There are no plans that I know of anyways and yes all ready for winter time now, and we even got extra firewood. Maybe have hot cider ready at all times, or hot tea is good too and some mini cakes of some sort."

DoraRose starts unwrapping her scarfs and pulling off her mittens, finally getting warm. "Maybe whoever wins gets to be co-Abbot for a day. Or they get a full day off from school or chores or whatever."

Krisha says, "I would have to ask Abbot Benar. He is still recovering and...i am still doing some of his duties, but he can do like paper work now and have meetings at least so, that helps. Also fully doing Badger mother duties. Maybe Benar will watch though. I can ask."

Cynthia says, "Yeah he needs to come outside his room, even if just for short time frames"

Caleb says, "sounds like Mother Krisha needs a couple days break maybe"

Gorvenalus chuckles "I believe she did take at least a day off."Though he may talk her into another day off here soon"

DoraRose nods. "I'll let you and the Healers get him out. I can help organize the teams. I kinda wanna hit people with snowballs, to be honest." She has finished taking off her cloak and knitted things, and now she's fiddling with her knitted sweater, trying to settle it on her shoulders.

Krisha manages a small chuckle and nods"Could be fun maybe here in a week or so." She sighs "Wish Xander could be here, but he is gonna stay in Ferravale for...well not sure how long"

Cynthia is curious and asks "Why is Xander in Ferravale for?"

Caleb listens and smiles "Snow ball fight be fun, been a while since had one. Could build like small snow walls to sit behind"

Gorvenalus says, "Maybe he can come visit, but we leave that up to Xander. I am sure he is fine though"

DoraRose glances at her son, then at the badger. "Xander accidentally almost killed the Abbot as a mistake. I'm hoping to talk to him soon. Maybe I'll go to Ferravale here in a few weeks.....visit Blisa, too...."

Krisha nods "Ok...he is probably at the tavern, he has an office in the upstairs, or he is at this hut there somewhere."

Cynthia asks, "Ferravale is like a little under half a day away, isn't it?"

Caleb nods "And yeah, but he like told beasts he was sorry, does he not like the abbey anymore? Is he not allowed to be here or something?"

Gorvenalus nods "A trip to Ferravale might be good, get any needed updates we don't already have, see how beasts are. Always good to keep in touch with all allies and to answer a question Xander is allowed in the abbey, it was his choice to not come back for now"

DoraRose shrugs. "That's what I plan to find out when I talk to him, son. I think he's allowed to be here....but maybe Benar doesn't want to see him. I'll have to find out. As well as finding out how Ferravale is doing right now, especially with the ice storm." Turning to her daughter-in-law, the Gatekeeper adds, "Well, yes, in good weather. With the road so icy and slick, I may need to take camping supplies, just to be on the safe side. I dislike traveling at night, always have. Call it my Warrior instincts overreacting."

Krisha frowns as she goes to put some plates and a mug she has away." I'm....gonna go get some...tea or scones...be right back"

Cynthia says, "Night can be spooky, in the woods for sure Ike when the one lizard was around...then the woods always look creepy at night and more so in winter...tree skeletons....just creepy"

Caleb nods "I like Xander, he is nice or least I think he is nice and what he did was an accident"

Gorvenalus watches Krisha head to the kitchens and nods, he looks back to the others "I am sure things will work out"

DoraRose nods. "Aye, I believe Xander is good and kind, a true Warrior. He just needs someone to talk to, may hap. Someone who will listen." She smiles at Cynthia. "Aye, even when there is no danger, the woodlands are spooky. I never sleep as well out in the woods as I do here in Red wall or over in Ferravale."

Krisha makes her way back into the room and sits down a kettle of tea and has some berry scones, "Here." She says softly "And the roads are not too bad.well ambush wise.weather is not best for some beasts"

Cynthia says, "Weather is gonna be cold and annoying most likely, snow is sometimes like nice to walk in and sometimes not"

Gorvenalus says, "One just needs to be...careful in winter weather but things can still happen"

DoraRose smiles and gets some tea and a scone, thanking the badger. After settling back down in her seat, the Gatekeeper waves her paw airily. "Oh, it'll be fine. I know what I'm doing. I can even help escort some other beasts to Ferravale if they're wanting to go, too."

Krisha says, "I will stay here, got things to do here and spend enough time away so need to catch up...but maybe will give you a message for Xander"

Cynthia says, "Ferravale is ok, wouldn't walk around too much at night, in the day time it's ok. I think. I was there like once"

Gorvenalus nods "I have been there more than once to check on friends or to just get updates on how the village is doing"

DoraRose nods to the badger. "I will make sure to deliver it to him first thing. Well, after I say hi to Blisa. Should always speak to the Chieftain first." She sits up a little straighter. "Meh. Most of the less friendly vermin leave me alone. They usually only bother me when they're drunk, and it's pretty easy to defeat them then." She pauses. Oh, yeah, her daughter-in-law isn't a Warrior. Oops. "But yeah, if a beast isn't a Warrior, it would be best to walk in a group at night. Or stay inside and go to bed early. That's always a nice thing to do," she adds wistfully. She hasn't done that in a while...

Krisha says, "Yes always travel with another beast, never go anywhere loan outside the abbey. There is an inn by the tavern, maybe stay there if needed and yeah don't know many in Ferravale that's....ok to be around.there is Blisa, maybe Patch but I don't totally trust him really and Xander is there for now, he owns the tavern and the Defender base in by the tavern"

Cynthia says, "Moss flower Defenders, yeah... I meet some of them before, they have like an archer hare now"

Gorvenalus chuckles "Patch is, an interesting beast...which brings up something mentioned, an ale he was to bring down to the abbey maybe, and he was needing some October Ale, but we likely should leave the up to Bear." He hmms "Does Ferravale have someone who brews ale and such?"

DoraRose listens quietly. She had been and still is planning on traveling to Ferravale alone, unless someone else leaves the Abbey at the same time as her, heading north. But she's not going to mention that. It would make everyone be worried. "Patch is a jerk and a dork. Helpful, yes, but one of these days I'm gonna have to sock 'im one in the face or something." It's obvious he's ticked her off a few times. "I honestly have no idea, Gorvenalus. I can find out when I'm in Ferravale, if you'd like."

Krisha shrugs,"I....don't know I was only there a couple days...that's all. Xander walked me back here and then headed back to Ferravale

Cynthia asks, "Patch?" Ok clearly she has yet to meet him if sounds like "Who is he?"

Gorvenalus says, "A rat who works at the tavern" He leaves it at that and nods "Up to you. I think a couple beasts just make ale and such there, I am unsure as I said I check on Ferrule sometimes and if its important I update the abbey log book"

DoraRose nods and sips her tea. "I think I'll check. Wouldn't hurt to know." Sighing, she adds, "Patch is an aggravating rat who is friends with Xander. He works in the tavern, and I think will do spy things for Blisa when she threatens him. Don't leave any valuables out where he can see them."

Krisha says, "I dislike him and." She frowns "Think he made ...father mad one time too.anyways"Change subject" Other than Patch and maybe some vermin here and there Ferravale isn't a bad place, and they have a peace treaty with the abbey"

Cynthia says, "That would be bad, a like monitor being grumpy"

Gorvenalus says, "Well no one should be grumpy... I need to do some things my friends so do excuse me"He heads off."

Krisha shrugs "Beasts can be grumpy at times...every beast can have stressful times, though being too grumpy isn't good and yeah don't anger a monitor for sure, there is a couple others beast to not anger either as...well be bad idea, like a wolverine or sometimes a badger at times"

DoraRose scowls into her tea. "Patch makes me grumpy," she mumbles. Glancing at her daughter-in-law, she smiles. "Ferravale's actually a really nice place. Maybe when the weather's warmer, I can take all of you there as a family. Make an event of it."

Cynthia smiles "That be nice.me, Caleb, Cota, nanna and you and maybe your brother also"

Krisha nods "Ferravale is ok. I almost ed lived there when I first came to Moss flower with father...but ended up here, and I am glad for that"

DoraRose smiles. "That sounds lovely, Cynthia. Lily will be thrilled, and I'm sure we can convince Nana. Maybe we could get Lacota to come along, too." Turning to the badger, she adds, "I'm glad you're living here, too."

"Get me to come along for what?" Speak of the Devil, there he is. "You know the weather's turned entirely too cold this past week. It was below freezing last night..."

Krisha frowns "The weather is...bad. That's true." She nods a hello to the Friar"It's snowing right now too, but snow is better than icy rain"

Cynthia smiles "Hello Father, we were just talking about a trip to Ferravale, when its warmer of course so could be a , well a while."

DoraRose nods. "Snow is WAY better than icy rain when one is on wall duty, lemme tell ya..." She smiles at the Friar. "When the weather gets warm, you're coming with my family to Ferravale for a little trip as a family. It's decided. You're welcome." She may or may not be doing it this way just to see how the squirrel will react.

Lacota moves over to Cynthia's side, though he looks at Dora Rose with mild distrust. "Family trip to Ferravale, eh? This'll be come spring, I take it. Well, of course I'd go for Cynthia." He gives her shoulder a gentle pat. "Though I have to wonder how long this has been decided..."

Krisha manages a small smile, a small chuckle even." I.don't think long your have to ask them, but I agree Spring be best, least for that anything else can be sooner maybe."

Cynthia smiles"It is with Dorarose and caleb, cota and angela, Emyuil tooo and oh course your father. And a couple day break might be nice"

DoraRose raises an eyebrow at her daughter-in-law. "You're forgetting your sister-in-law, hon." Smiling, she looks up at the squirrel. "Oh, for simply AGES. Didn't you know?" She's obviously joking, trying to be annoying. It's probably working.

Lacota harrumps. It is working, though he's reigning himself in, mostly. "Yes, well... Nobeast told me. As for a couple of days, my dear... I'll have to leave strict instructions before we go, namely that Sister Violet not be allowed within ten feet of the kitchen."

Krisha listens "Family is important and spending time with them is as well"She smiles a little in thought, hen sighs a little"Just wish Xander would have stayed at the abbey, but its fine.he is in Ferravale so least I know where he is and I can go see him when I can"

Cynthia glaces at the badger Mother"Maybe Xander can.visit you. Maybe more beasts can like talk to him" She looks back to her father"Just a couple days. Just have someone you trust to keep an eye on things"

DoraRose grins and sips her tea. She managed to provoke him! Yay! "Oh, aye, we'll wait until Spring. I need to make a trip to Ferravale here soon, partly to talk to Xander, but I'm not going to have a fun family outing in this weather. Lily Moore's whining alone would make that my worst idea of the season."

Lacota nods his head, though he eyes Dora Rose. "Ah, Cynthia, don't worry. Novice Brad has been showing himself to be more responsible this past season, so we'll see how well he can manage while I'm gone. Consider it his final test before he graduates to a full Order Beast..."

Krisha says, "Just be careful on the road, both times.anytime." She says softly"Ferravale can be rough the short amount of time I visited...as said if things had turned out different may of ended up living there, maybe helping in the Blacksmith shop"

Cynthia smiles and nods." It will be fun for all.a couple day outing. And dont worry Fillmore as well." Of course, she wants her to come, she ment to say the name and had thought she did but saying now just reassures her it was said. She looks at the badger "You know how to do Blacksmith stuff?"

Dora Rose smiles. "At LEAST a couple days." She glances at the badger. "Our Badger Mother is a multi-talented creature." Noticing the Friar looking at her, she innocently adds, "What?"

Lacota harrumps. "Nothing," he replies gruffly, turning his attention back to his daughter. "*You* just be most careful of all, okay, Cynthia? Promise your grumpy dad that you won't ever be careless, especially not in Ferravale... That's where Krystal was headed when..." He looks away, doesn't finish his sentence.

Krisha smiles "My father was a Blacksmith, he taught me a little... I can fix a forge and do some forge work, not anything too major though. He also taught me to defend myself if I ever need to"So yes she can fight she just avoids it as fighting is and always will be a last resort.

Cynthia nods, she frowns when Krystal is mentioned, she remembered being there when a beast carried her inside the abbey. She nods "I am always careful dad.sides I can run really fast if I ever need to." She goes to hug him if he allows it." I have no plans to go outside the abbey anytime soon, no reason to"

Dora Rose lets the father/daughter thing happen in peace, and instead turns to the badger. "All good skills to have in the Abbey and in our Badger Mother. The Dibbuns will be more than safe with you around."

Krisha smiles, she is feeling better than she was "Guess that's why. Oz knew I would be a good Badger mother, I. I don't know. I do know Oz could like use a staff, didn't get a chance to see how good he was with it, but he didn't know how to use blades, said he never wanted to learn, he hated blades but others in his family knew how to use them just not him. But he still protected the dibbuns when he needed to, lucky it was a very rare thing to which I am glad. Course know basic stuff too.sew, cook some, teacher skills for math and reading and lessons on the abbey charter and other things like abbey rules and history"

Lacota absolutely allows the hug. He squeezes Cynthia. "Just... You're all I've got in the world, you know? You, and Caleb, and your dibbuns. Otherwise, I'm just a lonely old squirrel..."

Cynthia nods "Well.dibbun, Cota"

Dora Rose smiles grimly. "Oz fighting was something to behold, I'll tell you that. I always tell beasts to never anger a badger, no matter how peaceable they may be." She finishes her tea, stands, and stretches. After rearranging her sweater, she grabs her cloak, hat, scarf, and mittens, and starts wrapping herself up again.

Lacota frowns after a moment. "Err, yes, Cota. Fine boy he is, too..." He looks over as DoraRose begins to depart.

Krisha nods, she frowns a little as she thinks on some things "I should go check on the dibuns, so excuse me"She slips off quietly

Cynthia nods "Its ok.... I am unsure where Cota is, he is in the abbey somewhere likely trying to figure out if he wants to be a novice or something else"

Dora Rose has finished wrapping up and tugs her cloak close. "Cota is a good lad," she agrees. "I'll see y'all later. Need to go check on Nana and Lily, then hopefully head to bed." She goes to give them both a hug (Lacota's is more of a sneak attack hug, though, since she's assuming he'll flee or something), and then back out into the cold she goes....

Krisha meanwhile gets a story done for the dibbuns, and after they are in bed sleeping she herself gets to bed, she needs some rest.

Krisha makes her way down the steps and finds a place to sit, she hasn't really left the office since she been here and not ate since she left the abbey. A couple beast do move aside, most stay put though and glace over at her.

Mack waves "Ello thar Mother Krisha, how is your day? I didn't know you were in Ferravale, a break from work?"

Krisha frowns and speaks "Not...for a good reason"She sounds sad and shakes her head at an offered meal or drink.

Patch is at the main bar "Whoa, she came downstairs.she been up there since day before yesterday and hasn't ate or drank much neither"

Mack asks, "Why is that?" He smiles at the Badger Mother and gets some soup, a roll and some ale "Honey mint ale. I made it, and the food...here" He sits it in front of her and if she allows sits beside her "So why the sad face, Mr. Rude over thar?"

Krisha gives a faint smile, ok fine she will eat a little. "No, not.him, he is actually behaving himself." She sighs "Father is...is gone"
Patch frowns a bit and goes to pick up mugs and plates to be washed, he already heard the news.

Mack tilts his head, curious "Gone? Well I know he is at the abbey, likely stuck and moody is my guess cause of the sudden colder weather right?"

Krisha is quiet, she sips the ale and nods "The honey mint ale is, its good"Yes change the subject is good right now, "You made it Mack?"

Patch just finishes up and sits down behind the bar "Maybe ya can keep some of de ale you made here, new ale is always good ta try ya know Mack, and maybe the abbey could try it as well, which reminds me need ta ask about October Ale like soon"

Mack nods, he is still curious of Ferro but decides to not worry on it now as he smiles "I am glad you like the ale lass.tis light and not so kick worthy like others, and has a slight sweetness to it. A good light ale. I also have a cherry one I made. No real place to put me ale since my tavern is gone.well besides here and maybe the abbey, but I am willing to share, maybe even make more ale for friends"

Krisha smiles a little again "I could check with the abbot about some new ale. Maybe something for the winter Feast when it's time"

Patch asks "They have a winter feast though? They sort of canceled the Autumn one ya know"

Mack rolls his eyes "Don't be so rude rat, be nice and maybe they will let ya come to the next feast. And they had reasons to not have an autumn feast so behave"

Krisha speaks "They are having the Autumn feast don't worry Patch, Abbot Bear should be better enough by then to have it and anyone, well-behaved and of good heart from Ferravale is welcome to come."

Patch nods "Well, good then. I may or may not attend the feast but can like spread the word when I find out when it is"

Mack chuckles "I bet Ferro will love a feast, or has he been to one before lass?" He smiles "I may have ta visit with the lizard, he is one interesting beast that's fer sure"

Krisha eyes fill with tears now, well least she ate before she gets up and starts to head to the office upstairs "He's.he.... I'm going upstairs..." Tears fall and she disappears upstairs and closes the door.

Patch sighs "Ferro...died couple days ago. I don't know all de details, but he's...dead, there is like gonna be a private funeral and all later.here in de...graveyard in the village. Just follow the path past de pond if your like.going or whatever" He stands "I have tables to wait on, dishes to collect and wash so chat later"

Mack eyes widen, he frowns and right away heads upstairs letting the rat tend to what is needed. He knocks on the office door, "Lass?" He waits on a reply as it's possible it's the wrong door.

Krisha doesn't answer the door right away, then finally "It's unlocked just come in." She is sitting on the cot in here, paws folded in her lap.

Mack opens the door and peeks inside, then makes his way the rest of the way inside "Oh lass.... I didn't know." He is not sure to say, sorry isn't always good and asking how one is usually bad as well. "If ya need anything, I am here. I didn't know Ferry that long but I came to think of him as a friend"

Krisha looks over and rubs her eyes " Am. Am I gonna lose Xander soon too? The past couple seasons I lost Oz...Lost my daughter.and now Father, is Xander next?"

Mack frowns, he just sits by her "I would hope not lass, lets not dwell on that ok, try to not worry. Sides Xander is tough, I mean he survived hornets and a flash flood, and he fought that Anwir beast, and he was ill at the time too, he will be fine lass." He looks at the room "So.an office, interesting place."

Krisha nods "Xander's office, he does own the tavern, not that he uses the office much" She sighs a little "I head back to the abbey tomorrow morning."

Mack says, "I will tag along lass, sides company is good to have.My guess Xander is still gonna stay in Ferravale for the time being?"

Krisha nods "I will also have Matilda for company on the way back. There will be a short, private.funeral for.father, then me and Matilda stay the night and get back to the abbey by tomorrow afternoon or least before dinner time"

Mack nods "Can.... I come?" He waits and adds "If not that is ok lass, wouldnt want to interrupt "

Krisha nods"You can come and also to the abbey, all is invited to the abbey long as they are friends or good-hearted."

Mack smiles "Glad I am seen as a friend and as a friend I am here for you, you and Xander both lass."

Krisha says, "Thank you, Mack" She replies as she yawns, tried "I am gonna get some rest...see you after dinner, ok?"

Mack nods "Of course lass, sleep well"And he exits the room and shuts the door, he decides to make it his job to make sure no one disturbe her, and they let her get some sleep.

Later on they had a simple funeral for Ferry. The only ones there.Xander, Krisha, and Mack and a couple stray beasts that knew Ferry well, others would come after the family had some private time and a few words before they then slipped off to let others say any goodbyes. The small group of beasts would rest for the night and get to the abbey in the morning.

In the morning at the gates of Red wall Xander dropped off Mack, Matilda and Krisha and then headed back to Ferravale once he knew the group was safe and sound inside.

Krisha took the rest of the afternoon and evening off, she got back to Badger mother duties the next morning. She would still be sad at times for a few days, but she knew she had her friends by her side to get though it.

Krisha sits quietly by the fireplace. She got through today with the dibbuns, with the duties she has to make sure the abbey runs fine since the Abbot is still recovering from his fall. She sips the warm tea, tea today it seems and it's supposed to be a calming tea, it's far from calming her.

Gorvenalus makes his towards the Badger Mother "How are you doing Krisha?"

Krisha sips her tea again and then looks to where the Recorder is, a shrug is her answer at first, then a frown before she replies,"How am. I? I get news I think is a sick joke at first and find out it's not, so not doing that great but have to hold things together still as I am one of the leaders here.

Gorvenalus frowns as he sits beside her "It was sudden news to hear, that is true." He is quite a while before he speaks again, " I hate to ask but it must be asked where would Ferro be laid to rest?"

Krisha feels the tears now and takes a deep breath "Ferravale, they.they have a graveyard. It can be a small quiet ceremony. I can also check on Xander while I. I am there..." She takes a couple calming breaths, why.why did this have to happen now?"

Gorvenalus pats her on the arm and offers a small smile "I can come along as well. I am sure things at the abbey will be ok for a couple days.You do have beasts to watch the dibbuns, and they should not care if its but a couple days or so. I know Abbot Benar can do paperwork now and is seeing visitors in his room now, though visitors are being kept to a low amount still. Matilda can do some things for a couple days as well"

"Or stay here Brother Gorvenalus. You do still have some recorder logs to catch up on after all. I can escort Mother Krisha to Ferravale"
Matilda comes into view now as she enters the room. She nods to Krisha and speaks "And 2-3 days off will be good for your Mother Krisha. Stress is not something we want you to have or to become overworked"

Krisha nods "I. I wouldn't let myself get overworked but yeah I am pretty stressed. I mean Badger Mother duties, some Abbot duties.always trying to solve this problem or that problem and then my father..." She frowns, tears now.

Gorvenalus nods to the Champion "I can stay here and you are correct I do have journal entries to get into the abbey recorder logs. It will not take too long as I tend to keep notes and usually write in the logs once a week as not too much has happened but yes, I will update it up to today, so it's recent"

The Champion nods "Good and Brother Gorvenalus can preform some of the Abbot's duties a couple days as well."

Krisha nods "That sounds good. I should only be in Ferravale like 2-3 days. I will also see how Xander is, I hope he is ok with the weather the way it has been and when the storm first...hit"

Gorvenalus says, "I am sure he is fine, you would know by now if he is not and checking on him should help."

Matilda nods in agreement "He is correct and some stress will hopefully lift off your shoulders. The ice storm wasn't as bad as we thought it might end up. No damage to the abbey, no damage anywhere in the abbey lucky. I know some limbs fell in the woods and some old oak tree fell close to Ferravale, hmm ms may be good to check on Ferravale and see if they got any storm damage"

Krisha says, "Yes "She replies "And the Gousim also, if we can that is.Their camp is close to Ferravale, I don't know the way but Xander does. I know they were still building some things a few weeks ago but after that no other news was given"

Gorvenalus nods as he stands "I will let Abbot Benar know your be in Ferravale a couple days" He then excuses himself and heads to where the Abbot is.

==Ferravale gates a few hours Later==

Matilda picked a couple guards to come along as well.Just to be safe. Lucky some Camp Willow otters had come by to visit the abbey, the champion talked them into helping them get Ferro back to Ferravale and they agreed but afterwards they had to get back to Camp Willow.

Krisha had mostly been quiet on the trip up the road and now quietly stood of to the side.She glaces over at where Ferro was on a stretcher and managed to hold back tears.

Matilda was worried about the badger, normally the Champion was more nervous in Ferravale but she was slowly starting to be less nervous.BUT, it didn't mean she wasn't alert, she was fully alert to sounds and sights around her."Mother Krisha..orders?"

Krisha blinks out of her daze and clears her throat "The village guards can take over from here. A message can be quickly sent to Chieftain Blisa" She seems to have other things on her mind as she heads over to the tavern once inside the gates. Funeral arrangements for Ferro can be taken care of soon.She wanted to make sure someone else was ok, she could not face more heartbreak...not now.

Xander was indeed in the tavern.Sitting in a booth drinking an ale and looking over a list of supplies the tavern needed. He sighs "Patch why can't you go to the abbey and ask for October Ale, is it that hard of a task?"

Patch frowns "Yes...they don't fully like me ya know but sure...fine"He looks up in time to see company and tilts his head "Errrr...stripy, we have guests"

Matilda stood in the tavern, some beasts moved aside for her and the two abbey guards with her. She seen Xander and slowly made her way towards him.

Krisha was already in the tavern, already seen Xander and rushed to him.She would likely give him time to stand up but that was all before she was burying her face into his chest. And it was there, that finally the river of tears broke free and flooded down her face and the sobs escaped, the whole body shaking sobs one can't control and just have to let calm on their own.

Xander stood and almost fell right back down.He was confused at first then he saw who it was "Krisha?" He wraps his arms around her and tries to calm her."Krisha..wot..wot is going on,wot happen?" He looked at the Champion with an asking look, a concerned worried look.

Patch backed out of the way "What ever it is, I did nothing..I swear nothing!"

Matilda speaks "Ferro has....he's dead. The healers think it had something to do with him getting stuck in the cold weather for a couple hours.He had a cough and a small fever...but it"She frowned "Seemed to get worse so quickly, no one else got ill.I believe it had something to do with the fact he couldn't warm up very good..I..I don't know."

Krisha replies after what seemed like endless crying "Father responds to cold weather a lot differently that say me and you and..others with. well..fur."Her face is tear stained "I think he was a lot worse than he..told us, he said he just wanted to find a warm place for a nap and he would be fine, but he wasn't fine and he got worse.His body can't handle even a small amount of cold for too long and I have a feeling he was out longer than he said too, a...a lot longer. He didn't have anything others would get ill from. Its just a cold ...if me or you or someone else gets one we just complain and drink hot tea or some herbal mixture and are fine, a lot get a simple cold in colder seasons its hard to escape from and usually recover in a few days and are fine again. Lizards..are different, same for like toads,frogs , and snakes..they get what is a simple cold to us, its like..."She frowns "It can be..deadly...father died, he should of told me how bad he was feeling not just go off to some room and take a nap..a room that wasn't that warm, there was better rooms why didn't he just..just..."She looks ready to collapse"Say something......anything......"

Xander takes all this in "Ferro...died?He's..dead..? "He keeps a good grip on Krisha and scoops her into his arms and goes to head to his office upstairs,he can lay her on the bed and let her get some clearly needed rest"Patch, update Blisa now please..and Matilda if your not heading back to the abbey right away you can stay in the guest room upstairs here, no charge ok..I will have someone send word to the abbey you and Krisha got here safely."

Patch stands there and listens,he frowns "I..oh course find Chiefie..on that right now!" He rushes off.

Matilda sighs but nods her head as she sits for now, maybe a light ale will help her as she needs one right now.

Krisha feels herself be lifted into Xander's arms and then she lets herself pass out, well least she will get some needed rest.

Ewan had stayed in the infirmary the past like couple weeks and was able to finally walk, with crutches, around a little bit anyways.Not that it seemed he chosen the best day to venture out of the infirmary with crutches. One it was cold, two it was raining and though rain usually doesn't bother him...this rain does as it started out ok and then started getting sharp little bit of ice in it.

Krisha frowns at the weather, she was out in her thick cloak looking concerned.She turns when she sees Ewan and nods "You, should be careful Ewan"She frowns"This is not good weather and I have a feeling its gonna get worse...and father left couple hours ago"

Ewan looks around and sits down on the steps for now"That..could be bad, why did he go out?"

Krisha frowns "He was gonna go home and I have a feeling it might be a bad idea and I didn't know why...."She seems to think and frowns "I'm..gonna go look for him"

Ewan asks, "Is that good idea?"He asks quietly, he dislikes the weather now too "It could get worse,then wot?"

Krisha says, "I don't know but its not a good idea to leave him out there, unlike some ...this is really bad for him"

Ewan shrugs "I...that's true and I would go help but.."The crutches and the fact he still has some bandages on "Likely not the best idea"

Krisha says, "No...but he couldn't of gotten far and I think someone went with him...look if you get concerned send some beast after me..I am supposed to be making sure all abbey beasts and guests are safe, and with this weather more may need help too not just father and whom ever is out with him"She decides and adjusts her cloak and hood and walks out before he tries to talk her out of it.

A couple guards go to stop her and point to Dorarose who seems to be helping beasts inside and looks over at them briefly.

Krisha sighs "Tell her I am going to look for Father, I will be back..I promise...she can look for me if needed or one of you can tag along"

==Half an hour later==

Krisha looked along the road as the icy rain turned more icy and the wind picked up.Leaves blew all around her and a little snow even mixed into the weather, a storm was starting and getting worse by the moment.

Mack was up the road, to the side with Ferro. He looked concerned as they had decided to take shelter by a half fallen tree, a sort of lean too was made it seemed, not a good one but it was good for now.

Ferro shivered and tried to keep the thin cloak he had around him. He also had Mack's cloak on and was pressed more against the lean too."Thissssss issssss not good..I..I..c...can't ssssssstay in thisssss weather much longer.."

Mack just frowned, "But what do we....do?"

"A monitor lizard..wait your Ferro!" Came a voice and soon, the hare maid was seen, Zeldove "Hallo ya two..bally horrible weather wot"

Ferro nodded and shivered as he sat down"The..abbey issssss clossssse...I think" It was, sort of...a little under an hour walk as he and the hedgehog didnt get too far before the storm started and temperatures seemed to drop quickly with the icy snowy rain.

Krisha was nearby and frowned, about to give up..no she couldn't give up, then voices as she rushed towards them and seen "Father!!Mack!!"

Mack looked up and grinned "Your a sight fer sore eyes Mother Krisha..thank the seasons"

Ferro was shivering and looked at Krisha.."K..Krisha?"

Zeldove waved and then "It may be wise ta like get to the abbey now, for sure him..cold be bad with fur, let alone no fur"

Krisha takes off her thick cloak and wraps it around Ferro and goes to carry him so they can walk faster"Lets go..move it."

They get to the abbey in half an hour, maybe less as the badger can walk fast when needed.

==Back at the Abbey==

Krisha had went out without much of a plan but luckly whom she looked for wasn't too far off, and help was good when the hare maid showed up.The weather is fairly bad now..ice mixed with a little rain and some snow, and its colder by the hour. She has her cloak off and its on Ferro now as she helps him and a couple others back inside "Some beast tell Dorarose I am back....ok we need to get inside before this gets any worse"

Zeldove walks in and shakes her head "In is best lass, I am seriously for inside where tis warm and good food and hot tea or cider,wot"
Mack looks around as he makes sure Ferro doesn't fall over"Yeah..winter be like ELLO ..early I think"

Ferro shivers still under the thick cloak but it could of been a lot worse, all he wanted to do was get back to Ferrvale..he got maybe an house up the road when the storm decided to make him change his plans.

Ewan helped best he could on crutches.He looks glad the Badger Mother is back and with others,"Oh good you found Ferro..that is good..very good, its cold out ..I can like help get anyone inside the Great Hall"

Krisha nods"Inside would be good"She will also help make sure no one else is out here,others will need checked on and helped inside by the guards as most seem inside now or heading inside anyways.

Zeldove says, "Inside is better than outside right now"

Mack says, "I have seen worse further north...warmer south"He chuckles "Should of stayed south, oh well too late fer that"

Ferro speaks finally as he coughs a little "SSSSSSSSouth isn't that good...warm being only thing like of it"Once inside the great hall he will sit close to the fireplace, the cloak laid aside to dry.

Ewan uses the crutches to get inside and almost slips once, he looks around and frowns "We will have to get a message to Ferravale and maybe check on some others..once the storm stops that is"

Zeldove smiles as she finds a seat and grins "Warm and toasty in here, unlike outside and check on whom, who be out in that stuff...some moron?"

Krisha makes sure some hot tea and cider is given out and some soup also, she sits down finally"Yes when its over or calmed some we can send someone to check on Camp Willow..the Gousim, maybe get word from Ferravale. Hopefully anyone needing shelter will come to the abbey as think winter has decided to be a little early this yer" She looks at Ferro and sighs "And..father, your likely stuck at the abbey till spring looks like, and before you worry your be fine, we can let Blisa know and I am sure she will be ok with it, better than you trying to get to Ferrale in this weather and I don't think its suddenly gonna be warm a day or two, its gonna stay cold now"

Mack nods as he gets some tea and soup and relaxes "Think plain snow be better than this snow and ice mixture we have right now"

Ferro snorts "I Like my forge, itsssssssss better and warm at all timessssssssssssss"

Ewan speaks "The abbey is warm, maybe you can make like..small things here at the forge, like pans and pots..hinges and stuff..a couple windows might need new hinges or some shutters"

Krisha says, "A couple shutters do need a new hinge and Abbot Benar will be ok with you staying the winter, and that goes for any beast that needs to"

Zeldove asks, "Wot about a hare? I be allowed ta stay..I likely can help out somewhere..hmmms lets see..fairly good at sewing, could wash or dry dishes, help set a table.." She would say sample food but she leaves that off."Wot say?"

Mack chuckles "Least she only be one hare..."He leans back, a sip of tea. "I have yet to decide if get on to Ferrvale, just me...or stay here..did promise to help cook maybe. I also make fine ale if any beast is interested"

Ferro just pouts and is quiet and finally "Fine..long assssssssss Blisa knowsssssss I am here, I will sssssstay the winter"

Ewan just listens as he eats a little soup and sips his tea"The abbey is real nice during the winter season...I like it. Mid winter evening is always nice."

Krisha smiles as Ferro decides to stay "I can get you a room later tonight father, and one that will be warm too, and you can stay inside the main building, not everyone goes outside when its cold"

Zeldove asks, "So like a feast?I heard de autumn one isnt happening, winter one still is right?"

Mack chuckles "Least think so...thats what I heard and the winter one will be good seeing as no autumn one"

Ferro replys "I dont need much of a room, just a warm place to ssssssssssleep"

Ewan nods "Thar is some extra rooms, we do have guests stay the winter at times..off and on guests as well"

Krisha smiles "Winter here can be nice...the mid winter eve..sometimes the feast is planed that day and if its not there is always a nice tea and cookies, some small gifts handed out..snow badger visits..its nice"She looks over as Ferro falls asleep and smiles, she seems happy he is here for the winter.

Zeldove grins "Snow badger! I heard of him..gifts to all the good dibbuns and sometimes gifts to others at times..heard he likes sugar cookies and october ale..or maybe raspberry tea"She chuckles.

Mack says, "What..or who is the snow badger?"

Ewan tilts his head at the hedgehog"Never heard of de snow badger? hmmms ..maybe a story sometime."

Krisha smiles "I could tell the story or least one, if your willing to maybe help get some dibbuns to bed after dinner Mack. "

Zeldove says, "Stories are always nice, any story really...well not scary ones but others, yeah"

Mack smiles "Sure....sounds nice and I get along sort of well with the little ones"

Ewan leans back and yawns"Gonna...take a nap..need a nap and dibbuns like most beasts from what seen"

Krisha smiles as she stands "I best check on then dibbuns in face so see you after dinner then Mack "

Krisha had went to bed a little early, she had a headache as the day was fine, great in fact and then two dibbuns...little dibbuns...get into a fist fight over, well she wasn't even sure what over and one got a bloody nose and so they sat in time out after a trip to the infirm so she went to bed an hour early.

All was welll....

That is till a scream ! The scream of a dibbun, make that two dibbuns!

Krisha is right away sitting up in bed as her room is right beside the dibbuns room.A frown on her face as she stands and looks to the door leading to the dibbuns room.

Cynthia was up late herself.She couldnt sleep so she was going to walk around,maybe see about helping with brekfast in the morning.The scream was heard by her as well as she frowned.

The two dibbuns, a couple mice rush into the Badger Mother's room and go under the bed. Another dibbun, an otter jumps on the bed and hides under the thick blankets

Cota peeks in from the dibbuns room, "Mother Krisha..Mother Krisha you need to come in here...."He gasps as some sort of rustling sound is heard and quickly is latching onto the badger's leg shivering.

Krisha frowns and makes a be quiet motion and looks around, no staff and she wishes she had one....well there is broom she can get that and goes to open the door the rest of the way carefully.

Cynthia peeks into the Badger Mother's room from the hallway and frowns "Whats going on?" She asks quietly.

The two mice dibbuns are in tears, the otter is just shivering . "Thara..bad beast in thars....gonna gets us"

Inside the room, in the dark is rustling again and ......

Movement! A flash of grey and black, some brown as well along the wall,a box of toys are knocked down and sends a box of small bouncing balls across the room...and more screams as 20 small sets of feet rush to the badger mother's room to escape!

Cota eeeps and clings onto Cynthia "Mama...what is it? Its gonna get us"

Cynthia frowns "Nothing is going to get anyone.."She says quietly and bravely as she looks at the group of dibbuns and the door, ok the badger has the broom so now what?

Krisha jumps and aims the broom "Show yourself!" Its dark in the room as there is no light really as she tries to adjust to the dark and slowly move towards this possible vermin or what ever it is.

The dibbun are meanwhile hiding under the covers, the bed and one managed to get into a dresser drawer.

Cota frowns and looks to the door and then Cynthia "Do we stay here or leave?"

Cynthia shrugs "I..don't know just be quiet everyone...Mother Krisha will handle this"She hopes so anyways, if its something dangerous..well not like she can do much but maybe run to another room if needed with the dibbuns, only of needed and hope they would listen.

The strange creature moves again! It bumps into a wall and ..coughs as its a mess of grey,brown and all fluffy and looks like some strange ball of fluff with yellow glowing eyes!!!

Krisha grips the broom and gulps, a deep breath she lowers the broom and goes to grab the strange creture and hold it up.Hopefully its not gonna end badly.

The dibbun peek out of hiding and look to the mouse and then the doorway to the dibbuns room, one whimpers .

Cota just frowns "Maybe it gots Mother Krisha and we never gonna see her again"

Cynthia frowns "Cota..thats a horrible thing to say"

The strange creature tenses up and tries to get away, then sneezes and shakes off some of its..fur? Another sneeze and cough as it seems to lose more of its rather loose and..dusty fur.

Krisha blinks and hmms as she gets her apron and goes to see what this duty fur is.

The dibbuns frown, one starts to cry at Cot'as words.

Cota just frowns "Sorry.."But he is concerned"Its too..quiet in there"

Cynthia frowns "Everyone stay..put.."She edges to the door and peeks in.

The strange creature wiggles and more fur and dust come off...wait its lint and cobwebs, more dusty blogs and some feathers are shown and the creature shakes his head and puffs out...its a sparrow!

Krisha coughs now and sneezes as dust goes up her nose and blinks at the..sparrow?" Whatum doing in Redworm home?" She has practiced Sparra.

The sparrow coughs and looks at the badger"Getum stucks inna wallplace..findum way out..wander in dark finda room of small abbeyworms..went underbeds..bad evil underbeads!!"

The dibbun are still in the Badgermother's room...too worried to go back in.

Cota is unsure as well but gets brave and walks over to look inside "Mother Krisha you still aliive?"

Krisha speaks with the sparra "Howum getta in here?" She turns to the mouse Cota "Its ok..its a sparra"

A still slightly dusty one,"Muchdark..find stairsdidya....finda dark room..fall sleep then find alla bad gross underbeds."

Yes may want to do some dusting under the beds like tomorrow, what a fun chore.

Cynthia looks in and smiles "Oh a sparra"

The dibbuns come in slowly and seem happy its just a sparrow, one still seems afraid though.

Cota peeks around the badger and frowns"What happen to it?"

The sprrow looks to be maybe just barely under adult seasons so not a dibbun but getting out of those teen seasons as well.

Krisha sighs "It needs a bath."She hmmms and smiles at Cynthia.

Cynthia nods and gets a wash basin for the sparrow...

==Hour later===

"Can it stays in here!"

"We haz sleepover!!"

Krisha thinks and nods "Fine, the sparrow can stay as a guest tonight and have breakfast with us BUT only if all dibbuns go to sleep"

The dibbuns agree and soon are asleep, well luckly only a couple hours of sleep was lost...all due to what they thought was a ghost!
