Hey! Oh My Cow! It's A Bat! And She's The Recorder! Dude.....That's Cool.....

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

Ferravle tavern

Alura the bat. Blisa the cat and Ferdinand the ferret. Liam the marten.

Alura sits in a booth, papers and a couple quills are laid on a table, an ink bottle full of black ink and she is writing on one of two scrolls she has. One scroll is rolled up and the other maybe close to being rolled up soon, she takes a sip of her red wine and goes back to writing, a plate if half eaten salad and fish is also on the table.

Blisa roughly opens the door to the tavern, looking decidedly miffed. The small white cat stalks past the bat, then does a double-take and stands staring at her. Ferdinand the ferret bodyguard comes in following his charge, and he, too, looks surprised at the sight of a bat, but he has better manners about it. "Good day." He says, bowing slightly.

Alura takes another sip of the wine and finishes writing her last few words for the scroll and rolls it up, a bite of fish and salad and now she looks over, "Hi to you." She places a cork on the ink bottle and lays down her quill, "I was just finishing some work, all done now"

Liam appears at the door. The young marten inn keeper today has foregone his usual tunic and wears only his usual vest which he leaves open. Work leaves him little time to take care of his health and Liam is in need of a tailor...but for now pancakes.

Blisa mouths the word 'oh' and smiles brightly at the bat, finally coming to her senses. "Good day. My name is Blisa, and this is my friend Ferdinand. Welcome to Ferravale! Do you mind my asking what you were doing?" Ferdinand is alert and on the job, watching the other beasts in the room, searching for possible threats. He sees the marten and nods politely.

Alura blinks "I was writtting some info down, of some things that's happen lately around the village here as it's my job to do this and I will keep all records in a safe place to be read at a later time, issues on dates and places and events, outcomes and those of good and bad outcomes as well."

Liam nods to the ferret body guard. He strides over to the kitten and ferret and...bat? he must admit he has only seen them in books. He tilts his head to the side and examines her foot to tall ears. "Looks like Blisa is out and about making friends again, so you are the new Village Recorder?" He smirks as he nods his head in greeting. "Liam Grey, I run the inn."

Blisa smiles and holds out a paw, shooting a grin to the marten. "It's nice to meet you. I'm glad we have a recorder. You will be very busy, I'm sure." Ferdinand smiles and nods in agreement with the pudgy inn keeper. "Indeed, the ith."

Alura goes to shake the paw, "I am Alura, I am also a messenger, I am guessing you live here as well?"

Liam chuckles, "You could say that." the marten wonders if the bat hangs upside down when writing. "Unfortunately I don't have too long. I need to grab my lunch and run. We got busy with all this weather. Speaking of which if you haven't found a home yet you are welcome to stay at the Inn, Alura. We do have weekly rates."

Blisa nods. "I do, indeed. My Daddy is the Chieftain, actually. I'm glad you're here, Alura. Do you fly alot when you take messages?" Ferdinand resists the urge to ask the marten how he runs with such a pot belly. He thinks it, but he does not say it.

Alura tenses slightly at the word fly, she starts to put her supplies away and speaks, "I...I deliver alot of messages yes and write alot for recorder records as will most likely need to catch up on whats been going on here, what was or was not recorded"

How the marten moves about so quickly while carrying so much weight is a mystery, as is how he managed to dissapear and return with a stack of pancakes as tall as he is wide. Prehaps his trips here are so regular the tavern keeper knows to have them ready for him in advance..."Sorry I don't have much time to chat. Take care blisa, and Ferdinand. It was a pleasure meeting you Alura." The fat marten begins to walk for the exit.

Ferdinand waves good-bye to the marten, silently wondering if he ever trips and drops his flapjacks. Blisa frowns and sits down. "Oh...I'm sorry. Did I make you upset? I didn't mean to. I'm sorry."

Alura watches the marten leaves and shakes her head, "And I have a hut to live in"

Blisa nods and points to the scrolls. "What were you writing about just now?" Ferdinand orders some food for the 2 of them, noting that the bat probably is full now. He orders her some cake.
