I wasn't in this RP, but, boy, do I wish I had been....Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

I did not run this RP, nor was I even a part of it, but it seemed so (at least in part) classically Redwall, that I asked the guy's permission, acquired it, and made this log. Now, when you meet Mr. Scaley, let's all take a deep breath, think of Asmodeous, and scream like fangirls. Okay?Okay. Good.  :)

During a freak snow storm Lason, Wilks and Rorgan were traveling with a pole cat merchant. While their way to Ferreval a mouse came out of the woods. His brother had stumbled into a snakes nest and needed help to free him. When the party arrived they were ambushed by The Moss Flower Militia, a group of anti-vermin woodlanders who have been attacking bandits, vermin, and those with them. They were using the snake to dispose of bodies because it kept it in one place and...they cant kill it.

As the party desends deeper into the snakes nest and farther from the entrence the light gradually dissapears, as if even it is afraid to enter this foreboding place. The smell is truely awful, the stench of decay and death fills the air along with...something else. The only sound the party hears is a faint rustling that echoes down the narrow tunnel and the chattering of Wilks teeth as he barely holds on to what bravery he has left.

Lason smells the air, "Too many odors...can't tell which one is the snake."

Rorgan concentrates for several moments before he gives up and shakes his head. "Aye, I can't discern anything."

Wilks nervously bites his teeth and jumps at the slightest sound, "Be calm Wilks, be calm, Its just a snake....nothing to extraordinary about a snake...surely we can..." he trips over a rock into a pile of something that clatters. "Eep!" he yelps as he slowly realizes he has landed in a trio of beastly skeleton remains.

Rorgan stops and kneels next to Wilks, offering a paw to help him up. "Are you ok Wilks?" he asks with genuine concern.

Wilks takes the paw and lets himself up. He yelps loudly in frustration and frieght, "Ok? No! How can I be ok! We just got jumped by crazy mice and now we are treking through a snake den. How can I be ok!" His voice echoes down the cave system and in return something echoes back. The sound of movement, rustling in the dark and then a voice, cracked and harsh with age, "Wooooood lannndeerrssssssss...."

Lason gives Wilks a dirty look, "Prepare to fight or run. We need to get him good and mad for my plan."

Rorgan's eyes widen as he hears the voice. "Great....Well I think I've got the angry thing covered." He says as he pulls his bow out, nocking an arrow on the string. "Assumin' he doesn't like arrows."

The acustics of the cave ampliphies the whispery voice so it appears to come from everywhwere, "Threeee wooood laaaandersssss-s-s. The mice haaaaave been busyssssssssss..." the voice has no emotion, at least any a non snake can discern, "Welcome to my denssssssss-s-s .

Lason nods at Rorgan, "I would assume he would not." .

Rorgan nods grimly and pulls the string back to full draw. "Lason, since you can see better, I need you t' tell me when you see 'im." he says quietly. .

Wilks gulps before speaking, "Should...should we move into the den...or...or let the snake come to us...?" The sound of movement is drawing near, with it the whispery voice grows louder, "The mice diiid thisssssss to you yessssss, doooomed you to my lair? They huuuunted me once, yesssssss. They hunted with spears, with arrows, with fire....they trieeeeeed poisssonsss, they tried to keep me here and sssssstarve me....they could not KILLL me....so now they keeep me sated with fresh vermin...." the sound of movement is very close now.

Lason brightens, "How would you like some revenge on those mice? If you don't agree, you will find we aren't an easy meal." He's hoping to bring it closer, at least.

Rorgan growls and brings the string back a little further, staring into the darkness in an attmept to see something himself. "Come on out snake.." he mutters to himself.

"Don't be ssssoooo ssssure of your sssself..." The voice says from behind the party. Something wraps arround Wilks leg and drags the fox off screaming into the darkness. The sound of movement echoes across the cave. .

Lason gasps slightly and says, "I tried to be reasonable. Rorgan, fire!" .

Rorgan lets out the breath he had been holding and, within the space of a few seconds, he goes into a machine-like loop of loosing his arrow and nocking another, sending 3 arrows shooting into the darkness even as he nocks another arrow. He makes sure to aim a bit high as he shoots so as not to hit Wilks. .

The sound of arrows hitting their mark into flesh can be heard until the snake takes a corridor to the right, that is when the distinct sound of arrows clattering against dirt and stone can be heard. The snake however doesnt seem fazed in the least, at least non that you can see in total darkness, and moves surprisingly silent through its own tunnels, Wilks does not. His screams for help can be easily followed down a few corridors and to the right. .

Lason bolts after them, "My plan has gone awry, it seems. After him, let me do the spotting, I can hear his scales on the dirt."

Rorgan growls and sheaths his bow, running after Lason while drawing his wicked sharp dagger. "I don't think it's neccessary t' listen for that!" He yells as he runs. "Wilks is loud enough!" .

Eventually the party comes to a larger chamber. The room is circular with a small hole on top to let in enough light to see. Water has accumulated in the far end into a large pool. Of course it is hard to see through the snake. It is hard to tell exactly what type it is. It is though large with dark spots along its scaled back, broken speear heads, bent blades, and old arrows stick out of the beasts body. Wilks lays coiled in its grasp staring up at twin fangs several inches away from biting into his hide. The snake closes its maw and turns to the parties approach with two blind eyes. "I wassss wondering when you would arivesssss-s-s..." .

Lason notes with wonder, "You cannot see...interesting." He orders, "Try to get him to let go of Wilks." .

Rorgan rushes forward without a second thought, gripping his dagger tightly. Jumping, he shoves the dagger blade into the snake's body, which, granted, wasn't very far considering the length of the dagger. This leaves him hanging on the snake's side, holding onto his dagger with one paw and scrabbling for a grip with his other on the snake's scales. .

Lason sights and takes out his new crossbow, "Why must I do everything myself? " He takes aim at the snake's head and fires. .

The snake recoils in pain, both from the dagger in its side and the arrows to its face. His head hits the top of the chamber sending cracks along the ceiling. Wilks manages to wrestle himself free and rolls into a patch of decayed remains of the snakes victims. In fact the floor is littered with them. .

Rorgan grunts as he pulls at his dagger, muscles straining, but unfortunately for him, he had stuck the dagger too far in, and the serrated edges were catching, making it very difficult for him to pull the dagger out. However, being as stubborn as he was, he stayed on the snake as it writhed around, maintaining a death grip on the handle of his dagger so as not to be thrown off.

Lason puts his crossbow away, holds his metal post in both hands and rushes the snakes's stomach, figuring it was too distracted to bite him. He knew he had to hit a vital spot, and he knew where it would be. He shoulder-checks the serpent in the stomach for his first move.

The snake is not having a good day. Distracted by the pain of the otter climbing up its back the snake makes an oof as the wild cat plows into its middle and starts wacking at it with a metal club. It tries to shake the otter off by ramming its back into the wall before biting at where it beleives the cat to be. All the while the cracks in the cieling begin to spread...

Rorgan barely swings himself to the right with all of his momentum, pulling the dagger in a bloody ragged line across the surface of the snake's body, letting blood begin to drip down its body. With the added space, he is able to yank his dagger free and, in a blind rage, he puts the dagger handle in his teeth and begins to climb the snake, gripping stray weapons that had been stuck in the snake for many seasons to assist him.

Lason sees the ceiling and notes to the other two as he puts his post away and climbs also, using his claws to keep his grip, calling out, "Watch the ceiling."

Wilks coughs as he struggles to stand. The snake was crushing him pretty good for a moment. He looks up and his ears go flat. As the snake wriggles and thrashes to get the troublesome beasts off it has failed to notice that the ceiling is about to collapse. Rocks and dirt begin to fall from the air. The violently rolls across the ground, which is strewn with the skeletal remains of those beasts that were too armored or too big for the snake too eat. .

Lason calls to Rorgan, "Get down from there, the ceiling!" He disobeys himself and gets on top of the snakes's head, digging in with his footclaws and taking out his metal post, "...only one shot at this." .

Rorgan looks up to notice the wildcat before the snake, in a desperate effort, smashes its neck and head against the ceiling. Thankfully, Rorgan's armor saves him from being crushed, but as soon as the snake's head lowers from the ceiling, he slowly begins to slip off of the snake, unconcious. His dagger drops from his jaw and falls to the ground below as he quickly starts to slip off the side due to the snake's flailing.

Wilks watches the otter fall. He rushes over to the otter as rocks and debris fall from the ceiling, sending watter splashing and bones of forgotenn beasts breaking. The snake is getting vicious now as rocks fall on the snake as well. .

Lason is hit by several small rocks but doesn't fall. Cursing in several languages, he slams his iron pole down on on the snake's head with all his might. .

The snake hisses. His eyes go wide and it staggers before finely collapsing to the ground next to wilks and rorgan. The cave completely collapses now. Burrying the the three in dirt and debris. A long moment of silence passes as Wilks looks up and is surprised to find himself in a brightly lit crater with rocks leading up to a steep climb back to the surface. The snake appears to be burried under the rubble but the three beasts appear to have been fortunet to escape such a fate. .

Rorgan lays on the ground next to Wilks, eyes closed. Upon examination, one would find that his armor is cracked in several different places. His bow and quiver seem to be cracked also but still intact. His dagger appears to be the only thing that escaped damage. .

Lason lies on the floor, knocked out cold by a falling rock hitting him on the head combined with his long fall. Anybeast looking at him would worry about his ability to awaken.

Wilks looks between the two unconcious beasts. He sighs, "My heroes..." His ears twitch at the sound of foot paws approaching. The mice guarding the enterence appear over the ridge of the crater in the ground. Twelve mousy eyes stare down at Wilks in shock and dissbelief. The fox gulps, crud. He realizes he is now alone here to fend off a dozen mice...with no fighting skills. Wait...they dont have to know that do they? Grabbing the otters knife he holds it menacingly. "That's right! I killed the big bad snake. So who is next!"

Behind the fox something stirs under the rubble. The snake slowly picks itself out of the rubble. Wilks turns around and cringes and the mice gasp in horror, "The snake is free! Ageless is free!" The snake sniffs at the air before turning towards the sound of the voice. It lunges at the mice with all ferocity and viciousness. The fox for his part is not too relieved. Grabbing both the otter and the wild cat he begins to pull them to up the slope of the crate, "Dang it! And people call me heavy!"

Rorgan groans and tries to roll on his side, his eyes snapping open when he cannot. He looks around blearily, barely registering the distant sound of screaming. He looks up at Wilks almost as though he doesn't even see the fox. "W-Wot happened...?" he asks slowly. .

Wilks is almost on the edge of panic...the other edge of panic like one is one the other side of a cliff after walking off one, "Get up and help me carry Lason!" He screams. A mouse goes flying into the ground next to them, two great big holes in his chest where the snake bit him before throwing him away. A mouse in the distance shouts, "Stand firm! The Militia backs down from no onnaahaaaaaaaahhhahahha grk!" and is promtly eaten.

Rorgan's eyes widen as the mouse lands next to him, and he scrambles to his feet, grabbing Lason's feet and lifting his lower body off the ground while looking around. "Come on Wilks! Grab his shoulders and run!!" .

Wilks doesn't have to be told twice. In a short while the pair manage to carry Lason up the steep incline and into the snow covered woods. The fox looks back in time to see the militia scatter and run from the snake. Agless turns its massive head around and stares at Wilks with blind eyes before slowly slithering away into the woods, occasionally a terrified scream would peirce the air as a mouse met an unpleasent fate.

Mwahahahahaha! Man, I wish I had gotten on in time to join that RP! Thanks for reading! I do not own this RP. Wilks, Rorgan and Lason are the ones who own it. I just got permission to log it for everyone else's enjoyment.  :)
